Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

whoot whoot boom!

Boomgoestheweasel · 16/10/2013 16:23

Thanks all, it's a massive weight off my mind! Most people have now been told, had lots of people going 'TWINS! How will you MANAGE??' which is very encouraging Hmm. Just my Gran left to tell, but she's out on the razz so will have to try her tomorrow Grin

Feeling pretty happy today!

Oh and excellent words of wisdom from Quod.

Oh and I think I got the pics up ok, although twin 2 looks a bit squashed!

foody you will definitely have a managing stress policy as you're nhs (if you don't, you should!) -check you're intranet. If you don't have a policy, most trusts use the royal marsden's policy (they tend up be shit hot for everything). You are more valuable to your team if you are in work, rather than off work for long periods. Are you a member of unison or anything? Might be worth speaking with your trade union rep on where you stand or even HR or occupational health. You don't have to tell ANYONE what is actually going on but a carefully worded doctors note may be useful. I'm a trade union rep, hence why I'm banging on about rights and policies!

boom FAB news...but however will you cope??!! Hmm

thunder YEY for no headaches!!!

Thundercatsarego · 16/10/2013 17:18

Fantastic boom. Has twin one got a chicken's leg though?! (not sure whether one is allowed to joke about these things).

I'd love to be having twins- for me getting ttc and pregnancy over with forever sounds a lovely lovely thought!

Hope your gran doesn't feel too ropey tomorrow after all that razzing

BlindKitty · 16/10/2013 17:25

boom oh yeh did have to lol when you said about your nan on the razz!!!

Boomgoestheweasel · 16/10/2013 17:25

Ha thunder I think joking is allowed - chicken leg is nothing, twin 2 has a head like Darth Vader I hope it doesn't stay that way

Granny Boom will be out playing bridge and drinking too much sherry. She's awesome Grin

Kitty you can never trust a parent! Bet my Gran will take the news a leeeetle too much in her stride when I tell her....

Excellent news boom! Are you putting scan pics on fb???

Foodylicious · 16/10/2013 17:45

Thanks boom. Have just got back from docs - just burst into tears when I started talking to her, she was very kind, mostly just listened then told me having some time off might help a bit. has given me sick note for 2 weeks and said just to ring if I need longer. Hoping I wont - the 2 weeks takes me up to MW appt on 29th. Will def follow your advice about managing stress policy when it comes to going back.

And yay again boom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Foodylicious · 16/10/2013 17:45

Thanks for the advice from you all and wise quod esp!

Boomgoestheweasel · 16/10/2013 17:57

You're welcome foody, but I think you mean Kitty Wink

Pics up on FB Quod!

BlindKitty · 16/10/2013 19:44

foody good! Someone once went to my old boss quoting the policy and she got reduced (paid) hours! She was only stressed with wedding stuff!!!! You DEFO have a good reason!

Quodlibet · 16/10/2013 19:47

Foody I am glad you have got yourself some breathing space. I reckon we don't really know how to handle MC as no-one really talks about it publicly, but at least MN means we don't all have to learn the hard way how NOT to do it!

Boom, loving your Darth Vadar and Chicken Legs. My 20 wk photo looks like Homer Simpson.

PuppyMummy · 17/10/2013 06:56

morning all, hope everyone is ok this morning. im not on facebook so cant see the pics.

im having a 'no symptoms' day today. literally nothing! 7 weeks today. sure it's all fine but aaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!
Id be so much happier with something going on!

ah well should think myself lucky!

BlindKitty · 17/10/2013 07:18

puppy why don't you join fb? If you don't like the idea if using your real name we could think of one for you! You could just pick something silly like sex kitten Sylvia or something!

Thundercatsarego · 17/10/2013 09:16

Mawning all. Day 2 of no headache...whoop!!

puppy boom has posted the pics in her profile on mn so you can see them.

foody really good news about the doc. You need space to look after yourself.

kitty I didn't even know 'mum-to-be' cards existed! How sweet though even though she wasn't supposed to know.

Foodylicious · 17/10/2013 10:18

Just seen your pics boom Grin Grin Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 17/10/2013 10:32

Hurrah for your mended head thunder but we won't mention the word 'blooming' just yet

foody glad you found them, don't want you to miss out through lack of FB connection! And good news from the doc Smile

quod ha Homer Simpson...please tell me you have a pic of that?

puppy no symptoms is always a headf**k. Does it help that I'm largely symptom free and have been all the way through, even with two beans? I asked my mum and she said she never had a single symptom either except for bigger boobs. So I guess some of us are just lucky even though it doesn't feel lucky and makes us worry

OP posts:
Brodicea · 17/10/2013 10:39

hee hee at the chicken leg and darth vader boom! Glad to hear all is good in the hood.

Glad to hear the headache is gone thunder

I have a nasty cold (big whoop, but I am a hypochondriac so it's worse for me Wink ), but have had to come into work as BOTH my colleagues are signed off for two weeks - boo, waaah.

Hmm, facebook, is it only for the kool kids?

Foodylicious · 17/10/2013 10:51

I am on fb boom its puppy that isn't. do you have another group page for the berrycopter?

BelissimaLol · 17/10/2013 10:53

Brod yeah fb is only for the cool kids!!! Since we're all cool we can all join GrinGrin
Pm me your name if you're interested. It's quite fun!!
Quod are you putting homer on fb?
If it's any help I was almost pretty much symptom free apart from a huge appetite!! But deep inside I know even that was an excuse! It did make me worry though.
Thund glad your head is better. Mine has been pounding for the last 24 hrsConfused

BelissimaLol · 17/10/2013 10:54

Foody yeah we have a secret group. Pm me your name and I'll add you Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 17/10/2013 10:55

Definitely only for the kool kids brod. Although it does depend on your definition of kool...I suspect you would qualify Grin

Ugh, a cold AND work - sucks.

My big news: went to work last night in maternity jeans. Felt ridiculous, but less trapped wind by the end of the night and they didn't fall down! They do make me look more pregnant though..

OP posts:
Thundercatsarego · 17/10/2013 11:12

Ha! Yeah I was definitely blooming yesterday if blooming means wearing a massive smile at being pain free!

Definitely want to see Homer Simpson. My scan is 5 days away. Feel sick thinking about it.

puppy 7 weeks eh? That's definitely getting higher that number. You are going to let us know when we are all doing the skydive onto the grads bus aren't you?

Tallyra · 17/10/2013 13:20

I'd join the new group but I'm not really using fb much these days. some of my 'friends' keep sending me pm junk mail to get me to sign petitions, which has put me off.
good luck thunder, it'll all be very exciting when you get your scan! I'm constantly amazed, and I get one every week - you'd think it would get old, but it doesn't! I'm coming to the end of that though, only have another couple if weeks left before my consultant goes on holiday and cuts me off.
