Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Too late here, have had a shocking cough for last 3 weeks and now have a cold on top :(!
DS2 is suffering too so have had 4 rubbish nights and early mornings with him. 5.30 he woke us up this morning SOB!

Moan over (for now!)

Whatevertheweather · 25/01/2012 08:16

Thinking of you today Iph and MrsHP fx we all have positive scans today xx

crowette · 25/01/2012 09:13

I posted on the last page, but didn't know where to add myself in the stats list due to my haywire cycles, so am estimating based on my LMP seeing as my previous two cycles were normal length for a change.

I had tender boobs all day yesterday at work, by the time I got home they'd gone back to normal and I was worrying slightly, but when I went to bed and took off my bra - oh.my.god. agony!!! I just could not get comfortable, it felt like I was wearing 2 huge water balloons, they felt so heavy.

Another new symptom - inability to type/spell. I'm having to retype almost every word it seems.

I also made the mistake of trying to be healthy and have veg stir fry for dinner last night ... been trumping since Blush

fruitloop101 · 25/01/2012 09:25

I am so utterly exhausted. Just had to share!

MeltedMoments · 25/01/2012 09:46

Thinking of all those having scans today xxx

I'm shattered too... and nauseous! DD2 was up in the night with her bad cough so have kept her off school today. We are both snuggled under quilts on the sofa lol.
Might have to see if I can persuade her to have a little nap later but I doubt it'll happen. I could fall asleep standing up!

flipflopper · 25/01/2012 10:47

ohh my morning sickness has well and truly kicked in today, had a horrible morning, trying to hide it from the kids. And to make it worse, the dog had wee'd in the kitchen so had to mop that up.
I need to go into work today, ughhh

lauraj78 · 25/01/2012 11:02

I'm finding that I'm nauseous with this pregnancy (2nd) & carby foods are the only thing I can eat without struggling. Hopefully this will get better & I'll be able to include protein, fruit & veg in my diet again!

Just been to my gp's to inform them I'm pregnant & she's going to contact the hospital midwives to organise my booking in appointment I should also get an earlier scan (maybe 8-10 wks) cos of my epilepsy.
It makes it seem more real now I've set the ball rolling with regards to appointments :)

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 11:16

Congrats and welcomes to everyone new. I'm no longer last on the due list Grin

Yay to everyone who is also getting big bellies and it's not just me.

Got in contact with my mw yesterday and I have my booking in appt arranged for next week. Their clinic days are completely booked up for weeks but she is bringing me in on a non-clinic day so she can get an urgent referral to my consultant re previous early pre-eclampsia and ds's IUGR. She's believes I will probably have to go on low dose aspirin this time.

Still no ms though I did feel a bit nauseous this morning when I smelt my wee. Kind of strong and funny smelling as others have said.

Feel like I'm going through PMT from hell. Everything my poor dp says is just winding me up the wrong way. I near bit the head off him when he told me I was putting too much coffee in my cup this morning. At this rate he won't want to give me my engagement ring on Friday as he has planned!!

Good luck to everyone having scans today. Hope it's all good news x

Sunflower101 · 25/01/2012 11:16

I think I've been overdoing the ginger nuts, jeans are struggle today. They help with nausea tho. Dr rang me wanting me give another urine sample, can't help but wonder why....forgot to ask and surgery was v busy when I went in. Hope it's not diabetes....

LittleSpade · 25/01/2012 11:31

Argh stupid pregnancy brain! Just told mw that i'm 6.5 weeks and i'm actually 7 weeks (well 6+6). Worried she's made a booking for me on that basis and i'll be later than others for all my appointments/scans now!

I have a pre-screening appointment with the mw on 10th Feb (by which time i'll be 9+1) at the birthing centre but no news on booking appointment or scans at hospital which usually get arranged after that initial appointment with the mw.

WinkyWinkola · 25/01/2012 11:41

I have been guzzling crackers called Doriano's. It's a miracle - they really really help me with ms and I get dreadful ms.

Waitrose and Tescoids stock them.

dancechick · 25/01/2012 11:54

Hi Guys

Am new to Mumsnet, so excuse the lack of acronyms! Wink

Got married on 30th Dec and were going to wait a few months before trying. Family ganged up on me and said "oooh, could take months - you'd better not wait!" My first period was late (V unusual for me!), so decided to do a test on Sunday - BFP!!!!! Eeeeeeekkkkk!! Shock

Too early for ms, but have had awful back ache (low down) since Saturday. Is this normal, or is it non-pg related?! Anybody know?

Due date is 27th Sept 2012.

holls2000 · 25/01/2012 12:35

Had my booking appt with MW on Monday - made it feel really real (stupid?!) and also she put my mind at rest that all my aches and pains are normal. Bit crampy today but she said that's ok and just everything stretching. Could do with the bean stretching less but ho hum.

Am tired. Am so so tired. I'm normally so bouncy and I feel I have lost my bounce totally....! Even one of the kids at school asked why I wasn't like Tigger anymore...

Tired. By 7.30pm I'm really tearful, I'm that tired. Tell me I'll feel awake again. Please :)

Dorita75 · 25/01/2012 13:06

Hi dancechick what a fab surprise! Lower backache is common so don't worry.

I had 1st mw appointment today, just lots of questions about my and family's health, blood and wee tests...mw was nice enough but seemed a bit away with the fairies, think she was bored. Had lovely bright orange lipstick on tho Confused

Scan date is booked for 20th Feb, that seems years away so going to book a private one for next week, just to check there is something there!

Big Brew and Flowers to everyone feeling knackered, snotty, sick, crampy...when does the blooming start?!

Hotcupofteaplease · 25/01/2012 14:00

lauraj78 I'm exactly the same; nauseous, which I wasn't with my 1st and can only stomach carbs (sitting in work eating a white baguette and crisps). I wonder if it's something to do with the sex of the baby... Hmm

Dancechick congratulations! Lower backache is very common; unfortunately, I had it for the whole 9 months with my first and it's back again now.

Dorita did you have your booking in appt at the women's? Did you decide to go for the NT scan etc when you are 12 weeks? (Feel free to tell me to mind my own business if you don't want to say Smile ). I know what you mean about the scan feeling years away; mine is booked for the 13th Feb, feels like a lifetime away!

I am also utterly shattered; I think working full time and looking after a 2 year old does not go hand in hand with being pregnant!

Hope everyone with colds, flu etc is feeling better soon x

quitcomplaining · 25/01/2012 14:36

I'm just checking in to have a grumble. Hit the 6 week mark and am now feeling knakered and sick round the clock. As well as very tetchy and snappy towards dd and dp. Sad

I don't remember feeling this awful last time. I could easily go to bed for a whole week I think!

Does anyone know if the level of 'roughness' is an indicator of sex?

I have my initial consultation with nurse at doctors tomorrow so hopefully she will be able to get ball rolling with midwifes, scan etc.

Apologies for the very self indulgent post! Hope everyone else is ok.

dancechick · 25/01/2012 14:45

Hotcupofteaplease and Dorita- thanks for the reassurance (though not too keen on the thought of 9 months of this!) Wink.

It all seems so surreal - the doctor (saw her on monday as it happened - so was able to give her the unexpected news) is referring me to the local maternity unit. So now I have to wait for my booking in appt......have taken my third pregnancy test just to make sure I wasn't dreaming and to see how far I am along (it said 3+ weeks!) - not that I'm obsessive at all Wink

lurkingmurking · 25/01/2012 15:29

ballroom oooooo re engagement ring!! Has he proposed already?

dancechick how fab!

I'm feeling tearful and crap today too. We had an awful night with DS (2) who work up at 1am covered in wee so had to change him and then he didn't go back to sleep for 2 hours - urgh. Early nights all round here!!

Dorita75 · 25/01/2012 15:50

I don't know how those of you who have children already are coping! At least I can be selfindulgent about being tired etc..well done to you all!

hotcupofteaplease yes, went to women's. I'm going to have the NF scan but actually, if it's a high risk result, I think we're going to go ahead anyway as I don't think I could face the tests and potential for miscarriage - so don't know really know why I'm having it. I suppose if it's low risk it gives you piece of mind but even that's not definate. Even high risk doesn't mean definate so you're in the same boat either way!

No problem asking me anything - am happy to talk about this pregnancy malarky till the cows come home Grin

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 15:58

Dorita don't want to be pessimistic but I think the 'blooming' is a myth. If it happens, it's about months 4-6 I reckon. I felt and looked like total and utter crap nearly the whole of my last pregnancy. Blooming pain in the a** if you ask me Grin

What a lovely way to start married life dancechick

lurking yes he has indeed but being the traditionalist he wanted to ask my dad first before presenting me with a ring. Dad has been working abroad and just home this week. I can't wait to be able to tell people properly. We had arranged to get engaged before we found out I was pregnant but now everyone's going to think that is the reason. Ah well, we know the truth.

LittleSpade · 25/01/2012 16:12

ballroomblitz oooh congratulations on the engagement :o Don't let other people judge your relationship decisions / baby timing - i've been married almost 5 years and i think a lot of people had given up on us having DC so you can't win either way.

Hi FirstTimeForEverything [waves]

I'm currently 6+6 ( 6 weeks and 6 days) with my first on my first attempt too and I know how you're feeling. I had stomach cramps / stretchy pains really low down in my tummy up to about week 5 (as well as lower backache) and until I'd got the BFP my DH was convinced I'd just pulled a stomach muscle! Since the start of week 6 I've been feeling very nauseous and have had to really watch how often I eat. It tends to be bad first thing in the morning (till about 10am) and then comes back just before lunch and again between 4 and 7pm (we don't usually eat dinner till around 8pm) so seems to be blood suger level related (a problem which i've also experienced in the past). It also gets worse on days when I'm extra tired / had a late night.

I have been getting my DH to bring me tea and sometimes toast or a cracker in bed before he leaves for work in the morning and been trying to eat slightly smaller main meals so that i can snack more frequently in between.

Good luck with the snacking Wink

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 16:55

Very true LittleSpade and thank you :)

FirstTime I'm the same stage, EDD 21st. I had the cramps and tiredness. Cramps away but tiredness still here. Yes I've been getting a 'bit out of it' type feelings and dizzy but I had put it down to stopping smoking. Poor body's not used to getting so much oxygen running through it Grin

I've also tendancies to get low blood sugar which result in me feeling headachey, dizzy and visibly shakey. Smaller meals throughout the day help and fruit like grapes or dried fruit are great for a sugar pick-me-up.

rightontime · 25/01/2012 16:55

Hello everyone. I haven't posted for a while but have been keeping up with what everyone is doing. Wanted to check in incase there was any news from those that had scans today. Hoping they were all good news for you. x
