Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Gnomi I could volunteer to do a list.... I am on MN far too often, so at least then I'd be doing something useful.

If anyone else wants to do it then please let me know, otherwise I'll start it later today :)

PoppyS34 · 03/01/2012 09:50

Why on earth does the midwife need to know when you got married?? :) Confused is there a reason? Got my MW appt next week.. eek.

Gnomi I'm 9weeks today (or 9+2) not quite sure which one, so looking forward to a bit less nausea and a bit more energy.

NeedlesCuties, a list sounds great. Do you need people to post their particulars again to make it easier (so you don't have to trawl through 600 messages? :))

Hope the first day back at work (if that applies) is a good one and any symptoms don't get in the way too much.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I am shattered already - Roll on 5pm.

NeedlesCuties · 03/01/2012 10:05

Yes, please!

Do a post with your screen name, age, if this is DC 1, 2, etc and due date.

I will collate them and put them in order.

Here is mine as an eg.

I'm....

Glittershoes (27) DC1 due 17/8/12

Thanks Needles!

Hating being back at work today! I am already tired and cranky! Still, I have been relaxing so much over the last few days that I have not felt tired at all and was getting worried that one of my only symptoms was disapeering so it is good to know that it was just because I was being a lazy bum!

I am so anxious for Sunday when we have our private scan, I know that things can, and sometimes do, go wrong after 8 weeks but have heard that if things look good at that point then the risks decrease. I am counting down the days and doing that annoying thing where I work out that it is in five days time and then count back five days to see how long that feels if that makes sense.... Blush

My midwife appointment isn't until the 23rd! I will be just shy of 11 weeks then but apparently that is standard for here and they guarantee to do your scan by the time you are 12w6d.

i was given the forms to complete at the prebooking and told to return them filled at the booking appointment. I completed those in bold (as they were essential) and ignored most of the rest that seemed irrelevant. Yes there was a question about being related by blood to the father. I don't see why they need to know some of the things on there and have no desire to give away more than seems necessary for health of me and baby. Hospitals have slightly different forms. Surprised they wanted me to work out my BMI myself, what if i got it wrong? Is the MW going to check its correct? I know they are understaffed but starting to see just how badly. Also given something to pee into and a syringe with some confusing instructions. I'm sure i'll get there with it but seems a lot more faffing than i remember from earlier pregnancy - ok was 20 years ago.

Also given my blood work labels for downs syndrome and other tests and also told to complete those!

blackcatsdancing · 03/01/2012 10:44

p.s i know i haven't got the BMI wrong as used online calculator but surely some people will or will lie.

Stinkyminkymoo · 03/01/2012 10:45

Sorry got the calculator wrong! Am due on the 4th August! Eek!!

Kempstongirl · 03/01/2012 10:56

Hi Dorita75 and all here,
How I'm feeling? Scared and excited at the same time, like probably most of you here. Left out by the GP as well- thank God for the internet... It doesn't feel too real for me either, as the only symptoms I've got are very tender breasts, those growing pains in my tummy and nausea when I'm hungry. I'm getting tired much more quickly (I got exhausted after about 20min walk with clients to the cinema the other day, and normally would do it without any problems). No cravings yet, no morning sickness.
I had to tell at work because of the client group I work with (adults with learning disability, some may present challenging behaviours, but luckily none of them is on wheelchair so no moving and handling) and also because of the shift pattern- I was down to do waking night shifts and wasn't feeling up the challenge- I'm lone-working then with nobody around, if anything happens my boss would need about 30min at least to get there and we can't leave the clients on their own. Luckily I managed to swap shifts- I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Making the list sounds like a good idea so here are my stats:

Sorry I'm new to this posting thing, can i pressume dc is darling child?!!

Angel786 · 03/01/2012 11:36

Gnomi and blackcats glad it's not just me that was asked if I am blood related to DH Blush although why they need to know when you got married who knows!?

Glitter not long til the scan now :-) Am back at work too and it sucks. I already miss my naps and the morning sickness is back. I think lack of sleep makes the nausea worse!?

Needles that's v kind of you!

Angel786 (32) DC2 due 2/8/12 (but may be out 2 weeks earlier with a c-sec!)

glittershoes · 03/01/2012 12:20

Lack of sleep definitely makes the queasiness reappear! Or maybe my body is just trying with all its might to trick me into going home!

Having a bit of a crisis today, one of my best friends has just got engaged and has announced today that she is thinking of an August 2012 wedding. We are really close, she was a bridesmaid at my wedding and I count her as one of my closest friends so there will definitely be an invite and I am quietly hoping for bridesmaid duties!

She has not booked anything yet, she has simply said that she is planning for this August, do I tell her now so that she can avoid it or is that a bit self indulgent and you-will-have-to-move-your-wedding-as-I-will-be-unable-to-attend?

geekette · 03/01/2012 12:20

Geekette (32) DC1, due 25/08/2012

Off to see the GP today as the consistency and volume of my brown discharges coupled with the pains I have at night are a bit of a worry. The good thing is I am too tired to be the one doing the worrying.

I have an awful smell of camphor up my nose. I don't have any in the house. And I can't sleep at night because of gas. It just won't come out in sleeping position and just builds up till it hurts and wakes me up :(
Sorry about tmi.

But no other signs of pregnancy yet so still counting myself lucky. I have managed to put on 1.5kg :) I can still taste christmas dinner :)

Angel786 · 03/01/2012 13:03

Good luck Geekette hope all is ok xxx

glitter maybe if you just say you are expecting so it will be harder to take on all of teh full duties you would love to if teh wedding is in aug but you woudl still attend if not in labour & mobile so it doesn't sound like she has to move it? I'm sure as a best friend she will want you there - and coudl maybe bring it forward rather than delay it?

NeedlesCuties · 03/01/2012 13:22

Hi, I now have 15 in my list :) I really am a bit like Monica from Friends in that I love being the planner and organising things! Won't put it onto the thread just yet, will leave it a bit longer for others to give me their details.

The official August 2012 thread in the ante-natal section has a long list too, but some of the ladies on their aren't on this thread and vice versa so I can't just copy and paste.

JParkson · 03/01/2012 13:30

Hi ladies, may I join you?

I'm 8+6 (I think) so dd is 09/08.

It's been an emotional festive season on more than one level, as I lost twins in June, one of which was ectopic. Add a stomach bug, and never-ending nausea to the mix, and I was torn between sobbing and hurling on Christmas Day!

mrsmamma · 03/01/2012 13:48

Mrsmamma 27 dc1 due 27th July ( know I shud be on July thread but didn't wNt to be last)

JParkson · 03/01/2012 14:12

Ah, just seen the list idea - we did the same on the thread I was on for DD 2 yrs ago :)

JParkson (28), DC3, 09/08/12

NeedlesCuties · 03/01/2012 14:38

JParkson - when was your DD born? I was on the March ante-natal thread in 2010, DS came a bit early in February 2010 :)

Gnomi · 03/01/2012 14:44

Sorry PoppySeed and Angel, I meant that when you go to register your intent to get married with the local council (not the midwife), they go through loads of things to make sure you're not cousins/related/inbred! That was nothing to do with the midwife, but then the midwife asks at the booking-in appointment. I think I've confused myself now Smile

NeedlesCutie Thank you so much! You're wonderful!

Gnomi (29), DC1, 1st August

Glittershoes, I think I would tell her. My cousin is getting married in August and I've pretty much resigned myself to not going to that wedding, but we're not that close. If it was my best friend, I'd definitely say something, just so she's a bit more informed.

PoppyS34 · 03/01/2012 15:02

oh, right! Blush sorry Gnomi - I blame my hormones for getting confused :o

Glittershoes, I'd mention it as well. If it were me, I'd want to know (and would be over the moon for you) and would deffo try and work around it. Good luck!

Geekette - good luck for the drs, fingers crossed it's all ok. x

congrats JParkson!

I am absolutely shattered, could crawl under my desk and fall asleep right now, and I actually feel like I could fall asleep sitting up. The next two hours are going to be tough... i need a sofa and an afternoon film. :o

JParkson · 03/01/2012 15:03

Hi Needles, I was on/she was born September 2010 :)

JParkson · 03/01/2012 15:07

and thanks Poppy.
