Sorry I never posted again yesterday, was very down in the dumps but I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks for all the lovely supportive things ou all said. Had a wee cry with my mum, that helped I think.

Been having crampy pains on and off since yesterday lunchtime, nothing dramatic but we shall see. Was induced last time so no idea what natural onset of labour should feel like tbh, never been one to particularly get period pains and not actually had a lot of periods for the last 5 years (none for ages from being preg then bfing) then had mirena for 2 years then 1 period then pregnant again so can't really remember period pains to compare!!! Baby seems fine, still active, if less dramatically so - is doing Pilates in there rather than his usual aerobics so hoping this is a possible sign too...

Anyway - am just going to get on with my day rather than sit analysing every twinge - dh is away out all afternoon so I'm taking my older boy into town to go shopping and lunching etc. hopefully I won't end up in waterstone's toilets legs akimbo giving birth having turned out to be one of those women who don't even realise they're in labour!!!

Good luck to those being induced (emily kveta and anyone else I've forgotten..) will try to keep up with thread today on iPhone when out and about. Have a good day everyone - labouring vibes to all!

JBurge · 12/06/2012 10:37

I also had a very down day yesterday but am a lot happier today. Prob because I'm going out rather than sitting around the house. Only going over to my sister's with my Mum to babysit my nephews, but it's better than nothing.

I could be imagining it but, I think I'm finally starting to loose my mucous plug, pretty sure there was a small amount on tissue this morning.

Have a great day everyone, Rachel Good Luck in Waterstones! :)

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 10:51

Hi all, I am in so much pain with this sweep is that normal anyone know? Its periody but more tender when I sit or bend so its not promising in the least I don't think. Just painful and I feel quite faint, sort of regret having it in a way. Anyone know how long it hurts after?

Also I am losing sticky stuff but its not pink just yellow so am guessing not my plug?

So fed up! I am no longer getting BHs either star! Argh come on baby. On the plus side everyone at school was very nice to me lots of oh no thought you'd be here with a pram today comments but sympathetic ones-think I look ill so people are being nicer!

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 10:56

Yellow is the ACTUAL plug colour. It is pinkish sometimes because it can break blood vessels on the way out but it doesn't always.

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 10:57

However, sweeps can increase chance of infection so if still feeling rough or temp goes up, get to GP.

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 11:03

Oh thanks-was being impatient so just started a thread but that answers my question. And thanks, will do, hard to know whats what as I have a tooth abcess so am just feeling rubbish anyway. Am having a lie down and will see how I feel. I think I may not have the second one on thurs.

JBurge · 12/06/2012 11:20

Used I'd say that sounds positive! Rest up as much as you can!

sewingandcakes · 12/06/2012 11:47

Hi,

I'm getting fed up and feeling more uncomfortable; lots of pressure in my pelvis.

Trying to remind myself that no baby stays there for long! Also I'm going for short walks and reading while I still can.

Having the odd BH but going to deny thinking it's labour until I can no longer.

Good luck to everyone else, your baby will come soon xxx

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 15:05

Thanks, still nothing doing here. Still got pain but it seems this is normal for 24 hours after a sweep, more sore than pain really, ugh!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 12/06/2012 15:47

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind I'm just marking my spot to keep an eye on updates from people I moaned with on the last thread Grin.

Baby blue is 2 days old now and is lovely. I'm still a bit battered from the back-to-back induced labour with a 9lb 10 baby though!!

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 16:08

I reckon all the babies are simply sheltering from the rain! They'll come out if when the sun does.

rrrayray · 12/06/2012 17:08

Starlight - don't say that. Hampshire is supposed to have rain for next 10 days. Buggers my plan of a baby!!!!

Used2be- I found only my first bit of plug was blood tinged, since then it's been yellowy or brown, glam things of pregnancy.

Hope it's going well for those of you being induced!!!!

Had sweep and MW again today. 2-3 cm and soft etc. So all good signs but still no baby!!! :-( I didn't realise (nieave perhaps) that you could get that dilated without being in labour!

Had reflexology this afternoon which was nice and relaxing if nothing else.

Today is my anniversary, so a baby would be very good timing. Plus my DH starts jury duty tomorrow so prior to this would be nice.

Nipple stimuation and sex on the cards tonight. Come on babies!!!

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 18:12

Urgh, this baby needs to hurry up now. Dh's work have sprung on him today that he has to take his paternity leave no later than Monday. If I go two weeks over I won't be induced till tues night so he'll have wasted two days paternity for no reason. They are saying he has to do this as he has to be back in time for stock take (no one is allowed to be off during stock take ) After stocktake someone is on holiday so he can't be off then either. He's obviously pissed off about it but nothing he can do.
Anyway I called the midwife to ask about the induction process and she said it would usually be booked when I'm 13 days over but when I go for my appointment tomorrow she will call the hosp and check if they can do it earlier, either fri, sat or sun when I'll be 9, 10 or 11 days over. She said she can't promise anything but she'll try for us. Just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow I guess. I'll get a sweep tomorrow too.. Of course I might go in to labour myself before the weekend, yeah rightHmm

Twittwooo · 12/06/2012 18:23

Dairy - can they do that legally? I remember reading on the Directgov website that paternity leave cannot be taken before the baby is born. I know that some companies are a law unto themselves and tricky to challenge, but I would check it out. Either way, it's rubbish that the situation is putting you under this stress. Good luck!

JBurge · 12/06/2012 18:34

I'm pretty sure they can't do that either! Defo get it checked out, does he work for a large company or a small one?

McKayz · 12/06/2012 18:38

Dairy Look here He can't legally go on paternity leave before the baby is born. My XH employers tried to make him go on pat leave 7 days before I was even due.

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 18:46

I don't really know. It's difficult where he works because they are a small team of 4 so if one person is on holiday then no one else can be off. I don't really understand the whole stock take thing but I think it's something to do with being accountable if anything is counted wrong or goes missing - super boringHmm. The other problem is that he only gets one weeks full pay so he has saved holiday up to use, so technically his first week will be paternity and his second week will be holiday. His boss is a total arsehole and always plays by the rules too even when a nicer person would see if anything can be done. If he takes his leave from Monday he will still have to go in on the 29th June for one day for stocktake which will be when he's supposed to be off with us. I can cope for one day but it's just annoying for something so trivial.

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 19:21

Thanks for the links Smile guess we'll see what the midwife says tomorrow and decide what to do from there.

One thing that has been cleared up is that his boss was also trying to say he had to take his paternity leave starting at the start of a week ie: mon-sun. The link says it can be started any day after baby born.

JBurge · 12/06/2012 19:25

His boss is clearly not playing by the rules in this situation! If I were your OH I would tell the boss that he's spoken to the citizen's advice bureau and he's been advised that they can't do this!!

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 19:35

I actually believe that his boss is such a moron he doesn't know the rules! He just doesn't think about anyone but himselfAngry he even booked my due date week off as holiday for himself, good job I didn't go in to labour on timeHmm

Twittwooo · 12/06/2012 19:39

I second what JBurge says. My DH used to work for a boss who sounds similar. Thankfully his current company are pretty good. They are also a fairly small team but the rest of the team have been told they can't take holidays over this period because DH will be off at some stage. I feel bad that they could have been on holiday for the last couple of weeks as I'm so overdue!

JBurge · 12/06/2012 19:39

But he's breaking the law! It is quite a serious thing!

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 19:50

dairynips my DH was told by HR at his work that he needed to give two months notice if he wanted to change the date his paternity leave started Hmm but of course his manager said that is very untrue!

I have less yellow stuff and less pain now, so disheartened with it all I am dreading waking up and heaving myself out of bed yet again tomorrow. Sorry I know thats really melodramatic I just feel like it is never going to come unaided.

rrayray so how long since the last sweep? fingers crossd this next one works.

used2bthin · 12/06/2012 19:52

hi blue! glad baby blue is settling in well, not surprised you feel a bit battered that is a good size!
