Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Hey :) I'm new here!

I'm 7+4 and due 9th September.

Gotta work my way around these forums now!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 26/01/2012 08:09

Thinking of you Hercules Sad.

Fingers crossed for a good result aliens and so pleased for you iph!!!

I love OBEM too! I though it was fab last night. I could not believe the second lady (halinka?) who just popped the baby out in one go!!!! That was amazing! I have never heard of anything like that!!!
Still feeling rotten, although I'll tentatively say I think I am a bit better; it's a good job as DD is home with me now for the rest of the week, I would have struggled if I'd been as bad as yesterday.

Macaroons · 26/01/2012 09:51

oikopolis agree with you that pregnancy is so mysterious that there isn't much we can do apart from keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. We tend to worry about everything, (eg lack of symptom for me) although we know worrying doesn't help we can't stop worrying and googling! And this is only the beginning!

Hope all of us will sail through our pregnancy and give birth to healthy babies! For those of you having some bleeding, am keeping my fingers crossed for you that you have a strong bean inside you!

adviceandreassuranceneeded · 26/01/2012 09:57

Trying to remain positive, when I was pregnant with my eldest DD it would have been difficult to even achieve a pregnancy result before 8 weeks!

Technological advances aren't always a good thing as it just gives us far more bloody time to worry about things!!!

holls2000 · 26/01/2012 12:03

Oooph what a day. Went to the loo and a tiny bit of blood sent me into total meltdown. Rang EPU and have scan next Fri at 10.30am - then went to the loo again and nothing there. I think it was probably my first lot of spotting but absolutely terrified me. How silly am I?

FloydieDoydie · 26/01/2012 12:05

I'm so upset with bastarding tesco Sad I've been desperately wanting their raspberry sorbet, but we havent been shopping there recently. So DP said I could use our vouchers to do a mini online shop just for me. and the only thing they substituted was my sorbet

They sent me poxy lemon sorbet and mince pie ice cream. What the fuck?! Angry In what world is that anything like raspberry sorbet? I think they were just trying to to offload some shite leftover from Christmas. Well that was rejected anyway!

But now I'm grumpy and eating galaxy chocolate in bed instead.

Clearly these are the least of most people's worries - I'm so pleased for the good news scan results some of you have had Smile And fingers crossed for others still waiting.

I'm still obsessively peeing on sticks and squashing my boobs to see if they hurt. No news yet on whether I can have an early reassurance scan though. I just want to know everything is going okay after last time.

Ah well, I can but hope.

Hotcupofteaplease · 26/01/2012 14:15

MrsHP fingers crossed for you that the next scan goes well...

Iph and whatevertheweather congratulations! I am so happy for you both.

holls2000 not silly at all; this is a terrifying time and every little symptom is analysed in great detail, the mere sight of a spot of blood would have most of us reaching for the phone to call the EPU. I would keep the scan date, go along and put your mind at rest.

Iph and Dorita Grin at the secret handshake. Can you imagine walking up to a stranger in the women's and proceeding to frantically shake their hand?! We would definitely recognise eachother then; we'd be the three being escorted from the premises Wink

Whatevertheweather · 26/01/2012 14:27

Oh MrsHP I'm so sorry you're going through this - I will be thinking of you and praying that your scan next week is more positive.

Iph wow what a massive relief that must have been. So pleased for you xx

How did it go today Alien?

oikopolis · 26/01/2012 15:07

thinking of you Alien

MillontheFloss · 26/01/2012 15:51

Good luck to those awaiting reassurance scans and congratulations to those who have had them.

I had mine today. Saw the heartbeat and it's all measuring right for dates.

So relieved but I know it's not a done deal yet. Reassuringly the sonographer said once they have seen the heartbeat the odds of miscarriage are just 5%.

Rusulka · 26/01/2012 15:53

Ladies in Liverpool, how about a codeword to use in conversation? Slightly easier to be subtle that way, if you're barking up the wrong tree. Grin

Still spotting here, unbelievably. Rang the EPU today and told them absolutely everything I could think of, and they should ring me back today, after checking with a midwife for me. Just really hope they ring back soon, as I stupidly gave them the home number instead of my mobile and I want to chat to my dad! Idiot.

I expect they're just going to tell me not to worry.

In other news, my sore boobs are back. It's just been the nipples for a few weeks, but yesterday and today my boobs have been really sore. I overslept til 2:30 this afternoon Blush and when I woke up I was on my back- when I rolled sideways and they moved, they were screaming in agony.

Anyone else noticed their boobs hurt more if they lie on their back overnight?

ballroomblitz · 26/01/2012 16:04

Grin Floydie you sound like me when they ran out of the Fentiman's ginger beer for 3 days in a row!! I was not impressed.

Good news Million My scan seems miles away as I know we don't get them until 12 weeks.

Ugh, my dp has booked off work next week so he can go to my booking appointment. Am I the only one who finds that a bit weird? Bless he's all excited because this is his first. I've tried to explain that those appointments aren't the most exciting and he'd be better saving the days off for the big scan ones.

Had a wee emotional moment this morning in the bath thinking of my ds and how he's going to react and how I hope he doesn't feel left out. I'm filling up thinking of it now. Bloody hormones.

MissCoffeeNWine · 26/01/2012 16:27

12 weeks - well if you're lucky it's 12! Can be up to 14. My last one was at 13w 0 days and this one is booked for 13w and 5 days. We all know how slowly time ticks so be prepared for that!

I had an appointment today to find out the post mortem results of my last baby, and my consultant gave me a sneaky scan for this one, so we saw a tiny shape with a flickering heartbeat. Never seen a baby so early before. Glad it's all in ther right place but there's a long, dangerous road ahead for the tiny little thing.

MillontheFloss · 26/01/2012 16:37

Yeah, my 8 week scan was due to a previous loss so I think that's the only way for a free early scan. You can pay for an early scan privately if you're not eligible on the NHS which we would have done if we were unable to have a free one at the EPU.

It is reassuring seeing the little blob and it heartbeat but I agree MrsCoffee we're not gonna consider ourselves out of the danger zone just yet....

Alienontheisland · 26/01/2012 16:51

Hi Ladies,

Went for my scan this morning, and the sonographer said all looks right, measuring 6 + 3, but no heartbeat. I was cock on a block sure I saw one at the private scan. Anyway long story short, they can not go by private scans, so they left me with false hope and said to return next week.

Got to work, had a wee and low and behold my bake bean was there. Last miscarriage I never saw anything, just had bleeding and empty womb. I was in complete shock. Had to stick my hand in the loo to get it out (face slap). I need some testing doing to see why I keep miscarrying. I'm sorry to share my sad news with you. But you only realize how often this happens when you sit in the EPAU. 100's of women go through the same thing I just did. So I take solace in the fact that we are all united by unconditional maternal love. 6 days, 6 weeks, 6 hours old. For that brief moment our hearts know of nothing more intense.

I hold on to the fact that I have a wonderful loving husband and beautiful 6 year old daughter who are my world.

Tonight I shall drink to my bake bean. The baby that never made it, but who was loved before conception.

You all look after yourselves. Treasure your nearest and dearest and appreciate what a roll of the dice this life really is.

God Bless

xxx

Littlecherublegs · 26/01/2012 16:52

I am seeing the doc on 6th Feb so might request an early scan then as have had a previous MC. Am 6+4 weeks so the 12 weeks scan seems ages away and like you say, it might even be a 13-14 weeks scan!!

Current symptoms are sore boobage still (ouch!) and craving starchy foods like crisps esp. French Fries and Quavers!! Very healthy huh?!

I also feel like my waist is disappearing already!! Shock
Def put on weight - some of my clothes are getting tight already!! Is this normal???

holls2000 · 26/01/2012 16:56

So, having had a drop of blood this a.m, then nothing, there's now more. Only when I wipe (TMI sorry). But still. Next Friday seems such a long way off and I feel totally hopeless. xx

Ponyclubmum · 26/01/2012 16:57

I'm really sorry Alien :(

Whatevertheweather · 26/01/2012 17:00

Alien I'm so sorry how heartbreaking for you. Until I lost my dd I always took for granted falling pregnant meant you got a baby at the end. Best wishes to you and your family xx

Cherub my waist has definitely thickened but I remember this from last time. In my case it was a lot of bloating and went away after 12 weeks. Didn't end up having to go in to maternity wear until 20+ weeks.

oikopolis · 26/01/2012 17:07

Alien
so sorry.

You are in my thoughts. You DD and all your other babies are lucky to be so loved x

LittleSpade · 26/01/2012 17:39

Yay :o iph, whatevertheweather, and millonthefloss for your fantastic news and strong beans.

So sorry to hear of others losses. Try and stay strong. It will happen when it's meant to.

I had really crappy start to the day today but reading some of the posts on here really puts it into perspective. Woke up at 5am for a wee and couldn't get back to sleep as i was cold, thirsty, felt sick and DH was breathing loudly in his sleep. Got myself more and more cross, couldn't get comfy with sore heavy boobs and started thinking about work issues (whether to expand my business or shut it down and become a housewife when i have baby). After a while DH stired and i asked him the time - he said 5.05am - i thought thats ages till alarm time then i really will have to get up and go and get a drink and a snack - left the room only for the clock on the landing to tell me it was actually 6.05am (only 15 mins before DH alarm time) which for some reason made me really mad for getting out of bed when he could have got my drink for me 15 min later - how selfish Blush.

Then was meant to leave the house at 9am to go on a site visit for work but forgot stuff and had to go back and forth to car like a million times before i was ready so already running late. The realised that when i'd asked DH last night if the car had petrol and he'd said 'yes' he's actually meant 'no' or 'i've not looked' so had to go back in house again to get wallet so i could get petrol. Couldn't find it anywhere - ensue lots of tears, shouting at DH on phone, and panickedly tipping out bags - eventually at 10am it was found in the car glove box Blush. Rang client to say i was going to be late and give a new ETA only to get stuck in traffic on M25 and be late again! Argh!

Apart from now worrying that all the stress was bad for bean it really wasn't all that bad in the grand scheme of things and i feel rather silly for making such a drama out of it. Out for curry tonight so hope the day will end better than it started (so long as i don't fall askeep in my dinner!)

TinkerMaloo · 26/01/2012 17:41

alien :( sorry hun

LittleSpade · 26/01/2012 17:42

I hope the number of typos in that last post don't indicate a high likelihood of face in curry tonight Hmm

york67 · 26/01/2012 17:42

So sorry alien.
