DoubleDiffedDachs · 10/05/2011 07:33

:)

Thanks for last night guys. DH eventually made it home and we talked about potential other options for godmothers so am not freaking out as much as I was.

There are problems on the trains this morning though so the train into London is heaving. And none of the men offered to stand up for me. They all stared at my baby on board badge and then stared pointedly at their papers. A woman over in the far corner offered to stand up and that triggered one of the men getting up. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those weeks!

PinkFondantFancy · 10/05/2011 07:50

loopy hope today goes ok
dacha glad you got a chance for a chat with DH yesterday. I reckon you should correct your badge to say babIES on board Grin. I think it's shocking that it's mainly women that give up seats-what do these men make of it when their OHs have to stand on the train? I'm v grateful that I'll be getting a bump over the summer-it's surely got to be easier to get a seat when it's obvious you're pg rather than it being hidden under a coat.
Hope everyone has a good day! I'm hoping to make it to pregnancy yoga at work today-keep everything crossed for me that I don't get stuck in a meeting just before!!

appleblossoms · 10/05/2011 07:51

orange I'm holding out till 37 weeks (kinda). I managed it easily with DS, but this time I'm really wishing I stopped earlier...despite cutting down hours. Think I'm going to take a few more days holiday to cut down even more as I don't think I'll make it through these next two weeks otherwise....but I do have a lovely Hmm ds who is currently waking at 5:30 every morning, which doesn't help!

littlemiss have you managed to not unpack your deliveries?! Very controlled of you. Grin

daisy I like your names. DH loves Alfred, tis on our short list too Grin but there are a couple of others ahead of it..

How are you doing lovely? What's it like having a second? Is DS enjoying being a big brother? I'm getting really nervous that my DS is going to suddenly turn into a terror the mintue I bring a baby home!

moo I don't think there are any bits in my house that tidy right now! Grin I'm blaming it on the fact that I can't bend down...the fact it's no different to when I'm not pregnant is definitely NOT the point. hehe.
Hurrah for BH and cramps...I hope it's not much longer for you. Sorry you're feeling grumpy, these hormones arent much fun are they!

hurray velvet!! Congrats on making it across, lovely to see you here. I'd love to be kept informed about the trip to mamap's...not sure whether I'll actually be able to make it as it's a fair way, but would like to if possible.

Sorry you had a bad night yesterday dachs Sad You silly moo, this is the perfect place to vent this kind of thing! Godparents are a tough one...but you've got lots of time yet. We've asked people for DS, but haven't actually had his dedication yet! Decided when we got pregnant this time we'd do a double job later this summer...and I'm currently trying to decide who to ask for this one. I hope you find a solution you're happy with. Glad you're feeling a little chirpier this morning.

loops I've got my suspenders on too! come on mini-loops!!

I had a great hospital trip yesterday. Thyroid is behaving, so don't need to be checked again until 6 weeks postnatal. Scan was a little weird, really can't see much as baby just fills the screen. He's measuring about 6lbs already, but MW said he'll probably be about 8-9 lbs when born, so about the same as DS, which is a relief. DH was 10 something, and I was really scared of having a mahoooosif baby. Also got a quick tour of the new midwife unit, and have decided we'll have the baby there...it's 6 mins by blue-light ambulance to the next town if there's an emergency, which isn't too bad. (orange have you looked round it yet? tis lovely!) so we'll see how I get on...bit nervous of labouring without the prospect of an epidural if it gets too much, but all the homebirths on this thread have inspired me that i can do it!

PinkFondantFancy · 10/05/2011 08:05

Oh I missed loads yesterday, doh! littlemiss there's so way I'd be able to restrain myself!

daisy your names are lovely! Is your appointment today?

apples fab news on your thyroid!

OrangeGloss · 10/05/2011 11:07

I started writing last night but fell asleep with my phone in hand Blush

Thanks for mat leave comments, I was thinking about 38 weeks with a view to using my leave to reduce down the number of days in the lead up, but makes me wonder if 37 is a bit more realistic apples I completely understand you finishing earlier with a DS to think about

Dachs glad you got chance for a chat with dh. Having 8 already is a good reason I suppose but doesn't help you! I wouldn't have expected anyone to say no either. This is the perfect place to discuss it. What about asking a family member? We're thinking about godparents despite not having a christening Hmm

I was on the tube for the first time on Saturday and no one offered me their seat. I did beat a young bloke to a seat who looked at me and tutted! I don't envy all you commuters

Pink I'm very Envy you have pg yoga at work
Daisy I love the name Seth! It's on our shortlist but current winner is Dylan. I'm loving all your boys names. Nothing we can decide on for a girl. Good to see you going ahead with the blind, I'll be going for something similar
Moo glad to hear you're not on for a 10lb-er! I wasn't considering there tbh as the lack of epidural option scared me, and the next town has a MW unit attached for a similar experience but with backup upstairs. But I'll have a look, it's only down the road from where I live so seems a bit daft not to
Velvet congrats on making it over!
Urban you should ask who you want, tis your decision after all, she'll get over it

nickstermum · 10/05/2011 11:21

Orange & apples

appleblossoms · 10/05/2011 12:14

nix I haven't looked into hypnobirthing at all...so interested to know what's recommended...and hurrah for 28 week appointment! It's flying by now!! good luck with house selling...hope you get a wonderful offer really quick and it all goes really smoothly.

orange that's exactly what I thought at the start, but my mw convinced me to take a look and it is lovely...and quieter than the next town, apparently they only have one lady a day giving birth....so you can stay in the room you labour in as long as you like, and DH can stay too as they have double sofa beds! It's the same policy at the other place but as they are busier, they also have a ward if someone needs your labour room. That's what swung it for me...a private room postnatal! Grin

Wombat33 · 10/05/2011 12:44

Hello lovely ladies. Velvet can I come on the mamap trip too??

PenguinsMummy · 10/05/2011 15:23

Just popping on quickly to see if there was any news from Loopy whilst I have a sleeping baby!

Can't believe that Clodagh is 4 weeks tomorrow. All is going well - more sleep would be nice but she's worth it!

Waves and hugs to all Grin

littlemiss72 · 10/05/2011 16:23

Hi Ladies, another sunny day! apples wonderful news to hear all is well with you. x

Dacha I feel for you commuting by train, your right about it always being the ladies getting up first to let you sit down. Shocking really I'd like to think my DH would have more sense! I was lucky, got the boat to work every day - the bigger I got the more attention the staff gave me Grin I was first on and off every day morning and night. I actually miss them all on the Thames Clippers lol.

Loopy If I could bend to get on the suspenders..I would Shock fingers crossed all is well with you today x

Pink hope you get to do your class today, it's always good to keep up some form of exercise - well done lady!

All the goodies arrived - I was a little on the edge as at 8.55pm nothing had turned up! The delivery slot being 2/9pm.. joke! The boxes are all so big that I'm not even going to attempt it. I'm itching to get the pram out - I spent hours researching which one to get - I just want to play with the dam thing! DH home tomorrow lunch time, that's his first job.. fly's off again Thursday morning so the rest can wait Grin

I'm working my way through a little list of things to do.. I'm finding I have to keep active or I just sleep. That said I'm enjoying the relaxation at last!

Love to all x

Nix congrats on taking the house plunge, you're braver than me selling at this time. Hurrah for being booted, and for 28 week app Envy
Moo we're gonna have a look when we go to the next town to compare, it seems silly not to, bit different to how my MW described it but that was in October (last pg) so things might have changed. V exciting you're planning this, I'm far too impatient and want to do it all now!
Penguin wow time has gone fast when you put it like that! Good to hear all is well
Littlemiss I would have the same impatience! Shame you have to wait, it'll be all the more fun though :) We bought ours a couple of weeks ago as a friend was selling and a good deal, but it's just sat in the spare room until nearer the time

I think I'm gonna say I'll leave at 38 weeks, and use my leave to reduce the 4 weeks leading up to it. Feels weird having to say so early. Miniorange is getting busier in there, so hard to concentrate in meetings :) does anyone else's dh talk to bump? He was wondering if he should

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 11/05/2011 09:07

quickly, onehandedly, popping in to check on loopy. :)

apple DS1 is smitten with his little brother. I'm struggling a bit but that's more down to DHs new office than the challenge af having 2 kids, which, in itself, isn't as bad as I feared.

will do a proper post when i have 2 hands.

Ooh sounding promising Loopy!

Orange my DH has started talking to the bump. Mostly it's to tell her to move to somewhere more comfortable for me when she's kicking something sore but he's also bought a copy of "Guess How Much I Love You" which he reads to her sometimes before bed Grin Grin

Nix Whoop on the house front! We're also trying to move - have had an offer accepted on the place I posted about a few weeks ago and got the mortgage offer through yesterday. Survey report due today so fingers crossed!

Ivy glad to hear it's all going well and hope it gets a bit easier soon! [naiive first timer emoticon??]

Daisy V good luck for tomorrow's appointment! Hope it's more useful than you fear. I agree with the others (poss on the other thread - I lose track!) change counsellor if you don't click with this one. xxx

Pink did you make it to yoga? I really need to find a class. Or a DVD - can anyone recommend one?

Ditto for hypnobirthing (or anything else that might help me get through labour!).

Big hugs all round xxx

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 11/05/2011 18:25

loopy sending you good thoughts and labour vibes. also gentle squeezes for the MMC anniversary.

wombat If you PM me your email address I can send you the hypno course I did, if you want.

Thanks Ivy - have PMed you.

PinkFondantFancy · 11/05/2011 19:06

loopy hope you're doing ok today xx

wombie sadly they've postponed the classes till June. Still, I guess that isn't too far away now.

Repeat anatomy scan went fantastically today. I had chocolate and a load of cold apple juice for brekkie and baby was on its back and wiggling Grin so they saw everything they needed to see and all the measurements are spot on. Such a relief! Thanks for all your support while ive been stressing about the scan btw! Am completely exhausted now-don't sleep v well the night before a scan so it'll be an early night tonight!!

Wombat33 · 11/05/2011 19:09

Hurrah Pink that's fab news!! Grin

Wombat33 · 11/05/2011 19:09

(about the scan obviously, not about the classes being postponed...)

clareanna · 11/05/2011 20:48

Just popping by to see how loopy is doing- glad things might be getting going... The mmc anniversary is so sad- hope you were ok yesterday.

pink great news about your scan!! Hope you're relaxing a bit more now?

UrbanLolly · 11/05/2011 21:30

Just popping in to see if there's any good news!! (hectic day in work....busted!)
loopy hope you had a nice day at the shops & are not too tired...sounds promising though.....good luck
