congrats to Labmonkey. Am with all you fed up overdues and nearydues - was supposed to have a sweep today (at 39w) but head not at all engaged so nothing doing. Sad Will try again next week but looking more likely to be another CS on or around DD of the 13th. bored now!

missemmajane · 06/05/2011 12:25

Congratulations Labmonkey! I have heard of this happening alot, midwives and doctors not examining ladies but saying "you're not in labour" and sending them home, and turns out the ladies are 4-5cm dialated! Seems like a quick look could solve the whole problem! Still, you got there in the end - lovely that all was well. Lovely name too!
Best wishes x

growing3rdbump · 06/05/2011 18:28

That kind of happened with my first baby - I was told I was in pre labour and sent to the ward with a couple of paracetamol. Then they eventually examined me after having painful contractions and said I was 4 cm and could walk downstairs to delivery suite... Baby was born about 20 mins later!

We ended up making a visit to hosp the other night as had some bleeding. They were great, examined me, did trace on baby etc and said I could go home and still ok for my homebirth... when LO finally decides to arrive.

With both of my first two babies it was 'BANG, you're in labour', but this time round DC3 has been messing me about with lots of false alarms. I'd heard 3rd babies can be difficult to call, but it's hugely stressing me out the closer we get to DS's birthday next wed and his much awaited party....!!!

Please let tonight be the night!

growing3rdbump · 06/05/2011 18:28

And also congratulations LabMonkey!!!!

cowboylover · 06/05/2011 20:24

The BH seam to start earlier everyday so fingers crossed it's a good thing to start with it was 1am but today 3pm so I hope she doesn't make me wait till I wake up with them in the morning as at this rate it will be another month!

Having a good shout at the rugby tonight so hope that does some good Smile

JBrd · 07/05/2011 09:02

Had a quite spicy curry last night...which certainly got my bowels going, but nothing else so far.
Have booked lots of pampering treatments for next week, I think I need to relax more than anything else now!

Teasie · 07/05/2011 17:37

Congratulations LabMonkey! X

juneau · 07/05/2011 17:51

Am I the only one who's feeling really nervous and panicked about labour and birth? This is my second and I suddenly remember how horrible and out of control I felt last time and I'm a mess Sad. Had really strong Braxton Hicks last night, DH was down the pub and I knew he'd been too pissed to drive me to the hospital if I needed him too and I just realised how unready I feel for this.

harrygracejessica · 07/05/2011 18:34

I haven't posted since the 17th April but on the 19th April I went for my pre op for my c-sec on 27th April and left the hospital having contractions but I wasn't worried as been like it since 29 weeks. Between hospital and home I was having to breathe through them as they were really bad, walked in the house 25 mins after leaving hospital, sat on the bed and my waters popped so went straight back to hospital and within 4 hours was in theatre. Had twin boys who were 6lb3 and 6lb9. The big one was very poorly and needed rescusitating at birth and 3 days in scbu but all home on day 4 :)

ng1412 · 07/05/2011 18:51

ah harry so glad to hear your news and also that your twins are ok, must have been very scary.

I am feeling totally fed up, one week to go to EDD and two of the girls from NCT have gone into labour today and I just wish it was me. I just don't have any signs at all, minor BHs and nothing else, I feel ready to burst and I have such bad indigestion and can't sleep. Have had enough, want my baby now!!!

cowboylover · 07/05/2011 19:58

June its my first but sometimes super excited and ready to take it all on to having a BH and being so scared I'm in tears as don't know what to do with myself! I hate it when DH is not here and I know he can't be all the time but he makes me less nervous.

The last thing we needed to get sorted was the moses basket and turns out the stand is faulty so got another trip into town on Monday so I hope I can get a replacement soon.

Harry That must have been so scary for you but glad you could all come home together so soon, congratulations!

NG1412 Just realised why LabMonkey was not on the antenatal stats we updated its because she's a tread buddy from the Pregnancy group which is different as there are 2 and some of us are on both.
I am with you on the heartburn front, can't believe I am still going thro so much Galiscon! EVERYTHING is making me exausted now, not just a little tired and I didn't think it could be possible but its getting even harder to get up from the chair/sofa/bed.

Is anyone else finding driving the car difficult?

ng1412 · 08/05/2011 23:10

Well I had reduced movements today (our first wedding anniversary btw!) so we decided to go to the hospital as I was very worried. They have decided to induce me so I am now here waiting for it all to start taking effect. Dh has gone home for some sleep and I am hoping nothing happens till morning!!!

JBrd · 09/05/2011 08:03

Good luck, ng1412, fingers crossed for you that all goes well! You'll soon have your lovely baby!

cowboylover · 09/05/2011 08:49

Be thinking of you NG1412, Good luck

clarabella18 · 09/05/2011 11:17

Good luck NG hope all goes well.

Cowboy, yes I'm struggling a bit with the driving too, well mot so much the driving but things like parking, reverse parking etc. Find my bump gets in the way and can make things a bit awkward.

Had the MW last Friday, everything still going fine baby still only 1/5 engaged. Asked about the size as I feel smaller this time than I did the last, however she said she would be surprised if he was going to be any smaller than ds1 who was 8llb 8oz.

Have now started with an absoloutly stinking cold and am spending the day on the sofa in my PJs with a box of tissues and vampire diaries series 1. Was desperate for baby to make an appearance but am now hoping he stays put until I'm over the worst of the cold.

ng1412 · 11/05/2011 06:04

Hi all just to update you, our beautiful baby girl was born yesterday (10th May) weighing 6lb 9oz. DH and I are completely smitten with her! Labour was pretty dreadful but it was worth the agony!!

clarabella18 · 11/05/2011 06:13

Congratulations ng! Do you have a name for your gorgeous bundle?

ng1412 · 11/05/2011 07:29

Thanks Clara, yes her name is Imogen!!

juneau · 11/05/2011 08:01

Another update:

Our second DS was born yesterday evening at 7.50pm after a rather alarmingly short 3.5hr labour. Only just made it to the hospital!!!! He is a healthy 8lbs 14oz. Tired, but happy mummy Grin

clarabella18 · 11/05/2011 08:09

Oh that's a lovely name ng
Congratulations to you too juneau and wow that is alarmingly short, glad you made it to the hospital on time!

I hope you both enjoy your first precious few days with your new additions! :)

LabMonkey · 11/05/2011 09:30

Congratulations ng and juneau!

pissovski · 11/05/2011 09:42

Lots of lovely news on this this thread :) congratulations to all those who are celebrating new arrivals.

I am a week overdue today. Lots of movement but i don;t think he's got the idea of 'go towards the light' as me and DH keep saying! I am worried/anxious/ bored of being asked 'anything happened' - just want him out now.

Have a MW appt later today and will probably be offered a sweep

cowboylover · 12/05/2011 01:07

Congratulations juneau and ng

I hope you are having a great time enjoying your little bundles Smile

clara I hope you are starting to feel better and I'm sure Damon and Stephan will help!!

pissovski Did you have a sweep? I hope things start happening for you soon so you can meet him at last.
