Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

OP posts:

mrsmaccas · 17/01/2012 20:38

Bloody internet packed up so two posts saying same thing...

mrsmaccas · 17/01/2012 20:42

I've also had very restless sleep. I wrongly assumed the first trimester meant you were completely wiped out and could sleep for England (and anywhere else you might be from) but it seems that waking up and being restless is normal. These forums provide some comfort :)

MrsHerculePoirot · 17/01/2012 20:44

mrsmaccas I think perhaps it is one or the other, I am sure last time I just slept and slept and slept... however I had found out I was pregnant in New Zealand so perhaps that was just jet lag!!!

mrsmaccas · 17/01/2012 20:48

I certainly slept in the beginning when I didn't realise - we'd been trying but I didn't think we'd managed - perhaps finding out made me think OMG this is now real!

Loopyhasanotherbean · 17/01/2012 21:06

err sorry to be a party pooper but unless the advice has changed since i had DS, mcdonalds milkshakes, mcflurries, mr whippy ice creams etc are off limits during pregnancy, listeria risk, you can't be sure how old the mix is/when the machines were last properly cleaned (and many moons ago i used to work at a burger king, and i know how much of a pain in the arse those machines are to dismantle to clean properly, and how many people wouldn't do it daily like the rules stated so i personally didn't risk consuming any of these during my last pregnancy)

WaitingForLittleR · 17/01/2012 21:16

MrsHerculePoirot your kind invitation has lured out this lurker! Smile

I would also hesitantly like to join... I think I'm 7+4 just now, which makes me due about 1/9/12. This will be our first, and we can't wait. Discovered an mmc in October so finding it very hard to trust that all is well this time. They think 7+4 is the point I lost the last one though I didn't find out till nearly 12 weeks. Have set 9 weeks as a goal this time to wait for before I go for a private scan, it seems to take aaages!

Doing my best to be positive and calm at the same time though! Not as tired this time around at all - so far anyway, though boobs very sore. Sometimes very slightly queasy. Quite bloated, but again not as bad as last time around I think. Not telling a soul, only DH and you lovely ladies! Reading your posts is keeping me sane! Keeping fingers crossed for missuswife and everyone else who is having a worrying time xx

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 17/01/2012 21:25

Fingers crossed missuswife and anyone else going through it. Hope you get a positive outcome.

Think loopy is right although I have received my booklet from the mw and ice cream etc etc aren't mentioned. I do remember though that last time even things like coleslaw and stuff from the salad bar were on the 'avoid' list.

6+3 today and just feel like it is taking forever to get to the 12 week stage!! Can't wait til my booking appt on Friday, even though I am sure it'll be a non-event!!! Trying to convince DH to get booked in for our NT at 11 weeks rather than 12, so we can tell people sooner, but DH is having none of it.. Grin

Dorita75 · 17/01/2012 21:32

Fingers crossed for you missuswife xx

Glad to see I'm not the only one not getting symptoms bar the sore boobs although my stomach is already forming a bit of a bloated bump. Dp couldn't keep his hands off it today until I joked it was constipation Grin

Loopy as long as I can have my McD's sausage and egg mcmuffin I'll be happy.

Eek mrsmaccas you count your caffeine intake in chocolate too?? I can't count how many cups of tea I've had today and that's on top of a big bag of aero bubbles and dairy milk giant buttons. Tomorrow I shall be starting the no more than three cups of tea/coffee a day like I did with dc1. That killed me more than not having a drink.

Indeed good luck for your appt tomorrow missuswife and everyone else who is anxious at the minute.

Loup23 · 17/01/2012 21:38

Welcome waiting congratulations on the landmark and good luck!

Hope all is ok missuswife let us know how the scan goes, sending you lots of positive thoughts.

whatever I also really want chocolate milkshakes but not really dipping chips in them.... I've found I crave fruit more (oranges and grapes) whereas usually I never eat any fruit, apart from that I'm off food generally - anyone else?

Oh and sorry for previously ignoring you whatever - I am North Hampshire , probably Basingstoke Hosp but I know Southampton very well - are you between Soton and Pmouth did you say?

Whatevertheweather · 17/01/2012 21:48

Yes Loup I'll be at QA for birth. I haven't gone off food I am actually feeling more hungry than normal. Definitely more than in my last 2.

Boooo Loopy I did not know that Sad I did know about Mr Whippy vans so I suppose it makes sense. Tried to have a look on milkshakes but seems to be a variety of opinions. He wouldn't go away mean bugger

Welcome and congratulations to new joiners Smile

BatCave · 17/01/2012 21:52

Hello I would like to very hesitantly join you all! I had a very faint line this morning (3 days late) so I guess I'd be 4+3 due 23rd September. A little bit eeeek as we've been ttc for 7 months. Grin This will be DC2, we have a 19 month old daughter.

I've been really nauseous today. And the insomnia is crippling. The biggest 'symptom' I've had is my milk supply dropping, but my boobs aren't sore at all. Its strange, in my first pg I didn't have any symptoms till around 6 weeks and even then they weren't too bad!

Ooh and I'm 29. Just thought as I wrote that, won't be drinking for my 30th in March then Wink

Jungliebird · 17/01/2012 22:14

Hi, tentatively joining this group.

Due date around 13/9/12, no idea on the ?+? as this is our first and not seeing the mw for a couple of weeks. Possibly 5+5?!

Hoping you guys will help me through as DH off for 7 mths in a couple of weeks, here's hoping he makes the birth don't fancy being alone for that bit!

Loopyhasanotherbean · 17/01/2012 22:21

welcome to the newbies, looks like September is going to be a busy month for midwives!

yes chocolate contains caffeine. I switch to decaff tea during pregnancy, that way there is no worries about how much chocolate you have (within reason!!) but occasionally i have a proper cuppa as decaff isn't quite the same!!

hope missuswife is ok, such a worrying time until we all get to the 12 week point, (although if you are like me, the worrying never stops, even once DS was here i worried about so many things!!)

oh and as long as your egg is fully cooked then an egg mcmuffin is fine lol (i think they are fully cooked but i've never eaten one so i can't be sure!)

ThreeForTea · 17/01/2012 22:56

missuswife :( fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

Wave to new ladies and congratulations.

Nothing too much to report here this evening, just tired, tired, tired. So dozy at the mo that I got the date wrong of a friends leaving party and missed it, dates wrong for a conference and turned up a week early, and today missed my first MW appt because I was aiming for one instead of twelve. What a loser! Also only just avoided heading to London this eve by my mum reminding me that a ceremony my cousin is having for becoming a vicar is actually next week and not today. That would have been annoying!

Hope everyone gets a peaceful nights rest :)

mrsmaccas · 17/01/2012 23:44

Anyone watch 15 Kids and Counting? So glad that couple's twins were delivered safely and she was ok. Preg hormones kicked in - I felt quite weepy. But safe to say 2 or 3 kids only for me :)

mrsmaccas · 17/01/2012 23:46

ballroomblitz fortunately I'm not a tea or coffee or coke drinker (due to headaches it gives me) so I don't have to think caffeine on that score. Shame I like chocolate but TBH I haven't eaten as much as normal

ballroomblitz · 17/01/2012 23:49

congrats to everyone new.

BatCave my birthday is in March too. We were talking about going to Rome for it but might postpone as I'm a nightmare flier without a few valium and drinks down my neck.

Awww Jungliebird do you have a lot of friends and family round you for support while your DH is away? Hopefully fingers crossed he will be home for you at the labour. Seems like ages away but it will fly in.

Loopy I must have been a bad mummy in my last preg because I still ate slightly soft eggs once in a while after the first trimester. Only when I cooked them and knew they had been vaccinated against salmonella (lion brand). My friend owns a farm and all the eggs she brought in for me were passed to dp and I didn't eat any abroad. Good thing you reminded me about the ice cream as I had a notion on one from the ice cream van. It's amazing how much I've forgotten in four years.

Not normally a big chocolate eater. Have hardly had any sleep from Friday due to a dodgy shoulder so I think it's my body craving energy.

Baby brain already ThreeFor? Grin

Anyone else noticed themselves going off certain foods already? I can't seem to stand anything fried atm. Tried to eat a fried mushroom Sunday and nearly boked. Even crisps taste greasy and weird. And coffee - coming from the person who normally has three cups before I leave the house in the morning.

ballroomblitz · 17/01/2012 23:59

I meant to watch that mrsmaccas but forgot it was on. I'm sure it will be repeated at some stage though.

One I will be avoiding is One Born Every Minute. Found even Call The Midwife a bit hard to watch the other night. I'm a total wuss :)

WaitingForLittleR · 18/01/2012 00:01

Ballroomblitz - the only thing I've noticed is that I've got no interest at all in chocolate at the moment. It tastes ok if I do eat some, but I have no desire to. Which is a right pity as everyone bought me fab chocs for Christmas which I don't want to eat - Thorntons, Leonidas or Lindt anyone?!

mrsmaccas · 18/01/2012 00:11

WaitingForLittleR - likewise. I think I might want so then have a nibble and decide I don't. Realised something was up over Xmas when people had bought me a variety of chocs (knowing I normally love them) and I wasn't fussed. There's some predictor of baby's sex from whether you like sweet or savoury. Can't exactly remember but think sweet is girl, savoury is boy (which sort of figures really considering girls tend to like choc more than boys). But don't hold me to it :)

ballroomblitz · 18/01/2012 00:23

Funny I craved meat something shocking with ds - even lamb which I previously hated. Was told to get off my iron tablets by the mw when I wasn't taking any. I suppose that would be savoury then.

WinterMymble · 18/01/2012 06:34

Hi everyone. So exciting to her how everyone is. Still not really sleeping! batcave hols and maccas i am there with you on the sleep thing, a real drag.

About ten days ago doctor thought might be ectopic, so had various scans and things. Lots of blood tests etc later, i had the second scan today, and all seems to be fine. Allegedly a heartbeat though frankly my DH and i could only see a smudge!

Anybody else in Edinburgh? If so, i found a handy book: www.amazon.co.uk/Edinburgh-for-Under-5s/dp/0955516110/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

WinterMymble · 18/01/2012 06:37

ballroom so true - i only caught the last few seconds of Call the Midwife and so had no idea of who the characters were or what was happening, but still got randomly choked up! (before getting rapidly distracted by Benedict Cumberbatch :)

missuswife · 18/01/2012 07:25

Is cramping and bright red blood always a miscarriage? I'm trying to stay realistic but if anyone had this with a positive outcome would like to hear. I'll know for sure in a couple hours.
