Full support extra spying on bean scans Grin

Am seeing doc again later so will get another sneaky peek at the dachspups too :)

Envy of another cooked person, but yay for loopy - hope you don't have the traumatic time ivy had! :)

DoubleDiffedDachs · 05/05/2011 08:50

(but I hope you have a nice, relatively untraumatic birth like ivy)

Youremindmeofthebabe · 05/05/2011 09:37

ivy Lovely birth story. It makes me all fuzzy inside.

loopy I can't believe it is happy cooked day. It's all gone so fast and slow too!. Good luck Mrs, I'll be here with jolls with the brie and champagne..

YouremindmeofthebBFP · 05/05/2011 09:39

Like my name change, btw? Baby seemed too presumptious.

YouremindmeofthebBFP · 05/05/2011 09:40

Oh bugger I've just spelt it wrong.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/05/2011 09:49

I know I'm only 10+5 and still in full on mentalling mode but I've been lurking so thought I'd pop in and say hello

ivy I read your birth story and it sounded lovely - congrats!!

loopy happy due date to you, Envy Smile hope you're not waiting too much longer now

dachs best of luck with appt later (lucky you getting to see the pups again!) and pink I hope you manage to sort out what you want scan-wise

yrmotb love the name change Grin

VivClicquot · 05/05/2011 11:14

Oh ivy - your birth sounds lovely. Am so glad it worked out so well after the tough time you've had over the last couple of weeks. And don't they say that babies born in their waters are considered lucky?

Happy due date loopy - can't wait to hear your news x

Congrats to all those with good scans and also to our new ladies - I love that so many familar names are joining the list, and that our lovely little home continues to go from strength to strength.

As for me, P is absolutely amazing and I find myself in a constant state of wonder that we managed to create something so perfect. She's feeding and sleeping really well and we're just loving every second of being parents. It makes me particularly excited for all of you pregnant with 'first' babies that you've got all this currently unknown wonder to come. :)

nickstermum · 05/05/2011 11:46

Aw Viv

YRMOT....bean???

YEY for Izz...

I would have thought it is likely to be about gender terminations Pink why else? Still find that shocking tbh.

Nowt new here... had a great week at the beach, have come home, back at work for 2 days and I am exhausted already. Spinning from the amount of crap my client is quite literally throwing at me - hourly... from 4 different sources... emotional and had quite a severe melt down last night resulting in a phone row with DH - who is 4 hours away!! Fretting about the high level of uncertainty around where we will be living/moving house/mat leave or rather the teensy amount i will be able to take, and just general shite...add to that DH was a bit ghastly after pre-school and i seem to have turned into more shouty than normal shouty mummy :(

Anyway, hey ho... tis what it is, im lucky enough to be expecting baby number two and for that i am very very grateful, i just wish things were a little more straightforward thats all....

God i sound f*cking miserable.. sorry!

Velvetcu · 05/05/2011 20:18

aww thats a lovely story Ivy

happy dd loopy strange to think that we "met" almost a year ago isnt it?

Viv glad you are enjoying it - I'm a first timer too :-)

helloooo yrmotb wow you are brave being in here! I'm still in lurk mode!

nicks sorry you are feeling a bit down at the moment. It's understandable that you are finding things difficult so dont be too hard on yourself.

Hope you are all good. I might be ready to join the list soon! Arrghhh.

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 05/05/2011 20:35

I'm not staying - just popping in and outGrin

I just find it quite inspirational.

nix I'll do bean next, after a scan.

PinkFondantFancy · 05/05/2011 22:41

nix I started a thread to ask if anyone knew why and it all turned a bit controversial so I ran away!! Grin huge hugs nice lady, you've got a huge amount on your plate, it's no wonder you're feeling a bit wobbly. Xxxx

YRMOTB love the new name!! In response to your post on the other thread BTW, I'm impressed that you think any of us are calm but I can assure you that I exhausted myself I was mentalling so hard. We all know how it feels xxx

viv it's lovely to hear that things are going so well for you.

I just found out that another one of my friends is diffed-this is brilliant!!!

In other news, I have turned into a snail today, it is disgusting Blush

PMSL Pink... post the thread, so i can have a ganders Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 06/05/2011 08:52

Urgh nix Grin Grin it is called ''Watford won't tell me the sex of my baby' under pregnancy. I genuinely wanted to know if there are any good reasons for non-disclosure of gender but I am actually quite embarrassed that there's a thread I started that has decended into madness... I'd just like to say for the record-of course when I have my full anomaly scan I will be massively relieved if the baby is ok (as you all know I have been mentalling quite hard about it) but if, during the course of the scan the sonographer can see the sex, I'd like to know. ANYWAY someone did say something that, although I'd like to believe it's not true, probably explains it-apparently at a hospital that did say genders, women were having 'falls' and needing emergency scans were they only cared about the gender and whether it was still the same, rather than if the baby is still alive. Since they've stopped telling genders, suddenly there's a massive drop in emergency scans needed. How bad is that??? If that's the choice, I'd definitely much rather not know the gender and be able to have an emergency scan if I needed it.

SORRY FOR THREAD HIJACK!! hope you're all well, I've left bacon sarnies for everyone on the side xx

PinkFondantFancy · 06/05/2011 08:55

Oh and loopy yep it's snail trail tastic-naaaasty!! Grin

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 06/05/2011 10:16

loopy sorry your cmw is being rubbish and generally unhelpful. makes me feel all the more lucky and grateful to have had such brilliant care here.

PFF I've heard that before, and also that some hospitals don't tell you because they are in areas where there more of certain ethnic groups who wouldn't hesitate to have a termination based on the sex, although it's quite difficult to get a termination on the NHS at that stage..

little wave from me, slouching on the sofa, watching lion king and sobbing because simba's dad just died :(

UrbanLolly · 06/05/2011 15:50

Off today been giving living room the final coat of paint a job which dh and dad had thought they had finished!!!! Made dh take the day off......am very pleased with my handy work.....just a few areas that still need a touch up but will leave that for another day.....after lunch dh made me sit and watch a doc I missed as I was on the late shift yesterday...... I thought it was fab....all about conception etc called inside the human body: creation. Did anyone else catch it??
Off to do a quick tidy before the wee man arrives in. Catch up properly later. X

owlbooty · 06/05/2011 16:37

Oooh, yes, I saw it. And wept like a muppet when those two ladies delivered. I am turning into a massive pile of hormonal gibbering. Damnit!!

What you need, missus, is a bloody massive sleep, followed by a mug of builder's tea and a packet of chocolate hobnobs. I also feel like shite today - zero energy, massive to-do list hanging over my head, house looks like a bombsite, garden looks like the amazon rainforest and I have no ability to do anything about it - how you lot with a child/children already manage I don't know but you are awesome and deserve medals!

I can't believe Owlet is due in 13 weeks' time. How the effing eff did that happen so quickly??

PinkFondantFancy · 06/05/2011 19:22

loops I'm sorry about your CMW being painful :( is there anything you can do this weekend to encourage things along?

lolly what channel was it on, it sounds fab!

owly nice to have you back lovely, hope you had a fantastic holiday!

Arse, was just leaving work today but got nabbed on the way out to be told as of Monday I am now working on a super responsible, important scary job for the next few months Confused

However, in good news, we had an offer accepted on the house we really like!!! Now all we need is for the vendors to hurry up and find something they like and move out! It's going to be hard to get it done in time though, and I'm assuming I can't get a mortgage on maternity leave, unless anyone knows any better???

DoubleDiffedDachs · 06/05/2011 19:32

pink it was on BBC1 and it was fab! Grin

Glad to hear about the house offer - I'll keep my FX it all works out nice and quickly for you :)

nickstermum · 06/05/2011 21:57

Aw thanks owl my garden too looks like that, and in this weather is slightly overwhelming also!! 13 weeks bejesus! fully cooked in......oooh just over 10 weeks......Grin Shock Hmm Grin

pink, yey for the house move, not sure if you can get away without telling the mortgage co? How do they know you wont get 12 months full pay?!?! I would push the vendor to vacate ASAP if you are first time buyer... get the mortgage sorted before ML.

Me&myshadow are back together tonight... DH arrived home to DS running outside, down the drive in just a Tshirt and nowt else screaming "Daddy, Daddy...I love you" and glueing himself to him....that was after telling me i was horrid/didnt love me and generally being a monster!! [proud emoticon]

UrbanLolly · 06/05/2011 22:18

ivy your birth story was really lovely....thanks for sharing......hope everything is going well. I can't wait to get some baby cuddles.....
loopy yeah! For fully cooked, 10 more weeks till I get there seems so close yet so far, but can't quite believe where the time has gone iykwim
nix sorry you had a crap day hopeing today was a bit brighter for you.....it's crap all the worry u go through when things are all up in the air.....but I'm a firm believer that it all works its self out in the end.!
Know what you mean regarding the snail trail pink!!!!! Excellent news re house maybe not so re extra work....sorry no clue about mortages & maternity but would think if you are on a permanent contract it shouldn't be a prob....
Dh off to pub sitting flicking channels with my bottle of gaviscon....how ones life changes!!

UrbanLolly · 06/05/2011 22:21

X post nix hope you and your shadow have a lovely evening,

Thanks dacha I watched it last night-it was AMAZING!!! the part about the sperm's journey was the most interesting bit I think, especially the woman's White blood cells eating them!

nix sweet story about your DS :) hope you are having a lovely relaxing weekend and that you get to put your feet up for a little bit at least.

lolly Grin at your glamorous Friday night at home!!

loops am so :( for you that you've been lumbered with an arse of a MW. I can't understand why some people who clearly haven't got any 'calling' or empathy with people end up in professions like medicine. L
