Munz · 28/03/2006 16:05

also I don't care about the offence beanie causes, i'm offended by some of th ppl's posts but dpon't mean u go shoutin and cause arguements does it!??

rosylizzie · 28/03/2006 16:25

great name rom - hows she doing?
we are well apart from ds2 who has a virus called slapped cheek syndrome! new one on me. hes pretty droopy and the school has been off with a strike so ive had all 4 all day by myself for first time and decided to do a trip which wasnt a great success, i need to encourage more independence in older ones i think as by time ive got all 4 ready baby needs feeding again or changing, had to pull over to feed her in car, need more practice at this
ive just come accross a bit of mumsnet meaness for the first time, i started a thread on donating bmilk to prem babies as after the miscarriages and the difficulties and worries during dd2's pregnancy I want to give something back as I feel so priveledged to finally have her. someone called soupdragon just randomly posted to object to me using the expression boobfeeding but didnt contribute anything to the discussion. why the need?

Frizbe · 28/03/2006 18:26

no idea re soupy, but seem to remember getting into a bicker re her and the due in feb thread as well, so would stear clear....cliques n all that!

Cadmum · 28/03/2006 18:44

BOOBfeeding? How could you?!?! (Tongue in Cheek) Wink Isn't it a crime on MN to refer to breasts as anything except NORKS? IGNORE the cliques. Try not to take it personally. I love the idea of donating milk! You are an amazingly kind and thoughtful person (despite you use of such offensive language!!!) for thinking of it and for posting the question. There will be babies in New York that have you to thank for receiving donated milk now as well; I have added my name to this list of potential donors here too.

Nemo1977 · 29/03/2006 09:20

rosylizzie the person you want to talk to about donating your boob milk is fastasleep. She exclusively expresses for her DD so ended up donating something silly like 15litres a week..lol Put a shout out for her.

georgeandwigglyjake · 29/03/2006 10:17

Hi all,
RosyLizzie, good to see you back again and like the change of name. Wonderful idea to donate the milk. Smile

Rom, what a lovely Mr Rom you have there. Beautiful name and what a special treat for your first mothers day.

Teething appears to have hit here and apparently it goes on for about 2 years.....oh joy. DP turned round and said, did you think the hard part was over?? Well actually, yes, I had hoped it was. Have bought the contents of Boots so Jakey will now be permanently drugged up on Calpol for the next 2 years! Grin
(Poor little bugger, he could have had any mummy in the world and he got me!!Grin)

How is the lovely rounding preggie Bella feeling then? Those weeks are passing by now. Feeling any more pregnant rather than just a bit tubby yet?

Munz · 29/03/2006 11:42

ooh yes beela how r u doiung honney? I hope Debs joins us, and handbag how r u doing hon?

Rom - did u post piccs?

Soupy - if I remeber rightly she's always been ok with me - althou there's so many soupys i'm probably confusing the issue - boobfeeding breast feeding, it's all the same init! lol - mine r the fastest in the west to be wipped out at the mo! lol.

talking of expressing is there an art to it? i'm leaking approx 1oz form each side at each feed, but using the hand pump nothing comes out- it's a wonder my boy's fed! lol.

anyhow best get off for the next feed again!

hope everyone's doing well. who's next to pop? i'm sure we have some more PG ladies left don't we?

romilly · 29/03/2006 14:19

Hello Hello is there beanies out there???????????

Frizbe · 30/03/2006 15:45

Hi Debsey Grin great to see you on here, hoping its plain sailing for you from here on in {{{Hugs}}}

George I've found Nelsons Teething Powders very good in the past, also ambersol which you rub onto the gums....

Munz, I didn't get on with hand pumps last time, takes too long for my milk to ooze out, instead I use the electric, usually I manage to get foremilk in the first 5 mins, then nothing for 5 mins, then a walloping flood of hind milk anytime in the next 10 mins, and I wonder why my little ones take so long to feed sometimes Smile

Hi to everyone else hopeing your all ok x

Debbsy · 30/03/2006 22:25

awww thanks Frizbe it still hasnt sunk in yet still keep looking at my test and my midwife appoint.

Cadmum · 31/03/2006 18:56

Bella and Munzie: Could you please CAT/email me your addresses? I need to get the maternity clothes out of my closet and I am tired of telling everyone that the Oreos and Beef Jerky are not for them!!!

Nemo1977 · 31/03/2006 19:17

what is beef jerky???

OP posts:
Frizbe · 31/03/2006 20:28

Nemo, its dried cured beef stuff, you can get it in sainsburys round here too!! imported from USA of course Grin

MeAndMyBoy · 31/03/2006 21:13

Munzie I found that I struggled with expressing until I switched to a breast pump that had ridges on the rubber bit that you put inside the cup bit - also used to have a pic of DS to look at and it helped me letting down - I used to get a tingling sensation when it happened. Am thinking about getting an electronic pump this time so I can express more so DH can feed more often.

I did have to express plenty last time as DS had to have 1oz every feed with gaviscon in for his reflux.

Munz · 03/04/2006 09:32

lol, yes cads sorry hon, what was it u wanted apart from the penquins? do u want some tots i'm getting rid of them as they look stupid on Joey.

Bella23 · 03/04/2006 10:07

Hello Ladies - I'm back Grin
Wow gone only a week and hear that Debbsy has some FANTASTIC news!! So pleased for you and another one to join me on my journey!!

Rom - so very glad to hear that Romi is the chosen name, it really does seem so perfect - and what a gorgeous name!

Well yes George - there does appear to be a bump growing. I am starting to look more like a pregnant lady than a fatso! Smile

Cadmum - I have CAT you my address etc. Cool will be such a lovely suprise to get some pressies in the post. Is there anything that you are missing from England that I can post you as a thank you pressie? There must be something, have a think?

Well hope the rest of you ladies are enjoying the sunshine - lordy do we think Spring has finally arrived!!

Best crack on with some work - apparently that's what I am paid to do !!

HandbagAddiction · 03/04/2006 12:33

Morning all! Well guess what - I was struck down again last week with a very nasty cough and cold - and having been threatened with an asthma inhaler if it didn't start getting better soon, decided to spend most of the week in bed trying to get some rest. Poor dd was also diagnosed with a chest infection too - but is now better after many antibiotics. I'm still not 100% by any stretch but soldiering on and now back at work!

The good news is that I had my scan this morning and my placenta has completely moved...so the only thing which will now limit my ability to have a normal birth will be the sheer size of this baby. The sonographer is estimating the current weight to be 4lbs.....and I've still go 8 weeks to go. Shock To be honest, the sheer thought of trying to squeeze out something larger than 8lbs is really quite terrifying...I'm only little!!!

So glad to see everything else hanging in there. Cadmum, Frizbe - neither of you are bad mummies at all - just very tired and this is bound to test your patience.

Romilly - so glad you have settled on a name. Must admit this is one area where dh and I are seriously struggling. Naming dd was so easy in comparison!

Debbsy - lovely to see you hear again! Still so happy for you!! Smile

Oh and have I missed something on the name chage front or just completely lost it. Who is rossielizzy??!!!

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all OK.

Frizbe · 03/04/2006 12:57

Hi all just quickly popped on to check your all ok, we're suffering with no boiler since friday here, plumber out tomorrow, sure it contributed to dd2 waking every 2 hrs last night for a feed/cudddle n warmth from mummy, as was cold and we have no heating....dreading tonight, supposed to be minus temps.....brrrrrr.......

Tabs · 03/04/2006 13:29

Handbag - rossielizzy is hereshoping, but she's not hoping anymore!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight - they often seem to get it wrong in their estimates! If it's any consolation I managed to shift a 9 lber with just gas and air, although I don't think I could ever be described as 'only little'!!

Debbsy - is wonderful to hear your news - congratulations :).

Bella - you sound so happy at the moment - it's lovely to read after all your months of heartache.

Munz - I haven't found expressing that easy either, but I think that it's because I haven't been able to try it at the same time every day to build up the supply, which I believe is what's needed for most people. DD slept brilliantly last night though, so I had a really full boob to express this morning, and got off 4oz quite easily. I am using an electric pump (Medela mini) and can't imagine having to do that amount of pumping by hand, so would def recommend getting one.

Cadmum · 03/04/2006 16:45

Munzie: I actually found Penguins here. Hmmm. The one thing that I really miss is PG Tips tea. 40 tea bags cost $6.00 here so I seldom sping for it but then I hate the ohter teas... As for the nappies: Our washing machines are pathetic so disposables or nappy-service are my only options. How is your little man? What did they suggest at A&E? Our DD had a bottle of prune juice from a very young age because of constipation so don't let them convince you that BF babies can NEVER be constipated.

Bella: Thanks for sending your address! I will post you a 'pressie' by Wednesday latest. (I just hope that you still think that it is a pressie when it arrives.) This will soud silly but I would love to have some muslin squares. They don't exist here... Charlotte has discoved that it is fun to eat too much and then be sick all over me. This means that I spend my life in the laundry room. Of course it might help if I lost some of this weight so that my 'real clothes' would fit again!

I have hesitated to mention this earlier but it looks as though we are headed to Vienna for two years starting June 1. I am cautiously optimistic about the move although I speak no German so I know that it will be a challenge until I learn the language. Must buy the Rosetta Stone ASAP!!!

Hello to everyone else. I have run out of time to post as Charlotte is awake and HUNGRY. (I haven't fed her for at least an hour but you would think that it had been a week from her cries.) More later.

Munz · 03/04/2006 19:39

just quick for now, cads - will send u some PG tips over hon if u let me know ur detials - do u want coffee as well?
