Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, 1st to early 2nd trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a loooong time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

Boom are you finding out what you're having??? Do you know if they are identical yet or can you find this out tomorrow as well?? Exciting times Grin

Ooo merk! My friend had linea nigra and a very hairy belly that developed with it!
How exciting for the scan tomorrow boom! Bet you can't wait!
No developments here. Still 'leaking' brown but today seems to be teeny tiny bits in it. A little more concerning but hoping yesterdays dildocam is the culprit.

I've just been to my first antenatal yoga and relaxation class. It was so lovely - I actually felt like it validated me in some way. I could be myself and be with my baby and let go of the the voice that shouts doubts at me the rest of the time.

Interestingly (I thought), those up to 29 weeks could lay on their back for relaxation and those more than that on their left side. We weren't there long but even so, it def put my mind at rest a bit more about those moments.

So exciting about the scan boom, what a shame it's not first thing in the morning but it'll come. We'll all be on refresh-watch for your news x

I have a very faint linea negra merk although so far have avoided the accompanying belly pelt. We're not finding out so feel free to have an official guess (photos are on fb somewhere) but won't be able to confirm or deny for another 20wks or so!

I'm not excited, I'm worried. I hate that I haven't felt them move yet and terrified that there will be something wrong... I'm such a fretter and hearing all you guys talking about lovely movements when I'm getting sweet f.a. has made me assume the worst! Know I'm completely bonkers but going to have a sleepless night tonight I think. Roll on tomorrow afternoon...

Poor you Boom. But I was 19
Weeks before I felt anything I think so you're not far off, and (as you will well know) it can take up to 23 weeks. Sure all will be fine. Hope you manage to sleep and not worry too much. Have a hand

Thunderpantsarego · 04/12/2013 22:46

boom if you were responding to someone else saying what you're saying, what would you say? That their concerns are valid but lots of people don't feel movement until 24 weeks or beyond, especially with the first?

I think boom might need a wang you know.. Xmas Wink. She's terrible at taking her own advice!!!

Got my 16 week mw appointment later but can't find my urine bottle. Did get it 8 weeks ago! Hope I won't get told off! Anyone know what I should expect from this appointment?

Was going to tell you all how I felt the baby move last night but I think I dreampt it now haha grrr!

Kitty its wee dip, blood pressure and a dopple. If its anything like mine they'll have more wee bottles on reception or the midwife will just let you go and pee directly on the stick.

Boomgoestheweasel · 05/12/2013 08:05

Ha kitty I could definitely do with a wang! Losing the plot!

Sure the receptionist will give you a wee pot when you get there if you ask. At 16wks I normally do bp, pulse, check wee, have a listen in, go through blood results if there are any, talk about parent craft classes/options (have to book v early on the nhs round here!), check they've had/know about flu vaccine, make sure 20wk scan is booked and see if there are any other things they want to chat about. That's about it though! Hope it goes well Grin

Calm thoughts boomy

Anyone else having to think about when to stop work? A few friends have said they stopped at 38 weeks, so I may go with that. No idea how to decide!

Report
Boomgoestheweasel · 05/12/2013 09:09

I'm stopping waaaaay early, probably going on maternity leave at about 34 weeks. But that's mainly because they won't let me work past that with the twinnos on board, and I'm going to save my holiday to get me up to about 37 weeks before I start claiming mat allowance. I think most people go off at between 36 and 38 weeks if that helps!

Having a huff this morning because Mr Boom has just sprung it on me that we have to go to a wedding evening do tomorrow night after work. I have nothing to wear and there are literally NO shops in town that sell maternity wear other than Jojo which is extortionate. BAH. Any ideas for a non-maternity dress that I could squeeze into?

Report
Thunderpantsarego · 05/12/2013 09:55

What??? No warning?! How bizarre...

What about a wraparound dress? I don't know how big you are but I'm still wearing all my old tops with just maternity trousers as the necessity. So if you have a non clingy dress you might still get in it? my wedding dress was a standard fit and I wore that at 21 weeks shhhhhh

Well it was more a mix-up thunder, the invitation must have got lost in the post and we assumed since it was a small wedding we just weren't invited. Mr Boom texted the groom yesterday to find out where to send the card (they've moved) and apparently we are indeed on the guest list!

I'm pretty tubby now! I've tried all the dresses which I already own on and they're no good, most of my smartish dresses are pretty fitted. A nice wraparound would probably still just about stretch to cover me but I don't have one. Might have to go on a windy shopping trip this afternoon.. No way could I have got into my wedding dress at this point!! or indeed just before I got pregnant but we don't need to mention that

I'm having a dilemma about when to start leave too. I'm due at the end of the easter hols so if I work til the end of term and use my normal holiday I can start leave when the baby is born, but can I do that and is it wise??

Why would it not be wise tally? So if the baby's on time you would leave 2 weeks before which is what I think I'll do? You could always set your leave date to start at the end of the hols so if it's overdue you still don't go back? Or maybe I've misunderstood?

Tallyra · 05/12/2013 14:20

that's mostly what i meant. can I just don't know if that's a good idea, but I have no idea how big i'll be by then!
