Open to all elderberry grads and anyone who fits the berry criteria: over 30, first trimester(ish) with #1 after trying for a long time, and nervous as hell. Come on in for handholding and nub theory!

I'm assuming its a pregnancy thing as not something I've been affected with before! Probably goes along with the constipation and horrific wet knickers (no I am not weeing myself yet)

BelissimaLol · 13/10/2013 10:40

I was also really I'll with a cold at Xmas and could not take anything for it! Not even some brandy Grin.
And if it's any consolation I also farted for England!!! And slept like shit. People kept telling me it's my body preparing for sleep deprivation when baby comes but I'm pleased to report I sleep a lot better now than I did when pg!!!!
I feel your pain ladies. Especially early pg fears after mc. It's horrid and it seems it will never go away. It does and is replaced by other irrational fears

BlindKitty · 13/10/2013 10:58

I feel like a bit of a fraud as although I do have all these symptoms, they don't seem nearly as bad as everyone else's!

Boomgoestheweasel · 13/10/2013 11:00

Ah don't worry Kitty, you'll get there

In fairness, other than tights-induced trapped farts last night, I still haven't really had much in the way of anything other than tiredness and slight nausea. Nothing dramatic here. Then again, I feel like a fraud too Hmm

Cavort · 13/10/2013 11:05

Ahh Merk the horrific wet knickers. I found it got so bad I ended up wondering if pantyliners (horrible word) should be free on prescription for pregnant women. Angry

Foodylicious · 13/10/2013 12:15

Thanks guys!
I am feeling a little better after some sleep, maybe last nights tights were too blame in part too!
Oh and it was 8 weeks kitty, I just wish the next 3 weeks would fly by, but will get through one irrational day at a time Blush

I will prob have the flu jab in a few weeks - they started offering it at work last week having trained our modern matron & practice development nurse to give them in the hope of increasing uptake this year, instead of just the usual drop in sessions.
And its a definite yes to the whooping cough vaccine for us all I hope!

Thundercatsarego · 13/10/2013 21:07

Not me. Tried to go out. Failed. Feel too crap and have the most debilitating headache. Still.

MotherOfCleo · 13/10/2013 21:19

Foody I don't belong here either....sorry. I'm 36+4, expecting a little man who is due November 7th. Smile

MotherOfCleo · 13/10/2013 21:29

hope you feel better soon thunder!!! Thanks I have found I have to drink heaps more than usual to stop myself getting dehydrated and headachy. Its weird what your body gets up to in pregnancy. Shock

Foodylicious · 13/10/2013 21:48

thunder thats crap! have you tried the 4head sticks? dont get rid of headaches all together but make it alot more bareable

Thundercatsarego · 13/10/2013 22:03

No I haven't foody, I'll have a look. I have got another blood test tomorrow for thyroid (every 6 weeks) so I might pop in and have a chat to a midwife - see if they've got any tips or concerns. Have outrageously pounding heart too.

I am thankful every day for being pregnant and getting this far and not feeling worse. It's just this headache- it's been weeks now and it makes everything such hard work.

Foodylicious · 13/10/2013 22:09

That must be awful, hope you get some solutions tomorrow!, check with your MW re 4head sticks, but they say safe to use in pg. Contains levomenthol, so you need to sit still for 5 mins when you put it on or the vapours get in your eyes a bit, but its a lovely cooling, tingly feeling.

BlindKitty · 13/10/2013 22:18

Thunder Sorry if stating obvious but have you tried relaxation methods/cds, cutting back on salt and drinking enough fluids?

BelissimaLol · 13/10/2013 22:37

I used 4head too and it did help a bit. They are safe in pg. Are you taking paracetamol or just trying to bear the pain? I took it at least twice a week on my second trimester and mw assured it was fine as long as I was not taking more than 8 in a day!
I also chose to take the pills which have caffeine as two of them is still under the recommended dose of caffeine and as I don't drink tea or coffee it was not a problem either. Worth a try Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 14/10/2013 06:15

Poor thunder. I'd definitely see your Mw or gp, they might want to check your bp especially given the bounding heart. Hope it improves soon x

All boring here. Haven't managed to find one of the heartbeats for a couple of days so am quietly worrying myself to death and need Scan Wednesday to hurry up!

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 14/10/2013 07:14

boom you worried yourself last time when you could only find one heartbeat! Maybe having access to a Doppler isn't such a good thing??? Having said that, my friend pops hers out at the end of the month and said I can have hers....

Thundercatsarego · 14/10/2013 07:32

Hey all, kitty I haven't tried any CDs but I'm drinking assets of fluids and trying all sorts of different eating etc. lol I tried paracetamol and they didn't even touch it so haven't bothered since. The forehead things sound interesting though.re caffeine, I have one coffee a day and it is sometimes the thing that makes the pain ease and enables me to be able to get up and crawl get to work.

Thank you for all the thoughts.

boom sorry you're worrying. This is indeed why they say not to dopple early as you know so hopefully you can just plod your way to weds and all will be fine. Not long now!

How's everyone else today?

Boomgoestheweasel · 14/10/2013 07:32

Ha kitty I know, this is why midwives tell you not to get them! That said, I think it's saved me from total meltdown on several occasions. The heartbeat will just be hiding and I'll probably find it later, I'd rather have a couple of days worry than a whole 13 weeks of it! Still, roll on Weds...

Hi all, can I join in? 36, just got a BFP y'day for #1, been trying since last Xmas and MC'd in April.

Very scared atm because I've had a recurring bladder infection for nearly a year which I'm worried caused my previous MC. Can't seem to get rid of it even after multiple courses of ABs.

Going to try GP again today.

Thundercatsarego · 14/10/2013 07:54

Hello angel and welcome to the copter. Sorry to hear about your mc but a massive congratulations on your bfp!! Good idea to see the doctor, having an infection for so long must be awful you poor thing. Flowers

Angelina77 · 14/10/2013 08:04

Thank you. Yes, I've seen so many doctors and I can't believe it's still going on.
