or going to view some houses, that should say.....

OrangeGloss · 25/04/2011 09:42

Pink too right a promise is a promise and he should know better than to mess with a pg woman!

PinkFondantFancy · 25/04/2011 09:52

Grin well I think he's just had a lesson in how mental a stressed pregnant woman can be...... Anyway he's realised that I need a bit of hand holding at the mo and has agreed to come back this afternoon to be with me. So I guess he does get it afterall. :)

Cattleprod · 25/04/2011 09:54

PinkFF I'd happily come house hunting with you - I love having a nose around other people's properties!!

Thankyou for all the lovely messages and advice - I've been keeping clear of the mc board, and I've only popped back on my antenatal club thread a couple of times since I left. I don't feel any bitterness towards them anyway, or that I 'should' be there still. The thread that is driving me towards craziness is that bloody 'count the kicks' one. I know it's important to be aware, but it's now on my 'threads I'm on' list, and you know when your mind says 'no' but your fingers find themselves clicking on stuff anyway....Grin I should just hide it.

So now that I've crawled my way out of the black hole (for now anyway) I'll say a more cheery hello to you all! I'm trying to get to know all your names and due dates etc. I'm due at the end of October - anyone else due around then?

Also I'm wondering who 'Totally' is? And did this series of threads used to be 'knicker checkers anonymous', or was that something similar from the dim distant past?

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather - supposed to be a bit cooler today which will be a bit of a relief!

AlbaDeTamble · 25/04/2011 10:07

Hi Cattle, to quote from Meita's intro to the postgrads thread:
Totally's original thread was for TTC after MC. It continued long after Totally herself graduated, and is still going strong. Totally's grads was set up as a thread for pregnancy post MC - i.e. anyone who graduated from Totally's thread and anyone else who had experienced MC and was now pregnant. It, too, is still going strong.

Totally had her baby, Faith, in February 2010 and since then the list of babies from this thread is long - what's happening with the list, haven't seen one in a while!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 25/04/2011 10:25

we all seem to be too scared and lazy busy to do one every day ;)

Orange, impressed, very practical indeed! I'm going hunting later in the week I'll keep you posted. I am awful at parking and struggle with our passat so i'm hoping to get something smaller that still has a bit of room.

Hope Owl is having fun on her hols and gorging herself on chocolate! I've had enough of chocolate for now though after yesterday.

We are still struggling on the names front. I like LOADS of girl's names but can't find any boys. Still only have one name but am dreading that the wee man arrives and it just doesn't suit him. DD has an old Irish name and I had avoided going down the route again, in case we became cliched, but might need to have a wee look because we need some alternatives. I'm going to check out that app you mentioned Orange.

Ivy don't know what else to say to you mate, you must be pure scunnered (good old Scottish word!). I'm really feeling for you just now.

Pink my DH got drunk at our easter BBQ yesterday, which was only a problem when we retired to bed and the instant his head hit the pillow the most obnoxious and ridiculous snoring commenced. So I evicted him to the guest room and he went banging and slamming doors. Your DH might just have topped that though by going to have a play with a toy!! LOL!! Glad he has come to his senses, happy house hunting!

Anyway, I'm off to pack my hospital bag, which i've been putting off for some reason. Before I go here's a wee list for Alba - the only problem with leaving it for days is there's a much great margin for error adding on loads of days. That's my excuse anyway, sorry - I have a feeling I have made an arse of it! I've taken Osch off, hope that's ok. Anyone heard from Littlemiss or LucyS recently? I think there may be a few MIA on there, inbetweener, Urban or Wobble??

Thanks also for all the very accurate list updating....hats off to all you ladies!!!!!!
It's also fantastic to see the list getting longer & with so many familiar names.

So all is good with me getting bigger everyday, had to get my anti-d injection today and they took some bloods forgot to ask what for, guessing iron levels anyway.... Quick scan also all looking good baby with head down and measuring approx 3 pounds!! My ds was 8 days over and 8lb 11oz so slightly anxious about size.
Been working today so knackered will try and catch up more in the morning.

I am channelling my hypnobirthing sense of calm as we speak... Wink

appleblossoms · 26/04/2011 07:32

Sorry for meme post, but feeling slightly nervous this morning. I had a lot of pains low down in my pelvis over the weekend and last night I actually felt the baby move, I guess his head, below my pant line. Had a few crampy pains in the night and this morning it's just uncomfy. Is this normal??
With ds he was only 1/5 engaged even the day before he was born, and I don't remember this pressure feeling at all.
Don't want this uncomfortableness for the next 7 weeks, but equally don't want a prem baby...haven't even thought about hospital bag yet?! Just freaking out a little...

toomuchteaching · 26/04/2011 12:53

Hijack from the other side... loopy can you have a look at my Calin Bleu thread again, need your advice!

Waves all... hope bumpland is fabulous... I do kind of miss it sometimes!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 26/04/2011 19:24

quick wave from me, crappy day, have a fred in chat if anyone wants to know details. sigh.
At least I can make a mean chicken pie.

Cattleprod · 26/04/2011 19:52

appleblossoms does it feel a bit like someone is gently rotating a brillo pad on your cervix? If so I had this with DS for quite a while before he was born, and he turned out to have a full head of hair! Maybe your baby is a hairy one too!!

Sorry you're having a crappy day Ivy.

loopy I do like the term cuddly but think I should perhaps lay off ds's chocolate!! Yeah! For nursery and weekday routines, my ds is off till next wed....2 whole weeks!!
apples no expert but....can't 2nd babies bob in and out of the pelvis?!?! Like you I have no experience of that pressure feeling as ds still wasn't in place at 10cm dilation resulting in alot of bouncing on birth ball.. Hope you get some relief soon
ivy hope your day improved....sorry couldn't find your other Fred!!
Nice day out and about today picnic at a forest park, got totally lost in a maize, never follow a group of adults there all crap, follow the 10 yearolds if you want out quick!!!! Then ds and I fell asleep on way home, finished off in pizza express yummy! Back to the land of work, roll on Sunday.

Hope you all have a good day tomorrow x

OrangeGloss · 27/04/2011 07:09

apples sorry to hear you're uncomfortable, I don't know about these sort of things, would the post-grads thread help? How are you feeling today?

I think you'd just got your BFP when I joined the mc thread. Your day out sounds awesome

Viv I can imagine the list looks scary. But from my place in the middle I'd love to be up there!

Back at work for 3 days :( miniorange kept me entertained yesterday, I'd love a window to see what it's up to in there :) we're buying a M&P cotbed from another friend for £40, will wait and have a look at mattresses but want to take advantage of the deal. Stay away jinx pixies

Daisybell1 · 27/04/2011 07:33

Morning all

If I'm feeling brave enough, can I go on the list this evening? I have my 20week scan today - FX all's well.

Ivy I saw your other thread - I'm afraid I don't have anything useful to add about how to cope as this is DC1, but I can empathise with you - I'm also in a remote village where I don't really know anyone, and as OH's a farmer, he's in and out constantly during the day. I think I'd be lost without him around. Sorry, I realise that this may not be making you feel better, but I just wanted to let you know there are others of us out there. I'm sure things will be brighter once LO's here and you can get around easier.

Orange I have a way of dealing with the jinx pixies - they are not allowed to take notice of any second hand or sale bargains - the thrift fairies (a bit like mini Alvin Halls? Hmm ) beat them off and keep them at bay with their broomsticks Grin

PinkFondantFancy · 27/04/2011 08:15

ivy sorry you're having a hard time. I don't have any advice but I can completely understand why you're feeling the way you do, it's a bit like you were both working from home together before. I didn't read the whole thread but is there anyone that could have the DCs for maybe an afternoon a week while you do something for you once the little one's arrived, maybe get an allotment or do some volunteer work? Sorry if that's stupid or trite, maybe I should have read the thread first.... [cblush]

orange glad miniorange is moving about. I've changed my mind that I can feel pinkbean moving, maybe it's lots of gas.... Meh, fingers crossed in the next few weeks I'll get something more definitive.... Good work on the bargain hunting. Hehehehehe I love daisy's theory that the thrift fairies beat up the jinx pixies and keep them at bay [cgrin] [cgrin]

I woke up and puked this morning - how weird is that at 18 weeks????!?!

DoubleDiffedDachs · 27/04/2011 16:04

You've all been v quiet today so I thought I'd post some news and wake you all up. I had a scan today to find out what flavour the twins were (also couldn't wait another 3 weeks to find out whether they were still alive or not!)

Looks like DH will get his way - we are having one of each!

[cgrin]

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 27/04/2011 18:32

yay dachs that's lovely (although, any flavour would have been :) )

about to do a thread about this, but just wondered... anyone still get bump envy when others announce pregnancies? 4 people have told me they are pregnant in the last week, and I keep feeling Envy Hmm

OP posts:
PinkFondantFancy · 27/04/2011 18:49

ivy yes yes yes yes YES that is totally me! I'm so glad someone else has this too - I was starting to think I was being ridiculous. Last time I checked I am in fact diffed too so I can't see why I would be jealous!!! I especially get it when they announce at, say, 6 weeks. I don't know why, as of course I don't wish a MC on them. I guess maybe it's because it feels a bit arrogant, especially when they know of several MCs that have happened to family and friends, and it's like they believe they are somehow different to everyone else. Or maybe it's because they are more rational than me, and having people excited about their pregnancy at 6 weeks doesn't freak them out as much as it would me.

dachs just wanted to say on this thread too - fantastic news lovely lady!!!
