Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

PoppyS34 · 05/01/2012 13:27

Wow, that's a big list :o thanks for doing it NeedlesCuties :)

glittershoes · 05/01/2012 13:31

Thanks Needles! That is great to hear. Will try and relax a bit more, maybe I need a lovely treat of some sort as a pick me up....!

glittershoes · 05/01/2012 13:33

Sorry - didn't see your post Poppy! I really can't wait for the scan, I think, as I am feeling pretty usual, it will just make it all the more real when I see it on screen! It will be great to see that there is actually a little baby inside me!

PoppyS34 · 05/01/2012 13:52

that's exactly how I felt Glitter, which is why I caved in and paid for the private scan, best thing I did. Feels so much more real now and I keep looking at my pics now :o hope the time flies between now and Sunday for you. x

mrsmamma · 05/01/2012 13:55

Hi all! I didn't get to see one born every minute but will watch tonight on catch up! My belly feels huge today!!!!

Anxiously awaiting my scan date can't wait to get in from work every day to see if a letter has appeared on my mat! Dh spent 20 mins patting my stomach this morn think it's just starting to hit him!

I feel sooooo tired today wNt to curl up in a ball n go bed!

I have baby centre app I love it and I regularly poke my boobs too Grin

JParkson · 05/01/2012 14:26

Hi all,

feeling a lot less queasy today (thank goodness!) I think I was struggling with the winter D&V bug, by the looks of things.

Am a little bit down about it though, as I was quietly hoping I might be having twins. DH was having panic attacks all week worrying 'what if...' (4 kids in a 2 bed house anyone?!).

I know it could possibly happen still as I've yet to have my 12 week scan (5 and 6 week scans saw a healthy foetal sac in the uterus, not much more than that) and I'd love to have twins (runs in the family, but hasn't hit my generation yet), but reality is, having lost a tube, unless I have fraternal twins, it's very unlikely. Ah well, what's meant to be is meant to be.

Welcome back lovemarmite - love the name too!

So, this One Born Every Minute... It was on when I was pg with DD, but I never watched it then either. Seriously, what is the fascination?! Watching other people's birth scenarios?? I just don't get it. (I don't get 'reality tv' in general, so that doesn't help! Confused Hmm )

Lovemarmite · 05/01/2012 14:50

Thanks Needlescuties for the list - feels great to be included.

Oh no, can't watch Born every minute yet... not sure either on the fascination of it either. Hmm.
DH thinks my sickness and grumpiness, oh yes, and the tears that come out because I just feel like it, are not worth it... I guess it'll prepare us for a little one that will take over the symptoms after me! Sorry, only quoting what my mother said I was like. Actually hoping for a happy little bundle of joy!

Can't wait for the 12 week mark when apparently the tiredness stops, but I think 14-16 until the sickies are over.

The MW called yesterday when I was out. We think it was her as she used my proper name and wouldn't speak to DH. Hoping that I'll have an appointment soon and they'll be friendly! I am a bit of a woos (how do you spell that?!) as although I'm semi enjoying the pregnancy (apart from the symptoms), I know can cry at the slightest emotion.

Belly is feeling larger - can't breathe it in anymore but my breasts have stopped hurting and they're not much bigger (big disappointment!). I've had to read up on how to look good at this stage as the tiredness is making me look very sullen... a pampering session might be on the cards for the weekend. Would love any tips that make you feel like you're looking good!

glittershoes · 05/01/2012 15:12

If you find them LoveMarmite then let me know! I am currently very drawn (I'm pale at the best of times) and my hair which once could go nearly a week without washing is now looking rather lank even when squeeky clean. And don't talk to me about the skin, I don't think I have been this spotty since I was a teenager.

My boobs feel bigger and people have commented that they are bigger (nice I know!), I was a 28GG to start with so hope they are having a spurt (maybe bad choice of word....) now and then will stop! I am currently sporting the very sexy double boob effect...

Reading that all back, I obviously do have symptoms, they just seem a lot less 'big' than the ms or tiredness!

Lovemarmite · 05/01/2012 15:21

Oh yes the spots - I have found a good cleanser - REN Mayblossom T control cleanser. I've suffered with spots since 14 and this cleanser is the only thing that has helped, it's a little pricey but it lasts for a few months at least.

I read that buying something like a new pair of slippers makes you feel special... other than that, I am looking for get me look better cure!

Wow, to have bigger breasts, I was hoping my 32AA might make it to an A... ooo I guess the grass is always greener! x

halfdoneharris · 05/01/2012 15:23

Hi everyone,
I am new to MN and after lurking a little while i'm finally ready to join the August thread!
Here are my stats: halfdoneharris (28) DC1 5/08/12

I have already had a private scan at 8+4 as I was just too impatient and managed to talk DH into forking out the £90 (hee hee). Happy to report that Gilbert Grape is well and hopefully long may that continue!

My scan is booked for 23rd Jan but because I was so slow registering with my local GP (I moved 18 months ago) my booking in appt isn't until 26th Jan -but hopefully that won't be a problem though.

Have horrid nausea symptoms like I am on a rough sea most of the day but now I am back at work (in an office job) it is easier to snack and not move about too much. I even vommed on my front door step this morning - classy!

Looking forward to hearing everyone's upcoming scan news xx

ballinderrymum · 05/01/2012 17:32

halfdone i love the name of your little one :)

bit of a TMI question but has anyone had any brown discharge after sex? any time i have a little bit there it is.

on another note, tried ringing the antenatal appointment section in the hospital and the lady finished 15 mins before i called and no one else could tell me if they had received my referral letter. i'm phoning tomorrow.

my boobs have not been sore for the past 2 days and i didn't feel as queasy today - really want my scan though just to see how far i actually am (and to see my little nugget too :) )

Gnomi · 05/01/2012 17:59

Bleuch, I'm really queasy today and have people coming round tonight. I just can't do a full day at work, it's killing me! And the kids aren't even back yet!

Lovemarmite I've had cravings for marmite, which I usually hate, I totally agree with the salty/carby things.

JParkson Thanks for the info! So annoying about the chemist though. When you see your Midwife and get the form filled in, get her to back date it to today and then you can get a refund.

10 weeks today Smile - received a notification to say that my embryo has now become a foetus. It's amazing how quickly they grow - last week Uno was only just growing arms and legs - now he/she has wrists and hands!

aflycup · 05/01/2012 18:28

Hi all, I'm a bit nervous about joining this thread but thought it was time to give it a go. I'm 24 , dc1 and edd of 30/07/12 but personally believe it'll be def Aug date after I've had 12 week scan on 16th Jan. Had bad all-day sickness for last couple of weeks but yesterday it turned into vomiting ms, same again today so guess this'll be a regular thing for next few weeks :( my main worry is throwing up in inappropriate places (or whilst driving??) Also had bad tiredness, headaches, sore boobs and heightened smell ; fabric conditioner particularly makes my stomach turn! It's been really good to hear of other people at same stages with similar symptoms, makes it just a tad easier to bear, so thanks all for sharing.

Purplelooby · 05/01/2012 18:31

Excited - booked a scan for 14th Jan! Very excited but I will only be 7+3 - do you think this is too early?

halfdoneharris · 05/01/2012 19:06

Hi purplelooby - could you put it back a week? I think you will definitely get to see the heartbeat once you reach 8 weeks and that is the really reassuring bit. Also in your 8th week there is a better chance that they can ultrasound your stomach rather than having to give an internal scan. Before 8 weeks you may only see the yolk...

glittershoes · 05/01/2012 19:25

Hi purplelooby, I am having a scan on Sunday when I will be 8+3 so will let you know how it goes and what I see. I know that the place does them from 6 weeks. If you like I will ask them if they recommend them at 7w3d and report back!

Jods1 · 05/01/2012 19:44

noticed that needlescuties has posted everyones EDD, I am 6+1 today and am due 30/08/2012. Does anyone know if there is an abbreviation list, one or two I can work out but totally lost on others?!

PictureThis · 05/01/2012 19:57

Had a sneaky scan at work last night. I'm 6 weeks today so still too early to see a HB but it's inutero, yolk sac seen and the endometrium is nice and thick and I was told that it has come from the right ovary as there is a nice big corpus luteum there. Very interesting and reassuring and even got a little pic to show DH. Should be able to see more in a couple of weeks.

blackcatsdancing · 05/01/2012 20:04

purplelooby i had a private scan at 7+2, saw baby, its heartbeart (heard it too) , yolk sac, my ovaries and eggs! she did it through abdomen but would have tried via vagina if that hadn't worked.

blackcatsdancing · 05/01/2012 20:05

also fetal medicine centre do early scans from 7 weeks and they are the experts!

mrsmamma · 05/01/2012 20:11

Oh I love one born every minute it's highly amusing!

I never think I have symptoms until I list them! 11 weeks tomorrow and STILL waiting for scan date

PoppyS34 · 05/01/2012 20:32

purplelooby I had an early scan at EPU at 6wks (internal) and saw what looked like a diamond ring :o with a 2mm baby (if you can call it that, at that stage!!), but saw the heartbeat. Then have just had another one at 9wks 2days (through the tummy) and can really see everything forming, so i'm sure you'll see something.

Gglitter i'm excited for your scan on sun :) can't wait to hear how it goes.

picturethis - mine came from the same side too, and the corpus luteum was apparently the cause of my stabbing pain in the right hand side Blush never even knew what one was before..

i watched OBEM last night, but it made me cringe a bit.. partner refused flately to watch it, which i can understand really.

blackcatsdancing · 05/01/2012 20:51

poppys34 and picturethis, mine came from right ovary also!

not sure i'll be watching OBEM as had my first as a sprightly 24 year old, a planned home birth which was brilliant, now i'm set on elective c-section due to my age.

Dorita75 · 05/01/2012 21:29

Hi Jods1, I still don't know all the abreviations, there's a handy list if you put 'acronyms' into the search thing at the top, think also a link to it at the very top of this thread...
One Born Every Minute - love it! Watched last 2 series tho admit I had slighly diff feelings last night! Excited I think. My boyf also refuses to watch PoppyS but can see tv from other room when he's on computer (wall knocked thru) and I think he's paying a bit of attention this series tho not brave enough to sit in front of telly!
Still waiting for symptoms other than one boob a bit sensitive if I poke it! Think I felt a bit sick today but may have been the bus journey home...I usually cycle to and from work but the wind's been wild. Anyone else cycling? I've read lots and you can carry on as long as you're comfortable.
