Heartburn, weird dreams, kicking baby.

Mostly the heart burn, just been sicl too.

Am really tired but can't get comfy.

Anyone else feeling a bit blurgh at the home stretch? Just kind of feel like I'm getting to the point where I've had enough of being pregnant but then once the baby comes I'm not gonna get much rest am I?! Grin

LittleMilla, was also feeling that way yesterday - is it moving often enough etc, bad timing (for us) I guess. If I haven't felt baby move (and been consciously aware of it) I sit down and have something cold to drink and sweet to eat, but that just happens to get my LO going!

Was SURE something was happening last night - maybe my first ever Braxton Hicks at 40+ weeks?!?! Going for a stomp around the park this morning and more reflexology this afternoon.....get out get out get out!!!

If getting a grip means ignoring what you're feeling then don't! Much better to acknowledge it and be proactive. So every hour today take 10 minutes and follow the advice on countthekicks.org - they have downloadable sheets and although I've never really bothered filling them in because I go by the 1,5 hours rule it might help you get an idea of what's normal for your baby.

LittleMilla - really don't worry. I have never counted my baby movements, but I know that she is moving regularly and feel happy that everything is ok from that. I know she moves a lot at the end of the day and I can usually feel her moving between 6/7am.

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 09:14

lis I want to know if Peter Kay did the trick?! Are you contracting away like a good one now? I do hope so :)

Morning everyone else - i hope we're all plodding on okay :) I'm mostly wanting to push baby's head back up from dangling somewhere between my knees. Just dropped DH off and blimey, did I feel every bump on the toad this morning ...

LittleMilla · 15/04/2011 09:16

Thanks guys, problem shared and all that. Feel like I was

Pootletrinket · 15/04/2011 09:32

Sounds good Little Milla.

And Wobbly, I laughed at you feeling every bump on the toad - thanks for making me smile this morning.

Right, off to shake this baby out (with luck!)

Yes, Lis, how was Peter?

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 10:52

Good luck pootle Grin

StiffyByng · 15/04/2011 11:07

Good luck!

I've fretted about movements for weeks. It doesn't help that I have an anterior placenta, and that the baby seems to have a naturally irregular pattern of movement, so a busy day will be followed (or not) by a quieter day. So yesterday's report obviously got to me. More worry.

I didn't get to sleep till almost 5am. I'd taken my daily allowance of painkillers throughout the day as it was really busy (for me) and so I left myself without anything to take at bedtime. I had hours of shooting nerve pain down my leg and was sobbing. My poor husband was desperate to help but there's nothing much to be done. At least I can have a lie in today.

LisMcA · 15/04/2011 14:10

Still here!! Peter was very funny and my tummy muscles are a bit achy today from the laughing!!

There was another mum to be sitting beside me, so we were a little bit worried one of us might end up in labour by the end of it! Sadly not!

Due date tomorrow, so maybe we'll have a bubba over the weekend!!

Leilababyno1 · 15/04/2011 14:14

Hi all,

I have tried to stay away from the news reports on stillbirths, like others it will make me TOO paranoid....and at this moment in time just need to thinking positively about our up coming labours.
As long as we are all feeling our babies jigging about on a regular basis, that should be fine...

Bit of a bummer, but sprained my ankle last night when leaving Wagamamas- fell down the stairs!! All is fine though, thankfully I landed on my bottom and avoided bump. Did make those frequent trips to the loo last night VERY difficult though. Hope labour holds off until I'm a little more mobile!

Pootletrinket · 15/04/2011 14:48

eek Leila, that sounds bad, poor you (was it too much gin?!!)

Stiffy, your night sounds dreadful, hope the lie in was useful.

I've walked over a mile (slowly, with 2 4year olds!) and was standing for 3 hours, feel really shattered now like I've overdone it a bit, going to have a rest for a bit

Leilababyno1 · 15/04/2011 14:56

ooooh Pootletrinket the walk sounds good- well done you! You never know, it may help get things going!!

Keep us posted! Smile

Leilababyno1 · 15/04/2011 14:57

Don't I wish it was the gin! What I would give for a cold g & t!!!!!

Might have a little one tomorrow- hey it's the weekend!

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 16:13

Boooo Lis ... At least you got your funny bone tickled if nowt else. And youchies Leila. It's more of an excuse though to be waited on hand on foot though ... Like your style!

My is away for the weekend and DS is at his Grandma's so I'm mostly young, free and single old, tired and cumbersome this weekend. Still, no football! No cartoons! And hopefully no baby - yet Grin

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 16:14

That's DH btw

Pootletrinket · 15/04/2011 17:07

LOL, I just had to go and have a sleep so entirely with you on the old, tired and cumbersome-ness.

DH announced last night that if there was no sign of baby by tonight, I was going to 'get lucky' - reckon the only luck will be if I go into labour in the next 3-4 hours - pleeeease!??!! Feel the antichrist of sexy and generally uncomfortable, somewhat in pain and just not in the mood!

I was also thinking of a little gin - first all pregnancy, when a friend thought that she had labour brought on by wine!!!

Leilababyno1 · 15/04/2011 17:20

Pootletrinket- One of my friends had a shot of brandy when her labour began- said it took the edge off it! Wink

By this stage all our babbas are fully baked, so don't think the one will do much harm. If you do have that gin- enjoy it!

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 17:25

Oh, I can think of nothing worse than 'getting lucky' at this stage Pootle. A friend of mine did the whole sex thing to get her going with her first. She showed her midwife her 'show'. Turns out it was the remnants of her DH's jolly rodgering! And criiiiiiiinge ... Grin

Pootletrinket · 15/04/2011 17:30

ughhhhhhhhh

LittleMilla · 15/04/2011 18:03

Leila - you poor thing with your ankle. My SPD means that I hobble to the loo every night...occasionally having the fear that my right hip will literally give way. Another thing I won't miss when this baby arrives! Grin

Stiffy you poor love, that absolutely sucks for you Sad.

Pootle my DH is somewhat put off jiggy after last weekend's escapades. I have finally got the horn my mojo back and so we've been doing it a bit more. However, afterwards I asked him if it felt any different to which he replied (SORRY IF TMI) "yea it was odd. Pretty sure I could feel your cervix and something kept on moving". I jovially replied that he might have actually been bashing the baby's head- ha ha. And he went ashen.

Unsurprisingly he won't touch me now Hmm.

Wobbly ha ha at your friend. I'd be MORTIFIED!!

LittleMilla · 15/04/2011 18:05

Should have added about the jiggy tale that baby is now pretty much fully engaged...hence why I was asking if it felt any different Blush.

Pootletrinket · 15/04/2011 18:49

LOL LitteMilla, I've been off sex throughout this pregnancy, so poor bloke is desperate!

Badgerwife · 15/04/2011 18:56

Oh damn. I'm 26 weeks so have aaaages to go, but I've just had my worst day of heartburn and acid reflux so far so I feel your pain OP.

Pootletrinket, have that gin for me

wobblyweeble82 · 15/04/2011 19:20

Ha ha littlemilla We tried to do the do last week and baby got hiccups in the middle of it all ... More of a passion killer than the time the blind fell off the window and cut DH's head open :) I'm with you all in all pootle ... I'd rather have a cup of raspberry leaf tea and listen to a podcast...
