I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

Oh big time. Praying for a snow day soon! Also, have a slightly dodgy tummy, so may use that diarhheoea as a excuse very valid reason to take Friday off.

oltob · 19/01/2012 15:17

yes, yes and no. I'm not even at 25wks yet Sad
today I have ordered a x-stich to do for the pip as a means to buck myself up - feel like I may be clutching at straws though Wink

jaggythistle · 19/01/2012 15:25

I'm just at work letting stuff pile up around me. Tomorrow is going to be rubbish as I will have to run round like a nutter finishing it all. I'm only about 26 wks and finishing up at 36....

Yep. Six weeks to go and I'm finding it so hard to concentrate. I'm knackered all the time and head full of cotton wool, my brain seems to work at half speed! If I could go off early now I would...no choice really as I'm committed to deadlines right up to 37 weeks...

Missgiraffe1 · 19/01/2012 15:26

Yes!! Am counting down the weeks - 12 weeks (9 of which are 4-day weeks due to public holidays and annual leave days I have to take before 31st March), 1 day and 1 hour 4 mins Grin

Trying sooooo hard to concentrate on work, but it's so hard!

IWantMyHatBack · 19/01/2012 15:27

Yes, and I'm not even pregnant yet!

Jezzabell · 19/01/2012 15:27

yes, yes, yes I'm 33 weeks and have 3 weeks left at work and I completely cannot be arsed! I spend my day on MN and looking at baby stuff online. I have a day a week when i work like f**k to catch up, then go back to doing nothing! Roll on 10th Feb, I can't wait. I just hope she doesn't come really early so I can enjoy a week or 3 of being at home.

TimothyClaypoleLover · 19/01/2012 15:27

Yes! 10 weeks left to go and just totally lost interest in work. Think its partly because I know I probably won't be coming back (this is DC2).

jaggythistle · 19/01/2012 15:30

I think I might be more fed up cos I am quite looking forward to (hopefully) a few weeks hanging out with DS and DH (SAHD this time round).

Work is rubbish!

OP posts:
BlueCrane · 19/01/2012 15:35

Me too!! But still 16 weeks of work left...boohoo...only 21+2 and so tired and seriously distracted at work on MN and researching baby things! Must find brain again as I can't keep this up for another 16 weeks as they'll soon catch on that I'm not being very productive Blush

oltob · 19/01/2012 15:42

just calculated that I have 12-13 wks left at work, does that count?

I would do some if people would send me what they promised (honest guv).

oltob · 19/01/2012 15:44

jaggyt the famine then feast approach rings a bell. I find myself better able to concentrate in the morning and when lots of things to do, only one or two tasks and an afternoon lull and I'm doomed.

Think I will take myself off for a gingerbread latte.

oltob · 19/01/2012 15:45

btw what does SAHD stand for?

luckysocks · 19/01/2012 15:45

"Yep. Six weeks to go and I'm finding it so hard to concentrate. I'm knackered all the time and head full of cotton wool, my brain seems to work at half speed!"

This has reminded me what it was like with DS... but haven't really noticed that this time. Does that mean that my brain is now permanently at half speed but that there's too much damage for me even to notice the difference anymore? .... Confused

I'm aiming for 38 weeks this time, I must be mad. No idea if I'll make it but I was climbing the walls last time at home, despite wishing every minute away beforehand.

Pootle78 · 19/01/2012 15:47

This will be me! Go back to work from current ml when I'll be 25 weeks, work for 10 weeks then going off again! Not quite sure how I'll tell work yet and know after having last 15 months off, there's no way I'm going to be able engage my brain for those 10 weeks!!!

Mikocat · 19/01/2012 15:48

YES! I have been like this for ages and I still have 6 weeks to go! I have even made a chart to cross off my remaining days (30 work days left!).

I spend most of my day on the web/MNing too. I suspect that if I just knuckled down and worked the time would go faster but I SO CAN'T BE ARSED.

jaggythistle · 19/01/2012 15:52

oh he's a 'stay at home Dad' oltob

I think he is a bit terrified of me hanging around disrupting things and making a mess of the nice tidy house for months Grin

oltob · 19/01/2012 15:59

thank you jaggy I shouldn't be allowed at work, I have no brain left. definitely going for that coffee.

I hadn't really thought of how ML will disrupt DH's daddy days, I was mainly planning on watching TV box sets on the sofa, with a little knitting and x-stitch on the side. The reality will be lurking on MN and eating cake no doubt.

We moved 2 wks before d-day lat time and I spent most of ML either packing, unpacking or at hospital having my bp measured.

Missgiraffe1 · 19/01/2012 16:16

Hi Blue !!! Likewise, fab to hear littleblue is doing great!

I am so surprised I haven't been pulled up for internet usage/seriously buggering up a case(actually, I may well have, but just don't know it yet Shock )/decrease in productivity etc etc! And I can't believe no-one has noticed how lazy I have been. Makes me think I never did work as hard as I thought I did Hmm
Btw, I have heard that baby brain doesn't just magically disappear after the birth. Is this true?? My brain seems totally scrambled (eg. tried to open a cereal bowl with a can opener, took a bunch of flowers my cousin asked me to drop in to a mutual friend, not realising she actually meant for me to take them to my SIL!!! (they have the same name) Mutual friend had no idea why my cousin was giving her flowers to say thank you for something when she hadn't seen, or talked, to her for many months).
Do we just have to keep functioning with a half-brain for the forseable???

TheBreadstick · 19/01/2012 16:23

oh Jezzabell I could have written that post!

I'm 28 weeks and not due on mat leave until 38 weeks (why was I such a martyr agreeing to work that long!)

I too spend a good portion of my day lurking on MN and 'researching' baby stuff. The rest I spend eating ASDA vanilla crowns and day dreaming about my bump!

So bad ...

patsdeadfrank · 19/01/2012 16:24

i have total everything apathy all i want to do is lie in bed and watch films.

helgaw99 · 19/01/2012 16:26

Me too- glad it's not just me! I have 6 days left at job number 1 which is three days a week and 9 days left at job number 2! I also have a spreadsheet that counts down for me so I spend a lot of time looking at it.

I am so bored of working, can't concentrate on anything properly and properly sick of the 1 hour + commute each way x 3 times a week- hence the early finish at job number 1. Mainly I am dreading job number 2 trying to add days once they realise i am free for 3 days a week to help with handover! It's not my fault they have taken so long to replace me.

Roll on mid Feb, 36 weeks and freedom!! (at least for a while!)

On the topic of baby brain- the other day I put the kettle away in the tea and coffee cupboard and my husband thought we had been burgled by a very specific burglar! A couple of days ago I found the kettle in the fridge- help me!

miaboo · 19/01/2012 16:33

I'm only 10 weeks and if all goes well (keep fingers crossed for me) I am finishing the earliest I can! I only went back to work in October and cannot wait to get out of a job I now hate :( I know I am not returning after ml so going at 29 weeks is a very inviting offer :)
I have no motivation, I'm tired whilst I'm there (I do 11 hour shifts!) and have 2 children who are 5 and 1 so no rest even when I finish!!

BlueCrane · 19/01/2012 16:41

Just realised I still have nearly an hour of the day left and am soooo bored and really can't be bothered with what I'm doing! Keep thinking that if this particular project had a bit more structure then I'd find it easier to get on with it, but it might actually just be that I CBA Blush !!!

I've also heard that the babybrain thing doesn't magically disappear after birth which is really quite worrying! I've always prided myself with being on the ball and efficient which I still am for organising nursery bits and baby related purchaseswhich I seem to be losing capacity for rapidly at work!!

Now 39mins of the day left...aaaand counting!

jaggythistle · 19/01/2012 16:47

I'm bad enough at procrastination when i do have motivation.

i don't think my brain has ever been the same.

partly my concentration problem was keeping an eye on a baby while talking and now trying to hold a conversation with a wee chatty toddler bouncing around. not sure what my excuse is at work though. Hmm

just can't be bothered right now!
