I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

Have woken up a bit after a walk in the freezing cold to my friend's house at lunchtime to have cuddles with her 36hour old DS...soooo cute and snuggly!! But the walk back seems to have kick started my heartburn again so I need to start glugging on the gaviscon again! missg it also takes me ages to get to sleep and multiple loo trips in the night do not help with good sleep either, especially as one of beany's favourite games in bouncing up and down on my bladder! V cute but a bit irritating at the same time!!

Missgiraffe1 · 31/01/2012 17:16

Gah, heartburn! Nasty! I actually woke myself up barfing up (sorry TMI) a mouthful of acid the other night. It was grim. Then had to sleep - or at least try to sleep - practically sitting up! Hadn't even eaten anything late at night or particularly controversial.

3 weeks 3days Dolly??? Envy Smile

Ciske · 31/01/2012 20:30

Managed to waste most of the working day surfing the net, and running back and forth between office and kitchen for food and coffee.

So am now being punished by having to work in the evenings to catch up. :(

Brain feels like mush, good thing I've got a day off tomorrow!

2 Weeks and 2 days to go. :)

jaggythistle · 31/01/2012 21:08

I've actually been quite good at work today , I was so late finishing last night due to wasting time like an idiot and having a very long break for my tea!

Away home soon, hopefully on time....

Turns over a new leaf this morning...new month...sun shining and a better night's sleep last night...here goes!! shame I've not actually acheived anything productive yet but there's still time! Smile

Mikocat · 01/02/2012 10:42

I was a work a whole hour and a quarter before logging into MN - very proud.

Mind you I have spent some of that time filling in my outgoings on a spreadsheet (this baby cost me £500 last month - WTF?).

Ciske · 01/02/2012 12:56

Mikocat, I'm impressed. You deserve a break. Grin

I'm off today and sorting out a whole pile of admin from the quietness of my couch. I don't understand why I can focus perfectly well on re-arranging my own life, but at work, I can't even get to the end of an email without being distracted.

Gathering courage now to leave the house and do something active.

Missgiraffe1 · 01/02/2012 14:04

I was out meeting yhis morning with my boss and colleague who will be covering for my mat leave. Strangely, I have had no difficulty whatsoever putting hours of work into preparing for that meeting, and will now follow it up with a nicely organised handover plan Smile That takes care of the rest of today

Mikocat · 02/02/2012 11:07

Oh god how is it only 11 a.m.??

Only 4 weeks to go and I starting to annoy MYSELF now, I have loads of stuff to do and can't be bothered doing ANY of it.

I've just got really annoyed because my boss came and asked me to do something that I should have done last week, but was off sick. I was kind of hoping that he'd just dealt with it in my absence. AND I was busy on MN.

Alos, I'm just eating ALL DAY now. I'm alternating the biscuits with dried apricots and rice cakes in a vague attempt to be healthy. I'm not this bad at home so I know it's boredom.

Someone give me a good talking to please!

Ciske · 02/02/2012 11:39

Someone give me a good talking to please!

You mean take time out of our busy work schedules to post even more on MN? Shock

I've got loads to get on with but the brain is clearly still on leave. I also find myself getting annoyed with colleagues for - shock horror - expecting me to answer their calls or reply to their emails. How dare they invade my laziness?

Dollybird99 · 02/02/2012 12:48

MissG

3 weeks 1 day and 4 hours now......!! I am 32 weeks today, and am finishing at 35 so not long to go - thank god. If it's any consolation to anyone, ever since I found out I was pregnant, pretty much all I do is mumsnet, mothercare, kiddicare, amazon (to look for baby development books), make lists, plan what's going in my maternity bag...oh and a tiny bit of work! :)

BlueCrane · 02/02/2012 15:33

Grin have managed to have a reasonably productive yesterday and this morning (well, sort of for this morning)...feel in need of a rest now but still need to get some stuff finished for my 'deadline' tomorrow, but now have found out that a meeting which was supposed to have happened (and the reason for the deadline being set) hasn't even been arranged yet so am a bit Hmm about whether my deadline is actually a deadline IYSWIM which is not helping my motivation at the moment!!

miko I'm still only 23 weeks and just want to eat chocolate all the time!! Have a healthy pot of cur up orange or an apple for this afternoon but just went and bought chocolate biscuits instead Blush

Oh dear...must try and get some more work done....

scroogemcduck · 02/02/2012 15:37

36+4 today. I finish next Friday. I don't dislike work, but I am exhausted and someone seems to have taken my brain away and replaced it with some candyfloss Confused

Missgiraffe1 · 02/02/2012 15:48

I am definitely being punished, work is flooding in like there's no tomorrow! Aaaaargh! But there is light at the end of the tunnel - got word that long-term sick colleague is coming back next week. Phew. Am glad to hear she is feeling better though. She's not been having an easy time and stressful job doesn't help.

I too am eating way too much. The constant grazing might be why I have constant heartburn. Am 26+4 have put on 1 stone exactly, I realised this morning. I don't think it sounds like too much/too little/too anything at the mo, but am worried I'll balloon if I keep eating like I have been. I ate 5 fairy cakes the other day. 5!!! This sweet tooth is a bugger!

I also think I am having my first craving (apart from fairy cakes Blush)
Innocent apple juice & tonic!! Can't get enought of it. It's yummy!

And, Whoogoo, it's Friday tomorrow!! I am going to see the Chemical Brothers movie. Hadn't thought about it, with it being in the Odeon, but DH said he reckons there will be lots of mashed people there! Shock

oltob · 02/02/2012 16:07

missg - I'm 26+4 too and suffering chronic heartburn too. wouldn't it be spooky if off to cinema too but no - we're away for the w/end, without DD, to celebrate my bd and I have tomorrow afternoon off too - yippee. glad work will be easing up for you too.

I have worked today, been taken out for lunch (hence heartburn) and written a to-do list - all with necessary tinternet surfing breaks to help ease the way. Have a great weekend team LA.

BlueCrane · 02/02/2012 16:28

missg I haven't dared stand on the scales for a while but think tomorrow morning might be the time, last time i checked (a few weeks ago and have eaten a lot of cake and chocolate since then) I'd put on about 8lb so we'll see!

Just managed to finish a task...woohoo...think I can spend the rest of the afternoon doing home admin, which I also seem to have much more motivation for than work Hmm Do clearly have another task to do for this deadline but wondering whether that would be better started with a fresh mind in the morning?!?!

oltob happy birthday Smile have a lovely weekend!!

Re. heartburn I discovered last night that the big bottles of boots own brand gaviscon are much more difficult to glug from than the small bottles!! All fun!

Missgiraffe1 · 02/02/2012 17:22

Oltob we're due date, lazy-arse buddies then! Have a fabulous birthday and weekend Smile Flowers

Blue what does Boots own taste like? I used to quite like the aniseed taste of orginal gaviscon but I've been glugging so much, I'm started to hate it. I'm almost finished my 3rd 600ml bottle (and that doesn't account for all the random packets of rennies I've had to buy when out and about!)

And lol at candyfloss brain Grin

Dolly for some reason I see 32 weeks a milestone (maybe as I have another scan then actually), and can't wait to get there though! Happy 32 weeks to you Smile

BlueCrane · 03/02/2012 11:44

missg the boots one is also aniseed flavour though they do also do a peppermint one but I haven't tried that one yet

Forgot to stand on the scales this morning so still blissfully unaware how much weight cake I have actually put on Smile

Work plodding slowly today and no-one has mentioned the deadline maybe if I hide it will go away so am just trying to keep going with it all! PIL down for the weekend with stacks of stuff they decided to go and buy (without asking us!!) so could be an interesting evening as they unpack the car tonight Hmm wonders what random items they will have purchased which won't be my taste at all which aren't on my 'to buy' list

Right...back to it...anyone for a Brew and a nice slab of chocolate fudge cake?

Missgiraffe1 · 06/02/2012 10:35

Was quiet on here on Friday! I was out all day, and my 3G has decided to stop working, so no MNing at all for me!

Went to see the Chemical Brothers movie. I was definitely my most bonkers cinema experience! There were people dancing in the aisles and sometimes rushing to the front to create a dancefloor - short-lived as the staff ushered them back to their seats amidst a lot of 'Booooooooos' from everyone else! Grin Was really good though. Although most people were sober, there were a good few groups of people who were clearly up for a party Grin If I wasn't PG, I would probably have been one of them!

Painted the nursery on Saturday, met with friends for lunch Sunday (along with our newest addition, who is 7 months old and totally adorable Smile ).

I have Friday and Monday off Smile , DD away skiing all weekend, so me and DH going to have some teen-free time. Off to stay in a wee cosy hotel on Loch Lomond on Sunday night.

Really should be getting as much work done as possible in these 4 days, but......... Someone pleeeeeeeeeease tell me you are having an equally unproductive Monday morning!!! Hmm

Missgiraffe1 · 06/02/2012 10:36

ps. Blue if there any choc fudge cake left, sling some in my direction pleaseSmile
What random items did PILs bring???

BlueCrane · 06/02/2012 10:45

Morning all Smile Hope everyone is wrapped up and toasty and not stuck in the cold

missg I have friday off too! Have got some bits and pieces to do but then meeting some old work colleagues for dinner in London in the eve so means I can (hopefully) be a bit more awake than if I'd been at work all day! Last Friday I left work in a foul mood as there's loads of issues here at the moment so means I'll hopefully avoid that too!

MIL has actually been v v good with what she has bought...she has stuck to neutral colours as requested (we don't know what we're having yet!) and nothing toooo random apart from the glass feeding bottles she used for my DH which I doubt will get used will no doubt be put in a box in the loft but was a nice thought! Weekend was exhausting though!!

Have acheived nil, nada, nothing so far this morning as just can't get a handle on what I need to be doing Confused must try and get something done at least before lunchtime!

Missgiraffe1 · 06/02/2012 12:53

Yeah to long weekends!! Mine was exhausting too. My Dad was babysitting my nephew in my house whilst we were at the cinema. He left when we got in, at 12.30am. Went to bed around 1ish, tossed and turned (which is increasing in difficulty, so exhausting in itself!) nephew woke up around 2.15, settled him quickly but then took ages for me to get to sleep, and he was up at 7.20. I guess I have to get used to this Grin
Then moved stuff and painted nursery. Had a really lazy Sat eve. Got into my PJs about 7. planted myself firmly on sofa and watched 2 movies, only moving to pee Smile

And well done MIL Smile Mine was trying to get me to agree to letting her commission an artist guy she knows to make bespoke nursery furniture. Ok, so if I had am amazingly large nursery which would showcase such extravagant furniture, I'd maybe have thought about it, but since we're using the smallest bedroom in the house, its not really worth the cost (and, I was also terrifed it wouldn't confirm to safety regulations/standards which gave me the fear no end!!)

Mmmmmmmm...... muffins.......

Apart from filing and prioritising e-mails since being out the offce, I have done 2 work-related things. Minor things, requiring zero brain power, but still work. Need a break now.

Hope everyone else is having a good start to their week??

balkanscot · 06/02/2012 20:09

Hello, apathy!

6 weeks to go, am spending most of my time at work doing the following: watching pigeons roosting on the roof; checking other people's electronic calendars; playing Words with Friends on iPhone (when boss is not looking) - our internet usage is carefully monitored so I tend to avoid logging in to MN/anywhere else; stare into space; count the amount of working days left until 19 March; feeling sorry for myself; doing (some) work. Repeat the process until 5pm. Restart again at 9am.

BlueCrane · 07/02/2012 10:55

Morning all hopefully it will keep me busy and out of mischief (ie on MN, surfing web randomlym, starting into space etc etc) Smile only slight problem is that I have booked quite a bit of AL to have lots of short weeks which means the pressure is going to be on!

But first, question for you all...is it possible for morning sickness to come back?? I felt v queasy and was sick a few times until about wk 16, since then I have been fine. But over the past week my heartburn has been getting worse - now most of the day as well as evening/night and I am feeling exhausted and v v queasy in the mornings...is this just because my body is struggling to digest breakfast whilst I'm trying to get ready for work?? Not sure what to do but feeling fairly grim with it!

Mikocat · 07/02/2012 11:12

17 days to go until ML! I am finding myself increasingly grumpy with anyone who gives me work to do.

Also finding that I'm going to have to write reams of handover notes as there is no way that HR are going to pull their fingers out and get someone in before I go on ML so that I can handover in person.

I'm really frustrated about the lack of organisation in HR actually, knowing that these things take FOREVER in the civil service I gave them LOADS of notice of when I intended to leave and they seem to spent about a month of it debating how it was going to affect the headcount and whether they could make up the gap with resource from elsewhere blah blah blah. Of course they can't make up the gap by 'reallocating resources' because everyone is stacked with work so - surprise surprise - they are going to have to recruit someone! They are planning to do the interviews the week that I'm due to leave. Aaarggghhh!
