Baby Emilie arrived yesterday evening, 9lb 4oz of silliness! Won't go into details, but ended up with another forceps delivery, not fun. All ok so far though. Hope you all have snuggly newborns soon!

RachelWalsh · 13/06/2012 08:57

I'm having pains here, phoned midwife, she basically said unless they're distressing then there's no pint going in. They are getting really sore but I dunno I'm not sure. She was pretty dismissive, I suppose they usually are. Dh has gone off to work, he says he'll keep his phone on obviously. She said don't even bother timing them as you could be doing it for days. I am a bit scared to be honest, here on my own and not knowing. I'm sure it's nothing.

RachelWalsh · 13/06/2012 08:59

I just feel like distressing and painful are such subjective things.

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 09:01

Kveta massive congrats once againGrin

Rachel that midwife sounds awful! When I called the midwife the other day she said to call the hosp when there was a regular pattern to my contractions. The hosp here usually says to go in when they're about 4 mins apart. If it makes you feel better you could time them to get an idea. If you have a smart phone there are apps that do it for you. Depends how far away the hosp is too.. Another good indicator is if you are unable to talk through them then they're getting strong.

rrrayray · 13/06/2012 09:14

Kveta - massive congrats. Beautiful
Name too.

Burge - hope lack of posting is a
Good sign.

Emily - sorry to hear things not going smoothly. I'm sure you'll be off
& have your baby before long.

rrrayray · 13/06/2012 09:16

Oops sent before finished

Rachel - silly midwife. How can she think that's constructive to say. Listen to your body, if they keep vamping up
Then perhaps get DH home as
At least then you have support.

Good labour vibes to all.

Today is my due date but with DD being 2 weeks early I feel ever so over due as been being told by midwives and everyone else to expect this one at 38 weeks too! Urgh! X

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 12:53

Off for my sweep at 2 and to find out if I can be induced earlier. No sign of any kind of labour happening, I'm sure my pregnancy is now going backwardsHmm

shellywellybaby1 · 13/06/2012 13:09

Good luck Nips!!! Let us know how ur sweep goes - i am very nosey as to what actually happens! Got one booked 4 days after my due date so prayin bubs comes before hand!!

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 13:28

hi everyone. Dairy good luck with the sweep, I've got my second one tomorrow if I decide to go ahead. Just had a walk, cheered me up momentarily anyway.

rachel the midwife sounds horrible! Good luck jburge and emily hope things progress soon.

sewingandcakes · 13/06/2012 14:51

Good luck to those of you who are in labour/hospital.

I'm now 40+4 and other than general crampy feelings and funny trickling feeling behind my nipples, nothing is happening.

Even though I've been through labour twice before I still think the baby will never come out! Silly really, as I know that these few days of waiting will be of no consequence when I have a newborn to care for...

Off for a long walk later and tea and cake tomorrow before I see the midwife.

RachelWalsh · 13/06/2012 15:54

Well - he's here! Phoned hospital back as pains quicklygotworse, dh came home and we got here about 10am, baby boy born at 1.04pm. Had a wee bit trouble with his breathing and went to scbu but is fine now, have to stay over but have own room so not too bad. Not a stitch either so feel not too bad if a bit dazed!

McKayz · 13/06/2012 16:14

Wow!!! Congratulations Rachel!! Im sorry he had to go to scbu but pleased he's doing well now. Seems like a very speedy birth.

Dairy I hope the sweep works.

McPhee · 13/06/2012 16:16

Many congratulations!!!

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 16:34

Massive congratulations Rachel! Sounds like a quick birth.. Glad baby is out of scbu now

Sweep was ok, she said I'm a stretchy 3cm and partially effaced. Bishops score of 6.. The hosp wouldn't book my induction any earlier so they booked it for wed 20thHmm My dh will currently be negotiating with his boss what will happen if I end up 2 weeks over and he can't take his leave till the wed. Just an extra stress we really don't need..

Hoping as the situation was favourable that I'll go in to labour soon. Fingers and toes (but not legs) crossed!

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 16:49

Dairy I will be wed 20th too most likely-or worst case fri21st. Poor you with the DH thing though hopefully it will happen of its own accord soon-although people keep saying this to me so I know it doesn't feel that way. Got my second sweep tomorrow, really worried I don't dilate though after having to be induced with dd after 24 hours of contractions and waters breaking got me to 1.5cm!

Wow Rachel thats brilliant congratulations! And kveta! hope you are recovering well.

sewingandcakes · 13/06/2012 16:50

Congratulations Rachel :)

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 16:51

fri 22nd I mean. Although going to ask for earlier due to how obsessive and worried I am getting. They will most likely say no though.

Alligatorpie · 13/06/2012 17:12

Glad to see so many of you have babies now. I had dd2 after there minutes of pushing at 2 am. So glad to be home and we are ready for a nap! Wishing the rest of you quick and imminent deliveries.

shellywellybaby1 · 13/06/2012 18:04

Congratulations Rachel!!! Thats was quick hehe!! Glad LO is out of scbu also!!

sewingandcakes · 13/06/2012 18:34

Congratulations alligatorpie! Hope you get a good rest.

McKayz · 13/06/2012 19:01

Congratulations Alligator!!!

rrrayray · 13/06/2012 19:22

Congratulations Rachel & alligator. Finally some babies seem to be arriving hurrah.

Dairy - sweep results sound ever so similar to mine, let's hope not too much longer.

Anyone else been loosing a good gloop of mucus every time of using the toilet? I had a massive show after first sweep, I mean like huge, with a bloody tinge through it, that was a week ago. Since then, just loosing mucus all the time. Very much different from heavy discharge all gooey, occasionally a bit brown or bloody, but largely like I've sneezed with an awful cold. Can't imagine there's much more up there!!!!

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 19:43

congratulations alligatorpie! Rrayray I wish! But the yellow stuff after the sweep stopped coming after around 24 hours and since then nothing much.

I bet the sweep tomorrow is hopeless too, I am not sure whether to do it since it hurt so much before-maybe I will say if I look as unready as before to leave it.

Dairy how are you are you sore after the sweep?

rrrayray · 13/06/2012 20:09

Usedtobe - the first few days of loosing mucus I was all excited, thinking it was a little sign of labour, but I've been loosing it for over a week now, and it's just a pain in the ass now as means going through loads of panty liners and clearly for this baby means absolutely bugger all. Just looks like someone keeps sneezing in my knickers.

Good luck with your sweep tomorow. You might surprise yourself, when I was checked a week before my sweep (query waters going, they hadn't) my cervix was totally closed and posterior. A week later was anterior soft and 2cm so sweep done easily. That said, fat lot of use my sweeps have done, I'm still here, still pregnant, and still grumpy GrinWink

used2bthin · 13/06/2012 20:20

Thanks. Ah dear its depressing isn't it? I am really tearful this evening. And can't stop eating!
