Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Sorry mrdarcych I feel your pain though as I too mc last night. Have spent all day in hospital having it confirmed, pretty miserable end to the year. Am back to the TTC forums now, hopefully there is hope after mc! x

blueblizz · 31/12/2011 19:39

Please can I join the gang? Still bit dazed. I also found out Christmas morning that I'm pregnant.(Christmas day is also DH birthday so guess what I put in his stocking.) I waited as I had a negative test earlier in the week but a close friend suggested that it was too early. She was right. The line wasn't that strong but I am day 43 of cycle, sore boobs, bloat etc sooo pretty sure!! I have a 3yr old already but 40 now and a tad more nervous this time.
I cried when I read mrdarcych post. I honestly send you the bravest hug I possibly can. Take excellent care of yourself. xx

blueblizz · 31/12/2011 19:41

Eeek. Stupidly re-read my post after posted it. I am 40 now not my child i hasten to add!!! (blame the hormones.)

Angel786 · 01/01/2012 10:16

Appy 2012 everyone!

Question: how do you refer to the baby? He/she/it/ other name?

OP posts:
blackcatsdancing · 01/01/2012 10:31

we call it 'the baby'

Westcountrywife · 01/01/2012 11:01

Bean for us...

...what joy a NYE party completely sober. Had to spend a good hour dealing with 13 year old niece and two friends who had managed to slurp up more alcohol then they were supposed to. They'd been allowed a small glass of alcopop and a bucks fizz at 12, but had had sneaky refills encouraged by nephew and grandma! Angry

All three are still sleeping it off and guess who is being left with ensuring they are ok/sorted/presentable? The only one without a hangover... (but who is tired enough and feeling sick enough that I might as well be).

mrsmamma · 01/01/2012 12:06

Happy new year all! We are having babies THIS YEAR!

We refer to the baby as Phoebe lol! The reason being since the day I watched my 1st episode of friends I've loved the name! My husband, brother and parents have talked about Phoebe for years even before TTC and even before my husband came along!

My parents have been nagging me to have Phoebe for Years, they are so excited! X

I have also told them if it's a boy it's phoebo which doesn't go down so well!

I'm convinced I'm having a girl, anyone else think they know?

mrsmamma · 01/01/2012 12:08

Also last week it was grape and this week strawberry at 12 weeks I'll call it peach x

Also best wishes to mrdarcy xx

NeedlesCuties · 01/01/2012 12:33

My prayers and best wishes are with those who have suffered losses this week :( hugs to you all.

As for what I refer to the baby as: with DS I called the bump 'he' as I guessed very early on it was a boy (I was correct!).

With this pregnancy I call it 'this baby' accompanied by a heartfelt groan as I feel sooooo sick.

Not sure what sex I think this one is, but I have a fear that it's twins as a) my dad has a twin sibling, b) I'm being really really sick. Very much looking forward to my scan in February to find out.

Gnomi · 01/01/2012 13:02

So sorry MrDarchch and Crystaltea. I hope you both have the love and support around you at this time.

We call the baby "Uno," I think because he/she is no.1.

Twins would be exciting Needles!

geekette · 01/01/2012 14:54

Hugs to MrDarcy and Crystaltea.
Hope someone is with you.

My scan is on the 14th of feb. Great date huh? Hopefully the little one sticks around that long...

I might just do the first time mom thing and call an epu next week for reassurance...

Purplelooby · 01/01/2012 16:00

Bigs hugs to MrsDarcey and Crystaltea. I am so sorry for you both - take care of yourselves, I hope you have support around you xx

geekette I am also thinking about doing the first-time-mum thing. DH is from Yorkshire so I had to work on him to agree to spend the money on it Xmas Wink but he seems to have come around. The idea makes me very nervous though.

We have been calling it Appleseed, but my SiL is also PG and DB keeps calling his Gracie because he is convinced it's a girl... Personally I have no idea - just like I had no idea I was PG until the pink line appeared. Definitely NOT an earth mother...

Angel786 · 01/01/2012 17:30

We're going with 'bryo' for now as dd was 'emmy'.... Uninspiring I know.

Re sex no idea as the pg seems q different from last time and I suspect it's a boy but dh thinks it's a girl. As long as it's healthy and happy!

Angel786 · 01/01/2012 17:31

Ps geekette I've got a check up with the dr on 14th to measure the bump, Doppler etc too.

glittershoes · 01/01/2012 19:05

Happy New Year!

We call it Peanut or Baby Peanut. Not sure why really! Not sure on whether it is a boy or a girl; I am still not really allowing myself to get that far yet (although we did pop into Mothercare for a browse today....).

DH refers to the baby as 'they' rather than he or she or it which makes me nervous! Everyone else who knows is convinced it is a girl but I have no clue. Really looking forward to next Sunday when I am having my private scan. I will be 8w 2d, just wishing on everything that it is all ok x

ballinderrymum · 01/01/2012 19:39

hi can i join? i think i am 9 weeks. i took test the week before christmas and it said i was 5+ weeks - this is normal for me as my dd for DD1 was 1 month out. i can't wait for my scan as i want confirmation from someone else that i am pregnant - although i do have alot of symptoms (tiredness, nausea, sore swollen boobs, bloated tummy - this could be to do with eating lots of tuc biscuits), another 3 weeks seems so far away! i've tried catching up with the posts but there are so many Smile
