So far I have tried:

Raspberry Tea
Warm Baths
The birthing ball

Baby has been 2/5 engaged for ever 8 weeks so far, what is he doing and how is he hanging in there.

Although I do believe that this little one has spoken to his solicitor and has been advised that he is entitiled to stay put until his due date.

So come on ladies lets write a MN eviction plan. xx

Jakes skin is to very flaky and dry, its all over his body though, bless him I take a vest off and dead skin goes everywhere.its very bad, I've been using johnsons baby oil but doesn't seem to be helping THAT much.

kat1885 · 13/05/2012 16:49

Check to see if it has lanolin in it as some babies are sensitive to it and dry out further (DS1 was sensitive to it). The naturals is lanolin free and is lovely xx

Glad that you are getting help for your anxiety Kat it is really hard, to feel like that , get the Dr to check your dosage as I was completly spaced out on them before the Dr altered the dosage.

I am the same about germs especially around Harry's things. He has a butchers block in the kitchen that we keep sterilised and nothing non Harry related is alowed on it.

I have been a nervous wreck re the dry skin in case people think I am not looking after Harry properly. We are using the Johnsons bedtime range and that seems to help, some days (also smells lovely) .

We also find that using baby wipes on the areas that are dry rather than water seems to clear it up a little bit. Harry curently has mik spots on his chest which DP and I thought looked like a rash and then we panicked about meningitis. My mum looked and said "milk spots"

xx

As much as I don't like you feel the same way I'm glad I'm not the only one. I will talk to them about the dosage although today I don't feel as bad so I may be getting used to them.

Aaron slept for 7hrs last night, its the second time he has missed one of his night feeds. Should I be waking him for a feed at this age? Never had this problem with ds1 as he was a greedy boy xx

Can I join yet? 36+2 and my hips are killing!

Yummymummyyobe1 · 15/05/2012 20:31

Hi kat I know what you mean but it is always nice to know you are not alone. I wish Harry would sleep for 7 hours in one go, he slept from 22:00 unti 01:00 and then was awake from 01:00 until 03:00. He slept for 2 hours waking at 05:00 and stayed awake until 08:00. I would let Aaron sleep as he will let you know if you needs anything. xx

Hi BlueAndRedMakePurple feel free to join in. I remember how that felt, but it will be worth it. xx

yummy harrys sleep times at night are exactly like jakes! Lol xx

kat1885 · 17/05/2012 09:10

Does anyone's baby have really bad milk spots? Aaron has loads and although I know it's not my "fault" as it is caused by hormones passed to him in utero does anyone know of what I can do to heal them?

confuzed90 · 17/05/2012 16:51

Yes, jakes got them, as well as a lot of little red spots (midwife said its just imbalance in hormones and trapped pores)
Don't think there's anything you can do

Yummymummyyobe1 · 18/05/2012 19:34

confused it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't sleep so much during the day. Kat Harry has them and the only thing you can do is wait it out. I thought they were measles and freaked slightly. Also then with the snuffles though it could be meningitis. xx

Had hv today who said milk spots look fine. My lil fatty has also gone up to 8lb 7oz! He has gone up 9oz ish in less than 3 weeks!

How are all the other mums and babies doing? Xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 19/05/2012 22:09

Harry was weighed yesterday and has gained 1lb in under 3 weeks. That's great news Kat it is always reassuring when you can see that your LO is doing well.

I was amazed Daddy had Harry on the floor on his tummy today and he was pulling himself into a mini crawl position. The HV said she was amazed that Harry can focus so well and also can actually smile already. So proud of our little man. He is also getting quite good at supporting his own head for a short time. xx

He is good thank you asleep in my arms as I write. He's going through a growth spurt and I've started putting him in some 0-3 clothes, they are still a bit big but he's getting a bit long for newborn. I forgot how fast they grow :(

Yummymummyyobe1 · 21/05/2012 11:27

Harry is the same he is out growing his newbaby things to quickly for my liking.

Mean mummy and daddy are going to start a feeding, sleeping routine today.

We are going to get him to bed for 22:30 every night and then Harry wakes at 06:30 anyway. So we are going to feed and change him every 3 hours during the day.

Routine should go:

06:30 Feed and bum change, cuddles
07:30 Back to bed for three hours (in the Big Cot)
10:30 Feed and Bum change games stories and cuddles
11:30 back to bed for two hours (big cot)
13:30 Feed, bum Chnage and walk on the prom.
14:30 Sleep time (in the big cot 2 hrs)
16:30 Feed, change, cuddles etc
17:30 Sleep time
19:30 Wake time for the rest of the evening cuddles with daddy, feed.
20:30 Bath and clean bum feed
21:30 Change Time, feed and story time
22:30 bedtime.

Hopefully we should get a better nights sleep this way. Wink

How old is Harry now? We are trying to get Aaron into a kind of routine, not for sleep yet but for feeds - trying to eek him out to 3 hours but sometimes he is just too hungry.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 21/05/2012 17:03

Harry is 3 weeks old (yesterday) Harry is the same and can manage a double bottle feed most feeds. xx

OP posts:
kat1885 · 21/05/2012 17:30

Same age as Aaron then (he is 3 weeks today). It is 2.5hrs since last feed and he wants it NOW (DH turn as he finished work at 3 to come and register Aaron with me). Suppose it's like us though - sometimes we just want dinner early (pasta is on.....) How many oz do you give him? Aaron is having 4oz now but drains it. Reluctant to give him 5oz though as he is still sometimes sick after feeds. DH keeps going on about putting him on hungry baby milk but I don't think its needed (DS1 was on it but can't remmeber at what age). You would think I knew what I was doing as he's my second - 4 years is such a long time though I have forgotten Confused

Yummymummyyobe1 · 21/05/2012 18:08

Harry can eat 8oz in one go. The hungry baby food is a waste of money the MW advised, and to offer extra feeds. Harry always wants his food straight away and it is usually as we are sitting down to eat (it is amazing how easy I find it to eat with one hand. LOL)

I really have to stop going out as I end up buying things for Harry in the past 2 days he has been bought toys and 15 books and currently have bids on two ebay sales in addition to the traditional wooden toys I bought him this morning. Daddy might take mummy's cards away at this rate, I was meant to buying myself some clothes (which I did) but not as much as planned as I keep seeing things for my beautiful boy. xx
