So far I have tried:

Raspberry Tea
Warm Baths
The birthing ball

Baby has been 2/5 engaged for ever 8 weeks so far, what is he doing and how is he hanging in there.

Although I do believe that this little one has spoken to his solicitor and has been advised that he is entitiled to stay put until his due date.

So come on ladies lets write a MN eviction plan. xx

sweeps are only offered after you have hit 40 weeks, 41 weeks routinely. Safety issues I think.

MrsJK · 24/04/2012 20:49

That makes sense - thank you! Smile

confuzed90 · 24/04/2012 22:02

I am due tomorrow, had my sweep yesterday (I begged) anyway...

Been to hospital, having contractions every 10 minutes even on monitor, been all day and they are so painful! Ii haven't dilated anymore..gutted. So am at home, been for a walk, up and down and up a hill lol. I feel shattered, awake all night with them. DS at mother in laws as hoping things progress tonight!
Glad your sweep went ok kat! They are quite painful arnt they! Hope it works for you. Mine has caused very painful, regular yet not getting close contractions.
Chocolate cake sounds amazing yummy!!
Xx

kat1885 · 25/04/2012 11:21

Sweep didn't work for me but I have another booked in for tomorrow. My womb is clearly far too comfy which in a way isn't a bad thing lol.

My MIL had DS1 last night as she is off today so she can spend some time with him so I just had an amazing lie in so it would be very convenient if I could go into labour today/tonight as I will have the energy to lol.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 25/04/2012 13:00

confused hope all is okay there and baby is on route. Will post a big slab of triple chocolate fudge cake to you with extra chocolate Wink. Perhaps A courier would be better though on an hour delivery time.

kat It really isn't a bad thing at all it means baby is very happy there. As we know our Baby's will not come when it is best for us but rather twhen is best for them.

DP and I are off to the day assesssment unit as baby's heart rate was a little high and it would appear has had a massive growth spurt in the past week. Fingers crossed all is okay. I have a sweep booked in for next Wednesday.

Hi all,
I left this thread after bubba was unexpectedly born early. My contractions started 3 hours after an acupuncture session! I honestly believe it was this that got things moving & would highly recommend it to all you ladies overdue/due. I also put my straight forward 4 hour labour with no pain relief down to this. If u can it's well worth the money.

Good luck all xxx

justhayley · 26/04/2012 00:21

Wow just read my first post here (the 2nd post on the thread) and I said iv decided to have my baby on Sunday - which I went on to do lol.

confuzed90 · 26/04/2012 07:49

Lol I think I'd be too scared to try acupuncture, well I'm officially overdue now :( I have been having contractions since monday, lost some blood last night, but still nothing to report :( I have really had enough now. They are getting more painful as the days go along but not progressing quickly. And nothing is happening down there... I have honestly completely and utterly had enough.
Hope everyone else is ok!! I think my induction dead line is end of next week :( find out tuesday.

kat1885 · 26/04/2012 08:04

Aww confuzed I know exactly how you feel.

I have been losing old blood since my sweep and last night I lost a bit of bloody mucus plug and this morning I lost LOADS! (the blood in it was brown though not pink so hope that's ok as I don't really know, didn't lose my plug on DS1 until I was in labour).

Have felt really nauseus since last night too so I am hoping these are all signs baby is going to make an appearance. I have 4 days including today before induction (and DS1 birthday).

confuzed90 · 26/04/2012 08:24

Aww 4 days left..hope it works for you! Mine was just a small streak of red blood in the mucus, nothing since. And major diarrhoea yesterday. Just got up this morning to sort DS out for nursery and I had the worst tummy cramp, felt horrible like I really needed to go toilet, went and nothing there. I don't want to get induced but now I just kinda wish itd hurry up! I sit hoping my waters will break as I've been told that's all theyl do in the morning of my induction as I'm dilated enough.
kat I wish you the best of luck for your induction, hopefully your more ready then I was for my first induction, I was still completely not ready at 40+11, but had to be done because of pre-eclampsia, which I've started worrying about again, as when I went to hospital my bp was 138/85, not that high I know but my usual is 90/55, she did it again and it came down to 127/85 which to me still seems high but she said it was fine. Xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 26/04/2012 12:18

Congratulations justhayley how is the little one/

I know how you feel confuzed90 I am fed up and want my baby. I made it clear I was impatient to the MW yesterday hence the sweep next week. Although the MW at the day assessment seems to think he might be here by then.

kat1885 hope all is going okay and baby is here in the next few days.

xx

kat1885 · 26/04/2012 15:19

Had another sweep and had some tightenings since (nothing major). I'm now 3cm and cervix is central and soft rather than posterior and softening so that's good news. Midwife doesn't think I'll go to Monday but we will see, baby decides no-one else haha.

I was induced first time too which was awful but that was due to OC on due date and body nowhere near ready so this time if I am induced should be a totally different experience.

My BP is up today - I'm normally 100/60 but was 130/70 - midwife said that is fine though and only swelling is in hands so should be ok.

Confuzed - lets hope our babies make their appearance without induction.

Yummy - hope your baby is here soon too :) xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 26/04/2012 15:46

Ha ha Kat I have learnt that baby is in charge even prior to birth. Yesterday this LO was very still and today he is the opposite and might even have crampons in there under my ribs.

He has three days and then I am sending daddy in there to get him Wink

Lol sounds kinda hopeful for us all!
I hope your sweep works kat, maybe go for a walk or seduce the fella? Heard that's very helpful after a sweep? Xx

LouisaJF · 27/04/2012 02:34

Well I had a sweep this morning (40 + 2) and went into labour this evening. Waters have broken, just waiting to go to the hospital. Exciting and terrifying all at once!

confuzed90 · 27/04/2012 08:08

Yay good luck!! :) xx

LouisaJF · 27/04/2012 08:54

Been sent home for a bit as we've got a fair way to go. As my waters have gone already, I've either got to go back when things vet a bit more likely, or turn up at 8 am tomorrow regardless.

kat1885 · 27/04/2012 10:03

Oh louisa I hope your contractions move things along for you - best of luck when you are feeling up to it let us know how it goes.

I have had more show today and my SIL is coming over this afternoon so we can go for a walk (at 10 days over I don't feel comfortable going with DS on my own just in case). We are going rain or shine (i.e rain) all waterproofed up as we are now certain the only thing that will move this baby along is a walk.

Back feels a little achy but I think it's down to tossing and turning last night as I most certainly cannot get comfy now.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 27/04/2012 11:41

Good luck LouisaJF.

Sounds like things are getting started there Kat. I can feel your pain I am unable to sleep properly I have Baby Harry's feet under my ribs and head in my groin and giving me irregular contractions.

How are things Confused?

Hi Ladies, can I join?

I'm due tomorrow and desperate not to go to 42 weeks. My bump is huge and my back and pelvis have been sore for weeks.

I had my first (of three) sessions of acupuncture this morning. I've never tried it before and found it rather strange! My right leg kept twitching which apparently is a good sign and the baby was going crazy. I've got an appointment with my midwife on Monday to talk about further eviction strategies if nothing has happened over the weekend.

I've been trying to keep mobile but even after a short walk my back is killing me. Hot curries, raspberry leaf tea, colosutrum expressing, cake for energy and ahem action with DP have been my back up plan.... no joy so far though!

Good luck Louisa!! It sounds like you'll be snuggling your newborn very soon.

Best wishes to everyone else too!! :)

Yummymummyyobe1 · 27/04/2012 12:57

laughingGnomette Fingers crossed baby will be here tomorrow. I can sympathise with the back ache and pain in the groin. I have a sweep booked in on Wednesday (I will be 40 + 3). Hopefully your baby will be good and arrive on time.

:)

Thanks Yummymummytobe! I'm not feeling too hopeful anythings going to happen but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Good luck with your sweep on Wednesday but hopefully you won't even need that and your baby will arrive sooner!!

The idea of a sweep makes me a bit nervous but I guess anythings worth a try!!

Come on little ones, dont be shy :)

Yummymummyyobe1 · 27/04/2012 17:11

This little one is not shy in mummy just not ready to say hello to the world and the possiblity of two social gatherings in his first month. (How can an unborn baby, already have a social calender?) He has a 40th b'day at the beginning of May and a Wedding at the end of the month. Wink

Hoping he comes by Wed. xx

Just an update - went for a walk this afternoon and have had some crampy pains, bit of backache and some tightenings since then - hoping it doesn't go away. Got a curry on the way too which I am looking forward to eating :)

confuzed90 · 27/04/2012 20:15

My update... In hospital 3-4 cm. Contractions hurting a lot, they suddenly went to every couple of minutes and really intense. Just walking around and on birthing ball to try and get into established (4-5cm) xx
