Heartburn, weird dreams, kicking baby.

Mostly the heart burn, just been sicl too.

Am really tired but can't get comfy.

Anyone else feeling a bit blurgh at the home stretch? Just kind of feel like I'm getting to the point where I've had enough of being pregnant but then once the baby comes I'm not gonna get much rest am I?! Grin

Wobbly, hope all's going well (and that your dinner settled well, realised why I'm stuffed - DB is nowhere near engaged!) - look forward to good news soon!

LittleMilla · 19/04/2011 09:34

Wobbly weeeeeeeeeeell? Any news!?!?!

Had a terrible night's sleep. Couldn't nod off then kept on waking up. Think I was stupidly hoping that the full moon might have some magical effect. Nowt to report thought.

Hurrumph.

Oh well, at least it's a beautiful day today. Waiting for the builder to come at 11am. Trip to supermarket, then i'm going to walk around the common I think? Must try not to get sunburnt again though.

Pootletrinket · 19/04/2011 10:25

Failed sweep attempt here - nothing in pelvis so 'too risky' to do it. Asked if worth having another go in a couple of days, she said 'maybe but unlikely it'll be any good' - aaaargh. Need to do walking, but how much/where is my conundrum!!!!

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 12:21

The food sounds lovely!

I can't walk! I'm so jealous of you lot walking everywhere. How on earth am I going to get this baby out? I'm lying down now with my fabulous heated wheatbag on my worst leg and aching back, after doing what I thought of as 'a lot of walking' this morning - it was doing the washing up from last night and letting the carpet cleaning man in, plus standing for a brief chat with him! I can't do stairs either.

On the plus side, MrB was away again last night and I had a gorgeous night's sleep stretched across the bed.

LisMcA · 19/04/2011 12:41

I'm still here too ladies! Got hopsital appointment today for a sweep and to discuss "options". had a huge wobble yesterday about taking my painkillers for SPD and worrying I'm doing babe more harm than good. More or less demanded my MW get me a consultant appointment becuase I was thinking baby was better off out than in! Feel slightly better in myself today, but still guilty about the painkillers.

Leilababyno1 · 19/04/2011 12:44

Hi ladies...

Wobbly- I guess you might be in full blown labour, as no sign of you on MN yet today...Good-luck!! And hope there is lovely baby news soon!

Pootle- Sorry about your sweep, that's very frustrating. Though baby could still initiate labour naturally without engagement, have heard that many subsequent babies don't engage until labour is fullly underway- don't give up hope yet!

One good exercise is sitting on a hard floor, with your back straight and legs open in a V as much as possible- breath and relax your muscles whilst in this position. It will open the pelvis up to it's maximum and babba may start to drop. Also, as boring as it is- as you mentioned the birth ball is really helpful for getting baby to engage, gentle bounces for as long as you can handle it are worth it. The day I spent an hour on mine (it became painful!), baby had engaged half way at my MW appointment later that day- she didn't STAY engaged, but hay ho- she must be a little madam...

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 12:58

Lis I'm having exactly the same wobbles about my SPD painkillers. I'm taking as little as possible, but I just can't manage at night without them. The guidelines suggest to stop taking co-codamol 48 hours before delivery, but that's not easy if you don't know when delivery will be. I'm going to raise it with my midwife tomorrow, but I hope you can get some peace of mind.

Having said that about delivery, my midwives have also said the best thing for me in early labour would be co-codamol or co-drydamol and straight into the bath, so they don't actually seem too bothered!

Fingers crossed for wobbly! And yes, pootle, I've also heard that second babies can remain unengaged until labour starts. Have you tried washing the floor?!

Pootletrinket · 19/04/2011 13:19

Yes, floor washed yesterday!!!

Need to get DH to reinflate my ball a bit! Not worried about it not being engaged, too much, just that it's floating around and nowhere near!!!! Little tyke!

Pootletrinket · 21/04/2011 08:08

Can everyone sleep now?!! Hope so x

ng1412 · 21/04/2011 09:01

Hi can I join in too? Have been lurking on this thread since it started and hoping to see some births soon! I am 36 +4 so not as far as some of you but hoping for an early birth due to major back pain which is debilitating.

I am up at least 5 times a night for a pee so not much sleep had here.

Anyone feeling like they are going to have a baby today??! Smile

Pootletrinket · 21/04/2011 09:35

Hi ng of course you can join!! Sorry to hear about your back pain, that's rotten.

TBH, I don't even feel I'm going to have a baby this month anymore, let alone today! Reflexologist said I was remarkably relaxed - no idea how that happened!

LittleMilla · 21/04/2011 10:31

My DH has got man-flu, is refusing to take the necessary time off to recouperate....so is coughing/hacking his way through the night. REALLY not what I need. Up to three wees a night now and waking up every time I need to haul my fat ar$e in to another position.

Pootle I am feeling EXACTLY the same. I live in London (no garden) and am desperate to get away this weekend...but just feel tied. Thinking we might brave the south coast cause it's only 1.5 hours away. But we'd normally camp or book in to a B&B but cannot even do that. So flipping frustrating.

ng welcome. This thread is also a shameless moany thread too - it's multidimensional! Ha!

Pootletrinket · 22/04/2011 10:25

Little, have you got a spare room you can decamp DH into? Mine's been in for 2 weeks now as he was keeping me awake coughing and snoring plus I couldn't stretch out my arms, so my carpal tunnel was waking me frequently.

Would LOVE to get out somewhere 'normal' this weekend - don't you think being away from your local hosp might 'jinx' labour to come on?!

Poor DD keeps complaining as all her little friends have got a little holiday to go on, we keep telling her we'll do smething when baby (finallly) gets here!

LittleMilla · 22/04/2011 17:38

Pootle I've had a day wondering round the shops with SIL, combined with a nice lunch in the sun and now home and knackered. DH has said we should go out for dinner tonight...but I am now feeling knackered!!

Think we're going to head to in-laws tomorrow which is about an hour away from hospital. Don't want to risk much further. And TBH (and this will sound harsh), I REALLY don't want things to kick off at theirs. So that prob means it will...! Ha.

Your poor DD. I am sure that when the baby arrives she'll be OK. Was in WH Smith earlier and they're doing 2 for 1 on Legoland etc when you buy anything (I only got a drink Hmm)...so perhaps that might be something to look forward to?

My EDD is Monday, so you'll defo drop before me. Just so fooff (hot!) and want to meet this little monkey! xx

Pootletrinket · 22/04/2011 19:40

Little Milla our nearest (decent) beach is an hour and half/2 hours away; DH wants to go tmw but we have to wait in for MW (what's the bets she'll be as late as poss?!!) and would need to leave @9 for beach.

Very hot, shaved legs and underarms today so can at least wear the one dress that I'm semi-decent in!

That said think I jinxed the weather tonight, we've had some rain since the BBQ (but apparently it was forecast!)

Pootletrinket · 23/04/2011 12:24

MW been and gone; no sweep performed but baby head down again - BP up to 100 on diastolic, they took blood and I said I'd go up for monitoring this evening if the results are alarming - may sound careless, but this happened last time and wasting this gorgeous weather being hooked up to a machine will not help my BP!!

Off for another picnic - wearing dress tday and feeling slightly trailer-park-ish!!

Leilababyno1 · 23/04/2011 18:50

Hi ladies,

How we all doing??

I lost what I think was my mucous plug last night at 39 wks (it was clear, jelly like stuff? sorry if TMI), then had an evening of intense, regular Braxton Hicks contractions- a couple were accompanied by strong lower back pain and I thought things were starting, but then the pains tapered off...

I have had more regular BH tightenings today, but no pain. Aaah well, hope this latent fase doesn't go on for too long.

This heat is exhausting! Bought some orange ice lollies, and can't stop craving cold drinks.

Hope you had a lovely picnic Pootle, keep an eye on that BP!

LittleMilla · 24/04/2011 14:18

Leila that all sounds VERY promising. JEALOUS!! I am still waiting for anything more concrete than braxton hicks and some intermitant period pains. Every time I feel a twinge I am thinking "is this it?" and it invariabley is nothing. Keep up on ice lollies and drinks, you need to keep cool.

Got a MW appointment on Wed where I'll ask for a sweep. EDD is tomorrow.

Trying to enjoy the sun but just too hot. So at in-laws and come inside to sit on computer and have a break.

Pootle how are you and BP? So sorry to hear that you still cannot have sweep. All OK re: BP. Could it be a sign that things are kicking off...or is that simply wishful thinking!?!?!

xx

Pootletrinket · 27/04/2011 14:16

Hello! Thy admitted me Sat due to BP, induced Sun, she flipped back to breech on Sat night (whch they discovered as I was 6cm), tried vaginal delivery, but it was too slow and she was in distress, but arrived safely through EMCS on Monday at 2.21am - 8lb 5oz. Came home last night, pooped but happy!!

LittleMilla, Leilababy, thinking of you!

LittleMilla · 27/04/2011 16:28

Yay for you Pootle - so pleased for you!! Congratulations.

Just got back from my MW appt where they did a sweep. Hoping that it'll kick things off for me!

xx

Pootletrinket · 28/04/2011 15:14

Hope so too, LittleMilla, will keep my eyes open for your news!

Leilababyno1 · 28/04/2011 15:37

Congratulations Pootle- so chuffed for you!! How many days over were you in the end? Smile

Good-luck with your sweep LittleMilla, keeping my fingers crossed it get things moving for you! Keep us informed!

No news hear, EDD in 2 days- so still lots of time...sweep booked for Wednesday 4th, if she hasn't arrived by then.

Getting very impatient now, as soooo uncomfortable and heavy. Really think she's going to be a very big girl! Let's hope she doesn't keep me waiting too long...

Pootletrinket · 28/04/2011 16:49

13 days, Leila!! I hope yours doesn't keep you waiting as long (and also is a good girl and doesn't go back to being breech like my naughty litte one!!!)
