I've seen a thread for June, July and September. But none for the future leo babies!
I'm due on the 3rd! Anyone else around then? :)

The doc said I was exactly where I should be growth wise which was nice to hear. I don't think my bump looks that big really but then everyone is different and it very much depends on how you are built. I still do a bit of double take if I pass a mirror cos I think I just look a bit fat when I look down! I have only had one bump pat so far :) That was my MIL when I was about 8 weeks and no where near showing - lol!

You could always get one of those 'don't touch the bump!' slogan maternity tops? :D

WinterLover · 10/05/2011 08:18

Thing is im not big but as its now gone hard im not covering it up with a baggy top, im proud of bump so its probably the shock of going from no bump on show to having a nice bump on show Grin

Ooooo thats tempting lol

WinterLover · 10/05/2011 15:38

Seen the consultant and I've got another scan in 3 weeks to check everything is ok.

Just booked my 4D scan too... sooooooo excited now Grin

Indigodingo · 10/05/2011 16:23

Hello everyone, not to late to join the August party am I? I am due 26th August, with a boy, first child. So excited! :o
We have a first name but not a middle name, and we aren't telling anyone yet.

What I have bought so far? An organic moses basket and bedding set from Little Green Sheep - hopefully it will arrive tomorrow, I can't wait to see his cute little bed! That's all! Waiting till after the baby shower to see what I need then.

"Aim to use wraps for the first 6 months, will take a view on pram later. Hope to do without (can't explain why I hate them!)"

  • me too! Let's see how we go!

Worst symptom? Sore hips in the night, it's really effecting my sleep. Have had no sickness at all, so guess this is my turn! :(

Have had a few excited friends touch the bump, but don't mind all that much - I know they are just excited.

Nothing really annoying at the moment. And can I just say how much I am loving my gorgeous DH who is being so kind and considerate and involved - I feel so lucky!

Rootatoot · 23/05/2011 09:16

How is everyone doing now we're all entering third trimester then? Had a bit of a wobbly day or so emotionally. Think I'm over tired perhaps, can't complain physically. Feel done ok so far, touching wood. Actually drove past hospital yesterday. Never been there before for anything so at least I know where it is now!

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 09:57

Im not too bad :) GOt a doctors appointment to extend my sick note and review my perscriptions and also to get something stronger for heartburn if they'll let me

We have a name for a boy picked out already, like you we're not telling anyone. Just neet to settle on girls names now Hmm Boys name was easy as middle name is my late uncles. Girls is proving to be a problem tho as DP and I cant agree on any Grin wonder who will 'win' Wink

Rootatoot · 23/05/2011 10:10

Ohh, I hear you with heartburn. Are you sleeping propped up? I'm rapidly disappearing under a pillow mountain in bed!

We know we're having a boy and DH has only said he liked 1 name so that has kind of stuck, but I keep going off it! :O We had LOADS picked out for girls. Good luck on agreeing! DH doesn't suggest any really, just vetoes all my suggestions!

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 10:18

Yeah I am, but its more during the day its at its worst.

Haha DP does the same, and the suggestions he does give are stupid names..

Rootatoot · 23/05/2011 10:26

lol! I think our DHs are two of a kind. The only boy names he suggested were Otto (?! we're not german!) and Vaughn (name of the black sheep of his family!?!) Great. ;)

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 10:28

Haha DP suggestions included - Tony Lerone (Toblerone, as in the chocolate!!) To be honest it was DPs idea to use my uncles name as a middle name so I cant complain tooooooo much!!

Rootatoot · 23/05/2011 10:36

Tony Lerone! Love it....sounds like a dodgy nightclub singer ;)

Eviepoo · 23/05/2011 11:36

Have you guys tried asking for Ranitadine from doctor, has been my saviour from acid reflux and vomiting.
I do have a few wobbles - mostly that we are not ready far far far from it I keep giving DH the run down on how many days to go (89) but it's not spurring him into action.
Having a day off today, glad I scheduled in a few odd days AL to make the odd weekend a bit longer, just knackered now.
Me and DH start classes a week on Wed....any of you going/started yet?

Rootatoot · 23/05/2011 11:51

Hi Eviepoo - No I haven't signed up to any NCT classes as we couldn't really afford it but we are down for the solitary NHS class at about 34 weeks! Apparently we get one on birth and I think there's one on Breastfeeding sometime later (?!). Feeling a bit nervous really that I am only getting 1 class to get my head around it all. My friend (mum of 3) asked yesterday if I had been practicing breathing techniques, if I had a birth plan etc. Freaked me out a bit as I don't even know what a birth plan involves really. I mean, yes it's choosing options but if you were to ask me right now if I want an epidural or how would I feel about a cut or any of that stuff, I just haven't got a clue.

DH isn't very good at talking about stuff so I'm also worried that I'm going to end up giving birth on my own or more or less so, as I don't think he's going to be there helping me breathe somehow!

Glad you are getting a few days off here and there. It's important to rest. I think I'm feeling a bit rubbish because I haven't slept very well/enough this weekend.

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 14:35

Eviepoo Thats what ive been perscribed today :)

Its been confirmed today, im definately not going back to work now, been off 7 weeks so far, just been signed off for a further 6 weeks and then annual leave starts before maternity leave kicks in. Feel like a weight has been lifted now :)

Eviepoo · 23/05/2011 19:51

rootatoot my classes are NHS ones 4 x 2hours ... Maybe it's different here in Scotland.
My DH is sooooo excited it's his first. I have an 11 year old DD whom he loves to bits, he really is her daddy, but I think he is excited about the baby bit (we've been together since she was 5).
He's a very practical person, the type to tell me to take 2 paracetamol and I'll be fine (just like his mum who's awesome like that). This means I'm slightly worried that he may expect me to be a superwoman in labour. Or maybe he'll have some serious respect for me when he realises just what childbirth is like!
Birth plans...I kinda think it's a good idea to have a basic idea of what you defo do n don't want but to be honest you'll just go with what's right at the time at least that's what I figured out last time.
I've not had a full night sleep since 5 weeks pg....peeing and feeling sick and numb hands and horrific cramps mean I am awake between 3 and 7 times a night. I'm getting used to it now, I have naps when I can. So I can sympathise I guess we will be ready for babies waking us :) I hope you too can catch some naps.

winter lover I'm so jealous that you off now. I have 10 and 30 June off. Then the week of 04 July off. Then finish 29 july. Glad doctor is helping you.

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 19:55

Eviepoo Ive been off since 18/19w and its now starting to drive me mad!! One good thing tho is DP is stripping baby's room and will be re-papering this week so Im going to paint it.. least I can do a wall at a time and feel useful for once.

Its annoying but I feel so much better for not being at work, my job wasnt demanding but was on the go constantly. Financially its not the best but its be the best for our health.. or so im told Hmm

Eviepoo · 23/05/2011 20:01

Well if doc thinks it's best...it probably is. Not too long to go now. That's what I keep telling myself anyhow.

other than that all is well :) xx

WinterLover · 24/05/2011 07:33

Morning August Ladies Grin

I have my 28w midwife appointment today Grin anyone else had theirs yet?

WinterLover · 24/05/2011 07:36

mrsmon I suffered with migranes prior to pregnancy so can sympathise, im lucky though only every had little niggly headaches whilst pregnant (usually my own fault, not enough water or sleep)

The slurred speech really freaks me out too, and when your brain and mouth dont connect :( I used to find laying down and ice lolloes helpful, if I drank loads of cold fluid I ended up bringing it back up, but lollies or ice cubes were lovely for cooling me down and getting some fluid in me. Also strangely a cup of tea often helped too.

Have you spoken to your GP about them? Im sure the tablets I took for mine (pre-pregnancy) said they we're safe in pregnancy... not 100% sure tho but they were a lifesaver.

Rootatoot · 24/05/2011 09:23

My 28 wk mw appointment is next week, I think it's a bit late cos she's on holiday as I seem to remember we're due same day? Anyways, she has to take blood tests at this one I think? I'm glad as nobody has checked my iron levels and I don't eat meat so hoping all ok there.

Also my SIL was given calcium tablets in her pregnancy but I asked GP if that was a standard thing and said maybe just something done in other health authorities.

One thing i was wondering about. My doc's surgery is at end of my road which is great but mw keeps going on about the surestart centre and i think my future appointments with her are going to be up there. I think they seem to be keen on getting people to go up to them. I'm not really keen as a) it means I will have to drive up there and park and b) it's in the middle of a rough estate which I don't even like driving through. Sorry if that makes me sound snobby but I think it's a bit unfair to MAKE me go. It's not as if she doesn't do a sessino at GP's surgery anyway. What does anyone think? Am I being stroppy?

WinterLover · 24/05/2011 16:06

Im back from midwives Grin

28w - Bloods, Anti-D, Blood pressure, babys HB, Urine and baby presentation.

I apparently have an awkward baby hmm its been breech or transverse on every appointment, although not officially noted as that until today. Now I know why the consultant wants me to have a growth/presentation/cyst scan next tues.. I love been kept in the loop Hmm

Babys bum is sat in my pelvis or thats what she can feel..

Rootatoot your not being stroppy at all, insist on going where you feel comfortable, round here you get the choice of 3 venues for appointments.

theonlyhb2 · 24/05/2011 19:10

off for my 28 week scan tomorrow, am rather excited.

went to the NEC baby show on Saturday, got the Silver Cross Sleepover Linear in Marina, with car seat and parasol thrown in too, 5 piece set nursery furniture (they deliver and assemble in 6 weeks), electric breast pump, bottles & 3in1 steriliser. Oh and a Angel Heart Doppler thingy which is rather cool. So pretty much all set now!

Bored of the heart burn, its been terrible the past few days but I have spent a lot of time in bed sleeping/resting as having a bit of an HG relapse (because I am over tired, but I haven't been able to sleep properly for ages! Yet since Sunday I have slept more than the previous month, so have sacked off work and given into it).

Does everyone know what they are having? We don't. OH wants to find out but I really don't so I win ha ha ha

WinterLover · 24/05/2011 20:36

theonlyhb2 Good luck for tomoro, how come your having a scan? You lucky sod i loved the Silvercross Sleepover, just could no way of afforded it :( maybe next time...
