Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

thunder soon as I have actual evidence (other than my pee sticks) that there is a baby Shock inside me then we can be off!!

just tried a couple of bikinis on cos were off on holiday at end of next week, thank god they still fit. I am stuffing my face so much!!

BlindKitty · 17/10/2013 18:12

puppy I don't (really) have much to write home about either! Sore boobs, waking early and never really want my tea but that's it!

thunder is this the 20 week scan? Are you going to find out the sex?

boom I'm actually quite jealous of the maternity jeans. I keep sticking my belly out asking dh if I'm showing but I think it's just toffee crisp bars (that I seem to be obsessed with lately)

So panicked when a other card came through the letter box today. Fortunately it wasn't from another person who isn't meant to know! It was a beautifully printed baby shower invitation to a high tea at a plush hotel in town! At first I muttered how completely ott it all was..and then realised I am just completely jealous lol as I'll be lucky to have a few sausage rolls round mine!

Thundercatsarego · 17/10/2013 18:33

kitty yeah it is, even though I'll only be 18+5. And no we're not finding out the sex. We're 99% sure what it'll be but the not knowing til it's born is part of the magic for me.

You deserve way more than that for your shower- after all the effort you put in for your friends!

Ok puppy and did you say you decided not to have an early scan in the end?

PuppyMummy · 17/10/2013 19:09

thunder Yes we decided just to think positive and cross fingers!!

BlindKitty · 17/10/2013 19:30

thunder ah and what a lovely surprise it will be as well! Yes, I defo deserve some cheese and pineapple on sticks as well Wink

puppy has the patience of a saint!

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/10/2013 20:23

Sorry for being a bit AWOL, the tiredness has returned. Anyway a hot tip... My maternity jeans are lovely but am starting to find a full day with fabric wrapped around the bump leaves me desperate to rip them off when I get home. I've been living in my normal elasticated waist jogging bottoms but even they stopped fitting. I bought a pair of yoga trousers (jogging bottoms) from sweaty betty and they are bliss. Have a high belly band which is designed to be folded over but is soft and loose enough to be comfortable on the bump, and the material is so soft. I did go up a size, and they aren't cheap but they really are heaven when everything else is so uncomfortable

Angelina77 · 17/10/2013 20:28

Evening all. I've reached 4 weeks and tests are getting stronger each day so I feel pretty positive. I rang docs today and asked if I could get a blood test and a 6 week scan and surprisingly he agreed. Now I'm worried that if the scan is too early I won't get any peace of mind.

Is this the scan you turned down puppy?

BlindKitty · 17/10/2013 20:32

Taking notes! My tights are starting to feel tight around the tum. Is that even possible at 9+2?

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/10/2013 20:37

Yes blind, I had a bump v early. Watch out for tights or leggings on the bump, I find even if they're comfortable when I initially put them on, they make me want to vom not long later... I thought maternity tights would be a rip off but I've changed my mind!
Angel - all scans will put your mind at rest for a little bit of time. Either you will fret til 6 weeks, relax for a week and then fret til 12 weeks or fret til say 8 weeks, relax for a week and then fret til 12 weeks. It's the same around of fretting regardless of when you choose to have the scan I'm afraid

BlindKitty · 17/10/2013 21:14

merk won't mat tights fall down though? Isn't there a big slit in them around the bump? I know because I accidentally tried some on a few years back

Foodylicious · 17/10/2013 21:25

Oh kitty! get some new tights, though they must have just shrunk in the wash
Everything is tight here! mostly because I am getting fat, fat, fat, and get super bloated after I eat.
Seriously though, along with bigger boobs already I have new fat on my face, nearing jowl possibilities. Eeek.
Must. Eat. Less. Chocolate.
Must. Eat. More. Fruit.

However the new Cadbury's Dairy Milk with OREO is delicious, mmm
Everyone should try some Grin.

Going for dinner and fashion show tomorrow evening, have absolutely nothing nice that fits, or that will still fit after I eat. Not sure how I am going to manage not drinking either -its a girly night with my sisters Hmm

Angel well done on getting an early scan through your doc! I too am still poas at times and having not done it for a few days, doing it today and seeing the line pop strait up nice and dark really was reassuring.
See how you feel after the 6 week scan, you can always have 1 (or 2!) private scans between that and the 12 wk one if the fretting gets too much.
But Merk sums it up pretty well!

Feeling a bit more positive in the foody household today. I have also put up 2 new curtain rails on my own (very proud, they are strait and everything!) Knees a bit sore though from going up and down the ladder so many times.
I have also found 'The Rage' have nearly bitten OH's head off several times for nothing, and I mean nothing - found myself stood in kitchen fuming, asking myself what he had done wrong and really could not think of anything...(maybe looked or breathed funny? really no idea!) ... hmm have warned him about this once I felt better so he has agreed not to take it personally unless I tell him he really needs to.

yay for lack of pain thunder
grr to tiredness merk, I tried to have a nap today when I was really tired and just could not fall asleep, here's to restful nights for us all tonight!

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/10/2013 21:26

A big slit???? ShockShockShock Really? ShockShockShockAlthough I don't care as long as they don't press on my bump.

I'm blaming tight trousers as I am currently unable to eat lunch without being sick. So am snacking horrifically later in the afternoon and then am not hungry for dinner. This afternoon Ive had a tub of mini sausage rolls, a slice of apple pie, tomatoes, half a warm baguette and some cheese Shock thank goodness for multivitamins

Tallyra · 17/10/2013 21:59

I seem to be turning into a greedy one - now I'm becoming able to eat, I want to eat. mum fed me before I went home, and I had to ask dh to stop and buy chips on the way home! that's probably because I'm taking steroids... got to be careful because they made me gain loads of weight last time (it's to do with the hg so I took them each time too). I've gone grime size 14 to nearly 10 with the sickness - I'd like to stay here now but it doesn't look like ill manage that.

oh and I've just bid on some belly bands on eBay. my sil swore by them when she was pg. currently living in my trakkie bums with nothing else suitable and a bump just starting to form.

Foodylicious · 17/10/2013 22:01

merk I too am counting on my vitamins and trying not to worry. On Tuesday I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast and sausage sandwiches for lunch AND tea. Have had sweet potatoes with tea for the last couple of days (they are veg, right?!) even managed a bananna yesterday.

Today I thought I was going to vom in B&Q so ended up buying 2 hot dogs from the van outside, no idea why - just had an overwhelming urge, needless to say I ate just the one.

Writing about sandwiches has reminded me about the 'hamwich' thread, tee hee that was funny Smile

Also just remembered about mood-hoovers and fun-sponges Grin

Bunnygirlie · 17/10/2013 22:56

Hey lovely berries, just wanted to pop in and say hi, hope you and bumps are all well. tally so glad to hear you are feeling better.

Very chatty in here, Berry HQ is v quiet these days now you are all off in the copter.

P.s. thunder yes i did see that higgledy piggledy list, see what happens when I'm not here to keep an eye on you Wink

Thundercatsarego · 18/10/2013 07:03

Headache is back Sad

Boomgoestheweasel · 18/10/2013 07:37

Aw hello Bunny, you are good to brave the rope ladder to check on us all! just practice for when you need it How are you feeling after your op?

Thunder nooooo Sad have you been to GP about it yet? And in a complete change of subject, what sex are you guessing then?

Tally sounds like you're on the mend, and your diet is no worse than mine - yesterday was bacon and eggs for breakfast, chicken and stuffing sandwich for lunch and two slices of cold takeaway pizza for dinner Hmm. Those multivitamins best be working hard!

Angel, have to agree completely with Merk about the calm/panic cycles with the scans! My early scan was 7wks and I paid for one at 10wks as I knew I'd be a wreck. That just about contained the mentalling or at least maintained it at a fairly safe level

I want to try some slitty tights! Last time I wore tights was that horrific meal where I felt awful, stupid wind.. agree about the jeans Merk, I've only worn them a few times but they do make me so hot and bothered, it's like having a vest on under there!

Was at work until midnight last night, dogs woke me up at 6 this morning (because stupid husband will have taken them out too early last night, he can never be bothered to do it last thing) and now I can't sleep. Cue crankiness.

CatsCantFlyFast · 18/10/2013 08:35

Thunder you really need to talk to your midwife or doc to get help
Tally so glad you seem to be coming out of the other side. Although an cross at you for making me crave chips Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 18/10/2013 08:59

Good work craving chips before 9am merk

Thunder I would go straight to GP. All mw will do is take blood pressure and dip wee and then refer you to GP, they can't prescribe you painkillers etc.

CatsCantFlyFast · 18/10/2013 09:01

Boom - question for you. My midwife said at 16 week app that my next appointment would be with my gp. Stupid question but do I need to ring up and make this appointment myself?

Boomgoestheweasel · 18/10/2013 09:02

Ugh am coughing my guts up. One of the chimneys was blocked at work last night and some idiot on the shift before mine lit the fire anyway, had to work in thick smoke all night! Plus got no tips because nobody sat in my section, and had to do all the rubbish cleaning jobs that nobody else wanted to do. BAH.

OP posts:
Thundercatsarego · 18/10/2013 09:06

I have spoken to midwife and I asked for my blood pressure to be checked when I went for my blood test on Monday. It's just one of those things apparently, a reaction to the hormones.

boom boy, no doubt about it.

merk that's funny that you will see the gp next. We don't do that here. Is that at 25 weeks? I'd ring up and ask.

Hi bunny! I knew you'd catch us with list disarray! It was tidied though- I hope you're impressed

CatsCantFlyFast · 18/10/2013 09:09

Yes the next time I see my midwife is jan so I now have in order;
20 week scan
Doctor
Midwife
Doctor

Thundercatsarego · 18/10/2013 09:27

Ha, that's really different to us. I have my anomaly scan next week, 25 week scan on 9th dec and then 28 week when they inject me with loads of stuff I think. No doctors at all. Can't say I'm sorry about that.

CatsCantFlyFast · 18/10/2013 09:37

25 week scan??? Envy Envy

i get injected w/anti d at 28 weeks
