I always forget my stats!

londonlivy that is the best name check post. You deserve extra marks for your baby brain being able to concentrate on anything for that long. I salute you. And most of the things you said you have eaten are fine. Shellfish just needs to be cooked, peanut butter all good and mayonnaise is rarely the kind you can't eat as hardly any lazy bugger does it properly these days. So you are in fact a very good incubator indeed.

MickeyTheShortOne · 25/03/2012 21:06

P.S. I so excited for my bump.... After weighing myself I have decided it is just belly , I've put half a stone on!!!! I don't think I can blame that on the baby.. Just eating far too much and can't go to the toilet enough Blush

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 21:11

MTSO half a stone is impressive. I am off to down a fybrogel as mr pooh hasn't visited for a couple of days and I miss the little bastard. 40, 9+2, 1DD

I'm reluctant to use the term "womens problem's" as have onluy been in the job a few weeks - I am covering the Team Leaders maternity leave so think suspicions would immediatly be aroused! However I do have a pre-existing medical condition which they know about so could always use that as an excuse.....will find out in the morning, wish me luck!!

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 22:25

Cwest i mange a big team and I would never ask someone why they have a hospital appointment. That they have one is good enough for me. As long as you go in to finish your accounts I am sure they will be fine with it. Good luck for Friday, totally normal to think you have imagined it all until you see the bean.

milk · 26/03/2012 09:02

Morning all :D Welcome to another sunny shiney day :D

Any scans this week? (my memory is terrible atm :( )

Guccigirl79 · 26/03/2012 09:33

Morning everyone :) from my absence on here i stayed away from the pooter after I last posted & managed to get my mind off the horror that I had read!! Had a good session with DP in the afternoon Wink which was novel as not been arsed up til now lol poor sod has been totally neglected lol
I have an obstectrics app about a week after scan re blood problem,so am guessing they want to see my scan before they see me perhaps.I wasnt overly concerned until i googled (stupid hormonal woman!!!) so am trying to put it out my head as best I can.

On a different note,I'm love love loving the beautiful weather :) I'm definately a summer girl (born August) so maybe that has something to do with it...probably not lol

Am off to do a bit of housework while I feel like it,see ya later!!!! :)

milk · 26/03/2012 09:43

All you lovely ladies doing house work... putting me to shame :P

squidkid · 26/03/2012 09:57

Hello lovely ladies

We're off on our hike! Catching the train and then walking home for 50 miles/3 days through the Peak district. We shortened it by one day in the end but I'm hoping to manage it fine - energy levels been loads better past week - and LOOK AT THE WEATHER!!!! I am in my shorts and sunglasses and raring to go! I'm not taking my vitamin D with me, ha ha. (I am taking sunscreen!)

Hope you all have a good week and thinking of anyone having scans this week... I want to come home to lots more good news!

bye for now,
squid / 32 / 13+6 / first kid

Guccigirl79 · 26/03/2012 10:46

Have a fab time away Squid hats off to you doing all that hiking, the housework is enough for me!!! lol

milk · 26/03/2012 11:41

Hope you have a great time squidkid :)

lisbethsopposite · 26/03/2012 12:54

*BHello all.

Squidkid a long walk sounds divine. You sound like Elizabeth Bennett - or did she go to the lakes? Anyway it all sounds very wholesome and sexy. Any scene with Mr. Darcy is sexy to me.

I am in bed today. Woke this morning to find myself bleeding, fresh clotty blood. (Sorry if that is TMI). I rang the EPU which is nearby, and they said to call and they would fit me in between appointments. Anyway, baby was fine, but they say any bleeding is not normal and I've been sent home for a week of rest. Bleeding has stopped, there was more on pad at the EPU. Work were great - some colleagues have been through similar and are really empathetic. So now I am here in bed, again feeling like a fraud - I am not sick.

Spoke with my best friend this morning. All her house have had flu and she has been ill for 3 weeks and babies ill also. She is really struggling, but owns her own business and is trying to keep going. She sounds completely bunged up on the phone - and here am I lying in bed with a magazine.[shame]

Bettybat I am a regular swimmer, and given the choice I rate myself a medium speed. A few years back I was in a 50m pool and there were lots of (slower) breast-strokers in the med lane and the fast lane was empty so I went in there. A faster guy got in and after a while said something to me about being in the wrong lane. I gave him an answer similar to the one you got - no one using the fast lane etc. Anyway the lane is 5 metres wide so there was plenty of room for him to pass me. Do you object to a faster swimmer passing you?

Obviously I have too much time on my hands. If this was hormonal anger of the type I have lately been reserving for dopey drivers, no explanation is necessary.

Zoep Can't stand that sanctimonious stuff. Well done for not holding back.

MrsPeggyPatch · 26/03/2012 12:58

Hello All!

Apologies, I'm afraid I'm a lurker- I was on the first thread and have followed since then, but held off posting again as was worried about 12 week scan and have been struggling to post what with sleeping all the time!

Anyhoo,12 week scan last week was magical, I have a bit of time, so thought would catch up and see how everyone is doing. It's been lovely to see how you are all getting on and hear all the scan news!

I have a question(if you don't mind a newbie jumping straight in with one!)...I'm interested in doing NCT classes, for a few reasons, a main one to meet Mummy friends- I'm London based so whilst have friends all over London, not so many within walking/1 bus distance where I live and I will also be the first to have a baby within my local friends. I have found a couple in my area- one very one in early September, and a much longer one in late July/early August. I'm due 1st October. I really fancy a longer one as it is more time to meet people, but worry that it is too early...Does anyone know when the best time to take the course is?

Thanks for the help- I'm going to try and become a more regular poster!

Guccigirl79 · 26/03/2012 16:28

Welcome MrsPeggyPatch lol at lurking :) cant help with NCT thing I'm afraid (bit rubbish with things like that!!) glad your scan went well it's so nice to hear more positive news, help yourself to a Brew & a Biscuit & join in :):):)

Sedgers · 26/03/2012 16:42

Hello ladies, another lurker here. 29/ 9+4/ First Baby/DD 25/10/12

I've enjoyed reading the thread so far..

Today I've taken my first day off work (sick) since becoming pregnant and am feeling very guilty. Had difficulty eating anything yesterday so this morning just felt sick/ awful etc. and just couldn't face what I knew was going to be a very stressful day. Problem is that I know I'll just feel the same tomorrow (and probably for a few weeks more). My boss still doesn't know I'm pregnant and my DH wants to keep it quiet until the scan (12th April) which seems an age away.

Cannot wait for second trimester!

Angelico · 26/03/2012 18:27

Hey ladies . Thought I would be posting a happy message this evening about feeling so great after exhaustion disappeared middle of last week. Had a lovely weekend, felt really well - apart from irritating dry cough which got worse yesterday teatime. Fast forward today, barking like a dog and coughing so much I got tiny bit of spotting. Freaked out and rang doc. Off work for next few days, on antibiotic for tracheitis and have to have scan 2moro morning to check bean is okay :( Also on 'light activity' for next fortnight - not really sure what that means. It seems to have possibly come about because of wretched cold a few weeks ago :( Coughing is terrible!

Angelico · 26/03/2012 18:34

And PS: at risk of sounding stupid I really don't know what light activity means - anyone any ideas?! What can I do and not do?

marvellousmarie · 26/03/2012 19:10

Hi all!

I've been so busy recently and can't keep up with all the posts! Hope everyone is well :-)

I had my 12 week scan today, actually due 7th oct. I was a bit surprised and extremely happy to see a heart beat as I've had on and off blood stains since I found out BFP! This morning I actually had fresh blood, not much but still enough to scare the living shit out of me! So when I saw the baby was well and bouncing about GrinGrinGrin but Confused now as to why I'm still spotting! Anyone had any similar stories or found similar?? I'm just worried about the baby coming earlier.

My Dd now knows too and it's a relief to put things straight at work. I suppose all I can so is hope and pray it all good!

I'm feeling so tired especially with clock change and eating well but very picky at times. I also need to wee like ALL the time! I've had thrush again and now have a cold. Balls! I want to have sex too lots but worried about causing damage! Oh I'm just the typical Virgo worrier!

Well that's me done, hope everyone is great and upcoming scans are positive! Smile

30 yrs, no%232 12+1

marvellousmarie · 26/03/2012 19:12

It's definately not child 232! More like number 2!

Kyyria · 26/03/2012 19:13

For those of you that have broken the news to your employers, what do you feel is the best way of doing it?

I don't want to say anything until we've had the first scan (no idea of a date yet). The difficulty being that work has been very up and down over the last 18 months. I was off with work-related stress and anxiety for 3 months last year (mainly because my boss was a complete slacker and a total knob!), we've had a management consultancy in and, low and behold, my boss got thrown out on his backside with a payoff retired after being on unspecified leave at the beginning of January. I'm covering both jobs and there is no replacement at present (interviews this week but I'm suspecting it's going to be a pretty crap bunch from what I've seen) and I'm guessing it's probably going to be July or August before they have someone in post. For as much as I am the one that has been put upon and used as a doormat I feel somehow that I'm going to be letting them down.

Also, I know they won't be keen as after I started (5 years ago!) my boss told me there had been a big debate as to whether or not to employ me as I was young, in a secure relationship and likely to go off and have babies!

I kind of want to put it to them gently but at the same time I also want to give them a two fingered salute and tell them that I'm putting me and my husband before work.

Any ideas??

FjordMor · 26/03/2012 20:46

Evening all! :)

Think 'we're' having a growth spurt today as I had uncharacteristic dizzy/weak/slightly sick/very tired/relentlessly hungry feeling most of the day. Thanks to all for the empathy about my 'between countries' nightmare! Thanks Immigration situation looks to be not as desperate as first thought as I barked slightly hysterically most of the morning at DP and got him to make repeated calls to the department of immigration in Norway, the upshot of which is that they will probably waive a few criteria as I'm both EU and pregnant. So we're just crossing fingers for no probs.

Angelico - hope you feel much better soon - that sounds pants! Would imagine 'light activity' involves minimal physical exertion and doing things that aren't too taxing or stressful.(?)

Welcome to previous lurkers Sedgers & MrsPeggyPatch :) Thanks Afraid I had to look up what 'NCT' was Blush.

Sorry to hear about the bleeding lisbethopposite and marvellousmarie. The good scans must be reassuring though. Fingers crossed it's just one of those things. Take it easy!

Zoeplankton - hurrah for you! How dare she do that to your moment! (huffs inwardly). What would she do if she saw a pregnant teen smoking outside a shopping centre? Effect a citizen's arrest?? Hope she feels very silly and remorseful and I'm glad your 'big reveal' was otherwise so enjoyable :)

On the upside for me, my rather premature (quite big) bump is starting to look very bump-like rather than just like a giant beer gut so I'm feeling a bit less like everyone thinks I ate all the pies. Lower back ache absolutely killing me though, even when I do anything that inclines me a little bit; washing hands at low sinks, hanging washing on a low airer etc. Mother's lodger thinks I'm a nutter always making wailing noises and swearing under my breath. Gets better when I do nothing Wink.

41, 11+2, first (& feeling every inch a 'geriatric mother')

jodidi · 26/03/2012 21:12

Welcome MrsPeggyPatch and Sedgers. Sorry I can't help with the NCT thing either, as I didn't bother with them in either of my previous pregnancies. I would probably go for the longer one a bit earlier if I was looking to make friends though. I found I made friends by going to groups with the baby, so bf support group, baby massage, baby sensory, etc. I'll be doing the same this time too, and trying to fit in toddler groups for dd2.
Angelico that sound horrible, I hope you feel better soon. I'm not sure but I would have thought light activity would mean you can potter around the house, wander to the local shop, etc, but don't do strenuous exercise, housework, gardening, anything else you don't want to do Wink

zoep well done for standing up for yourself, you are a grown woman and are capable of making your own decisions. One glass of champagne is hardly going to hurt.
marvellousmarie congrats on your good scan. I wouldn't worry about having sex, I was very demanding in the second trimester last time, so much so that dp complained I was wearing him out, nothing damaged the baby though. Grab it while you can.
CWest I just said I had a hospital appt when I went for my booking appointment, nobody questioned it apart from my friend who very quietly asked if it was a happy appointment. My boss was quite happy just to accept I needed to go, and I think he was quite glad I didn't go into detail about what was wrong.
Kyrria I told my immediate boss (but not my actual employer as yet) after my booking appointment, so it was quite early. I just spoke to him at the end of the day and told him straight. He said "fucking hell, you're not are you? Oh I'm supposed to say congratulations aren't I?" He's taken it quite well actually, better than dp did anyway.

I'm loving the sunshine, except at work. My classroom has to be the stuffiest room in the entire school, we have huge windows that only open the tiniest crack, the blind came down a few weeks ago and the caretaker can't/won't put it back up for me, so it's like a greenhouse. Add in 30 sweaty teenagers and you can imagine the odour Sad. Once i was home it was lovely though, sat out in the garden eating ice lollies with the kids, then went to the park even though it was bedtime. Brilliant.

Guccigirl79 · 26/03/2012 21:19

Evening (feebily waving) My feeling like a human being again has come to a screeching halt tonight!! Did a few housey jobs this morning then went to my friends to do her hair & in turn get mine done too,I have since come & stuffed my face almost constantly & am now vvv tired.I stripped the bed this morning & left it to air but now cant be arsed to even put the mattress sheet on & DP is engrossed in man u game, would it be really povvy of me to not bother tonight?? would it really be a big deal just once???
