Hope nobody minds me starting a new thread but I only get 5 mins at a time to read and post and the thread is taking me that long to read and then when I click add message it takes forever.

I am a true Canadian in the coffee department: Only Tim Horton's for me. I have that imported by Canadian visitors as the fee for being their tour-guide! Smile I have just replied to your lovely email. I have not sent you an addy though because I don't think we will be here long enough to receive and drink the tea. Sad If they don't sell PG Tips in Vienna then I will send you our address there.

romilly · 03/04/2006 23:17

Debbsy Grin what fabulous news to come back to! congrats honey - you got there!

Handbag - dont worry about the size yet - i was told 9lbs or more (gulp...) and in fact she was a healthy 8lbs (phew..!)

great to see everyone back here. cadmum - vienna sounds wonderful, so yet another move for you.

bella - so pleased you are feeling and looking v. pregnant now hon Wink and thanks for your nice comment on the name.

well, little romi is keeping me v. busy - i havent really caught breath since the birth yet, as you may have noticed from my lack of postings. suffice to say, i am loving every minute - yes, even in the early hours of the morning when i can hardly keep my eyes open, i still gaze at her in total awe.

Bella23 · 04/04/2006 09:09

Cad - your wish is my command. Muslin squares it is then! Just CAT me your address.
Gosh you are moving again! Sorry for being nosey and apologies if you've told me before but what does your DH do job wise? Just curious on the moves. You are a brave woman moving to a country where you don't speak the lingo.

Tabs - thanks for the lovely thoughts, yes it is lovely to have everything work out this year - what a total difference to last year. Its funny that as soon as everything comes rosey the heartache fades really quickly!

Rom - bless, you sound so happy!

Handbag - hope your coldy thing is on its way out, sounds nasty. Lots of fluid young lady.

Frizbe - hope that boiler man has been and fixed everything. Not sure where you are because here in London its actually quite mild. Freezing temps with no boiler = no fun indeed, poor you!!

Anyway must crack on with the old day job. Love to you all xx

Cadmum · 04/04/2006 15:28

Bella: I still haven't received your CAT... I know that MN Towers are busy trying not to be sued so perhaps everything is slow at the moment. I will try to CAT you in a moment and see if you get mine first. DH is currently working for the UN. Before that he was doing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Canada and prior to that his PhD in London. He has been in New York for 11 months but we just didn't know when he first came that his contract would be infinitely re-newable. Initially he signed on for 90 days and has been applying for permanent positions ever since. The funny part is that he used to be in the Army and got out to avoid all of the moving about. This will be our 15th move in our 12 year marriage. Our lives are really insane. Staying somewhere for 2 + years sounds like a dream come true.

Frizbe · 04/04/2006 20:00

Wow Caddy Vienna! German's easy to pick up when your there, so don't worry too much about the lingo (or I've found it has been easy enough to get by when necessary anyway, but maybe thats just me?) 2 whole years as well, sounds like it'll be great for you all Smile

Tabs, I found today at I appear to express very well with dd on one boob and the pump on the other! Grin hurrah!

Munz, hope your little one is ok?

Hope all ok, more later as I'm beeing screamed at! again...

Frizbe · 04/04/2006 21:19

Bella, boiler fixed thanks Grin nice heating and hotwater again, we're in Derbyshire! bit nippy in places......just had a 5 minute power cut as well Shock thank goodness it wasn't longer!

Bella23 · 05/04/2006 09:48

Cadmum - ooh thanks for the nosey info re your DH for me!
Gosh all those moves, I am such a taurean and hate change that even deciding to move house only 3 miles away was a huge decision!!
I guess when you have to its kind of empowering as it stops any form of rut developing. Well I can remember the way to ask directions to the post office from my german GCSE so am on hand if that ever comes up!!Grin
I have CAT you again to see if it gets through this time

Hope the rest of your ladies are enjoying the sunshine xx

Frizbe · 05/04/2006 20:00

argh the chuffin boilers gone again!!! plumber on his way back out tomorrow....grrrr....

Cadmum · 06/04/2006 18:48

Bella and Munz: Thanks for the addresses. Now I fallen behind on all chores (hectic day with Charlotte yesterday who was either crying or feeding...) so I will not make it to the post office before tomorrow. Will let you know when I have sent the packages. I will reply to your email this evening when things have slowed down. They will slow down, won't they?!?!

Frizbe · 06/04/2006 20:09

Caddy hope your day was better today, has the feeding slowed? we seem to be starting to develop a pattern here, hurrah! I can see feeds being slowly grouped together, have also gotten dd2 to drop to sleep via crying by herself twice today, hurrah, she's starting to get it!!
Hope everyone else doing fine?
Plumber has ordered parts for tomorrow, so hopefully get hot water back then....

Cadmum · 06/04/2006 21:09

My horrible day yesterday was more the result of the older three over-stimulating the baby from early in the morning and everytime she was longing to sleep they were in her face. By the end of the day I was nearly in tears along with her. Even DS1 doesn't seem to understand that DD2 NEEDS space.

It is strange because DS1 and DD1 were fantastic with DS2...

I am WAY too tired today to function properly. Tried to let the children run around the park but there were police boats on the water; a hellicopter low over us and officers walking around us. At first I was convinced that it must be a movie or a show being filmed but when I saw the police on the ground without film crews and weapons pointing out the the hellicopter, I figured out that we should head for home. New York is an amazing place; there is always something going on!

Bella23 · 07/04/2006 11:23

Arh sorry to hear things are a bit tough at the moment, I can only imagine how much hard work it must all be! Hope you have managed to get some sleep xx

Friz - hope you get the boiler fixed soon, bugger!

Hope all the other ladies are having fun with their little ones and plenty of sleep!

Nemo1977 · 07/04/2006 21:56

hi
just having a quick catch up but probably not going to be very successful

Handbag dont worry about pre empted sizes as was told hannah would be 10lb plus and she was a dinky 6.14.

Bella hope you are blooming hun

Cadders another move..you are a very brave lady but at least you should have chance to feel at home this time.

Munz hope J is behaving himself.

Rom hope you and little romy[is that still the name of your angel?} are ok.

MAMB hope you are doing well..keep meaning to email and then brain shuts down.

Well have had a hellish week as Hannah was admitted to hospital last sat at 5am.She is back home today after a dose of bronchilitis. Was a bit scarey as she was on oxygen and feeding tubes. She is not taking enough milk to maintain herself apparently.[takes approx 1-2ozs a feed at the min] She has inhalers to take and I have to watch her breathing and note down all her feeds etc as she has lost 2lb in one week but she is home which is the main thing. We have appointments coming through in post for reflux clinic and something to do with her breathing aswell as apparently she has a weak chest[which basically means infantile asthma

Debbsy · 07/04/2006 22:18

hello found you again, nemo hope your dd is ok how worrying for you.Willcatch up with everyone tomorrow as going to bed as v v tired.

Cadmum · 08/04/2006 00:31

Oh Nemo! Sad Sorry to hear about Hanna's health worries. What a nightmare for you. Hope she makes a full recovery, ASAP!

Bella23 · 08/04/2006 10:55

Nemo - hon sorry little Hannah is having such a worrying time, poor you!
Hope she puts wait on soon and bounces back xx

Frizbe · 08/04/2006 17:01

Caddy with you on that one, we appear to be needing extra feeds in the night now, so obviously growing/not gettin enuff milk during the day...am now aiming to give expressed bottle last thing at night to induce sleep.....will start bedtime routine next week at 6 wks me thinks....am also gona start putting to bed for naps in bed in afternoon, as dd1 just keeps waking dd2 up.....argh! you have my {{{Hugs}}} and sympathies.....did the horrible fall asleep with dd2 on boob last night in bed....ooopse....was that knak'd......only for half hr I rkn, but argh!

Nemo, what a scare, glad Hannah is home now tho, and your getting things sorted out re her health, try not to worry too much, asthma can't be diagnosed properly until they're much bigger, and she'll probably be ok by then Smile

Hi to all from a battered Friz, three kids in the house, Easter what a joy! Smile and dh at work all weekend, fabby.......sigh....

Debbsy · 09/04/2006 14:15

Hello ladies hope you can help me as feeling a little anxious today as been having little twinges down below is this normal?? no bleeding,no pain except backache which ive had from day one and sore boobs im 6 weeks now

dramaqueen72 · 09/04/2006 14:38

I found the beanie thread!wohoo! I'm so glad to skim thro and see everyones okay -nemo hun, hope hannahs better? or nearly better.
Daisy is doing wonderfully, such a sweetpea, sleeping/feeding/smiling. GROWING omg, shes growing so fast -or is it because shes my last and I'm noticing it more?
cad-I'm sorry about the other kids being in babys face all day, i know exactly what you mean, Daisy is OVERloved here and i keep telling them to back off!!will keep checking in with you all
much love

rosylizzie · 09/04/2006 19:54

nemo -hope hannah is on the mend - unlucky she got bronchiolitis so late in the year
cadmum hope yuor feeling perkier - four is hard work though brill as Im sure dq will agree! im facing four days on my own with all four now feeling quite nervous but need to get myself organised and going to try trip to museum tomorrow
Roisin is doing well but feeding madly from breast and Im feeling the need to give her some extra formula. shes 16 weeks tomorrow - anyone else feeling tempted to introduce solids sooner than 6 months - my last 3 i started at 16 weeks. on the plus side shes not waking at night so suppose shes ok for now

Frizbe · 09/04/2006 21:28

Rozylizzie, congrats for dealing with 4, you too Caddy, I'm suffering with just 3 of them today!! that been said dd1 is trying it on, avoiding the potty/toilet for everything bar one wee today, grrrrrrr taking the mick me thinks.......
Anyway hope everyone is having good weekends Smile

HandbagAddiction · 10/04/2006 08:51

Nemo - so sorry to hear about poor little Hannah - must of been terrifying for you. Glad to see she is now back at home...although I can imagine, you must still be very concerned for her.

Debbsy - re your pains / twinges....well I honestly think that at 6 weeks this is completely normal and just a sign of things beginning to stretch and grow. Quite a few people suffer very much in the early days from AF like symptons. The sore boobs things is good though - however painful they may be. Also worth noting that quite a few people don't start getting morning sickness until 6/7 weeks - so please don't worry yourself.

To those of you with 'new-ish' babies - sorry to hear that you're all going through the feeding marathon thing - must admit that's one thing I'm not particularly looking forward to this time around....so I shall be after some tips! Frizbe - hope you got your boiler fixed again too!

As for me - well a relatively quiet weekend. DD went for a sleepover with some friends on Saturday and dh and I went off to a hotel for dinner, an overnight stay and an uniterrupted lie-in on Sunday morning. Cost a small fortune but worth every penny in my book - our last chance for quite a while to be completely 'child-free'. Bump is doing well but feels like it's trying to claw it's way out at the moment....7 weeks to go and counting!!!

Cadmum - brave girl doing yet another move - hope it works out and I've heard that Vienna is a fab place to be!

Munz - hope you're OK given that you've been quite quiet for a while.

Bella - how's the bump going?

To everyone else - Rom, Nemo, Frizbe, Dramaqueen, Rossielizzie, MAMB, TABS and anyone else I've forgotten - hope you're all OK and looking after yourselves, your babies and your bumps!!!

georgeandwigglyjake · 10/04/2006 10:22

Where does the time go to???
These little ones take up so much time, I don't know where weeks fly off too.
DQ, Cadmum, Rosylizzie, you have my upmost respect for coping with 4. I think 1 might be enough for me. Smile
Bella, I promise it is all worth it though. The nights might be hellish sometimes but when you get that beaming smile in the morning you forgive them anything. Make sure you have a lie in now though, whilst you still can. Definitely the thing I miss most. Smile

Glad all is going well for you Rom, when do we get to see lovely Romi?

Off into my mad baby world again, will post again soon hopefully.
xx

romilly · 10/04/2006 17:33

hi there all my old pals. sorry i have been immersed in the world of babydom - you all understand i know.
george - i couldnt agree more with your post, think 1 might be my limit too! total respect to cadmum and DQ!
can understand why people get broody and forget all the hard work though, the baby stage is sooooo special.

well we are about to move after easter, yikes. dont know how i will get my act together to move Shock

nemo - really hope little hannah is on the mend now, poor little thing. worrying for you too.

bella - getting bigger by the week i trust Smile

debbsy - you too, dont worry about twinges, it sounds like ligament stretching, all normal. if you are really unsure go to your docs, cant hurt to be cautious.

friz and cadmum - i havent ventured over to the postnatal thread yet, have you? dont have the time tbh.

big hello to munzie, dq, handbag, ybear, tabs M&MB, rosylizzie and wendy (wendy how are you getting on hon? would love to hear what you decided)

back soon, take care all x

romilly · 10/04/2006 17:35

quick question to the expert mummies on here - what age can you put them down on their fronts to play? romi is now 3 weeks and i am going to get her a playmat tomorrow as she is in need of more stimulation already.
