littlebrighteyes · 24/07/2011 20:44

wow-well done and big congrats to you winterlover :)

ojojoj1 · 25/07/2011 17:35

I wish it was me Winter,I cant wait it is over.
I got my position scan today-head down engaged ready to pop but I feel like a whale as I couldnt get up from bed after scan-my SPD is embarassing-scanning lady was looking at me as if I was some kind of weirdo. :o
The heat and swelling doesnt help at all either.

Eviepoo · 26/07/2011 10:31

Quick update from me,

Well I was at diabetes clinic again yesterday?..

MW who did my checks = lovely. However, when I looked at my notes she said head was free!! She never even checked ? so I am really angry about that. I know head is not free, I can still feel it engaged like my midwife said it was on Friday.

Diabetes Registrar = cool, was an older guy who used a Dictaphone to write a letter to my GP, he was quirky but cool. He said that as I?m doing so well managing my bloods that he did not want to over ?medicalise? my PG and labour. So with a bit of negotiation with him he said I did not need to go again next week, as long as I see my community MW. So I called her and that?s fine :)

So in 2 weeks I have to go back, but I have a whole afternoon assessment including, a trace on the monitors, a ultrasound fluid check (apparently with GD you can have reduced fluid near the end that can affect baby) and to see the registrar again. As long as all that is fine they will let me go to term (so another 2 weeks), then repeat the tests.

Obstetrician = a different but lovely one. Explained why they repeated my thrombo screen last time I was in. When I had my screen done at the beginning of PG one of blood protein results was high, upon the repeat the protein was still high, so as a precautionary measure (my mum has had 3 blot clots and her mum died of one) I have to go on a 6 week course of blood thinners post delivery (injected by myself!!) I suppose injecting myself is better than developing a blot clot, but I thought I had got out of having to do injections when I did not need insulin.

Anyway I have less than 4 weeks to go til term now, and my MW really thinks Dragon will be here approx 1 week early, so I am not too worried about the above.

So tired and fed up of the morning sickness now- but I finish work on Friday ? woohoo!! Can?t wait. I have even stopped worrying about not getting everything finished at work. It?s not going to happen so why worry.

So how is everyone else?

root how is your BP? You are taking it easy I hope!!

Rootatoot · 26/07/2011 11:04

Hi Evie

Wow ..sounds like you are getting the works at the moment! Good news that they aren't over medicalising your pg/birth. You sound really upbeat which is great. Also good you are finishing work soon. Kudos to you for lasting till now! :)

My BP is just all over the place. I'm seriously getting fed up with the whole thing. I was up at hospital yesterday (and in again today AND tomorrow!). They checked BP which was something over 90 which is a level they're ok with for me. Then they checked it again 10 mins later and got 104 as bottom figure (anything over 100 and it's admission to hospital ) and then she got other MW to recheck it and it was 94! All in space of 15 mins. I mean why keep checking it ? The first reading was fine. The second MW said she thought that they'd put it up by keeping taking more readings! Well, yeah, no wonder I start feeling a bit anxious because I know if it's over 100 they're going to admit me again.

This afternoon they're doing a doppler scan to check blood flow to baby (and BP again - joy!) so I'm resting this morning and hoping I can keep BP down. Then consultant tomorrow and hoping she will tell me when they're going to induce me if that is their decision.

I think as I'm almost 37 weeks now, it seems daft to just keep medicating me more and more. I think they should just look to deliver now, although I'm really nervous about being induced early in case it doesn't work. :( Really don't want to end up in EMCS. Still best be positive. At least it's nearly over and if I can get me and baby to being here all safe and sound in a week's time I'll be very happy bunny!

Thanks for asking though and sorry to sound like a right moaning old bag!Grin

Lucky winter doing it all by herself early. Hope she posts a pic of her little one :)

ojojoj1 · 27/07/2011 13:29

I just had my last driving lesson before birth -I was hoping to take the test before due date but failed miserably. Mind you all this potholes in the road are like home made induction. I sleep terribly now and feel on the edge everytime I get tummy ache.
The closer the due date the more terrified I feel Shock. 2 weeks and 3 days!

Eviepoo · 27/07/2011 22:16

Today I was so bad - was in the office from 8.45 am to 8.15pm trying to get everything done - only 2 days left and I still have a mountain....too tired to think now - couldn't barely eat dinner. I think I will suffer for it tomorrow. Bad Evie - please tell me I'm not the only one doing daft things

littlebrighteyes · 28/07/2011 01:18

hi all-saw midwife today (had past 2 days of big load stress to deal with and hubby at somewhere else cause of it)

ive been in tears most of day -and sicking up -can hardly eat-midwife said she thinks may be start of labour as tummy keeps tightening up and feel so crap-plus got keytones in urine -think thats how u spell it?

she had a good feel and thought baby was head down then -did it again and wasnt very sure-when she heard heartbeat -seemed higher up and saif id dropped but not sure if its bum or head down !!!!! which has paniced me more -so she booking a scan-to see but lady who rang bk said that be on tue as they dont like doin it till 37 weeks.

she said im mearsuring 2 weeks behind -so baby not over big and if she was breech would consider normal deliv...............which am bit worried over now too-as ......as i got no deffo answer -but told to ring up labour ward and go in if tightings go worse.....................which havnt as yet but still there -hence im up now writing this at 1.19 and crapping it a bit-as 3 kids in bed and hubby elsewhere-but have step mum on stand by by phone ........

saying all this it may all die down but just got niggling feeling somethings goin on................
hope everyone else is ok xxx

shall update when can if this develops :0

theonlyhb2 · 28/07/2011 08:14

Damn not having internet, my fone is doing my head in too!

Congrats winter! Can't believe you popped so early. Have you named him yet?

Root you must be so fed up now. I wonder if they know they have problems with some of the machines so take a few different readings. I work in hospital equipment and wouldn't be the first time i heard something like that

oJoJoj, hope yr doing ok doesn't sound like it gonna be long

Evie stop doing so much! Yet i understand totally why you are as i was the same. Not long now :)

brighteyes, try not to be worried. I am amazed by all the different advice etc from so called professionals, i take everything they say with a pinch of salt!

I am measuring 2 weeks under. Still puking daily, deffo not eating enough but this baby squashes me so much i can't eat much at a time, HG has turned me into most fussy eater too, plus the heartburn. Sweets are now a massive no no as they make me sick and chronic heartburn. Been trying to avoid taking co-codamal but Sometimes back so bad i have to. Had none last night didn't sleep well and woken with sore throat.

Head is engaged though, thought it had been for a while. They not worried about my measurements and to be honest i always seem smaller in morning til baby moves into its fave position (legs out my ribs and arms out my side with bum stuck out). Cant believe i have less than 3 weeks til i am due. All baby clothes washed and bag will be finished later. Systematically mega cleaning a room daily. Not nesting just necessity! Quite enjoying not being at work now!

WinterLover · 28/07/2011 17:48

I have been going wild on cleaning for past few days-even got rug doctor for the carpets. Ironed about 50 items of my dd clothes went shopping for snacks and now waiting-got some pains since 4 o'clock especially strong when I need a wee. Anyone experienced that? Its all new for me as last time induced and baby born 5 hours later. Having my midwife appointment tomorrow . I am due on 13th.We will see if its will be early Confused

ojojoj1 · 01/08/2011 10:22

I had show during night and contractions every 30 min for the first 4 hours. Now all seems to calm down. I feel contactions when I am standing-strange that as soon as I sit I am ok.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Firawla · 01/08/2011 10:37

good luck ojojo!

Eviepoo · 01/08/2011 12:09

Get up and move around ojojoj1 ..my MW says moving around gets labour going and makes it faster. Oh so excited, good luck and keep us posted.

theonlyhb2 · 01/08/2011 17:04

how exciting ojojoj1!! i need to get this baby out its making me ill, was at A&E last night as couldn't breathe, now on steroids for chest infection. fun!

ojojoj1 · 01/08/2011 17:15

Been to see community midwife -she refused to examine me as she said that may bring things on-thata a new one for me-The contractions are regular as soon as I get up from my backside-Been on bumpy bus and than it was every 5 minutes so called assesment unit I am going in now

mrsmon · 01/08/2011 17:19

sounds as though youv had a very busy weekend eviepoo hope you are relaxing now!

ojojoj1 good luck sounds promising :)

Iv had really bad back pain for 3 days accompanied by aching legs! then last night i think i had a contraction!(never laboured before) so not sure but it was the most intense pain ever! felt like someone was squashing my whole bump and back and anything i did it would budge! then about 2 hours later had a little bit of a show which was clear. its all stopped now apart from the backache and sore legs!

so not wanting a EMCS!

x

Eviepoo · 01/08/2011 18:43

I've had a kind of relaxing day. Feel like I need to get baby stuff in order. So I assembled pram and cosy toes, sorted all dragons clothes into the chest of drawers in size order. Got the muslins etc ready.

Been having irregular contractions all day, I have pelvic pain and loose stools and have a feeling of impending labour.

No show but then my show did not come until 4 hours before DDs birth and already having 2 min apart contractions.....

Other than the contractions I can't remember much about the early stages it was that long ago.

It seems like there may be a few of the august babies making an appearance early in the month, with me feeling like this, ojojoj1 contracting and you having signs mrsmon...

What about the rest of you, how are you doing?

Rootatoot · 01/08/2011 20:08

WinterLover · 02/08/2011 09:13

Congratulations Root Oliver went in an incubator after birth too, definitely not a nice feeling. Hope your both home soon Grin x

Eviepoo · 02/08/2011 11:29

Morning, nothing happening in the poo household, pretty uneventful night. Saw MW this morning, head has moved down a touch more. She said if I get any more irregular contraction get out and go a walk to see if that gets things going. I'm still measuring 2 to 3 weeks big. Other than that all is ok.
