The third instalment as we're a talkative bunch!

Oh no milk what a day you had, and no wonder you're devastated about missing your scan.
I really hope they can get it booked in again quickly for you.
Saying that, I was worried we hadn't heard from you last night so I'm pleased it wasn't anything more sinister!

YompingJo have a good day at your course...hope time doesn't drag too much.

Gucci feeling for your uninvited house guests, I'm good for nothing in the evenings at the moment!

Have a good day everyone!

Gucci of course I meant I was feeling for you...not your house guests!

That is true Haggis, no scan is much better than no baby.

At least now I have something to look forward to :)

milk · 22/03/2012 09:02

Velo has her scan today :) Good luck! I shall be thinking of you.

So my scan has been rebooked for Tuesday 27th March, at 4pm :)

londonlivvy · 22/03/2012 09:13

milk that sounds like a hideous day but as with Haggis, I had feared that something worse had happened so I hope you get it rebooked soon.

Ug re house guests - would not have appreciated that.

Well to make you chuckle people... I have resisted getting new jeans though mine are VERY worn out cos soon enough I'll be in maternity ones, right? So as I got dressed this morning at the gym at work (I cycle to work) the zip finally bursts and dies. Excellent. So now I am on a desperate hunt for a safety pin or risk spending all day hiding behind my desk. A bulldog clip seems to make matters worse by drawing attention to it... My other fave jeans split across the backside when I bent down for something recently (possibly pregnancy arse-expansion-related? ahem. Blush ) so two pairs left. One I can barely breathe in, even when not pregnant, the other I can see through the seat. I foresee some spending on temporary jeans. Primark ? Sainsburys? Any recommendations?

londonlivvy · 22/03/2012 09:14

milk just seen your rebook date - yay. And you're still ahead of me - I have to wait til the 20th April!!!

squidkid · 22/03/2012 09:40

milk I have been really worried about you too and checking back sneakily all the time! Whilst your day sounds horrible and stressful (I thought I was going to be late getting there from work too, and then I was stressed trying to get back on time too) I am relieved it wasn't a problem with the scan. GOOD LUCK! Glad you got another appt and it's not too far away.

milk · 22/03/2012 10:27

Blush I am so sorry if I worried people :( I was just so hormonal and tired last night :(

Zoeplankton · 22/03/2012 10:35

Scan today at twelve - eep!

Nervous, not getting much work done. But happy DH can come. I suspect it's going to hit him like a freight train.

BTW, ladies - I draw comics, and was considering drawing some pregnancy comics - I have a couple already. Would you be interested if I started posting them on a website?

DameFlatYouLent · 22/03/2012 11:32

Good luck today Zoe! I am just Envy at all these scans, and so impatient. Might have to stop checking this thread for a while or I'll go mad! My symptoms have reduced a lot in the last few days, which is freaking me out - they didn't go until well into the 2nd trimester with DS. Trying not to panic and just wait it out until the fecking 3rd April.
Off to hide now.

milk · 22/03/2012 11:51

DameFlatYouLent, with DS my symptoms only got better at week 20.

With this pregnancy my symptoms are getting better now (week 12), hence why I am even more angry at myself for missing that scan and now have to wait till Tuesday to make sure everything is ok.

MickeyTheShortOne · 22/03/2012 11:53

I'm with you Dame Flat My scan isn't until the 11th april, ITS SO FAR AWAY :(

Hi ladies I have just been lurking for the last few days, going back to work after having time off has been an absolute killer!! To make it worse I am on three evenings this week so I'm working til 10, then up til about midnight when I can finally get to sleep.. On the plus side the weather is beautiful and no early mornings for me this week, so it could be worse.
And to all those suffering with sickness, after being amazed how lucky I was to not be suffering with anything, I have started to have some serious bouts of nausea. Spoke too soon.
Hope you are all OK, I'm off to work in an hour..

DameFlatYouLent · 22/03/2012 12:04

milk we just have to hold on to the hope that 2 pregnancies are likely to be different. Only 5 days til your scan! I was the same with my last, better at week 20, but this time they started to disappear around 11 weeks. I'm so terrified of what I'll see at the scan when I finally go Sad

Velo · 22/03/2012 12:07

Hello All,

milk I felt so bad reading the sad saga of your missed scan. This whole pregnancy thing isn't always a very dignified process! I've realised that I hate getting out of bed to pee in the middle of the night pretty sure that I've had leakage by waiting too long!

Yes - I had my scan today! Freaked myself before hand by reading too much on the internet (I know, google isn't my friend) - but the scan went well and all the measurements are within the normal range. I know get a monthly scan until June and then forthnightly after that. I don't know if thats normal practice here in Belgium or if its just because I'm at the grand old age of 39!

Good luck Zoe and anyone else scanning over the next few days, let us know how it goes.

XX

HaggisNeepsTatties · 22/03/2012 12:11

milk glad you've managed to get your scan booked for not too far away (you're still ahead of me - I'm 29th)

Good luck velo and zoe hoping everything goes ok with your scans

mickey sorry you'r feeling sicky...hope it passes soon, but a good sign

All those worrying because symptoms have gone, now's about the time they would be expecting too, so I'm sure all is well.

Depending what I read baby is now the size of a lime, a plum or a fig at 11 weeks!

HaggisNeepsTatties · 22/03/2012 12:12

velo we crossed posts - so glad all was well with your scan!

milk · 22/03/2012 12:16

DameFlatYouLent, I know someone like us who had symptoms until 20 weeks with DC1, but then with DC2 she had no symptoms at all. I guess every pregnancy is different :)

velo- so happy your scan went well :)

DameFlatYouLent · 22/03/2012 12:29

milk maybe we're having girls?!

milk · 22/03/2012 13:37

DameFlatYouLent, I've been telling everyone that I am convinced I am having a girl Grin

Midgetm · 22/03/2012 13:44

mickeytheshortone snap my NT scan also on 11th.

Squid yay there is a baby squid and not an imaginary squid.

Milk bugger

milk · 22/03/2012 14:39

Midgetm- I know, lol. Originally I was like "fuck fuck fuck", but now I think about yesterday with a "oh bugger" feeling.

Zoeplankton · 22/03/2012 15:18

Still shaking my head at your rubbish luck, midgetm.

For my part - well, I went for my scan, and it turns out - there's a baby in me! Grin

We saw it wiggle. It was not... cute. Too much spine and ribs to be 'cute'. But I saw its hands and its legs and its tiny little chin! (I think.)

Then I came home and got irrationally angry about the glass pattern in our new front door. Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy!

Zoeplankton · 22/03/2012 15:40

Oh, and now that I know what they are, my stats -

32, first child, 13 weeks :)

milk · 22/03/2012 15:43

Zoeplankton, congratulations :D

HaggisNeepsTatties · 22/03/2012 16:19

Zoe so happy for you! And very jealous of those of you that are passed 13 weeks
