The third instalment as we're a talkative bunch!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I have lots of energy this morning Grin. Awake at 6:00, pounced on DH, cup of tea and now working. All this is great, obviously... but also worrying Confused.

Angelico · 17/03/2012 08:25

Enjoy those days Yomping - they are getting infrequent for me :( I am wide awake but tired - wish I could sleep. And pump up my bladder a bit, that would help.

Midgetm · 17/03/2012 08:55

yomping may have stolen our energy angelico. My MS normally comes later in the day but currently unable to get out of bed due to crippling nausea and exhaustion. This promotion at work was a bad idea. Covering up pregnancy whilst working too ridiculously hard. What have I done? So exhausted I can hardly get dressed for Pilates, let alone actually do it. Week 9 is a bitch.

milk · 17/03/2012 09:06

Midgetm, skip pilates and stay in bed! :) Get DP/DH to bring you breakfast in bed!

My DH is working all day today :( It sucks as usually at the weekend I stay in bed and he looks after DS. I miss bed day :(

I am also here to moan about wanting my scan right now!!! I know it is on Wednesday but Wednesday is too far away :P

nenehooo · 17/03/2012 09:07

HeeHee I'm so so sorry... thinking of you xxx

YompingJo · 17/03/2012 09:37

Tee hee angelico and midgetm at me stealing your energy. I'm currently running around the house, packing for a night away visiting friends and using all your energy up. Thanks for the lend - much needed! I'm sure it'll all vanish again soon and I'll feel shit and exhausted again. Sorry you're not feeling great though.

Midgetm · 17/03/2012 10:21

Did the decent thing and got out of bed. Poor DD was pretty much weeping with hunger so it was the right thing to do...half dressed for pilates. It's a start, not a good start. Need to take inspiration from yomping and find my bloody mojo.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 17/03/2012 10:48

Thank you all. I had some wine last and a good cry. This will work out next time, I am determined that it will.

All the best to everyone x

milk · 17/03/2012 11:56

HeeHeeHeeBum, my best friend had a MC at 8 weeks then the next month fell pregnant again and now her baby is due this April :) I hope all works out for you.

piggyboo · 17/03/2012 14:23

Sorry heehee glad you can look to the future with a positive attitude x

I'm having a bit of a scare at the moment. DD who is two has been a bit off colour the last week or so with a cold, then yesterday she developed a rash on her face. took her to the docs and they think she may have slapped cheek (parvovirus). This can be quite dangerous if you're pregnant so they booked me in for bloods on monday. This morning i wake up to find i have a cold and a rash all over my face :( Just been to the out of hours GP who has booked me a scan (not had one yet) on tuesday to check bean is ok. Panicking a bit now as my preg symtoms seemed to have improved dramatically over the last week.

To make it worse DD and i have also been in contact with two other pregnant women this week so i'm going to have to tell them they will need blood tests to see if they've got it Confused

Zoeplankton · 17/03/2012 14:29

fjordmor - very, very sensible to have a legal document in case of breakup. Bravo.

milk - you're welcome to join team 'why can't you be nice to me?' with the rest of us saddled with an especially troublesome mum/MIL. Welcome! And sorry!

bettybat · 17/03/2012 14:39

Heehee I'm so sorry to hear your news :(

I think I got my arse well and truly kicked by the stomach bug. Nori virus, whatever it was, it got me with vomiting, diarrhea, and general completely wiped-out-ness. Only just today starting to feel a little more human but still have horrendous hangover-style headache and slight fever. Bleurgh.

It was only this morning that I started stressing I haven't been taking my folic acid these last few days, and would only have thrown it up anyway...Bad pregnant lady :( I'm also slightly disconcerted that my midwife appt is a week after the scan, in mid April Hmm

Sorry to hear a lot of you are feeling generally energy-less. These first few weeks are a killer!

bella2012 · 17/03/2012 14:39

oh poor you piggyboo, you don't need that stress as well! Hope your scan is reassuring. Let us know won't you?

I am having a heavy sickness day. Every time i start a story with ds I have to run to the loo. Poor boy doesn't know what is going on. Dh off to rugby now so i will have to try and pull myself together. Got a horrible chesty cough and cold too which is getting me down. Does anyone know if there is anything you are allowed to take for colds when preg? I would kill for a lemsip but i know that is out.

On the upside, got my scan date! Woop! So excited except for the fact dh might not be there as his work are being difficult about time off that week. I also don't have any childcare that day. Is it totally innappropriate to bring my ds who is 2 with us? I really dont want to reschedule as it is such a long wait as it is!

Hope you are all ok today. Love to all xxx

milk · 17/03/2012 15:26

piggyboo many hugs to you! I hope the scan is reassuring.

Zoeplankton I am not looking forward to seeing all my in-laws tomorrow :( plus DH had to work today so they are stealing my 1 day with him :(

nenehooo · 17/03/2012 16:07

piggyboo hope everything's ok. We had a slapped cheek scare at school last week I was out of class, but my LSA noticed red cheeks on one of the kids and took her to the office straight away, as she knows about my pg. The office staff don't, however and tried to fob her off! I told the Head and she sent the child straight home - only for Mum to retuen her 20 mins later saying she'd been to the GP and they said she was fine Hmm
keeping everything crossed for you.
I tried to clean out a blocked drain today. Needless to say it was foul and made me retch. Closest I've come to vomitting yet. Moral of the story - don't try to clean out a blocked drain in your first trimester if you're feeling nauseous. Also - why do I keep doing these things to myself?

Guccigirl79 · 17/03/2012 16:56

Fjiord We moved in together 'properly' last august when we purchased our house,we had a 'deed of trust' drawn up by the solicitor as I was putting 75% of my equity in & dp was putting his life savings in!! It gives more piece of mind but there is still more security re event of death/pensions etc if you are married.

Meant to be going out in 5 mins for the evening & I'm currently sat on here in joggers, washing still on the line & dp asleep on the bed.so it's all going well so far lol
I'm indulging myself in f1 qually highlights from this morning,it's been a long 16wks since the end of the season!!!

Hope you all have a lovely Saturday night!! :)

LondonMrsS · 17/03/2012 17:02

This uber sense of smell is doing my head in. It's the worst super power ever. Why couldn't we evolve to develop the ability to fly or something?

AKMD · 17/03/2012 17:30

Snap London, I've got super-smell too. It is not nice! Meat aisles, dirty laundry baskets and bins are out of bounds at the moment.

MickeyTheShortOne · 17/03/2012 17:57

Hi ladies. I've finally had my scan through, hooray!!! Wednesday 11th april. Yay :) Snap AKMD and london, someone burst a can of old speckled hen at work yesterday, I was retching for half an hour. Even after it had been cleaned up.
I would rather have the ability to make a clone of myself that would then go to work and do everything for me. So I could stay in bed with my exhaustion. I feel like I could sleep for 3 months today, and had an utterly crap day at work. Two pregnant women in one workplace does not work out well...

piggyboo · 17/03/2012 19:45

nenehooo from what the docs said, once the red cheeks are evident on someone they're no longer considered contagious so you should be ok. It might be worth you asking you're midwife for a blood test to see if you are immune (most people are) if you're working in a school where there might be cases. They can use the left over blood from your booking appt if you've already had it. At least then you would know whether you need to be cautious or not.

My rash has expanded over the day and my face does now officially look like a slapped arse lol, don't think i'll be going out for mothers day tomorrow even though i'm no longer contagious i don't want frighten any small children :(

Limejelly · 17/03/2012 20:02

Hello everyone!

I was on the original thread (briefly) and have been lurking ever since! Waiting for my 12 week scan before I become a fully fledged member. It's on the 2nd April so not long to go now.

I just wanted to drop in and say I'm sorry to the ladies whose pregnancies have not gone to plan. I really feel for you and I'm thinking of you all.

Good luck to everyone with your up coming scans; hope to get to know you all soon.

Lime xx

bella2012 · 17/03/2012 21:49

snap mickey my scan is on the same day!

squidkid · 18/03/2012 07:24

Hello everyone

I'm in bed at my mates house and have been up for hours and I'm bored and feeling sick but everyone else is still in bed cause they went to sleep at 3.

I'm really sorry to hear HeeHeeHeeBum's news. So sad. Really thinking of her.

I feel a bit bad for having started a "I hate my boyfriend's mum" group - the rest of my family are lovely and I'm a very lucky person! Also boyfriend is completely in agreement with me so at least I don't have to bite my tongue around him. I am very close to my brothers and their wives (who I call my sisters) and my parents are great to me and him. So, I don't mean to whinge! I rarely have to see her anyway because she refuses to leave the house. I invite her to everything and it's not my fault if she can't be arsed to come!

Anyway enough of that. Had a nice weekend so far with two of my best friends from school, one of them is the midwife so we had a nice chat about co-sleeping and breastfeeding and home births and stuff. Hah, such hippies. Her favourite topic is childbirth (she retrained as a midwife in her mid twenties and is very passionate about it all) and I currently have a million questions, and she often wants to hear the medical side too, so it's great chatting to her. I can't remember what else we did. Went walking, I made some curry for everyone and then felt too sick to eat it, blah.

I've only got one week left on my current job and only 3 days until my 12 week scan (my first scan). I'm nervous about everything!

I am 12 weeks today and nearly at the end of the first trimester. My baby is the size of a lime. It's been a crazy time. It's been great having you girls to chat to!

CWest30 · 18/03/2012 08:19

Morning ladies,

Well I'm starting to suspect I may at last be getting some symptoms, yay!

Couldn't drink enough fluids yesterday, nothing would quench my thirst, and that is soooooo unlike me!!

Then, just now, ugh, thought I was going to bring up the bean itself I was retching that much.....but havent eaten yet as just couldnt face it so wasn't actually bringing anything up :-(

Looking forward to a nice meal this evening, with hubby, my 4 year old and my parents, but suppose I'd better clean up this dump first haha. Speaking of which, imagine my disgust when my food shopping was delivered last night and they'd put my bread and biscuits in the same bag as my spray bleach, WHICH HAD LEAKED..... I won't say which shop it was, as I stopped working for them a couple of weeks ago, but needless to say, this mum wishes she didnt have to go there anymore! But hey-ho, thats what happens when neither of you drive I guess. Anyway, just made me mad coz when I worked there and packed the Home Deliveries, obviously, I put all the cleaning stuff in a seperate bag, not rocket science is it?! I should be ok, washed my hands loads after, and gonna replace the food so all's well and all that.

Anyway, HUGE rant over lol,

Happy mother's day mummies and mums to be!! xxx

Angelico · 18/03/2012 11:39

Hello . Tiredness / light-headedness is beyond a joke. Have lovely BIL, SIL and their kids visiting and DH has had to go out to the beach without me because I am just too tired :( When will this go away? I can't bear it! Had iron level tested on Fri but I don't look like I am anaemic. BP was slightly high which was very odd but maybe just because last week I was so tired just staying alive was an effort. Too knackered for more, going to go and sleep - enjoy your day peeps :) xo
