So far I have tried:

Raspberry Tea
Warm Baths
The birthing ball

Baby has been 2/5 engaged for ever 8 weeks so far, what is he doing and how is he hanging in there.

Although I do believe that this little one has spoken to his solicitor and has been advised that he is entitiled to stay put until his due date.

So come on ladies lets write a MN eviction plan. xx

A nap?? Haha wishful thinking lol. DP doesn't let me nap in day, and nor does DS, not had a nap in the day this whole pregnancy. Hopefully we both not got long :) xx

kat1885 · 17/04/2012 16:16

Just had the midwife and baby is still 3/5. I'm bang on 40 weeks now and they won't sweep until a week today - say if nothing has happened they want to induce at 13 days over - that's my DS 4th birthday. I NEED THIS BABY OUT NOW!!!

Yummymummyyobe1 · 17/04/2012 16:50

You need your rest Confused but fingers crossed our LO will be here soon.

kat1885 Baby will come here soon. Smile

kat1885 aww surely they will induce you a little sooner if you tell them? And as for the engagement, second or more babies can engage in labour. So try not to worry too much. I know its hard :(

I am feeling rotten at the minute, feel sick to the stomach and just unbelieveably off. Headachy n crappy.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 17/04/2012 19:10

It sounds like things could be moving for you Confused some women mention they feel under the weather before going into labour. xx

confuzed90 · 17/04/2012 19:24

Yummymummyyobe1 to be honest I'm sick of looking for the signs and hoping that its the start of something. Just to feel disheartened when its not. Just gonna ignore the pains/sickness/tightenings until they eventually become regular and strong .the repetition of thinking 'is this it' is just making it so much harder to let time go by.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 17/04/2012 20:07

I hear you confused trying to ignore it all as I feel really disappointed when it is nothing. Let both go and eat chocolate Wink. xx

kat1885 · 21/04/2012 09:11

confuzed90 I have started to ignore all the "signs" as to be frank it's all been a load of crap so far. I won't get excited until I can't talk and I'm wondering why I decided to have a second baby - that's when I'll be in labour lol.

40+4 now - going for a long walk later to get things shifting (hopefully!).

confuzed90 · 21/04/2012 11:11

Lol best thing to do isn't it? Ignore all the signs.sick of waiting! Its so hard being pregnant at the best of times ( some people love it some people don't) I'm afraid I don't, and certainly don't intend on anymore. yes holding them for the first time, priceless. I have a sweep on monday! I know I have 4 days left till my due date BUT I begged midwife. I am in so much pain from it all its making me feel depressed. I am really hoping for it to work, going for a super long, hilly walk afterwards and then home to blitz the house on hands and knees! Lol.

Good luck for your walk! Hope it works..find somewhere with LOTS of stairs. I find multi-storey car park stairs are fantastic :P xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 21/04/2012 11:38

Good luck with walk Kat. Ha ha Confused stairs are rubbish we have 2/3 flights in the house very steep and nothing, zero, Ziltch. Hope the sweep works (I wonder why it isn't called a Sootie Wink)

I'm at the MW again next Wednesday and she is hoping that she won't be seeing me and baby will be here. As if, although now that daddy and mummy have decided that the nursery really needs to be finished you know what will happen.

Well I'm now 40+6 and still nothing. Thought I'd lost some water on Sat so rang the unit who told me to come in and be checked - had a look was just a heavy watery discharge and that was that.

I had an internal and cervix is still posterior, long and closed, baby is still only 3/5 and head isn't fixed - she couldn't even do a sweep while she was "up there". When baby's heartrate was being monitored though I was contracting irregularly so my strong braxton hicks are actual contractions which are doing sod all. I was told "you are nowhere near going into labour".

Yesterday and today had some snotty looking clear discharge but not even getting my hopes up it's my plug - I prob picked my nose in my sleep and put the bogies up my foof.

Hope my midwife has better news for me tomorrow!!

confuzed90 · 23/04/2012 12:46

Oh sorry to hear that! It probably is your plug as internals can dislodge them.however, they can regenerate.

I've got my sweep at 2!nervous much, got a feeling itl do nothing but I can hope! I think the feeling that itl do nothing is there because I have convinced myself that the baby is never going to come! Lol.

At your midwife appointment tomorrow your induction will probably be booked, that's if your wanting one?
Xx

kat1885 · 23/04/2012 13:24

This is a strange one. I want the baby out (as in he is measuring big on scans so the longer he is in there the bigger he will get) and it's my DS birthday on 30th so getting very impatient.

I was induced on DS 1 though (medical reasons not due to him being late) - cue 26 hour labour, loss of DS heartrate, him getting stuck and a near EMCS (had vontoose - 1 pull only was allowed, thank goodness he did come out and he was fine).

I am now terrified of the same thing happening again - this time with a larger baby. Dunno whether I should request an ELCS rather than go through all that again to end up with an EMCS. So conflicted as DH doesn't drive so NO CS is what really needs to happen.

I hope your sweep goes well though and gets things started - let us know how it goes.

confuzed90 · 23/04/2012 14:32

That's awful I'm so sorry you've had a bad experience, scans arnt always right on size. I'm not sure what would be best? Have the doctors/midwife mentions ELCS?
Sweep went good, midwife very shocked that I have had him yet, cervix 1-2cm dilated, round the front, babys head right behind it and bag of waters bulging, could of broken them. But obviously they don't do that at sweeps. Cervix is very very favourable and expects labour to be imminent. Expecting some bleeding, said she had a really good go as cervix was so close and open/soft she managed to strip all the membranes around the cervix. Hope it works!
Xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 23/04/2012 14:59

kat1885 why wouldn't they give you a sweep you are now overdue. Boogies in the foof that would be impressive. I have forgotten what it looks like down there. Fingers crossed alll will be okay.

confused Glad the sweep went well if only babies knew that their lack of arrival causes confusion. Why can't they break your waters at the same time surely it is better for mum and baby that way. Hope the sweep works.

1 week this end and Harry is due. Hurry up baby mummy can feel you in her groin and making her bump drop on a daily basis. Trying to seduce my DP and it is failing. Not even his nursery being completed is enough to persuade him.

kat1885 · 23/04/2012 15:30

These babies can be very naughty lol.

confused - glad your sweep went well. Fingers crossed it starts it all off for you - especially as you're clearly ready. They haven't, they want me to be as natural as possible which I totally agree with if I go into spontaneous (sp?) labour, however, I think it was induction which caused my previous problems (although I would rather induction than my placenta deteriorate) - think I will write down a list of questions for my midwife in case I forget something.

Yummymummyyobe1 - they couldn't do the sweep as my cervix wasn't favourable, I am hoping to have one tomorrow but will only happen if my body is playing fair lol.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 23/04/2012 15:33

Bodies and Babies play unfair during PG and I am led to believe this continues for quite sometime afterwards. xx

OP posts:
confuzed90 · 23/04/2012 17:41

Lol. Well make sure you get the best possible induction, when you next at midwife? Tried using primrose oil to soften cervix??

Well I'm trying not to jynx things or get hopes up, contractions are coming around 12 minutes at a time. Been for a long walk with DP and DS, going home now then going to jump on DP :P midwives reccomendations so has to be done lol.
Xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 23/04/2012 18:37

It sounds like things are moving there confused they do need to be done if medically advised. Wink xx

OP posts:
confuzed90 · 23/04/2012 18:53

Oh yea sorry, can't break waters unless in hospital as a method of induction. Hope so! Trying to ignore it but its hard. They do seem to be getting worse. Xx

kat1885 · 24/04/2012 08:15

Confused - I really hope you have either had your baby or are in full blown labour and are not far away.

Will update after I have had the MW today.

confuzed90 · 24/04/2012 08:21

I wish...was having contractions every 5 mins then dropped down to 3, but wernt lasting that long so stayed home, until 4.30 this morning when they just disappeared!I'm shattered :(

Good luck xx

Yummymummyyobe1 · 24/04/2012 13:01

Confused hope it all gets started again. Rest remember a balanced diet at this point is a slice of chocolate cake and a large hot chocolate with the works.

Let us know how you get on Kat

xx

OP posts:
kat1885 · 24/04/2012 15:42

Aww confused, that's pants. I'm sure you will be getting your cuddles soon xx

Yummy - that sounds like the best diet in the world, I would very much like some chocolate cake.

I have seen the midwife. Had S+S (owch!) had a bit of blood on the glove which is a good sign (or so I have been told). I was also 1-2cm dilated although cervix is still posterior it is thining Grin

My induction has been booked for DS birthday but MW said she would be shocked if I get to that date anyway (so fingers crossed). Another sweep is booked for Thu if I'm not already in labour.

MrsJK · 24/04/2012 19:22

Ladies, can I ask have you routinely been offered sweeps? I have my 38 week apt this week but so far no mention of a S & S Sad would happily get this baby moving ASAP! Thanks
