Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

It can't be ten months as depending on where in the year it fell that would have a different result, surely. I reckon using months in any way is probably misleading.

Probably also depends on your definition of a month - if that's calendar month or just a unit of 4 weeks.

So yeah if it's the latter, and pg lasts 10 months then what you're saying makes sense. I think I might stick to weeks!

Thundercatsarego · 21/10/2013 18:40

Ps nice one on the nips. I have the belly of a donkey.

BlindKitty · 21/10/2013 18:42

brod fab scan pic! Hoping for one just as good 6th nov!

boom sorry to tear about your fall. sure the babies are ok. you're not rhesus beg are you?

thunder bet you're so excited about tomorrow. I'm excited just about my midwife appointment tomorrow haha. Are we placing bets on the sex yet or are you keeping it as a surprise?

Sniggers about merk's nipples but then remembers that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

foody are you feeling any better yet?

puppy not long til your jollys now ey?'

Boomgoestheweasel · 21/10/2013 18:43

Merk Yeps correct, just over half of all twins deliver naturally before 37wks, those that don't are usually induced between 37 and 38. So even though my due date is 20th April we're probably looking at somewhere more like end of March/early April. I'm a bit funny about being induced before 38wks having read the evidence, but will have a rant at discussion with the consultant when the time comes..

Oh and don't even try to think about pregnancy in terms of actual months. Weeks are the way to go if you don't want to get totally befuddled!

I feel revolting tonight, I'm wondering if the sour cream and chive pringles I know I have in the kitchen would make things better or worse....I've got a friend coming over who's having a really hard time recently and I know there will be tears, and I could really do without feeling the need to vom the entire time!

Oh and in the bath today I found a linea nigra! Only faint but another one to add to the list of attractive pregnancy features...

Sorry Kitty crossed with you! No, not neg or indeed beg and it wasn't enough of a fall to warrant anything anyway, more of a shock than an injury!

And merk, thunder, can't wait to follow suit and get a luscious belly/nipple pelt...

Thundercatsarego · 21/10/2013 18:47

blind I am really nervous about the scan, not excited. Frightened might be a better word. No, not finding out but OH is on the look out for some tackle.

boom bet you are before me- I'm bound to be late if I get that far

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/10/2013 19:22

Snorted water out of my nose at the belly of a donkey comment thunder GrinGrin

PuppyMummy · 21/10/2013 19:28

boom glad your ok, I tripped up the stairs yesterday at home too! no damage done except a carpet burnt knee!

merk I like the crisps in the bath technique!

im quite happy cos last few days I hav felt quite sick all afternoon!

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/10/2013 19:34

Boom forgot to say I hope you're ok
Thunder what time is the scan? Doubt any reassurance will help so just remember that this time tomorrow it will be over and you will be hugely relieved and a little bit more in love with your potato/melon/whatever fruit or veg it is this week!

Tallyra · 21/10/2013 19:39

don't worry yourself puppy, you can feel as happy as you like, I just think you're a teensy bit crazy Wink
what's a linea negra?

Tallyra · 21/10/2013 19:55

and I can trump you on the ugly side. because I'm taking lots of steroids I am now oddly covered in spots from chin to top of belly. but my actual bump is completely clear. odd eh?

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/10/2013 19:56

Tally that is odd. Do you stay on the steroids until the end now? How much are you still being sick? lines nigra

Tallyra · 21/10/2013 20:10

I should be reducing them now as I'm feeling so much better, but I'll be asking the consultant tomorrow... They also increase my appetite enourmously - I'm eating almost all the time now and not actually feeling sick until late in the evening, YAY!

I'm on a computer for the first time in ages now, so I'll try and put up las week's scan photo - I may get another one tomorrow but who knows how long that'll take me to put up...

PoppySeedBun · 21/10/2013 20:24

Hello folks. Sorry for silence - was at in-laws all weekend.

thunder good luck with the scan tomorrow - hope that your bean is better behaved than mine and that you get some good pics (mine was too wriggly!) Grin

brod congrats on a great scan!

tally so glad to hear you're starting to improve.

And welcome to the newly-diffed!

Had a not-brilliant weekend - threw up both days (sorry, TMI), the second time on the platform to get the train home Sad. Thought I was getting past that stage, (13+5) but apparently not. Also very tired and listless still.

Pulled a sickie from work today - just not feeling confident that I would get through the day. In the end, I felt OK, but still very listless. Should really have done some work from home, but just found myself staring at the computer, and not able to focus on anything. Feels rubbish because I know I'm letting my team down at work by not being able to contribute (although they are all v. understanding).

I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow by being at work and having more to do to distract me - I'm sure staying at home and dwelling on it isn't helping. Helpful to have a rant on here though. Sorry for bringing the mood down.

Oh, and BTW, weeks -> months, from project planning days, assume that 1 month = 4.33 weeks. So, probably best to stick to weeks!

Thundercatsarego · 21/10/2013 20:25

tally that really is fantastic about you feeling ok in the day times now. Ace.

merk it's at 8.30. Definitely not as nervous as 12 weeks (helped by recent doppling) but you're right if all is fine this time tomorrow will be great.

Everyone still eating out there?

BlindKitty · 21/10/2013 20:33

tally you've had so many scans I don't even know if you've uploaded your latest!

puppy haven't managed to actually vomit but I've been wretchy most days. Almost did today at work but someone came into the toilets at work so managed not to!

boom how long does the linea negara last for? That woman in merk's pic seriously needs to tidy up down there! Especially as it rides half way up her belly urgh!

Brodicea · 21/10/2013 20:34

tally - that's a lovely leggy angle on the baby! Lovely.

Bummer poppy, sorry to hear you're still feeling crap. There seems to be a mythic mantra of 'after fourteen weeks you'll feel fab' but I guess that can make us impatient to get there. And feeling utterly knackered and listless is a valid reason to not be in work. Maybe a change of scene will help though - I was off work Thursday pm through Friday and feeling totally shit up until yesterday and I think one does get a bit of cabin fever.

On another note I already have on errant hair on my nipple which needs regular pluckage - reeeeallly hoping my borderline hirsutism does get out of hand once the hormones really get going on my follicles Sad

boom - Paprika pringles were my sickness prevention snack of choice over the weekend.

Pipersouth · 21/10/2013 20:35

Merkin I am jealous of any and all symptoms at the moment

I'm just waiting to get doctor's appointment to back up the 4 BFP but a bit of blood so fingers crossed as this the first time we've got this far sigh trying to be positive just worried

Brodicea · 21/10/2013 20:35

thunder still eating (masses of cereal mainly) but I think my peak was eight weeks ish when I was getting up for midnight snacks.

Thundercatsarego · 21/10/2013 20:36

Hee haw kitty mind your mouth there

Wink
PuppyMummy · 21/10/2013 21:00

brod im nearing 8 weeks and eating like mad! im trying to convince myself my podgy tummy is bloated not just tubby! Grin

Tallyra · 21/10/2013 22:21

its the only scan pic I've actually put up so far due to not switching on a computer for ages.

BlindKitty · 22/10/2013 07:31

thunder oh it's not you is it? Wink

Thundercatsarego · 22/10/2013 08:03

No kitty if it were me you wouldn't be able to see that scar through the forest... Smile

Boomgoestheweasel · 22/10/2013 08:13

Good luck this morning thunder! EEK can't believe you're having your 20 week scan!

Tally lovely pic Grin so glad you're feeling better, hooray!

In case anyone's interested, I ate the whole tube of pringles last night. And half a packet of the sympathy biscuits I bought for my friend...
