Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

I dont know ballroom I felt pretty good all the way through my last pregnancy and in the second trimester I did really feel as if I bloomed! So it definitely does happen in some cases. Based on the first few weeks of this pg though, I think I've had my turn though! I feel crapola so far! Wink

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 25/01/2012 16:59

Oh and congrats on the engagement!!!

FX for those who've had scans. Xxx

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 17:06

Lucky you Ethel Grin I really hope I am blessed with looking and feeling blooming this time. I have photos of myself at the end of my pregnancy and I've lost count of the amount of people who have asked me who it is. Honestly I look totally horrendous.

Saying that I have had friends' who look all shiney and glowy the whole way through Envy

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 17:06

Thank you :)

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 25/01/2012 17:20

Ha ha!Grin
Yeah I looked pretty good until DD was born, then I looked grey for about a week after and then I've just looked knackered since! Grin

Dorita75 · 25/01/2012 17:28

I'm hoping I take after the women on my Dad's side who all 'sailed through pregnancy' and not my poor Mum & Granma's side who puked every day practically! Okay so far on the puking etc..though of course lack of symptoms is worrying me too...

Got weighted at mw app today and am 4 lbs heavier than normal - all because I'm eating chelsea buns, bread at every meal, tonnes of cheese, bowls of rice crispies, bagels etc...should be on more fruit and veg but it's so hard when you feel like you'll puke if you don't get carbs...am worried I'm going to be a huge big fat momma! Anyone else???

Dorita75 · 25/01/2012 17:29

I mean weighed of course....

Whatevertheweather · 25/01/2012 17:46

Hello Smile

Been for my scan and seen the little bean with a clear heartbeat, yay! The only slightly worrying thing is by my lmp (30th Nov) I should be 8 weeks today and it only measured 6 weeks 5 days. Consultant didn't seem overly concerned but I'm worried it's not developing properly. Has anyone experienced this before?

LittleSpade · 25/01/2012 18:02

Yay for seeing the bean and heartbeat whatevertheweather :o

stargirl1701 · 25/01/2012 18:18

I'm also due in Sept. I'm 8+3 and worrying. We had a miscarriage at 9 weeks last time so hoping for a better outcome. I'm not sleeping well and being very grumpy. DH has been fab with it all!

MrsHerculePoirot · 25/01/2012 18:43

Brillliant news whatevertheweather!

Unfortunately not such good news from my scan - there is a sac, but they couldn't find a heartbeat and far too small for dates. I have to go back next Thursday for another scan to confirm, but it is all over. Would someone be able to remove me from the list please?

I hope everyone else has uneventful pregnancies. x

Macaroons · 25/01/2012 19:29

whatevertheweather It's great to see the little bean's heart beating in the right place, isnt it :) I think LMP assumes your period is 28 days, and I'm pretty sure mine isn't. So when my GP told me that my EDD is 5/9 despite me telling her I ovulated on day 22 is complete rubbish. When I had my scan on 7+4 and the measurement of my bean suggests he/she is 6+3 - which ties in with my ovulation date! So I dont think it's because our beans are developing slowly, it's just that they are a week or so younger!

MrsHP did the sonographer / GP assume you ovulate on day 14 / have 28 days cycle? coz I think a 5-week old and 6-week old bean is quite different as they develop alot during that one week!! don't lose heart, fingers crossed for you for next week's scan!

welcome to more new joiners to this thread! :)

Iph · 25/01/2012 19:36

Oh MrsHP, I'm so so sorry, that is so unfair and just shit. I know you won't feel like there is any hope at the moment but there are stories from women on here that have measured too small at the first scan only to get good news at the next - I so hope you are one of them. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

I have a bit more faith in miracles today having incredibly, despite all the bleeding, seen a tiny bean with a strong heartbeat at my scan.
I was shocked and shaking so forgot to ask half the questions I should have but sonographer was able to see a sub chorionic haematoma which is likely the source of the bleeding. He said it's small and looks to be resolving so they weren't concerned, I really hope it goes soon because my nerves can't take much more of the bleeding and I know they can increase chances of miscarriage.

Thank you so much for all your thoughts and good wishes. I really thought it was all over, so much so that I feel a bit shell shocked or something, I didn't have a plan for this!

Whatever I'm so pleased to hear your good news! This bean was measuring 7.3 today when I should have been 8w exactly according to the last scan - I was immediately worried but sonographer and doctor didn't bat an eyelid. They said everything is so small that's it's nearly impossible to get a precise measurement and it's normal for the to be off by up to 6 days. Scan today was abdominal as well, whereas last one was TV and I've read that abdominal can underestimate dates slightly. Might you also have ovulated later than you thought? It's hard not to worry but we have to take heart in the fact that the professionals weren't worried.

Macaroons · 25/01/2012 19:44

Iph so happy that you saw the beating heart at the scan! hope the bleeding will be resolved soon, but if the professionals aren't worried, you can relax abit now!

oikopolis · 25/01/2012 20:00

Iph I am so happy for you, congratulations. Wonderful wonderful news.

Dorita75 · 25/01/2012 20:26

Congratulations iph brilliant news, what a relief. Can't remember but think you're in Liverpool? I was at womens this morning for booking in with midwife, wonder if you were there too? Smile

Congrats too whatevertheweather Yay to healthy heartbeats all round!!

Alienontheisland · 25/01/2012 20:32

Iph - I've been following your progress and so happy to see the light for you.

MrsHP - my heart is with you in this time.

I went for my private scan on Saturday - saw a heartbeat an everything looked fine.

However, Yesterday at work went to loo, and found I was bleeding.
Having this happen in November, it's all a bit surreal, you wait for it to happen and when it starts you absolutely shit your best pants! Think actually 2nd time round is worse. You know whats happening and it's scary. Called doctor who has booked me in with EPAU tomorrow morning. Over night no more blood, but today I got some terrible cramps. Do you prepare for the worse. I'm my case I do.

I don't mean to scare anyone, but as I've learnt, there is no certainty. We are all in Gods hands. Throughout this pregnancy I have been A+ student. I barely moved. We have no control of this and we need to just accept and not loose our minds. I've googled myself into oblivion.

I'm not very hopeful for the internal scan tomorrow, however if by some miracle my bake bean is still beating, I may very well become emotional. (I am not very emotional).

So for the ladies who are doing well, I p
ray you all have a problem free pregnancy, make sure at the end of it all you give your little bundle a squeeze from me.

For the ladies having bleeding, may it be something of nothing.

Much love to you all!

OutMeAndDie · 25/01/2012 21:04

Crossed posts alie thinking of you

ballroomblitz · 25/01/2012 21:56

Fab news Whatevertheweather

MrsHP I remember a similar thing happening to a woman on the thread I was on when I was pregnant before and it turned out ok at the next scan. I really hope it is the same for you.

Iph that is great. I'm sure you are so relieved.

Indeed Alienontheisland there is no certainty at all. Fingers crossed it all goes well for you tomorrow.

Thank you OutMeAndDie.

pgreen · 25/01/2012 22:19

off for first midwife appt tomorrow. I've been really anxious as should be 8wk on Friday but I'm still not having any other symptoms at all.... might be paranoid or could just be.....

fingers and toes crossed

Iph · 25/01/2012 22:47

Oh bloody hell, alien I'm so sorry you're going through the same worry. I can relate to so much of your post, especially having had a recent previous loss and had absolutely prepared myself for and believed the worst. But I did get a mini-miracle and there is no reason why you shouldn't either.

I did have a small chuckle at 'googling yourself into oblivion' because it's so true, even though I would advise anyone to stay away from Dr Google, you just can't help it. My search history looks very sad now
'no symptoms early pregnancy' ' bleeding early pregnancy' '5 week ultrasound' 'sub chorionic hematoma' 'measurement ultrasound early pregnancy'
Just some of the frantic searches I have conducted recently, and many more variations on a theme - step away from the interweb crazy ladies!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you.

Congratulations Ballroom on the engagement, very exciting year for you!

Yes Dorita I was indeed at the Women's today but in the afternoon. I have become uncomfortably familiar with the Emergency Room! How funny that we may bump into each other there at some point, and Hotcuppa as well! Will have to work out a secret handshake or something for identification.

Did anyone see OBEM? Tricia and her husband (and gorgeous baby Elizabeth) undid me completely. Dh came rushing in from watching footie next door to check why I was sobbing so loudly Blush What a lovely story.

WaitingForLittleR · 25/01/2012 22:49

It just amazes me the rollercoaster that every one of us is on, and the world around us oblivious.

MrsHP you're going through exactly what I'm worried about; scan on Tues. My thoughts are with you.

Whatever and IPH - delighted for you both!

Kellzi - all ok today?

oikopolis · 25/01/2012 23:51

Alien agreed, if nothing else pg teaches you that you are really a small, frail little being in a very large universe. We all have to give in to this process and trust it, despite being afraid and wanting desperately to be able to take control. It's humbling and painful at the same time.

I'm thinking of you and your tiny bean, I hope it all goes well tomorrow. I hope there's peace in your heart no matter what comes to pass.

Dorita75 · 26/01/2012 07:06

Will be thinking about you today alien x

iph Love the idea of a secret handshake!

I also blubbed at OBEM, dp also coming in from playing football manager in next room to check on me Grin was so emotional for them, the way she kept thinking they wouldn't let her keep her baby. The other couple seemed a bit ungrateful, crazy how quick she was tho.
