The only good thing about it is that DSD loves to feel my tummy and work out where the baby is laying, then demonstrate to everyone on the floor how baby is laid Grin First time she did it I had to go to the toilet, thought I was going to pee myself Grin So because you can definately feel the head she can figure it out herself.

I envy you plodding through in blissful ignorance, its only been since my scan at 28 weeks that ive been able to enjoy pregnancy as my cyst has burst and vanished.

captainbarnacle · 07/06/2011 08:44

I have no idea which way my baby is lying - there's a hard lump above my tummy button which could be the head or bottom. MW last week thought it was the head. Have a scan a week tomorrow (low placenta) so hopefully they'll be able to tell then....

This baby thing doesn't feel real in the slightest!

WinterLover · 07/06/2011 09:12

I agree captin It still doesnt feel real, its only when I get kicked and punched that im like 'oh yeah theres a baby in there' or when im trying to find clothes to fit in the morning!!

Maybe once babys rooms done and everywhere is sorted out it will feel real.. or maybe it will be september time before we're 'oh yeah i had a baby!!' Grin

theonlyhb2 · 07/06/2011 18:33

ha ha captain, I am glad I don't know if its his head or arse I am prodding. Last scan it was head up rib end and legs & arms over head. it does prefer lying across my stomach, feels crazy!

and it doesn't feel real either. i stop work on 15th July. that doesn't seem real! how am I to survive on so little money with such a massive credit card bill?! I am moody, hormonal, and OH isn't home yet (probably avoiding me so I don't shout at him for no reason)

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 19:23

Hows all you august mummies doing?

theonlyhb2 · 09/06/2011 19:30

grumpy as fuck! I feel like a teenager again :( Hows you?

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 19:37

I love your honesty...

Im not too bad, spent the past 2 days with a duvet on the sofa, just feeling worn out. Feel better now though just tired all the time.

Rootatoot · 09/06/2011 22:49

Hello august ladies.

Yes also been really really tired the last few days. Did supermarket run and some housework today and by 5pm I was beyond knackered.

DH is slightly concerning me. He seems so busy with work I've hardly seen him. I'm in bed reading my book on birth which arrived today feeling a bit on my own with things. We're having a long weekend away next weekend which is our last break. (Haven't actually had a holiday in 2 years ) Hoping even though I know he'll take the laptop, that we will actually have time together!

How are everyone else's dp/dh's doing? Esp if 1st timers like me. I was trying to chat to him about things the other day and to check he is happy to be there with me for the big event and he said 'well it's the done thing now isn't it?' which wasn't the best answer!Confused

Eviepoo · 09/06/2011 23:00

Nervous about tomorrows glucose test......

Also tired but have tomorrow off work..... Yeay

Rootatoot · 09/06/2011 23:37

Eviepoo Good luck for tomorrow. Best to get it sorted and know either way. . Do you have to be careful what you eat before you go for test btw?

Have a rest when you get back and make the most of being off work. Let us know how it goes too. xox

theonlyhb2 · 10/06/2011 06:55

my OH has been amazing right from the beginning which was handy as was so ill with HG. I dont think either of us quite believe a baby is going to arrive in a few months. We talk a lot about it but mainly the money side and discussing our dogs and how to do the best by them so no jealousy. Oh and argue he isnt going anywhere near the business end (why would you want to see it?)

good luck Evie, worst thing is having to drink lucozade. Proper rank x

captainbarnacle · 10/06/2011 07:44

I won't see my OH at all until the birth (hopefully he'll make it!)

WinterLover · 10/06/2011 07:47

30 weeks today, 30 weeks today dum de dum de dum Grin

Rootatoot · 10/06/2011 09:31

captain oh dear - ok, I'll stop whinging then!

winter snap! it feels like a bit of a milestone. Grin

WinterLover · 10/06/2011 09:39

root its ace :) realisation has hit :)

Just getting an order together for nappies etc Asda works out loads cheaper...

Finally got my Maternity leave letter from work so thats one less thing to worry about Grin

Rootatoot · 10/06/2011 09:43

I bought some last week from costco but I hear Asda are v good for baby stuff, tho our nearest one is miles away. Think they deliver here perhaps.

Going to start clearing my office ready to become baby's room today. Eep!

When do you finish work then Winter? I'm sort of done now but I'm self employed mainly. I just have scarey amount of accounting and paperwork to sort out!!

WinterLover · 10/06/2011 09:49

I finished in april, been on sick leave since then. Officially start ML on 25th July

Rootatoot · 10/06/2011 16:31

Sorry winter I remember now that you have been on sick leave. Brain like sieve. I'm on maternity leave 'officially' from this weekend, so it'll be nice to have a bit of money coming in.

Evie how did it go today?

Eviepoo · 10/06/2011 18:19

Hi guys, thanks for the thoughts.
Thankfully I wasn't sick at the surgery, I just felt horrific. I went for lunch at our church coffee shop straight after. Lovely homemade soup. As my in-laws are here they came and met me at the surgery and went with me. FIL wandered round town and MIL and I went home for nap (poor MIL has a cold) I did manage a wee sleep. Did some laundry. But still feel poop. I now feel like I've got a temperature so hoping I'm not getting a cold too. I just drove to get DH from work n he's making dinner. MIL is doing the ironing...the steam is good apparently. DD is at youth club. So I am now taking it easy. I know I am lucky with a great DH and MIL (yes she trained him well).
Tomorrow is my birthday so going to rest up today so hopefully will enjoy my lunch out without feeling poop.
We also plan to check out the NCT nearly new sale tomorrow afternoon I'm quite looking forward to that.
MIL brought goodies up from Manchester, she's been given a baby bath, a top n tail bowl, some nursery curtains and a load of tiny newborn vests and sleep suits for us.

I have a meeting with HR on Monday about mat leave. I am officially on leave from 29 July but if my tests come back as me having GD DH and I have agreed that I will request an earlier finish. Just don't know if my results will be in by the meeting but if not I will tell them about it anyway. I can't complain, my work have been great.

My new mantra is only 10 more weeks to go....we are three quarters through now.

Dragon is head down...not engaged but defo head down tbh was at 20w scan and I don't think the position has changed much. So that's a good sign. also kicking he'll out of me right now.

Captain it must be hard for you not having your OH with you

Theonlyhb grumpy is fine...it's understandable I am often grumpy too.

Just so glad I can spill to you all x

Root- I like lucozade....I know crazy me.

Right I think whilst I'm in an okay mood I'll make a to do list...may take a while lol

babybumpx · 10/06/2011 19:13

Im due on the 24th August, have a DS1 age 6 and DSS age 2! very scared and nervous as its been a very long time since DS1. Forgot what it was like being a pregnant and having these scary hormones!! Very excited though and really cant wait to meet our little baby :)

Eviepoo · 10/06/2011 19:40

Hi babybumpx I understand the ...will I remember thing my DD is 11.5!

Eviepoo · 11/06/2011 22:47

Hi ladies how are you doing?

I have shopped today!!

At the NCT nearly new sale I got
A cot mobile,
A baby carrier
A fold up booster/turn a normal chair into a highchair thingy
A pair of suede baby booties

At Babies R Us my inlaws bought us the cotbed and mattress

On boots online I ordered the pushchair (baby Jogger mini) and carseat - (the Britax 0 + 1 kind (rearward and forward facing one) with cowmooflage print cover) :) which my mum is getting for us. Best thing is they were both on offer

On amazon I ordered a glider chair - a total treat that I only got because my work gave me a voucher reward - so I decided I would treat myself.

The only things I need to get is a cosytoes and raincover for pram
and maybe a bouncer or swing and/or a baby gym
and a changing table (my back isn't great otherwise I'd have done it on the floor like with DD)
oh and all the bits and bobs like maternity pads etc for the hospital bag

I finally feel a bit calmer

and we've not had to spend much at all

In other good news the insurance company is finally sending an assessor on Wednesday to look at the storm damage, this will hopefully mean the spare room wall will be finxed soon and that means the study can move to the spare room and we can paint the newly vacated nursery and put the cot up.

A plumber is also coming to fix the shower on Wednesday

All in a positive birthday :o

WinterLover · 12/06/2011 15:35

Hi Eviepoo Wow looks like youve had a productive weekend Grin

Im not doing too bad, im 85% sure I have a UTI so will be off to the doctors tomoro about that..
