Heartburn, weird dreams, kicking baby.

Mostly the heart burn, just been sicl too.

Am really tired but can't get comfy.

Anyone else feeling a bit blurgh at the home stretch? Just kind of feel like I'm getting to the point where I've had enough of being pregnant but then once the baby comes I'm not gonna get much rest am I?! Grin

I was just about to start this kind of thread myself! I'm 35 weeks and sick to bleedin' death of these sleepless nights. Sure, you expect it when baby is here, but not now! My mind is tired, my body is tired, my feet and calves ache but can I sleep? Can I buggery. Sat on the sofa with a hot milk watching some programme on geology, hoping for some heavy eye action...

Still, you have to get to the really, REALLY pissed off stage before baby is ready to come. With DS, I went into labour about 1am, and that evening before, I was the most vile, angry, pissed off person you're ever likely to meet. I think this is what I do. I'm just going to get gradually more and more hideous until DD arrives! Poor DH ...

What are you donig to try and induce sleep? Tell me tell me tell me!!!!

LisMcA · 11/04/2011 03:58

I have 6 make that 5 days to go! Due Saturday with my first! A boy!

I've had stomach and back ache all day. I really am ready to have a baby now.

I've tried all the sleep tricks. Hot milk, not eating after 7pm, not going to bed until I'm actually tired and I've even kicked my lovely understanding DH into the spare room.

I'm just fed up! I've been off work since the beginning of February with SPD. I am so sick of sitting doing nothing. But I can't actually do anything else! It's a vicious circle!

jimper · 11/04/2011 05:44

I still have NINE WEEKS to go and I can't sleep at all :( I am soooo tired but just can't get to sleep....

I can't find anything that works! I need some ideas!

booandbump · 11/04/2011 07:05

It's awful isn't it. I have 6 & 1/2 weeks to go and I'm not sleeping either. As you say either baby is kicking or it's the heartburn. My ankles are huge! Confused

I've also just been sick. Is it normal for sickness to start again at this stage? It had finished at around 16 weeks!

camdancer · 11/04/2011 08:20

32 weeks here but not sleeping. Heartburn, kicking, just can't switch my brain off. I was meant to be going swimming this morning but needed the extra sleep time instead. I tried propping myself up on pillows. It stopped the heartburn but I was too uncomfy to sleep. Grrr. It's gonna be a long 8 weeks.

booandbump I was sick yesterday. Weirdly it actually made me feel much better - stopped the heartburn for a while.

harrygracejessica · 11/04/2011 08:50

I'm 36 weeks on Thursday but with twins so I'm a tad mahoosive on the belly size lol. They are taking them out at a max of 38 weeks so just over 2 weeks left for me and I can't wait :) they aren't on the small size either so hopefully can come straight home and then create lots more sleepless nights lol. I've been bedridden with SPD this pregnancy and with 3 other little people it's not been fun so I can't wait to get the others out and start having some fun again. Luckily OH works shifts so today Im resting until 1pm when he goes to work and in 1.5 weeks he's books off 12 days holiday that will then go straight into paternity leave so I'll have himhome almost for a month while I recover - blissful :)

TotorosOcarina · 11/04/2011 08:56

Selfishly happy to see its not just me!

I got a v-pillow and lay in that to prop me up a bit to stop the heartburn burn a bit but I wasn't comfatable.

Am really tired this morning but can't nap, I have too much to do, have MW doing HB visit of Friday and promised myself I would be fully organised by then!

31 weeks here and I seem to be avoiding the loo in the day and then it's my best friend in the night. Can't sleep as she is constantly kicking and on top of that the cramp is amazing!!!! Not!!! Oh well practise ladies for when our little angels are here!!!

Justtrying · 11/04/2011 09:00

5weeks+4 to go here also struggling sleeping. Baby pressing on ribs that i broke years ago. I roll over onto RHS to ease them then suffer from heartburn. Roll on babies arrival. Hoping to have a snooze this afternoon, at least if i fidgit i won't disturb DH. Can't sleep in spare room as its a nursery in progress at the mo.

TotorosOcarina · 11/04/2011 09:06

I have DD (2) in the bed also, so thats not helping - we are trying to get her out this week!

I have 3 1/2 weeks until my due date and im struggling. I feel like ill never get comfortable again... I eat rennies like sweets all night and find they work better for me than gaviscon but im also on ranitidine as it is pretty bad.

Dd3 is coming up to 11 months and still wakes a lot in the night and of course she usually wakes up just as ive managed to doze off (after 2 hours of wriggling).

I cant wait until she's here, i think even with a newborn and a 12 month old I cant get much less sleep than im getting now!

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 11:36

Same here- though only 2 1/2 weeks to go....It seems like the last stretch has gone/is going VERY slowly. I think that's always the case as the birth looms. Just twiddling my thumps at the mo, constantly waking up during the night with bad BH contx.

Just hope baby is not late, but trying not to get too hung up on that possibility....as I know a lot of 1st babies are late..Sad

Hanging on to the 'chance' that she may arrive any day from now, so rest, rest, rest..............

loopy11 · 11/04/2011 12:45

My due date was yesterday and for the last week I have hardly slept due to painful hips during the night plus bizarre bouts of cramp in my bum cheeks! Just had coffee with a friend who is going through her second round of IVF after an eptopic pregnancy - it soon put things into perspective - made me realise how lucky I am and how a few aches and pains really aren't that important in the long run. Good luck to everyone with their bundles of joy - not long for any of us now!

Milkybrew · 11/04/2011 13:36

Can I join in? 37 weeks, have barely slept past 3 nights as on top of the usual aches and heartburn I have the worst piles ever! can't sit or walk! Was feeling really positive to be on the home stretch and can't wait to meet my little girl but this pain has floored me and I just want to cry! :(

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 13:44

Milkybrew- I totally feel your pain! I had really painful piles up until a few days ago (I'm also 37+ wks)...

I persevered with the Anusol cream the doc prescribed and they are MUCH better now (it did take a good wk though)....are you using any medicated cream? I also recommend soaking in a hot bath, this really helps with the discomfort...

harrygracejessica · 11/04/2011 14:01

Milkybrew - I suffered most of the pregnancy but the last few weeks they are behaving :) send OH to the chemist for anusol suppositories, cleared mine up much much faster than the cream.

Milkybrew · 11/04/2011 14:06

Leilababyno1- yes I've seen the doctor today, I have anusol and also antibiotics as he thinks they are infected. They came on so quick, thought I'd been lucky to avoid them! Have basically spent the entire weekend sat in the bath as you are right, it does help! Left the docs in tears, hate taking any medicine in pregnancy and am hormonal and tired. Must have looked like a mad woman! Blush

Leilababyno1 · 11/04/2011 14:13

Milkybrew- bless you, they are SO horrible. Anti-bi's are fine to take in pregnancy, don't beat yourself up- much better to get the piles sorted before labour starts...though we will probably all have them back again post labour...Grin!! JOY!

I also got away without any during most of my pregnancy, they seem to be a latecomer...Sad Also found laying on my side the most comfortable position when watching tv etc...

Perpetuallypregnant · 11/04/2011 14:16

Another one with piles :(
On and off so far this pregnancy... Well, they are always there but some days are unbearable. Baths and anusol are definitely the way to go although the cream is a bit messy....

pipoca · 11/04/2011 15:20

34 weeks and also have the lying awake, totally awak, mind racing thing. I wake at 5.30 and can-t get back to sleep to save my life. Driving me crazy. DS was 4 wks early and I'm secretly hoping this one turns up a couple of weeks early so I don't have too much longer to go!

wobblyweeble82 · 11/04/2011 15:26

Well, here's the plan Fellow Fatties. When we're all up in the middle of the night, we can just come back to this thread and have a right old moan and whinge and talk about the strange sign language woman who winks a lot (on BBC1, usually to the Antiques Roadshow when someone says something 'witty'), and how hot milk really doesn't knock you out and stuff. Sorted Grin

LisMcA · 12/04/2011 00:44

Checking in for the night! I eventually got some sleep from 4am til 10 this morning. Then had a nap in the afternoon, which has probably been my downfall and reason I'm here now!

All those suffering from heartburn get thee to the docs! I was prescribed ranitidine and it has been a godsend. They did try to fob me off with cheepo version of gavisgon initially, but when i told them just how many large bottles of the stuff I was taking (1 was lasting 2 days at the most) they prescribed the tablets. No more wakingup with heartburn (well sometimes but a quick glass of milk sorts me out now).

soppypreggyloon · 12/04/2011 05:06

I'm awake too!
Sitting stewing in my run of bad luck/ irritations

  • broken washer- new one ue tomorrow but nowstressing it won't fit in gap!
  • ds doesn't want to settle in new room at nursery
  • elcs was moved yesterday from 8 days away to 11. Not a big deal time wise but annoying to n-th degree when child care is sorted and parents have booked hotel already
  • tax credits gone- we only got a little bit but still annoying
  • recently had to fork out for plumb to fix weird leak in bathroom o less cash than usual- especially with new washer on way

-oh and I'm having a baby very soon so am stressed about that plus I'm huge, uncomfortable, heartburn-y and very very emotional!

AAAARGH!!!!

Yukana · 12/04/2011 05:36

Only 23 weeks here with my first baby. Blush Just thought I'd pop in seeing as this past week I seem to have no problem popping off for a nap in the middle of the day but when it comes to night? No. No my body just has to make it bloody difficult, doesn't it?

Sitting down on my mattress is uncomfortable and hurts my bum! Plus waking up multiple times in the night needing a drink regardless of how much I've had to drink that day is driving me a little nuts but alas. That and having a dry mouth because I'm having to sleep with my mouth open. /Whinge

I hope your LOs arrive safely soon. :)

frakyouveryverymuch · 12/04/2011 06:13

Anyone else around?

I'm finding MN is not that helpful if you're left alone with it... Far too many scary stories and things to make you worry!
