Kat sorry you're feeling down at the moment. Sounds like me the last couple of weeks, it's pretty normal to be a grumpy cow I think!

The growth scan will be because in some cases a raised PI can be a predictor of a smaller baby, or of complications like pre-eclampsia. Note that I said SOME not all, before you panic! Most likely everything is fine. Was this a private scan you had? If so, I assume no referrals will be automatically generated - I would ask your midwife to refer you for a consultant appointment so they can properly explain and put your mind at rest. Not very professional of them not to make sure you knew what was going on at the time tbh. Really do try not to worry, and on the bright side if it is something that needs monitoring then at least it's been picked up by this scan x

Foody how did I miss that you were having your scan today? Lovely that all is well Grin...pics?

I'm only coming on to have a grumble. Finally got canesten today aaaah that's better only to find that now the REST of me is fecking itchy! Itchy all over, especially tummy and legs! I thought it must be the beginnings of stretch marks when it was just my bump but now it's all down my legs so I guess not. Have had a shower in case it was my moisturiser, and changed into pyjamas in case it was my jeans/washing powder - nope, still itchy. ARGH!

Also, I have to get up at 5 tomorrow for work. After 3 days off in a row, it feels like way too much effort!

PuppyMummy · 28/11/2013 20:10

great news foody we got our downs screening result today 1:31353 good news.

a while till we find out the sex but my mum and oh think girl, I am calling it him and guessing boy!

qazxc · 28/11/2013 20:17

Sorry I haven't been round for a while. Nothing new, still non stop nauseafest. AAAAARRRRGGGHHH.
Colleague has just announced she is also pg, due a week after me, that won't go down well with the boss from hell. I am envious of the fact she has no nausea or tiredness and already has a neat little bump, at nine weeks!
Having said that i'd say it will be a good while til i get a bump it'll have to fight it's way through my blubbery belly.

Foodylicious · 28/11/2013 20:20

boom just not shouting about it I guess Smile All ok with scan but have to see another Dr in few weeks to check cervix. Saw a Dr today due to previous Lletz procedure. Front measure is a bit short and back she was not happy with. Did say she had read my notes and they say cells were grade 3 cin and they took 'quite a chunk'. Not impressed, had been told at the time it was high grade 2 and that what they would take would not cause me any probs. I know they prob got the grade from lab tests after, but they never told me. I am also sure i would still have had the procedure at the time if I had known more but just a bit shocked and fucked off I now have this to worry about.
Was also really dicked about at the appt - scan and 9am followed by bloods then wait to see the Dr.
Student midwife took me into a room at 10.05 to check my pee and BP. She did not check my pee properly (barely looked at the stick for 10-15 seconds before chucking it in the bin!), then left me in the room on my own for half an hour. I came out to see what was going on, then to check the time as car was in 2 hr parking and it was gone 10.40! had to go and move my car which was a brisk 5 min walk away and I nearly vommed from the rush. Then had to park it nearly 10 mins away so I was not in the same 'zone'.
The Dr was lovely and apologetic and I know its not their fault they get busy, I get busy at work too but I would never put someone in a room for half an hour and just leave them there.
Oh and I did tell them about the student midwife and the pee stck, wish I had just said something to her at the time but it was awkward. I would want someone to tell me if one of my students did that. She also did not wear gloves and only vaguely rinsed her hands afterwards.

Phew rant over, guess I am feeling stressed and exhausted by it all really.
Also sore after exam Sad

Have been awake an hour and a Hal and think I'm going to have to give up on trying to sleep and go and make some breakfast... I'm ravenous
Is anyone else still waking in the night?

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/11/2013 04:25

Hour and a half. Who's Hal??Grin

BlindKitty · 29/11/2013 06:44

Haha that's what I was going to say merk! Yeh still waking, just more used to it now!

kat did you say if you found out the sex? Would that help you to bond?

foody great scan news. I've got all the cervix stuff to come at the 20 week scan Hmm. What's annoying is that I'm con convinced my notes are wrong and that I didn't have the cells cauterised (sure I had them frozen) so they've written to the hospital where I had it done.

qazxc · 29/11/2013 08:50

Great news foody!
Off to meet a mate for coffee, she's also been TTC for years, so i'm a bit nervous about telling her.

BlindKitty · 29/11/2013 20:41

qaz I'm sure she'll appreciate getting it from you first hand. If she's anything like the berries she'll be pleased for you. It's the rest of the world she'll hate. How long were you ttc for, if you don't mind me asking? X

Tallyra · 30/11/2013 08:43

right, off for a wander around bath Christmas market. wish me luck, I'm not a huge fan of crowds...

blindkitty trying for 2 years, 3 miscarriages. I did feel really bad because she was in tears when she came in (to do with work and family stuff) so i was going to chicken out and leave it for another day, but then she asked so i told her. I can imagine how she feels, the same way we both used to feel, happy for the person but with a "why not me?" little voice at the back of your head that makes you feel like a right bitch. I just don't want her to feel she can't vent or talk to me because i'm upduffed. IYKWIM.

BlindKitty · 30/11/2013 14:29

Oh god qaz totally understand! Me and my friend (both ttc 2 1/2-3yrs) talk everyday about ttc. Apart from mn she's been my rock through it all. Was so desperate for her to get diffed too when I found out...last week she finally got her bfp (1st month of prog pessaries)!!!!
