FFS if another person brightly tells me that they went into spontaneous labour at 37 weeks I will not be responsible for my actions.

Had a sweep today - well tried to, but cervix so high there was nothing much they could do. 1cm open apparently but this is baby #3 so I don't think that means anything.

Baby not engaged.
No pains.
No braxtons.
No cramps.
No show.
Nothing.

RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Am managing to stay cheerful in real life so I thought I'd come here for a rant and a weep. I'm done now. I have been pregnant for a very VERY long time. Could I PLEASE just have my baby now please?

It is rubbish isnt it!! Im due on thursday but no signs either. Ive got a midwife appointment on Thursday and she said that if i want one she will do a sweep but im not sure whether to have one or not.

Im nervous that i will end up being induced as my due date they are using from the 12 week scan is 12 days different to the dates based on lmp.

Im sick of people telling me to eat a curry, drink pineapple juice etc or the constant phone calls from my mum checking that nothing has happened!!

How many days over are you?

littlemissnormal · 27/02/2012 16:37

Did your previous 2 go overdue too?

I got most pissed off with the constant calls and texts from people wanting to know if I'd had it yet..do you not think I'll tell you?? Leave me alone!!!!

melliebobs · 27/02/2012 17:08

i'll come snarl with you. I'm 8 days over EDD now (41+1) and been railroaded into induction at 12 days when all i want is a natural birth. Needless to say that is getting cancelled and I will get my way. I'm no suffering physically but mentally i'm ready to mame and kill people. Babies been engaged since 37+5 but not had a single Braxton Hicks, not had any show. Not even a twinge. Just a very VERY active baby that if it was any lower would be hanging out!

SilentBoob · 27/02/2012 17:09

I don't mind the texts - people are just excited.

Yes, last 2 went overdue too. Both induced in the end.

Ugh. Am fed up and sore. Most people have already given birth by now.

Is this your first mellie?

Mine is doing acrobatics in there too. It tried to pick a fight with the CTG machine today - kept kicking the thingy off.

40+4 here and seriously fed up, no sign of the baby coming any time soon :(

melliebobs · 27/02/2012 17:15

yup this is my first silent baby is really really REALLY active which isn't helping either. Quit wriggling and wriggle out! Head is down and almost out but she keeps flipping from left to right side!

SilentBoob · 27/02/2012 17:21

First baby is exciting! Well, head down and engaged is a good thing. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It would be nice to just have some sort of sign that it intended to come out at some point eh breadrolls?

Right. This snarling behemoth is off to bed. Gahhh. More of the same tomorrow.

I am joining in. Due date was 25th but seriously pissed off with the endless contractions coming all day and then stopping. Was up at 2am yesterday morning and rally thought I was on my way. Had a bath, spent the whole day hanging over various pieces of furniture, pressure in my butt but nothing. All stopped around 9pm last night. I know I am not much over but after 2 spontaneous due date babies this is taking the piss. This is number 3 with a break of 12 years (good night out). I don't want inducing when I see consultant on Wednesday, I don't want a leapling baby and I can't have him Thursday as daughter has tickets to see The Wanted and can't do Saturday as that's other daughters birthday. Tonight would be good or tomorrow.

I have tried curry, pineapple, evening primrose where it really shouldn't go, long walk - the thought of sex puts me off it as his head is so low.

Would like a decent poo as well as sick of rabbit droppings.

shoeprincess2 · 27/02/2012 17:27

I'm not overdue (only 11 weeks pregnant) but i went 10 days overdue with my first, so I totally know how you feel. My BP went high as i had to contend with daily phonecalls from the MIL and the "piece de la resistance" question of "are you sure you have got your dates right?" Aaaargh, i still smart at that question. Like PP said, do people think that you would you have had the baby and not told them? Good luck ladies. Baby will come when he/ she comes. Just switch off your phones and put your feet up!!

Indith · 27/02/2012 17:31

I'll join you. Baby number 3, 41 weeks tomorrow. Number 1 went to 42 weeks, number 2 only 3 days over so was rather hoping to have given birth by now!

Been 1/5 for weeks
No show
Have had tightening/BH but only when I've had tummy bugs (whole week before half term and then again last weekend) so nothing to do with baby being ready, just irritated bowl irritating the uterus.

I do nursery and school drop offs in the morning. Nursery pick up at lunch and school pick up in the afternoon. That is 3 times a day for around 20 people to say "so are you still here then?"

MW tomorrow so can have a sweep then I suppose.

georgethecat · 27/02/2012 17:54

Due today and grumpy as fuck!

Piles are playing up, rabbit droppings... all hail to having a decent poo deardear

melliebobs · 27/02/2012 18:44

It's the boredom and cabin fever that's getting to me. I've been letting dh have the car for work so I'm stuck at home. I can't sit and watch tv/dvd's/sky+ any more. I will literally go INSANE! Thank god I have a dog. At least a can go for a few wanders with him

SilentBoob · 28/02/2012 03:02

Lol at deardear trying to find a free slot in her diary to have this baby Grin.

We have a big school event tomorrow. Do you think if I have the baby at the school they might give the kid free school fees for life? That'd be good.

And YY to Indith's 3 school runs = 3 times a day for everyone to raise expectant eyebrows at you. The lady on the gate at nursery has taken to roaring with laughter at my approach. Ha fricken ha.

I did wonder if I was having tightenings, but like Indith again I think it was more likely bowel related from all the spicy food I've been scarfing in a futile attempt to get this little bugger out.

I'm 36 weeks & ready now! Dd1 went 14 days over & I was livid with the fucking stupid comments by 41! My grandad was 80 11 days after edd'& people seemed to genuinely believe that I was 'waiting' for that so were very surprised when I didn't uncross my legs & let the baby fall out then. FFS!!!

I stopped engaging at all with MIL, id just go upstairs when she & sil came round. Unfortunately it was over Christmas so loads of visitors with fecking opinions.

Everyone now convinced that I'll be just like sil: went to 41+13 with her first, a girl, & was 6 weeks early with her DS. So I'm already an enigma! As if that's normal anyway & what with there being no genetic link between us!

Oh, sorry, mini rant there.

Hugs, we'll get there (you first though Envy

TabithaChanges · 28/02/2012 08:59

Hi all, would like to join! I'm 40+5 with dc2. Ds was a day early so I'm not used to this! Feeling fed up with random people asking me if I have had " a twinge yet? ".

Going to take ds to park and go for a walk later as walking might help.
Ironic thing is last time I was on may leave and sat on my bum all day but this time I'm wrestling a 16 month

TabithaChanges · 28/02/2012 09:01

Oops pressed post!

old and nothing is happening. Got a sweep on Thursday , should be fun with ds leaping on me as they won't give me a time and dh can't be off all day and nobody else to watch ds:(

deardear · 28/02/2012 09:02

still no baby. hospital tomorrow. luckily my other two are older so only a couple of school runs a day.

I looked at my notes yesterday - he has been 3/5 engaged since 35 weeks although the MW last week said omg how low is he? hmmm. dont think he will properly engage and seriously thinking of going and getting a bouncy ball today to sit on. it might be a bit comfier as atm he is trying to make his way out of my backside and tahts damn painful!

TabithaChanges · 28/02/2012 09:03
  • mat leave , stupid I phone predictive!
Indith · 28/02/2012 09:33

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

First school run of the day over.

Sweep this morning, then I get to pop to the Co-op and pick dd up from nursery then walk home. Surely a sweep followed by a good mile or so walk has got to help?

Today is not a very good childcare day though.

melliebobs · 28/02/2012 11:24

9 days over EDD now. Rung MLU last night asking for a sweep (it's unstaffed so just an answer machine) suprised someone rung me back so early this morning. Community midwives are at a homebirth, don't know how long they will be. They are short staffed and all other mw's have work in their diaries. Someone MIGHT be able to come to my home today, they don't know. So got to stay in now just in case. If they don't come today someone will tomorrow :-(

SilentBoob · 28/02/2012 12:17

Ooof Mellie. You poor thing.

Flisspaps · 28/02/2012 12:22

These babies will come in their own time.

Not much comfort now, I know, but they will. And they will all be worth the wait. And just think, for as long as they're in, they're not out giving you sore boobs, leaky boobs, requiring several changes of clothing a day due to poo explosions and you're not having to pour jugs of soothing warm water over your fanoir whilst you wee

Wink

Please direct me to this post in 7w time when DC2 still hasn't made an appearance at 42 weeks, you'll get your own back then as you will all have lovely babies who are just learning to smile at you and I shall still be waddling like an oversized, constipated duck :)

deardear · 28/02/2012 12:39

oh Fliss life was so rosy at 35 weeks. I could sleep, I could hold in my wee, I could poo properly, I could even walk!

libbyssister · 28/02/2012 12:41

I feel for you all! Have 3 DSs and only DS2 came on time. Other two were 10 days and 14 days late... I have no advice other than to avoid the school run if you possibly can Grin and watch this for inspiration and a giggle
Desperate woman overdue with twins!

Good luck all!
