I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

Have done some work, and am back to procrastinating. Just thought I'd share this gem of a piece of advice from my BabyCentreApp today (in relation to back pain):

"Going on all fours can reduce the pressure on your back from the weight of your baby. Try adopting this position regularly throughout the day"

Ok, if any member of Team Lazy Arse has a sore back, I dare you to drop to the floor in your workplace and see what reaction your get Grin Go on. It's only Monday ad I'm bored already!!

Have worked for 3 solid hours so far today - feel I deserve a medal.

Where is everyone Jaggy?? They must actually be working! Shock

jaggythistle · 24/01/2012 12:44

The buggers.

I have just logged off one PC and onto another, completely bypassing any work Blush

oops.

Oh my, im am only 12 weeks and already feeling the strain!!! lol!! im sleeping like im a tortoise hibernating!!

Im a PA to 4 Directors so you can imagine the work load!! They have been very supportive and lovely though which is great! x

oltob · 24/01/2012 13:30

I did work this morning, surely by rights that means I should have the afternoon off.

Will second missg's medal requirement. I think I may be needing to fashion a reward chart of some sort that involves lots of flapjacks and hazlenut lattes (my new fave)

Missgiraffe1 · 24/01/2012 13:45

Good work jaggy Grin

And I approve your paid half day leave Oltob Smile

Jujubug I remember that first trimester exhaustion. I likened it to being injected with horse tranquiliser - not that I have ever been injected with horse tranquiliser, just that I imagine that's what it would feel like. Horrible. Thank the heavens for nice bosses.

Good luck with the deadlines Blue I am with you. During this 'couldn't give a flying fox' phase, it is so gard to get anything done when no-one is demanding anything at any particular time. Think I will set myself some deadlines Smile. As I only have 49 working days left after today, I do need to make sure things are as in order as possible before handing over to my cover. Hmm And I work from home, making it even harder to stay motivated!!

FootprintsInTheSnow · 24/01/2012 13:52

Anyone else getting through things by mainliing pure sugar?

I'm sure my metabolism won't thank me for it in the long run, but I'm sitting here at my desk weighing up the merits of Haribo versus a Crunchie bar...

Missgiraffe1 · 24/01/2012 13:59

My DD got a huge jar (1K) of fizzy dummies at Xmas. She doesn't like them. I have just finished them, and am now onto the massive Toblerone. If you only have 1 triangle at a time, it doesn't really seem that much Grin
This sweet tooth is new for me. Hope it passes.

oltob · 24/01/2012 14:02

I thnk haribo should be on prescription during pregnancy - I may need to make a detour to the newsagents on way to Costa.

Kiddies Supermix all the way.

BlueCrane · 24/01/2012 14:42

Grin Grin for anything sweet here too!!! I've always had a firly sweet tooth but now I could eat cake, chocolate, sweets etc all day long quite happily...until I stood on the scales that is!!

missg yeah for 49 days left! I haven't dared work that out yet as the week's figure still seems too high...14 working weeks left (that's after I've taken out my week off and various other odd days off)

As for the deadline I'm now wishing that my irritating colleague would just leave me be and let me get on with it...grrrr...

Mikocat · 24/01/2012 16:00

I am staving off boredom by eating all day long. I'm currently bringing in loads of fruit and 'healthy' biscuits to try and keep me away from the Twixes, with limited success.

I have made a chart of how many working days I have left in the office so that I can tick off a square each day. That killed a few minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I have work I could be doing, I just CBA.

Mikocat · 24/01/2012 16:01

BTW, 27 days left, 24 if I take the 3 days holiday that I'm owed (which I will). It sounds like less time than 5 and a half weeks.

Missgiraffe1 · 24/01/2012 16:50

Ok, due to post-lunch sugar rush, and also due to Blue's chat of deadlines (and in between watching my belly - which looks like it's housing a bag of ferrets - and e-mailing my DH at work, thus dragging him into my proscrastination) I decided to review my cases. I managed to close quite a lot, but have also realised that I actually have rather a lot of work do do!! Shock
Will now have the fear for the rest of the week. I knew it would catch up on me eventually Sad

jaggythistle · 24/01/2012 16:54

oh i have the fear. i half heartedly finished a big task before i left work, but i have so much to do i am a little bit terrified.

i have to go to a meeting and look like i give a monkey's tomorrow too.

BlueCrane · 25/01/2012 09:37

Morning all! Just checking in...nearly half way through the week thank goodness...but my new (sort of) resolve and motivation from yesterday seems to have waned a bit this morning as I feel exhasuted again! Mornings are not my friend anymore (I used to be quite a morning person!) so actually getting myself up and moving is a huge chore and just want to curl back up in my bed!! But I MUST get on with this work...though I really need the fear to properly kick in to get me going...

How's everyone else today?

jaggy hope yor meeting goes well...

miko yeah for 24 days!!

missg well done for closing off some cases...ticking things off lists is definitely good at the moment!!

Right...here goes with the work...catch up later when I can't be bothered again

Mikocat · 25/01/2012 10:19

Morning BlueCrane

Oh noes! My boss is back after a couple of days out of the office. It's been lovely having him gone, now he is back and expects me to do stuff. :(

Ciske · 25/01/2012 10:26

So glad I found this thread! I was about to feel guilty for messing around during work hours, but clearly this is another thing I can fairly blame on Being Pregnant.

I've got 3 weeks and 3 days to go until ML. Total apathy here as well, I think knowing none of it will matter in a few weeks has completely thrown out all my energy.

Someone give me a kick and tell me to do some work please. Grin

Missgiraffe1 · 25/01/2012 11:02
Smile

Morning all. Hope you're all coping with the fear! And hope those for whom the fear has yet to kick in are enjoying the blissfull ignorance of it all.

Cicke I think when I get to 3 weeks I'll be as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

2 hours of work done. Several things ticked off list. But still loads of phonecalls to return and e-mails to reply to (have switched off my 'new mail ping' as it was bugging me - and interrupting my googling. Think i need to switch it back on though, as when I looked in my inbox after only 2 hours this morning, it scared me Shock )

Have a fun day!!

Missgiraffe1 · 26/01/2012 12:16

HmmHmm
Is everyone in the same boat as me, having squandered the early part of the week and now being punished for it??!!

Went for haggis, neeps & tatties at my friends last night (in honour of Rabbie Burns, for any non-Scots who may not know about Burns day). They run a farm and livery business so dinner is always late. Meant I couldn't go to bed until after 12 as the indigestion/heartburn is terrible at the mo!

jaggy hope you survived your meeting and managed to feign interest!

BlueCrane · 26/01/2012 14:24

missg sort of, though I think it may only fully kick in next week as my deadline looms closer at the end of next week! I've also realised today that my energy levels (and motivation) definitely dip as the week progresses...had a masssive energy slump at 10am this morning and wondered whether I'd even manage to stay awake for the day let alone get any work done! But after water, tea and food I managed to perk up and have got some bits done. Though now suffering from my routine post-lunch wind problem which is highly inconvenient working in an open plan office Blush and will result in multiple loo trips again!!

Right...back to trying to do some work...

Missgiraffe1 · 26/01/2012 17:03

Hi Blue
I am noticing a pattern. now that I am actually doing some work I start at 9.30 and have a slump around 11.30, then again around 2ish. Then, after a bit of procrastination, I have to work my socks off until 5. At least I am actually working hard in between slumps, which is more than can be said for my performance over the last goodness how many weeks Smile

My wind issues aren't too problematic considering I work from home. I can trump away 'til my wee heart's content, with only my DDs beardie to give me questionable looks Grin Open plan sounds challenging!! Have you ever done the 'orchestral walk'??? (where you involuntarily fart, like a human trumpet, with every step you take??)

Oh well, the gym beckons I suppose....

BlueCrane · 26/01/2012 17:18

GYM???? All my good exercise intentions have been a disaster...well, non existent really!! I'm going to try a 'relax, stretch and breathe' class the NCT do on a Monday next week, but it's £10 a class which seems rather expensive to me!! Really wanted to do an aquanatal class but they only run them on a Thursday lunchtime at my local pool which is really not much use when you work full time!! Have avoided the orchestral walk at work thankfully but it has definitely happened in the car park on the way to the car at the end of the day Blush

And now Grin home time and only have a half day in the office tomorrow Grin Grin

Shyera · 26/01/2012 18:32

I am planning to work right up this time so have four and a half weeks left!! (yes i am counting lol)

Don't know if it is my hormones but everyone at work seems to be really annoying me saying useless things and still expecting me to do as much as i used to. Moaning if i am a few minutes late from my break. Seriously have they not seen the size of me i walk slower!!!

So fed up of working but needs must so got to keep going, part of me hopes baby comes before i leave.
