Just did two pg tests and positive (although faint). Took 10 months ttc last time and as DD is almost one I've only had periods for a few months so this is a hugely pleasant surprise!

Anyone-else out there?

Poor you ND, sounds scary. Glad it's all calmed down. You're not doing the driving are you? Have a good journey... definitely roll on the 12 week scan!

Deafworm · 17/12/2011 09:13

Congratulations and welcome to all who have joined us.

Hope your journey goes well ND. My dd2 has a tummy bug today, dh is asleep having done a night shift last night and another tonight and I'm just praying she doesn't go again!

PoppySeed34 · 17/12/2011 13:14

Oh no NathanDetroit, hope you're ok? good luck with your travelling today, and hope you don't have any more discomfort. Need nerves of steel with this pregnancy lark. :)

Had mild period pains this morning, boobs still a bit sore, absolutely shattered even after 10 hours sleep. And more importantly - no bleeding for 24 hours!! Whoop whoop.... very pleased. Xmas Grin

..and for some reason I ate nothing but carbs yesterday, very unlike me.

mrsmamma - how did the xmas party good?

wishing you all a happy weekend x

Angel786 · 17/12/2011 18:22

Yay poppyseed! Great news.

All I'm craving ATM is junk food... Mcdonalds, chip butties... V odd!

Nausea subsided slightly but had a v sore throat and dry cough the last two days. Came across a horrible scary article online about strep a and pregnant women which duly terrified me! All ok tho.

Sooo tired. Napped for two hours this afternoon Blush

Thanks for your replies this morning. Cried about three times before 10am today but got through the day and very glad to be home now. I drove the last quarter but we've done 370 miles today!! Before we even set off my lower back, shoulders and stomach were all hurting. I should've stayed home really but it didn't feel like an option. No bleeding or anything so I hope the pain this morning was just vigourous stretching...and that it doesn't come back.

So, planning to spend tomorrow with my feet up as far as I can and try not to cry too much!

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 08:52

I was like that with dd2 angel, usually can't stand McDonald's!

Glad your symptoms are picking up and no bleeding poppy, internal scans aren't particularly gentle are they, I remember cramping for a couple of days with mine and I wasn't even pg.

glad you felt better last night ND definitely take it easy today.

I've discovered preggie pop drops, saw preggie pops in my last pregnancy but didn't fancy the idea of lollies, my drops arrived yesterday and seemed to help that initial I'm gonna throw up feeling this morning! Being entertained by dd1 and 2 doing a 'magic' show for me! Dd1 watches a show called good luck Charlie and the mum has just announced she's pregnant after showing similar symptoms to mine, she spent most of the episode looking at me sideways, not sure how long it will take for her to figure this out Xmas Hmm

warzonemummy · 18/12/2011 08:57

hurrraayyyyy...I am back in the UK. Got here yesterday morning. I went to the hospital right away and saw a wonderful lady at the EPU who did a scan and told me everything was fine - gave me a photograph to take home. Told me I was 7 weeks gone (I thought I was 6 weeks and 3 days). Saw the heartbeat and the yolk sack.

Mechavivzilla · 18/12/2011 09:13

Hello Ladies, ok if I join in?

I am 5-6 weeks pg with my first. Unsure exactly as I had REALLY irregular periods before. If I date my first day of last period I think I am something like 6 months! As with lots of you, we haven't told anyone and I am just bursting with excitement! We had literally just been refered to the fertility clinic :D Have a doctors appointment tomorrow, hopefully I will be able to get an early ish scan!

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 09:21

Erm mecha, I had very irregular periods before dd1 and had an early scan a week after I found out I was pregnant and was 26 weeks! Oddly enough since moving here 2 years ago my next door neighbour had similar though she was diagnosed with a cyst and got scanned at 25 weeks! Push for that scan if you have to Xmas Grin good luck and congratulations!

mrsmamma · 18/12/2011 18:03

Hello newbies !! My Xmas party was fine! I drank lemon n lime and people assumed it was vodka!! Said I couldn't go too mad as was painting my kitchen today ( my hubby is not me ) so got awAy with it !

Have so far cried 3 times today! 1st time when I found out some shoes I bought my niece no longer fit her! 2 , because my mum is doing prawn cocktail on xmas day n I won't be at my mums! 3 , watched a funny film started laughing and then it turned into hysterical tears! Think I'm hormonal!! Blush

Hope everyone is ok! I'm really contemplating an early scan!! Eek

glittershoes · 18/12/2011 19:08

Hello everyone!

Don't talk to me about crying, I am out of control. Two days ago DH actually asked me why I was crying while I was chopping a pepper and I had no idea.

And, TMI I am sorry, but yesterday I cried during sex. Yep, I was just so overcome with emotion that we were in love and having a baby that I couldn't help myself. Twas very bad.

I have been having griping period type pains on and off all day today but I have decided that it is fine and am feeling positive!

Just waiting for January now... it seems so far away but really, my appointment is only five weeks away (eeek!). I too am really contemplating an early scan mrsmamma, but not sure what it will actually do if that makes sense.

If I had one at 9 weeks and saw everything was fine I think I would still panic until the next one at 12 weeks!

mrsmamma · 18/12/2011 19:18

I wud just like one for peace of mind! I don't have a scan date through yet so just desperate to get one done. I regularly have period like cramps but read it's normal! I'll be petrified when I do for a scan as it's make or break really! I know things can still go wrong after that but I know I'll relax.

Desperate to get this week over cos then lots of nice things to look forward to x

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 19:35

Glitter I think you win the prize for inappropriate crying Xmas Grin I've been crying and tantrumming all da, I got so fed up at lunch time I stormed went out for a walk to get some peace!

Angel786 · 18/12/2011 20:36

Welcome mecha!

I feel much better about crying hysterically when stuck in traffic driving to my work Xmas party a few weeks ago now! Sorry glitter!

Hello all,

Glad everyone's ok, if a tad hormonal Xmas Wink. I've been ridiculously very tired and a bit tearful which is very unlike me! Also felt quite ratty tonight too which probably isn't much fun for DH! Tummy feels rather bloated and I can't seem to suck it in, so I feel I already look pregnant at five weeks! Agh! And I know this sounds so stupid, but I quite often wake up on my tummy and then panic I've somehow squashed the babies...!

Enjoy your evenings all and I do love this thread! x

mrsmamma · 18/12/2011 21:11

Oh just been looking through my app store on I phone and hVe found a feral Doppler to listen to babies heartbeat eek Grin!

mrsmamma · 18/12/2011 21:12

Fetal lol!!!

NeedlesCuties · 18/12/2011 21:23

I got a BFP an hour ago and cannot believe it!

Really, can't believe it!!!!

DS will be 2 in February and I'm due on 25th Aug (est from date of last period)

Feeling terrible though as I'd only come off the pill in Oct and we weren't really trying if you know what I mean.

So I've been eating all the wrong things and drinking as usual. Now I have my BFP I feel scared that I may have hurt the baby. Reassure me please!!!!

Vycki · 18/12/2011 21:24

Hi everyone, I've been away in Germany for work but glad to see lots of chat still happening!

Oh dear .... I am embarressed to say that I did a big boo at Heathrow T5 passport control coming back into the country. I was on my own and I'd been up since 6am and was in the passport checking hall at 10pm and it was so ridiculously busy that you couldn't even see the ends of the queues. After about 30 mins (and still at the back of the queues) I found someone who worked there and broke into tears and mumbled that I felt odd, I think I said I was pregnant but she took one look at me and I got escorted to the front of the queue - phew! I felt terrible that I did it but totally relieved, as I felt so emotional after a few prods and queue pushing. Hmmm maybe a touch of a drama queen though?!

Seeing the doctor on Friday for first appointment, am almost 7 weeks and so I hoping this will start things happening more with booking a scan etc...
Hope everyone had a good weekend x

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 21:30

Love the idea of a feral Doppler! Have a look for sprout mrs, I really like it

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 21:38

Welcome needles, I ate the wrong things and drank till I found out with dd1 at 25 weeks, she's a lively 6 year old doing brilliantly in everything she touches now! Does that help?

Deafworm · 18/12/2011 21:41

Vycki it's not often you can get special treatment, don't feel too bad

mrsmamma · 18/12/2011 21:59

Omg I'm watching one born every minute! One word... Ouch! Massively ahead of myself but cudnt resist!

I got very drunk 3 days before I found out! Try not worry Blush

Angel786 · 18/12/2011 22:05

Welcome needles I had x rays with dd1 and smoked and drank lots all before I knew. She's now one and fine. I'm sure all will be well. And... CONGRATS

Vycki... I shamedly, used the pg to get into a sample sale a day early. Worked well tho as was early days and left my blackberry at home (mind all over the place, also left my house keys at my parents' house!) explained to once bouncer and bought lots of lovely bargainous things!

Love it, Glitter! While we're on the topic of sex, had my first proper bleeding during our first attempt since probably conceiving. DH is like "Shall we just ignore it?". NO! My tummy was hurting too so was quite freaked out (again...). All seems ok now but hope that's the only time that happens. :(

Feeling a lot more cheerful today as have just been resting (sleeping) and doing house stuff today. Really not looking forward to work tomorrow, but on the bright side, my tummy has been a lot better today. Phew.
