I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

Oh good, I'm glad other people feel like this. I thought I was just mega-lazy when I was pregnant! I spent most of my pregnancy surfing the net for completely non-essential baby items and advice and comparing pushchair reviews. It's a bit strange that I still have a job.

I had planned to work right up until 3 days before my due date (pregnancy isn't an illness, people! Hmm) but ended up with pre-eclampsia and ante-natal depression and got signed off work at 34 weeks. I literally walked out of the office, phoned my MW, said I can't stay at work for another second longer and she booked me straight in with the doctor. One handover meeting later and I was free to sit in my freezing cold, half-renovated house all day...

musicalmrs · 19/01/2012 18:01

Jaggy, I am feeling exactly the same. I also have 10 weeks left at work (34 weeks; but as I work at schools, I'll be 36/37 by the time Easter's over, so no point going back). I feel quite upbeat at the beginning of the week, but come Tuesday (my most exhausting day) I just want to sleep..! Thursdays are quite hellish too - in London until 10pm, not home until 11/11.30pm...

The hour commutes are the thing killing me most I think - especially in the mornings - and the lack of seats on the train (or lack of lovely people giving them up).

MillontheFloss · 19/01/2012 18:23

I feel the same but only 7+2 so I'll have to wait until mid July! Argh! Have been unable to focus on work since I found out and just not interested at the moment. I've spent ten years in demanding jobs and I think I'm ready for a year off being a mum! (I know it's gonna be just as demanding in other ways!)

jaggythistle · 20/01/2012 07:17

thanks for letting me moan. Grin

will no doubt be back later when I'm at work putting off something i really should be doing...

Well, I was given the heads up that I am likely to be made redundant within the next few months so you can imagine how apathetic that has made me towards work! I'm 8 weeks pregnant and just hoping that they don't do anything before the 20 week mark as I have 6 weeks of redundancy notice so would qualify for SMP. Fingers crossed! Very hard to stay motivated.

If they do something just after the 20 week mark (they don't know I'm pregnant yet), I will be quite happy about it. It's been so stressful and unpleasant to work here for over a year (I've been here for 6 years) and as I'm on 6 months notice (which they can contractually pay me for), I will relish some time with DD1 prior to the birth of DC2.

melliebobs · 20/01/2012 08:41

BIG time and I only have one n a half days left. Damn having to go in on Monday EnvyAngry

BlueCrane · 20/01/2012 10:44

Seem to have lost my motivation already and it's only 10:40am...at least it's Friday though!

Things I'd like to do today:
a) Pop to Mothercare to buy the things I had my eye on online last night - can't be bothered with deliveries etc when i could get it in store but it's just SO busy in there on a Saturday - a Friday trip would be much preferable
b) Research baby carriers/slings and decide which one to get
Two small but interesting tasks for the day but instead I should be working...grrr..which of course I am being paid to do but brain is just elsewhere thinking about a)+b) above so proving very difficult to actually get anything done!! And another 16 weeks of work to endure yet as well

jaggythistle · 20/01/2012 11:04

I was on here by 8.30 and I only start work at 8 Blush

Good work jaggy Procrastination has taken on a whole new meaning for me these last few months.

I don't actually think I have the mental capacity to be at work anyway. Made a comment about Team Lazy Arse (i.e us lot!) on another MN thread by mistake Blush. Oooops.

jaggythistle · 20/01/2012 12:20

Grin Go Team Lazy Arse!!!!

Impatientwino · 20/01/2012 12:53

Oh oh, I am only 13 weeks and am fed up with work already! :)

Just find myself alternating between

1 - staring at my screen
2 - eating
3 - staring at my tummy
4 - mumsnet
5 - weeing

I work for a board of directors and they are all lovely bar one and every time he is horrid to me now I just think in my head 'not long until june, not long until june' and smile sweetly at him!

Missgiraffe1 · 20/01/2012 13:09

HAHA!!!

1 - staring at my screen
2 - eating
3 - staring at my tummy
4 - mumsnet
5 - weeing

Grin Grin Grin Grin

Wino are you sitting near my desk??? You have just described my morning - although I have occasionally googled a few times (subject areas being food, babies, bump sizes, scan pictures, food etc etc)

Anyway, after that hard morning, I'm off for lunch Smile

spannermary · 21/01/2012 14:13

I'm a special needs teacher and my TA has been promoted to 'curriculum specialist' to take over from me when I'm on mat leave. So I've been encouraging him to do all some of the lead teaching activities so that I can offer my advice and support on how he's doing whilst I sit on the big beanbags and comfy chairs taking it easy

It seems the responsible thing to do!

Team Lazy Arse in full swing here!

...3 weeks to go.

FootprintsInTheSnow · 21/01/2012 14:21

Big time!

(But can't stop & chat now - promised DH I'd finish this work, so we can go out for coffee later).

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 21/01/2012 15:59

Work just seems so futile...partly pregancy-related and partly because I have been doing winter planning for the last 6 months and the lack of snow makes it seem like wasted effort. I have been alternating between MN, emailing my sister, Googling random things and more MN, in between chatting with workmates. The only time I do actual work is in meetings when I have no choice. Only 6 weeks to go...

Has anyone else stopped counting how many weeks they are and started counting the number of weeks left until mat leave instead?

Wants3 · 21/01/2012 16:23

I have 11 working weeks left but ihave a uni assignment and an exam to do plus all the hand over stuff to sort. Sort of hoping that time flies but need to fit so much in!

jaggythistle · 23/01/2012 10:55

Right then Team Lazy Arse, how is Monday going?

I think I have done about 1 hours work in 3 hours :( Blush

I was going to be so motivated as well.....

BlueCrane · 23/01/2012 11:06

jaggy I have managed a more positive mental attitude towards coming in this morning wich is a great improvement to Friday...however, really not acheived very much at all yet Blush Emails checked and responded to - check, weekend catch up with colleagues - check, assisted colleague with an IT query - check, actually done any actual work myself - not quite Blush Going to try and have a 'power hour' before lunch if I can stop munching snacks as am soooo hungry this morning Smile

piprabbit · 23/01/2012 11:12

I developed an Excel spreadsheet at work. It was supposed to help me manage my AN appointments. Then I added in all my major pregnancy milestones. Then my minor pregnancy milestones. Next I started to use it as a countdown to ML starting. Then I added some pie charts to show me how far through the pg I was. Then I added some pie charts showing the % of time left until ML was due to start. Finally I amended it so that it was all parameter driven, so that I tweaky dates etc. and have everything automatically update.

It was fab. And looked like work to anyone passing.

BlueCrane · 23/01/2012 11:20

pip Grin Grin at your spreadsheet...I sooo need to do one of those!!

Missgiraffe1 · 23/01/2012 11:24

"Has anyone else stopped counting how many weeks they are and started counting the number of weeks left until mat leave instead?"

YES! I also worked it out in days last night. I have 12 weeks left. As 9 of those are 4 day weeks (did I mention that already??) I actually only have 51 days left to work! This has done absolutely nothing for my motivation.

I am supposed to start work at 8.30am, e-mailed my boss to say I'll probably start at 9.30 from now on, as not sleeping well. Got to my desk at 9.40, still half asleep Confused as I work from home.

Think I need a rocket up my arse.

Missgiraffe1 · 23/01/2012 11:25

Blue I thought you were 'working'?? Wink

Missgiraffe1 · 23/01/2012 11:28

But, am with you on the LOL at Pip's spreadsheets/pie charts !!

BlueCrane · 23/01/2012 11:28

missg the canteen doesn't open until 12.30 so i can still fit my 'power hour' in from now Hmm I have at least covered my desk in drawings ready to start my work in between checking MN Grin

Macaroons · 23/01/2012 13:35

piprabbit I love your excel chart idea. I had a spreadsheet to work out EDD etc but now it's more impressive with a graph Grin I'm only 8w so ages to go!
