Oops fat fingers! Any chance of another long walk today? good thinking about starting a thread hahaha I bet you £5 it decends into a debate about the value of public sector employees or some other dark corner of MN though! Grin

I might go back to sleep now! Did anyone get last nights promised thunderstorm? I didn't, and I feel cheated!!!! [pouting emoticon]

appleblossoms · 07/05/2011 08:03

Will post properly later, but pink we got our mortgage whilst I was on maternity leave. I just had to show my pay slips from when I was working and I think a letter confirming my return to work date...hope that helps.

Aw thanks Loopy :) about the BF fred i mean.
Pink i think you have to show your Year end salary sheet (cannot remember what its called) plus your last 3 months wage slips for both you and DH. I dont know if there is any rule on disclosure. As long as it gets paid - they shouldnt care right?

YEY for the sweep Loopy hope it gets things moving. Nowt worse than a shitty MW though :(

Had a better day yest thanks. DS has been thrashing about all night though so V tired this morning. AIBU to be ver angry that i got the house to a new pin yesterday in between working at home and juggling various other things... in order for Butters John Bee to come round to value it at 3.30...and the Feckers didnt even bother to turn up......?!??!?! Its helped with getting a couple of agents round to give us a valuation/ball park figure...has almost helped with starting to get things moving if you like :)

OrangeGloss · 07/05/2011 09:45

Pink it sucks being in the same place a MMC was discovered, but hopefully happy memories will go some way to replacing. Did you sort out another scan?
Moo glad you got a car sorted. First time I've bought a car too! It's big! I hate driving so dh is the one getting used to it really
Ivy congrats Grin and thanks for sharing your lovely birth story, it sounds perfect, and quite nice it was still a surprise for you both too!
Congrats Wombat on being team pink! And good to hear your scan went well, phew!
Loopy congrats on being fully cooked Grin sorry you have such a rubbish cmw :(
YRMOTB good name and good to see you here :) and Izzy it's nice to see you braving a peek
Nix are you feeling any better? Must be so tough being without dh, never mind being pg and have ds too
Owl and Nix I'm very Envy of your 13 week countdown

Same old from me, miniorange had a quiet day but then made up for it yesterday moving around all day :) I've had 3 people at work call me fatty and lots of comments telling me I'm huge Hmm but suppose I was a size 10 so maybe it's just their shock. I hope everyone has something awesome planned for today Grin

OrangeGloss · 07/05/2011 22:28

Oooh, it is REALLY quiet at the moment!

izzy and YRMOTB so so lovely to see you both over here. Praying for nice easy pregnancies for you both.

orange I find it so funny how one person can say your bump is huge and the very next person tells you how 'neat' it looks...everyone feels they can make a comment about bump sizes!

How's it going moo? Really not much longer now! Loved your FB photos....and am very Envy of your house, how do you keep it so immaculate when you have a little one running round?! I thought mine was fairly tidy at the moment, but it still looks like a bomb-site! Grin

crochet are you lurking? Hope your doing okay, not long left for us now either....

Am really up and down at the moment, don't really enjoy this bit of pregnancy...especially with a toddler to look after too. Just feel like I'm not being a very good mummy to DS as I can't keep getting up and down all the time to play with him. Just want the baby here now so I can bend in the middle etc.!!

I've got a scan tomorrow to check on size (due to my thyroid, had them with DS too) so am looking forward to an extra sneaky peak. Just hope they don't predict he'll be a monster, am measuring two weeks ahead on the tape measure and am really nervous he's going to be huuuge!!

MW wasn't very helpful last week...baby not engaged, but still nothing they can do to make me more comfy...apparently it's just the joys of second pregnancies that everything is looser and therefore not as well supported. Ah well.

waves to everyone else

nickstermum · 08/05/2011 08:47

Morning all Grin

Have awoke with ooooodles of energy, and everyone seems to be in good moods this morning - Woot! Even made DS and DH bfast in my bed Grin

I too v envious of what appears to be Moos immaculately tidy hoose... and thinks the nesting instinct has defo kicked in Grin

I am nesting hoorah... bean has been booting me and bloody well scratched me last night... monkey! 27 weeks today... HUZZAH [owl Grin ] one more week and can relax even more...

IzZ well done on wandering over.... send over some more Grin Good to see you over here pal x

I am huge apples and oranges dont fret if you think you are big... DH was a ten pounder when he was born... thankfully DS was only just under 8lbs but even that was quite big for a first. Thinking this one will be bigger... have even started to find myself wondering if it will be a boy or a girl...

STILL need name inspiration.. Girls there are plenty of pretty names to choose from but for boys the names are just rubbish... I have a couple that we chose for DS but even now my preference has changed.. will see..

owlbooty · 08/05/2011 10:15

I was measuring 2 weeks ahead at my last week GP appt - the GP didn't notice though as she had got her predicting wheel thingy confused and thought I was 24+6 rather than 24+1 and the measurement was 26. I am about half the size of the woman I work with who is actually two weeks ahead so I have decided that this measuring business is mostly a right load of bollocks Grin We'll see what the MW says when I see her on Friday.

I'm not nesting but I am panicking about nesting, will that do?

Loops I did complain about one of the MWs off my community team to my real MW - this was the one who, at my first MW appt, did not bother to tell me what the blood tests were actually for. Which, given that they were for HIV, hepatitis and other potentially life-altering conditions, was well out of order. My own MW was very good about me complaining and agreed with me; I still worry slightly that the crap MW is going to be the one that shows up at my house when I am in labour - if she does I'm going to change my mind and go into the MW-led unit as there's no way I'm letting her deliver. The reason I complained though was exactly the same as yours - I know pretty much what to expect and have read up on it and can shout if I don't like it. Others may not and I don't see why they should get a shit service because I didn't speak up.

It is so, so nice to see all my old chums from the mc thread arriving in here. I do feel like we've all gone through this together, as there was a bunch of us who arrived around the same time. :)

littlemiss72 · 08/05/2011 10:47

Hi Ladies, i hope your all keeping well. Wink

Just reading your post apple I've also been measuring bigger, in fact 3+ weeks which apparently puts me at the top end of flippin huge! Both the MW's I've seen haven't given it much attention..in fact at my last appointment she just said everyone's different deal with it more or less.. the cow. I did wonder about a scan Hmm Hope all is ok and you get to see your little one for a wave. x

Owlbooty good for you speaking up! Your right about the next person just putting up with a shoddy service. I was a little surprised to find out the MW's I see fortnightly are not the same as the ones on the delivery ward! Where the sense in that eh? so you see these people week in week out and then on D Day you get a complete stranger. Needless to say I kicked off and got a private MW to attend the birth. Not sure they like me much at the local surgery..lol

Maternity leave has been uneventful so far, I want to clean everything but my size is restricting me somewhat. Good news is I have a big delivery tomorrow from John Lewis.. pram, cot, car seat, moses basket, clothes, bedding ..the full works all arriving! I shall spend today getting the spare room ready Grin

Hope you all have lovely plans for Sunday! Love to all x

AlbaDeTamble · 08/05/2011 12:01

Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday LittleMiss, good to see you on mat leave and posting again Smile

Daisybell1 · 08/05/2011 12:03

Morning ladies

How is everyone today?

Hurrah for nesting, that's what I say Apple. I started at 4+0 and am still going. Mind you, its difficult with the constant farmer filth and being surrounded by dead MIL's stuff. I'm hauling stuff out left right and centre - if anyone wants a tea set please PM me - we're on 6 and counting....

Loops I also hear you about your MW, and as Pink says, I thought that this was supposed to be the ultimate compassionate profession. Clearly not!

Nix so glad you're feeling better, a new day and all that! I am in complete awe of you managing with DS and OH away - tough cookie Grin

My head stuff seems to be calming down at bit at the moment, thank god. Although I don't know if that is due to me coming to terms with everything, or whether its because I'm shit scared petrified of the psychiatric appointment in a week's time.

Nix I'm sooo with you on the names thing - girl's name is sorted (ironic given that it is the thought of a girl that completely freaks me out) but boys names are just 'bleugh'. (and the Baby Names board is just soooo bitchy scary...)

Here's a random question for you all: would this be ok for a potential girl's room (given that I am a car nut, drive a canary yellow classic car and navigate on motor rallies) or is it a bit too 'really wanted a boy and am in denial' Hmm (don't fret, I'm not being over-confident, just trying to challenge my mental state to get to the bottom of my anxiety).

Oh dear, that was a bit me me me, wasn't it? Oops

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 16:53

daisy I love that blind, it's really sweet! I think it would be fine for both a girl or a boy.

I agree about names - we've got a girl's name and a boy's name but I love the girl's name sooo much and feel a bit more meh about the boy's name.

I am having a proper strop over here - how come everyone else in the world can feel their baby moving and I can't?????? Ok I know that's a slight exaggeration but I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and I've decided that the bubbling I'd been feeling can't have been the baby as I haven't felt it again for about 3 weeks. Apparently my placenta's at the top and slightly anterior but seriously, some kind of reassurance that the baby isn't actually dead would be nice Confused

Argh I am in a properly shite mood today. I live in a terrace and the tenants next door have got a dog. This used to be fairly annoying as they used to make a whining noise at it so it would whine back and you'd get to a stage where you couldn't tell whether it's them or the dog. However, it has now discovered how to howl and bark, and does it all day. It's brilliant Confused

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 16:55

loopy crossed posts - am sending your baby vibes to hurry itself along this evening while DH is at home!!! Sounds like a good plan about MW - having one that says herself she is afraid of attending your birth doesn't exactly sound like a recipe for a nice relaxed labour..... xx

Velvetcu · 08/05/2011 17:11

Pink I'm really sorry if I've caused your strop, I didn't mean to upset anyone :( :(

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 17:14

velvet honey you didn't cause my strop - have had non-stop texts from my friends who have had babies "have you felt it move yet?" - no, "do you know what you're having?" - no "really, why on early not" arghghghghghghg Plus I am in a bad mood anyway because of stupid next door dog, and a healthy dash of hormones. Sorry sorry sorry if you thought it was you, I promise it wasn't!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 17:14

"EARTH not" even....

Daisybell1 · 08/05/2011 17:18

pink you're not the only one!

I'm 21 and a bit, and I can't tell reliably if anything I've felt has been baby movements. A few weeks ago I had bizarre muscle spasms in my bits as though I'd just had a big O Blush since then nothing. I had a random few spasms today but nowhere logical, unless its done a somersault.

So its not just you!!! Frustrating, isn't it?

Thanks for the thoughts on the fabric, Loops I'm sure it isn't something you've done. I'm so sorry your OH is going to be working away - when is he back? And I agree about your CMW - shouldn't she be passing your care on to someone else if she doesn't feel confident. Act within your limits and all that!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 08/05/2011 17:25

daisy obviously not glad you haven't felt movement but glad to hear I'm not the only one that either has a lazy baby or is completely oblivious to what's going on!! To be honest, if I think back to the way it's behaved on all the scans I've seen, it spends its life curled up asleep, so maybe I shouldn't be so concerned.... On a different topic, have you seen this? link sooooo sweet and it would sort-of match the fabric!

Velvetcu · 08/05/2011 17:35

Pink I'm sure you'll be happy to have a lazy baby when it arrives! Imagine that, sleeping through the night, naps in the day time Grin Mine doesn't behave at scans and jumps all around the screen - it will be interesting to see if it is an indication of what they will be like.

daisy I love that material too! If I have a girl I will definately be tomboying her up so I wouldnt worry about that! I got a letter through from the mental health midwife in the week - she wants me to go and see her so please let me know how your appointment goes coz I'm a bit scared about it although I know I should get myself sorted.

I'm definately not nesting, I can't see that that will ever happen for me. I'm just not really interested in housey stuff Confused

nickstermum · 08/05/2011 18:47

Pink, I was nearly 22 weeks when I started to feel reg movements xx am sure is fine

Loopy fx you can hold out til the weekend when dh is home xx

Catch up later x

DoubleDiffedDachs · 08/05/2011 18:49

pink my twins are very wriggly on scans but I haven't felt them at all. And I have no bump. I don't look or feel at all pg and it's beginning to get really depressing! I did however buy some really cute outfits earlier from the Disney store, so I'm ungrumpy for now!

owlbooty · 08/05/2011 19:06

Oi Pink - I first felt something vague at about 16 weeks then bugger all for weeks and weeks after that. Even now, at 27 weeks, some days I hardly feel him moving at all. Even when I use it as an excuse to have an iced coffee. Grin Having said that, when he does get going I can see him moving around, even through the anterior placenta. But that didn't start happening until the last couple of weeks. Right now he's practicing kick boxing I think.

Loops Hoorah for your excellent plan - boo that you've had to make the plan in the first place!

Daisy two important things: 1. that is an ace blind. I am deliberately not buying Owlet anything overtly Boy decorated so I am kind of doing the opposite to what you're doing :) and 2. PLEASE do not worry about the appt. It's just another step towards a calm, relaxed pregnancy that you can enjoy - which is the big goal :) If they're good then they will support you. If they're shit then you never need to go back Grin
