Hope nobody minds me starting a new thread but I only get 5 mins at a time to read and post and the thread is taking me that long to read and then when I click add message it takes forever.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frizbe · 24/03/2006 08:43

DQ dd2 is kind of sleeping! did a 4.5 hr stretch last night, not to be moaned at!

Handbag hope your placenta's moved Smile

Wendy good luck with the climbing Smile have you thought about IVF in Spain, seem to remember a BBC programme about it recently?

Rom hope you got some more sleep last night Wink and aren't feeling too shattered by it all

Hi to everyone else nice to see us all still on here Smile

Bella23 · 24/03/2006 10:41

Wendy - glad you are feeling more positive. There is always a spanner in the works isn't there when making a decision, I hope you manage to hear from the clinic re dates so that you can go ahead with planning attending your friend's wedding. Its very frustrating as with all you need to think about it would help if you could have all the facts laid out in front of you rather than trying to second guess timings and dates.
Hang in there, you really are being tested over this but just got to keep your head down and be a determined mule about it!Wink

DQ - so lovely to hear that you feel content, such a great feeling! I think you definately qualify for being a grown-up now - I think 4 kiddies makes it official!Grin

Rom - ooh so excited to think of you at home with your little bundle, all new and gooey! I can only imagine all the feelings that come in to play the first time you bring a baby home - I can't wait to see what its really like myself.

Nemo - feelng broody already??? Lordy Lord womanGrin yes promise to enjoy all pregnancy, might have to come and find you in the height of summer to remind me to be enjoying it when I am fat and sweaty!

M&MB - yippe to be 9 weeks, almost of the home stretch. Bless your little DS announcing you were pregnant before you found out - get him to guess the sex, would be so cool if he turned out to be right!

Well love to all the rest of the ladies, do we think Spring is finally a coming??? I swear Winter snuck in an extra couple of months!!

Am off up north visiting my parents and the in-laws next week so am getting prepared to be the Queen Bee for a week, can't wait!!

georgeandwigglyjake · 24/03/2006 10:42

My, it's busy over here.

Rom, my little monkey boy was one for huge marathon feeds to start with. 1st couple of weeks were barmy. We ended up following the baby whisperer routine & limiting his feeds to 45mins (one side only each time) every 2½ / 3 hrs. Big fan of hers now as she got me some sleep!!!
I'm a vote for Romy or Daisy here. Smile

Tabs · 24/03/2006 11:13

Vote for Daisy here. Are we helping by all picking diff ones?!

It's great to hear everyone doing so well at the moment. Just Wendy needed to complete the pack.

Bella - don't forget to take pictures of your bump at various stages so that you can look back on them in the future, and compare your own progress every few weeks. I kept saying that I hadn't got bigger week on week, but DH would come back from his week away and tell me that I had, so pics were needed to convince me!

MAMB - that sounds about standard for docs appointment. The first time I also got told the risk of miscarriage (serves me right for asking if I could tell people!), and the second time he told me not to go doing what I did the previous time (ie miscarrying)!!! He is a nice doc though, and meant it in a nice way, IYSWIM.

So, Handbag due next - trust you'll be posting more often once you're on maternity leave so that we can all get excited with you?

Well we're very happy here again today. Copied this from Feb thread as can't spend all day on MN! Pippa had mammoth feed before bed last night - a whole hour of active feeding, but then slept from 10pm til 4:15, when she had a nappy change and another whole hour of feeding, before sleeping from 5:30 until nearly 9, when I got her up. I managed over 7hrs sleep during that time, and got to have breakfast before getting her out of bed - fab, we'll take more of that please!!!
She's having a nice nap again now, so I've managed to shower and dress too. Definitely feels like we've turned a corner over the last week. I had thought that Monday's osteopath session hadn't made a difference, but think that's just because the first session was such an immediate dramatic change, and this one has been more gradual. Can't recommend it highly enough to anyone still having trouble.

dramaqueen72 · 24/03/2006 15:58

freaking hell, this darn MN> you realise the HATE this thread is causing on the 'words you hate' thread? apparently the word beanie is offensive. and apparently -Angry- they are 'quite glad the people on it dont venture on to other threads'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
never never do i remeber it being so mean here.:(

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 16:28

SO HERE YOU ARE!!!! You can't hide from a sleep-deprived-crazy-Canadian-mother-of-four for long!!!! (OK, A few days at most perhaps.)

Sorry that you are finding MN so hostile at the moment DQ. I have always found that the playground bullies are lurking for the unsuspecting poster. I try not to become involved or care when it does involve me because at the end of the day it is easy to sit behind a keyboard and be critical of those seeking help. They are not made to feel accountable for their actions. These same people seem to find lots of time to post on attention-seeking troll's threads as well. In a way, it is what makes mumsnet more like real society: there are freaks everywhere!

(I hate to confess that I am not a big fan of the word beanie either but that is beside the point.) You are all an amazing lot and without your support over the last year and a half, I would not have maintained my sanity.

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 16:29

I will now read through this thread before posting again...

MeAndMyBoy · 24/03/2006 17:10

I've just added my post to the thread just had too.

You're right though Cadmum - the thread title really isn't what it's about, it's about a very special group of ladies who are here for all of us when ever we need help or to celebrate when there's good news too. Think it's a case of judging a book by it's cover.

HandbagAddiction · 24/03/2006 17:25

Yes - guess I am next on the delivery schedule! Scary to think about it really. I'm in two minds - half of me is saying 'yeah - bring on the maternity leave, can't wait to finish at work...and the other half is saying....bl*y hell that means I'll have to give birth again soon! So - here's a question for all your second, thrid, fourth timers....is it usual to fell more apprehensive about the birth this time around?

Having not known what to expect last time - I actually found the whole process pretty straight forward...and although I didn't exactly have a textbook birth - it wasn't bad. This time however, I'm already feeling very apprehensive about it and DH is not understanding why at all??!!

Lovely to see Wendy on here again too. We just need to find Debbsy and Milosmum from the old TTC thread!

So - hope you all have great weekends with those bumps and babies! Take good care of yourselves.. Smile

georgeandwigglyjake · 24/03/2006 17:32

DQ, you keep venturing out there don't you!!! Smile

Agree with Cadmum & M&MB, Beanies or not it doesn't change the fact that we have all given and received a huge amount of support from each other for over a year, which I am so thankful for.

Anyway, any of the new mums looking forward to mothers day? It's a first for me so I'm quite excited Smile

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 17:43

When is mothers' day in the UK? In North America it is not until May...

gothicmama · 24/03/2006 18:05

Cadmum it's on Sunday 26/03

rosylizzie · 24/03/2006 21:14

Hello there -decided to change my mn name from hereshoping as not hoping a pg will hang oni n there now - hooray! gone for a mixture of my 2 gorgeous dds names instead.
glad to see all the great news on this thread and sendnig lots of good luck to wendy
how are my fellow mumsof four going on? its a bit mad but brilliant here - the relationship between the older kids and the baby is great.
however unexpectedly v broody still - with older 3 at school am thinking roisin needs a companion..

Cadmum · 24/03/2006 21:55

rosylizzie: So great to have you posting again. I know what you mean about being broody again but I am DONE! DH keeps teasing me about wanting more but this pregnancy was full or worry and the labour and hospital stay were just too awful. I think that I should stop while I am still loving being a parent. Haven't found it very insane with 4 yet but Charlie is being kind to me for now so we'll see in a few weeks...

dramaqueen72 · 24/03/2006 22:10

oh gosh whole load of us mums of four. lovely! I'm loving it, cant imagine what the heck you do in a house of less!LOL just alittle broody but am NOT going there. honest.
handbag, Yup, more nervous second/third time round. because you realise how much work it is, and exactly what you could be in for! absolutely normal. dont worry its going to be great.
george, I know I know, mn can be scary sometimes. I personally dont 'chose' beanie as an expression I use in RL. however, its become linked to you guys now, and am defensive of it!!! I know it was ages ago, but the support around my 2nd m/c was astounding. I would of crumbled away without it. so I LOVE beanie gang. Grin

Frizbe · 26/03/2006 12:03

Tabs hurrah also posted on feb so won't waffle here!

DQ really that bad haven't had much time to lurk elsewhere lately! must find time to check it out...

romilly · 27/03/2006 18:07

I love the beanie gang too Smile - really dont give a damn what anyone else thinks of the word beanie. luckily i dont have time to see the mean old cynical threads at the moment. all i know is you are the greatest bunch of people and i feel honoured to be part of the bean clan Grin

thanks so much for all your votes! and, yes it did help

MeAndMyBoy · 28/03/2006 11:29

Frizbe · 28/03/2006 12:36

Am a badddd mother, had hardly any sleep last nighy, due to feeding fest, and then shouted very loudly at dd1 this am, when she was trying to help me by turning on the light in dd2's room so I could change her, trouble is I'd already said no don't turn it on, as I wanted dd2 in the dark and staying asleep.....ended up with dd1 wailing like a banshee...oopseeeeeee........must try harder to be better mummy......seems I'm not nice without sleep........but then what was dd1 doing up at 6am anyway Sad

Cadmum · 28/03/2006 14:54

I am also in the bad mummy camp. Charlotte and ds2 have a cold and I am way too tired now... Lat week it was a tummy bug for DS1, DH and I and now this? I am tired of being in this flat!!!
