I'm due on the 3rd! Anyone else around then? :)

hb that nursery theme sounds lovely
rooks im still getting a lot of movement, i dont really remember it becoming less, from my previous 2? for me it just tends to get more like u can see ur whole bump shape shifting as they move?

theonlyhb2 · 16/06/2011 18:21

32+2 now and the past week I have never felt so much movement, and so bloody hard! ouch! I have to alternate sides, had to sleep on right cos of my shoulder and hip, then it didnt matter, then it was the left as I swapper sides with OH so I am next to the ensuite, and now its the right as my left hip/pelvic side is in agony! I do quite often wake half on my back, yet I can't go to sleep like this

captainbarnacle · 16/06/2011 18:45

I also toss and turn - start off on my right, then left, then right, then left... am not sharing my kingsize bed so I can literally roll over from side to side :)

Eviepoo · 17/06/2011 20:05

How you ladies doing? TGIF I am done in tonight. Everything feels achey

littlebrighteyes · 17/06/2011 20:49

i have been doing a bit more walking for some excersice and fresh air -when i get home i get braxton hicks.
i also was worried about the sleeping article-as i start on my left but end up having to turn to right-cant lie on my back as it feels odd ....but have to alter sides all night long with my sausage roll--lol--as i call it pregnancy pillow-

went to libarey today with my 11 month old to get her joined up and we looked at the books-i ended up sitting on carpet -as it was less hassel bending down to her--as shes trying to take steps---anyway -once im down i find it impossible to get myself back up ...hahhaha......

hope everyone is doing well x

Eviepoo · 22/06/2011 22:19

21 more actual days in the office.... I might just make it :)

Bumwipes · 23/06/2011 12:04

Hi I'm new(ish) I was a Badmothersclub member but as they are about to pull the plug on us, I wondered if you'd have me over here?

I'm 38, live in Scotland. I'm due on the 21st August and have 3 other children, aged 8, 6 and 20mths.

Hope you don't mind me popping in :)

WinterLover · 23/06/2011 12:42

hi Bumwipes welcome :)

Im having a crap week, think im paying for not having sickness etc at the beginning, in the past 2 days ive now got water retention (cant wear my trainers now :() also back ache and im sure ive started with BH

Bumwipes · 23/06/2011 13:06

Thank you for the welcome, WinterLover :)

Sorry you are having a crap week - never had water retention but you have my sympathies with the BH. I can't get comfy at night either - constantly knackered.

Here's to the final countdown Wink

WinterLover · 23/06/2011 14:25

Its ok, I kinda knew having no sickness blah blah blah would come back and bite me in the arse!!

How have you been finding it?

theonlyhb2 · 23/06/2011 17:11

hey bumwipes, welcome!

WL that is shit :( you need some nice leg massages at a nice health spa

i have 3 weeks left at work and freaking out. what do I do if I dont work? what do I think about? I have too much to do before I go and not enough time!

antenatal class this week was......interesting. and not in the way it should have been! how have some people got pregnant or even had a baby and still be so stupid?

Bumwipes · 23/06/2011 17:39

WL I've been nauseous throughout, I'm living on Gaviscon and whatever I fancy a little bit of.. lost 1 and a half stone. Just need to not guzzle it all be on after baby arrives.

theonlyhb2 hi! I'm sure you'll find that daytime tv will soon fill the vacuum left by work Wink You must spill on your antenatal class! I'm not going this time as I'd be the only 5th time pg woman in a room of newbies and I tend to put the fear of God into people......

Eviepoo · 23/06/2011 20:43

Hello guys, - how you doing?

You know how I got my glucose results and thought they were high

I got home today to a letter from the surgery saying they had been trying to reach me, no VM on house phone and they did not try work or mobile, they didn't try that hard then. Anyway I called, I do have to make an appointments with the diabetes nurse...she is next free wait for it 20 Jul!! huh thats a month from now - whats the point surely having high glucose at 32 weeks pregnant is a little more urgent than that?

Seeing MW tomorrow so will chat to her

In other news my feet are now elephant feet ...and I thought they could not get bigger

and the sickness is as bad as ever

oh well nearly done now :)

Hi Bumwipes :o

Rootatoot · 23/06/2011 21:30

Hello august mums....

Evie That sounds a bit pants! I had a trace of sugar the other day but clear now, but I'll be gutted if I have to lay off the sugar. I mean, the only vice and joy I have at the moment is CAKE!

I've just taken my first Methyldopa tablet tonight. Bit scared of side effects but hoping low dose will mean I won't get any. Up at day assessmt unit again tomorrow to have BP checked. Got to go twice a week now.

winter sorry you're having crap week. I feel like the second trimester honeymoon period is well and truly over now & though I'm getting prepared, I'm sort of a bit scared now about the reality of how things will go for next 8 weeks.

All of you with elephant feet....massive pile of cushions, feet up and drink lots water! (Feet up as I type....over did things today. Only chance of shopping trip with mum so we had fun and to heck with my high bp. Probably not sensible but so rare I get chance to spend time on my own with mum, I'm glad I did. Got some lovely things today. Very cute stuff in Next. :)

x

Firawla · 23/06/2011 21:34

evie that does not sound right! with my hospital and other people i've read on here they have called them to come in that day or the next day, if they have high results for the gtt, because straight away they would want to give you the blood testing kit to monitor.. would definitely speak to your mw tomorrow and try to get it sorted, hopefully its a mistake and they give you an apt straight away..

Eviepoo · 24/06/2011 07:02

My GTT was 2 weeks ago now... I promise I will speak to MW about it and keep you posted

Root the shopping trip sounded fun (i'm off to see my mum tonight - she's in Newcastle) she is off to Australia on Wed to see my big sis and her lastest LO. So I am very likely to be mumnet free for a weekend - oh the trauma of it. I will catch up with the happenings on Sunday

Eviepoo · 24/06/2011 16:08

Well today at MW, I explained to her about the letter I received yesterday and about the appointment on 20 July.
She did not know anything about it
So she will follow up to find out who and why arranged it (she suspected the GP)
In addition she did telephone the assessment centre and spoke to 2 people that both confirmed that my result of 8.1 is below their GD cut off. Apparently there has been recent discussion about lowering the cut off but this has not been done yet nor communicated to the MW team.
I really can?t fault my MW ? as she was so nice and so proactive in finding out what was going on.

The she measured me, I am measuring a bit big. So based on that (and the raised glucose) just to help reassure me she is arranging a growth scan for next week. She said she will call me this afternoon with the details.

I?m just staying positive about it all

Baby?s heartbeat is fine ? Baby is kicking me and moving fine. So all in - that?s the important bits just now and what I will focus on

Cross posted to the GD thread...

theonlyhb2 · 24/06/2011 21:16

32+4 weeks, measuring 30cm (I dont know how when at 28weeks was measure 29cm and the past 2 weeks I have got much bigger!) but all OK, baby head is down but I am sure it doesn't stay there. would explain the SPD though I guess, deffo worse some days than others!

antenatal questions:
"will I need a caeserian because the Dr said I have acid coming up from my stomach"
errr thats heartburn love! and listen to what she is saying! they were talking about needing to neutralise the acid in yr stomach before an emergency c-section!

"does a catheter do in here" pointing at stomach

and there are going to be some bloody ugly babies in my area over the next few months ;)

WinterLover · 25/06/2011 07:31

Il try to catch up on what ive missed (only been gone a day or two!!)

Quick question for thoes who had the GTT done. Ive just found out that my Dad and grandma have diabeties, something which no one thought to tell me before. My mum only let my dads slip yesterday Hmm Im going to mention it to MW on Wednesday but would this mean id have to have the GTT too? Or do they only do that if you have excess glucose shown at teh 28w bloods?

theonlyhb2 · 25/06/2011 09:46

they do the glucose test as standard with yr 28Wk bloods, i thought. They do round my way as i had the test but no family history of diabetes.

Eviepoo · 25/06/2011 21:23

Nopethe GTT is not standard for my area, I only got cos glucose was high at 28w bloods.
MW confirmed a growth scan next Thursday morning

WinterLover · 26/06/2011 07:47

Thankyou all, il speak to midwife on Wednesday as its not standard GTT around here.

How is everyone today? Anyone else finding they have no patience at the min??

theonlyhb2 · 26/06/2011 10:27

The other week I was terrible, WL I made a few people upset/cry at work. I would normally feel bad but seriously, man up ha ha ha. I also completely lost my temper the other week and went to smash them/their car up. They more than deserved it but this week I am mortified I lost it so badly! I have never been so angry before. Thank god I came to my senses in time!

Today I am in a strop with OH as he has gone out. Not that we really had anything planned but thats not the point, he wasn't even gonna tell me or invite me til I asked. I don't even know why I am so bothered. Bloody hormones.

Eviepoo · 26/06/2011 22:24

Oh yes guys I too have become mightily grumpy....or so my DH says.

It's warm tonight....good plans on cooling down?

My feet are now so big my Clarks Velcro sandals have cut into my skin and I have a big raw cut....think I'm going to work in my slippers tomorrow.... Wonder what boss says :o

Started to look forward to Thursday. Scan will be nice to see. DD primary school leaving service is in the afternoon too.

Oh and diabetes nurse phoned to apologise for confusion. GP forgot I was PG when my results came in. Nurse said I am classed as having impaired glucose tolerance. So she said to cut out all added sugars ie added to drinks, full sugar coke, cakes etc. And MW will keep an eye on me and I will get retested after baby born to ensure it goes back to normal. Other than that no action required.

Eviepoo · 26/06/2011 22:25

Theonlyhb your classes sounded like a hoot.
