Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Hi Threefortea - yes first pg and still in shock!!!!
Rang my mum today and told my best mate as she's been the one who has had worrying at her for the past two weeks as to why I felt the way I did!! Told my parents as with me not being able to get pg, I needed someone to listen to me panic!!!!!

Whatevertheweather · 15/01/2012 17:43

Congratulations and welcome to the new joiners Smile

Loup I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with dp. Whereabouts in Hampshire are you? I live between Ports and Soton.

Spuddy hope everything goes well tomorrow. I'm pleases dh is redeeming himself slightly.

Still not many symptoms here. Scan on 25th cannot come soon enough!! Iph is this the longest 2ww ever?!

Macaroons · 15/01/2012 19:22

Welcome all new joiners! It's so cold today!!! Take care all and don't catch a cold!

whatevertheweather I'm not having much symptoms apart from occasional gentle stomach pain too. I must not be paranoid for lack of MS!

threefortea we actually haven't told anyone yet! Want to wait for another few weeks till we see heartbeat and first!

Littlecherublegs · 15/01/2012 19:45

We havent told anyone yet either - still very early days (5 weeks today) and have had a previous MC at just over 6 weeks so dont want to start spreading the good news yet (difficult not to though!!)

No real symptoms at the mo - slightly sore boobs and nipples but thats about it.

I have been having 'period' pains today though so have been a bit worried about that. They are just very similar to what normal period pains for me are like so anxious that I may bleed soon and it could all end again.
Trying to stay positive though, after all there is nothing I can do about it. Hope its just baby growing pains!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 15/01/2012 20:32

Hi all,
Hope you've all had a good weekend and those having problems with their 'D' P's are managing to get them sorted.
All here still ok, just totally knackered. I don't remember being this worn out first time but I guess then I wasn't running around after a 2year old DD whose current favourite phrase is "no, I not..." Hmm

Got my booking appt on Friday so trying to have a proper discussion with DH before then in whether or not we go for a private scan and nuchal fold test. NHS here only provide standard dating scan and then the blood test. Decisions. And not told anyone here apart from best friend who guessed. Everyone else will find out after the scan. That was what we did last time and will feel happier once the first trimester is out the way (fingers crossed.)

missuswife · 15/01/2012 22:37

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and is getting on alright. I spotted a tiny bit today again but it was only visible on toilet tissue and it was brown so I am still hopeful. My boobs are still sore as heck and humungous. I slept til noon and then went out with my DH for a coffee, by the time we got back it was 5:00 and I was already knackered. I had no idea how tired it makes you!

The only other weird symptom I have at the moment is that my right jaw really hurts. I have that thing where I can pop my jaw out, and now when I open my mouth it really hurts. I've heard this can be a pregnancy symptom, have any of you noticed it?

Jakeyesqwellthisisnew · 16/01/2012 00:22

Hopefully you all had a good weekend,
Hello and Congratulations to new people who have joined us.

Spuddy Thank. I will tell DC all my stories about my dad.
I suppose the reality of starting a family, makes you think about your own or rather lack off. And my bf family are wonderful and I love them but they still aren't mine.

Boobs are hurting more and am eating like a horse but become really tired - but still no sickness (long may it continue)

We haven't told anyone yet. I work in a very very male dominated work and will want to keep it underwraps for as long as possible (but then I do work in the public sector so it should be fine)
I'm actually dreading telling bf parents. Because while they will be supportive and all, I know that they will ask if we are doing right thing and worry unneccasserily. Kind of want to stay in our little bubble for longer.

missuswife My jaw has been aching too (and hurting when I chew) but I just thought it was my jaw acting up again (I broke my jaw a few years ago and it has never been the same since) hmm. but it can be a sympton? yay

Littlecherublegs hope all is well, and all is just the normal bizarrenes of pregnancy .

ballroomblitz · 16/01/2012 02:18

Wow a september thread already :)

Another one here. Just worked out will be due 20th. Only found out last night. Strangely had done the preg test earlier in the day and it said negative. I didn't throw it out for some reason and when I went to bin it last night I saw the two lines and near died. Good thing I already had a few wines down my neck to help with the shock. My last drink for a good while now.

This will be dc2 and I'm bricking it. Had bad pre-eclampsia the first time and ds was born prem and very tiny after having IUGR as a result. Was meant to have a consultant meeting before I even thought of getting pg again, but hey these things happen. Not looking forward to telling ex-p, ds's dad either.

lurkingmurking · 16/01/2012 10:13

Happy Monday ladies! Welcome all the new joiners.

missuswife it sounds like your spotting has cleared up - fingers crossed!

ballroom congratulations - is there a high likelihood of pre-eclampsia returning? Sounds very scary but glad DS is ok.

ethelred I am knackered too. I did get a lie in on Saturday but I also had DS (2) jumping on me asking for a story so that didn't help.

I just told one of my colleagues who jumped up and down with me Grin - everyone at work has been expecting me to announce I'm pregnant since I came back last January. I thought I should tell someone just in case I feel rough and faint or something random. I won't tell anyone else until I've had the scan though. My boss is in the States too so that should be an interesting conversation!!

rightontime · 16/01/2012 11:07

Morning everyone. Just been catching up on the last few pages. Sorry to here of those of you having DPproblems. I think they have no comprehension of what it is like to be pregnant and so are insensitive so and so's.

Iph and others having scares I do hope all works out for you. Iph were you on a previous thread with me? I was on March 2009 and November 2011, I seem to remember you user name. I would have been babyinbelly on the march 09 thread.

Congratulations to the new ladies

After fully expecting to be being sick all day and not being able to keep water down my MS actually seems quite mild this time. FC. I am not at work at the moment so perhaps being able to sleep all day helps with that.

lurkingmurking · 16/01/2012 12:51

Private scan booked for 12th Feb - eeeeekkkkkkkk

Iph · 16/01/2012 13:18

whatever THE longest. Ever. And then some! Still at least now we can say 'it's next week', which makes it marginally more bearable.

I have bizarrely been feeling really upbeat and positive . For now, the bleeding and even BDOD (which had been continuous of over a week) has stopped. Muchos sore boobage, enorma-nipples and some touches of nausea are also all reassuring.

Sorry to hear you've had a scare too missus but it great that you've still got symptoms and there are SO many stories of women spotting or even bleeding quite heavily and going onto have a heathy pregnancy.

loopy and anyone else struggling with relationship stuff, I really feel for you. You think it should be the happiest, bringing-you-closer time but more often than not the reality is that you've got hormones a go-go and you're both probably scared in these early days and having to do a lot of mental adjustments. I know I have been more snappy than usual and Dh is throwing his energies into lots of things that don't involve having to think about pregnancy.

Good luck today spuddy hope you get some answers and reassurance.

rightontime not me I'm afraid. Haven't had a baby since 2004 and didn't join the May 2012 thread for the last pregnancy. Other than a couple of random posts, this is my first ever thread on MN.

EastBeast · 16/01/2012 13:54

Congratulations to all the new ladies, such a big group now!

I just wondered how people are coping with both MS and work? I'm not actually being sick (yet) but I feel nauseous almost ALL the time which is just so draining. Just thinking about food or smelling it makes me dry retch (sorry!) I'm trying ginger nuts, ginger cordial and smelling lemons, and they give slight relief but I'm just feeling miserable and can't concentrate on work at all. I can't imagine another 6-8 weeks of this!

Also, any practical advice for travelling? My train journey has become a hazard as the train company kindly removed all of the toilets from their trains, so I'm clutching a plastic bag and praying most of the way! The rocking movement seems to make it worse. Grim.

I know I ought to be grateful that I have symptoms, but I had no idea it made you feel this bad... Sympathy to everyone else in the same boat.

Rusulka · 16/01/2012 14:13

Hey ladies.

My spotting stopped yesterday, which was a huge relief, considering the shitty folks at the EPU never bothered to get back to me and left me dangling all weekend, but it started again this morning.
I have tried ringing 3 times now and it just rang and rang. Stayed on for 3 minutes each time, am really angry now.
I know it's quite normal for this to happen but it's my first bloody time, I wasn't expecting it, and frankly if this is how maternity services at the local hospital are going to treat me, then they can fuck off if they think I'm going to come in and give birth there!!!

I just don't know what to do with myself.

Spuddy glad your DP is being better behaved now.
East your commute sounds like a nightmare!

longbay · 16/01/2012 16:23

Hi all I'm due around sept 10th with DC2. I am feeling extremely nauseous most of the day, v tired and thoroughly miserable! I should be grateful that I have managed to conceive again as it took quite a while. However, these feelings are awful. I hope it gets better soon as I cannot stand feeling like this:(

lurkingmurking · 16/01/2012 16:49

Rusukla that is shite. The other option is a private scan? They're around £100.

EastBeast mine hasn't quite kicked in yet but last time I found flat lemonade and then lemon and ginger tea and also breadsticks helped a lot. For the commute I used to sit near a window and if I felt awful I would just close my eyes and breathe really deeply and I never actually vommed.

I'm going out with my Mum and Dad tonight - will TRY not to tell them as they were a nightmare last time and told so many people before I had my scan (oh and put it on Facebook the morning of the scan before we'd even told our bosses) - Mum will be pissed off that I didn't tell her before the scan but I'm just going to say 'well you have form for not keeping quiet so there'

Littlecherublegs · 16/01/2012 18:06

Eastbeast how long gone are you? Im only 5 weeks and my MS hasnt started yet (Im expecting it to soon!) but a friend swore by ginger biscuits to heelp her through it si might be worth a try?!

longbay sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. Just try to take it easy and rest. Easier said than done I know! Get DP to provide lots of tlc and cups of tea! Smile

Has anyone else been having period type pains at all? (or did they have at 5 weeks?) Just really worried, so scared Im going to start bleeding and have another MC Sad

ThreeForTea · 16/01/2012 18:27

Congratulations her30 i'm sure it will all come flooding back! Also congrats to ballroomblitz hi to everyone else!

Sympathies eastbeast with travelling and ms. Working is so crap when your're feeling bad, especially when you don't want to say why :( I was feeling ill.all.day today am just lucky I only work in the afternoon Monday's. Tomorrow have 7:45 start and my job is half an hour away plus 20 min detour to childminders, groo :( I know of you suffer really badly with ms though you can get signed off or a risk assessment allowing you to do a late start or something if that is feasible for what you do.

iph and whatever hope this week goes fast for you!

Congrats longbay hope you get a chance to enjoy it soon.

missuswife · 16/01/2012 18:32

Littlecherublegs I had cramps at around 4-5 weeks. They felt different than period cramps, not as low down, but definitely in my uterus. Not super painful, just interesting.

Boobs seem less sore now but yesterday and today I have been totally exhausted. And yesterday I got up at noon! Have dr appointment tomorrow afternoon so will see what they say. Also I ran out of thyroxine and just had new bloods taken today, maybe if the gp gives me a new dosage that will help.

Dorita75 · 16/01/2012 20:05

I suppose I'm lucky not to be feeling the level of ms some people are. I start feeling a bit sick around 10:30am and it lasts till about 5pm, the only thing that makes me feel better is eating, mainly savoury things but today I took a slice of jamaican ginger cake to work and that was lovely! I have bought ginger biscuits but keep eating them when I don't 'need' them just because they're there.
Boobs only hurt when I lie on them, absolutely no other symtoms (other than nipples seem to have white spots all around them!)
Is anyone else like that, hardly any symptoms? I'm 7+1 today.

Whatevertheweather · 16/01/2012 20:28

Hardly any symptoms for me either Dorita I'm 6+5. A few waves of nausea but not much else.

Thanks threefortea Smile

Sympathies on the commute Eastbeast with dd1 I had a 1.5hr drive to work. More than once I had to throw up in a plastic bag in bumper to bumper traffic. Nice!

EastBeast · 16/01/2012 20:39

Thanks for the MS ideas lurking, three and dorita, I'll try all of those. And thanks too for the sympathy rusulka and whatever. Really hope I don't have to repeat that plastic bag trick!

little, I'm 7+1 and I've been feeling ropey for about the last week. Though initially it was just particular foods that nearly bounced (prawns appear to be off the menu), whereas now I feel rubbish as a rule. Ho hum, it's a good thing babies are cute!

ballroomblitz · 16/01/2012 20:40

lurking the chances are meant to decrease with every child but since it's a different partner this time I'm not sure what the likelihood of it returning again. At least I know they will keep a very close eye on me this time.

Thanks ThreeFor

Feeling for all the ladies with ms. I didn't have one jot with ds. Felt a bit queasy this morning but it could have been the pain I'm in with my trapped nerve in my shoulder.

Littlecherub I've been having some pains but I remember getting them last time. Also had implantation bleeding for the first time (I've been pg twice before). It's what threw me off the scent as I thought it was a period.

TinkerMaloo · 17/01/2012 10:03

Morning all :) and welcome along to the new joiners!

i want sore boobs!!! i only feel a bit queasy and im starting to think that its not really happening?.. sore boobs or an actual vomit or something would make me feel so much better!

i have been pregnant twice before and both times instantly had really sore boobs so this just doesnt feel right.. could it be because i only just finished breastfeeding DD last week?

Littlecherublegs · 17/01/2012 10:18

Tinker you really dont want sore boobs!! They hurt!!!! My nipples have just gone stupidly large and tender - its not amusing when DH threatens to tweak them!!
I havent had any of the sickness (yet) and its really frustrating not knowing whats going on inside!! Am sure everything is ok, just cant wait for the 12 week scan for proof!!

Hope everyone els is ok and that commutes to work (esp. east) and DP's (esp. spuddy) are playing nicely!!
