All the best McPhee lookin forward to reading about your lil arrival!!!

Dorchies · 22/06/2012 10:24

I'm just joining this thread. I am 40 + 5 today and have a sweep booked for this afternoon. Baby number 3 and i have never been late before so am finding it very tedious. Had reflexology last night, so am really soping something will happen today..............but nothing yet!

RightBuggerforit · 22/06/2012 10:41

Hello everyone, I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, just finished work yesterday (desk job) now at home with bad spd, trying to keep a 2.5 yr old amused while moving as little as physically possible! Desperate for baby to arrive so I can move/sleep/walk/breathe again!

Jesse - I was induced last time, nothing to compare it to (yet), but there wasn't exactly loads of waiting around. Induced at 6pm (due to waters going 48 hours before) and contractions started at 7pm! Really suddenly and very strong for a minute every 3 minutes or so. So it was like 0-60 in no time really. I had pethidine as soon as I could (they won't give you anything else until you're 4cm) and recommend it - I really needed something! Also used a tens which I really needed too, til I could have something stronger! Good luck, you'll be fine. xx

DizzyKipper · 22/06/2012 10:49

Hi all, sorry I've not been back sooner to update - I've been getting used to being a mum Grin Little baby girl arrived yesterday at 2.46pm, 7 lb 6oz. First stage of labour seemed to take forever, think it could well have been for about 30hours and at one point I was really worried I'd end up having to go to hospital for failure to progress, which the first lot of midwives were also concerned about, but she came in the end after 34hours 45mins (phew, when labour started I'd been thinking more along the lines of it being 12!). She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and so good - only a few tears straight after delivery and then immediately suckling. Right now downstairs with her daddy whilst I update you and get dressed. She's called Evie Smile

Good luck to everyone still out there awaiting your beautiful babies or right now in the process of having them! Thanks

jessebuni · 22/06/2012 12:22

congrats dizzy love the name Evie! And WOW nearly 35 hours of labour!!! That's ages! Well done you!

rightbuggerfotit see this is what i'm worried about. My last labour was such a breeze that despite having contractions every minute when I got to the hospital and them hurting loads I was already 6-7cm and had no pain relief at all. I'm worried that this time will be so much longer and I'll give in to the loads of pain relief. I'm also worried about be really bored in the hospital waiting. I mean last time I went to the hospital and it was less than 2 hours til pushing time so I didn't really have time to worry about anything but i'm worried this time I'll need to spend ages waiting to dilate to that stage and trying to find things to take my mind off of it.

shellywellybaby1 · 22/06/2012 19:49

Aww congrats Dizzy!!! How lovely!! Hehe!! Hope everyone else is doing ok!!

RightBuggerforit · 22/06/2012 21:47

Congratulations dizzy!

Jesse, I think you'll be fine, you sound great at childbirth, haha! I think a lot of my problem initially was the shock of it - as it was my first I had no idea what to expect and no build up. Your body knows exactly what to do this time. :) xx

McKayz · 23/06/2012 09:15

Congratulations Dizzy

How is everyone getting on?

DD is amazing. We're still not quite there with feeding but apart from that it is lovely having 3 children.

jessebuni · 23/06/2012 12:44

once again my midwife was supposed to come see me this morning for sweep number 5 just on the off chance it works before inducction day on tuesday and once again midwife has STILL not been and also not called to say she's running late or lost or not coming.

i know midwives are busy, particularly the ones in our area as there aren't very many of them covering a very large area but just a call to let me know would have been nice since i have a 3 year old running around driving me crazy because he's bored waiting at home with me and there's only so much playing i can do at 41 1/2 weeks with spd.

DairyNips · 23/06/2012 13:05

Massive Congratulations dizzy Well done for getting through such a long labour! Love the name, was on our list of girls namesSmile

jesse So sorry the midwife is wasting your day, it's so annoying waiting around for people, would be polite for her to at least call!

jessebuni · 23/06/2012 13:20

dairy exactly. it just wouly have been nice for her to ring and let me know that it was no longer going to be morning since it's now 1.20pm that's fairly obviously but at the moment how do i know if she's coming at all or if she's forgotten all about it? very frustrating. plus it's very hard to try and keep busy and forget about still being pregnant at this stage when you're looking out the window waiting for a midwife.

DairyNips · 23/06/2012 13:38

I think I would have to ring her and say I had somewhere to go so could she give an idea of when she's coming. The ones here don't seem too bad, when she came the other day she just turned up at 10am which was good as it was out of the way but I don't know if that was just luck of the draw.. I'm waiting for one to arrive to do Oscar's heel prick at the mo but they at least gave me a time slot, said it would be around 1.30-2.30..

jessebuni · 23/06/2012 15:17

i had no time slot just during the morning somewhen and i don't have a number for the midwife. i have a number for the doctors surgery during the week where i have to leave a message for her or the hospital switchboard if it's out of hours and i have to ring and leave a message there for a midwife to call back. kinda pointless doing either of those things really because i doubt anyone would actually know the answer. i'd just love to go into labour naturally about now just to inconvience them like they have me.....as horribly petty as that sounds... :/

DairyNips · 23/06/2012 15:25

That's annoying they're so difficult to get hold of. Not a very good service Hmm Hope she turns up soon.

emblosion · 23/06/2012 17:01

Hi ladies, can I join in?
40 weeks today, size of a house and can only move at a slow, rocking, wobbly waddle.

Usually most laid back but becoming increasingly impatient and vile tempered. Am bloody knackered, achy and uncomfortable and in no mood to contend with the hordes of well wishers that keep ringing/texting/emailing/facebook messaging to ask if I've had the baby yet!

Aaaaaaahhhhh!

Phew, feel a bit better now. Has anyone else still not given birth? Will I be pregnant forever?

mammadothebump · 23/06/2012 19:50

Hi emblosion - due date buddy! Hope your feeling ok. And fellow dd buddy shelly.

Now I'm officially 'there' I'm a proper mix of emotions. Excited, scared and definitely rageful. M-i-l phoned during tea for any news, in addition to 2 earlier texts and I went into scary pregnant lady angry mode! Poor dh is being verbally abused at the mo.

Ate a pineapple last night, just opened a jar of jalapenos. Its got to be soon!

With dd I got no 'signs', no show or waters just straight into labour. Would like to get the complete package this time!

jessebuni · 23/06/2012 20:05

welcome emblosion! Come join our suffering! I'm just nearing the 42 week mark and still no baby. Although things have begun looking promising today as i've had tightenings but not painful ones unfortunately....i'm just hoping my little one makes it here by induction day on tuesday!

at least we can all rest assured that we will not be pregnant forever even though the last few weeks drag like hell!

shellywellybaby1 · 23/06/2012 20:07

Hahaha i am defo doin the angry pregnant lady mode! Put my facebook status as i am in a bad mood leave me alone!!! Hhaha! Welcome onboard emblosion sending labour vibes to everyone. Fingers crossed ey!! Off to have another curry now.... :-)

jessebuni · 23/06/2012 20:12

i even tried a vindaloo and nothing so i've given up on trying to force her out. on my midwife's recommendation me and other half were doing the deed three times a day (agony for me with spd!) and nothing was happening so we've given up to just wait it out.

labour vibes everyone! try and stay positive....even when every single person you know keeps asking if you've had it yet or if there's any sign of the baby yet.

shellywellybaby1 · 23/06/2012 23:29

Aww Jesse u must be the most fed up person ever!! Really hope bubs makes an appearance b4 tues for u!!!

Just got back from seeing the MIL and she reckons that she will be able to come visit us in the hospital at 2am if thats when the baby is born - o but she will give is an hour to sort ourselves out... Is she for real?? Help me! Haha!!

mammadothebump · 24/06/2012 12:34

I'm sat on the stairs waiting for dh to come pick me up for our Sunday ritual of in law madness. He's taken dd swimming which I didn't want to do as felt I might be stared at!

Feel ever so bad for you jessi. Hope something happens for you soon. I'd love a twinge, a cramp, anything! Am constipated too after a foolish dominos decision! To the extent that (tmi alert) I bled a bit after a no 2 earlier. First reaction to that was delight thinking it was a show! Foolish foolish me.

I suspect there maybe an in law massacre today. There will be 15 of them!

DairyNips · 24/06/2012 12:40

mamma get some lactulose! It really helped me during pregnancySmile

jessebuni · 24/06/2012 15:25

I've actually had some proper pains today! hallelujah!!! they're like 8mins apart and not very strong but they're pretty regular so I'm hoping and praying like crazy! I'm 42 weeks on Tuesday so it better bloody be labour!

jessebuni · 24/06/2012 15:27

and lol mamma I had the same problem after a dominoes myself last week! I didn't bleed but it hurt!

mammadothebump · 24/06/2012 15:45

Ooh jessi they sound v promising! How strange to be excited and jealous of someone elses pain! Fingers crossed!

Well lunch was as irritating as expected. Most annoying comment was from m-i-l, 'so you're still with us?' A.) She is the 1st person who'd know as she's looking after dd when the party starts and B.) I'm not going anywhere, it sounds like I'm dying or something! Overdosed on jalapenos again.

Lactulose has been acquired, and 2 pineapples. My weekends rock!
