mmmhmm lots of cake in the oven.

DS has the devil in him today and is being somewhere between cheeky and absolutely insufferable, bless him. don't think he likes the heat much.

Hello all. Re: light hearted pram chatter - I ordered mine at the weekend :) Bugaboo donkey - it's so pretty! I know it's way too early but I wanted it! (John Lewis are going to keep it until we're ready for it, which will be a while as I'm only 16 weeks!)

Feeling totally exhausted all the time and am looking forward to the dachspups becoming a bump, which they don't seem to want to do at the moment. And although they are wriggling away in there they don't seem to want to be felt either. Does it become more reassuring when you can feel them move?

Doc is on holiday for the next two weeks, so I need to try not to chuck myself down any more stairs for a while as won't have anyone to call and cry at until I get a scan to reassure me.

mamapower · 20/04/2011 19:50

Hi all,

I've been reminded it's about time I join the big girls... thank you preeeeeety Grin

So here I am but be warned, for those who don't know me, I've also just moved and starting up a new business so at the mo only getting on here once a week or less! Hopefully things will calm down soon and I can get to know everyone I don't already.

When someone does the list can I be added in please? Baby#1 17 weeks EDD 28 September Thanks v much.

Back soon Smile

nickstermum · 20/04/2011 21:37

YEY for team yellow orange x me too x

Blardy nora, freak out room is rammed these days! Just cant keep up Grin
Dachs it gets much more reassuring when you can feel movement. Rest assured :) I am not due for a doppler fix til 28 weeks - thats 8 weeks since the last one......Confused but its wriggling away in there.....so im not overly concerned.

Back later,.. packing for hols x

PinkFondantFancy · 21/04/2011 06:17

Woe that cake looks amazing!! Definitely keen to give that one a go!

ivy hope you're doing ok

mamap you're here!!! Yay! Was feeling lonely without my twin! Sorry you are having such a staffing crisis, that really does suck, it's the last thing you need :( have you got a malfunctioning wardrobe too? None of my usual trousers or skirts will even fit over my thighs so no potential for ingenius hair elastic concoctions, but maternity trousers still too baggy really-they're fine as long as I don't try and walk anywhere fast Grin

dachs can sympathise with the tiredness. Any chance of working from home a day a week? I found that was a lifesaver.

nix I have a box of choccie fingers and a cream donut in the fridge for today's consumption Grin hmmm suddenly the cause of the clothing crisis becomes clear..... Grin hope you have a great weekend
on the coast, I think the weather's going to be perfect for it.

Ooooh excitingly am feeling the scratchy bubbles most days now!! Grin Grin so reckon it is pink bean rather than gas. It gets around though-this morning it must be properly buried in my pelvis, it's probably still working on digging the escape tunnel that it was working so hard on at the 12 week scan. It's going to be team yellow here too Confused NHS trust refuses to tell you even if they can see what sex the baby is. Not a big deal, I'm just really curious to know!! DH convinced it's a boy, I think a girl.... Grin

OrangeGloss · 21/04/2011 07:17

Penguin belated congrats :) and glad she's feeding well
Eggy I hope you're feeling better now, I don't think it would have caused any damage but hopefully your MW has reassured you
Welcome to the thread Emzlou nice to see you whilst you wait to join the list
Apples what a lovely sensitive dh you have I'm sure he'll be understanding
Viv how is the crawling going? Fx it's done the trick
Ivy I don't envy you with MIL poor thing :(
Nix I've had the sore fanjo thing, it seemed to go after about a week, I hope yours does too. Have you decided when to start your mat leave? Miniorange tends to like my right side meaning I'm often lopsided :)
Good news that all ok with Owlet and doesn't seem like any naughty-ness this time?
Moo what an awful MW Angry they should be there for your support not to make you feel silly
Loopy sorry to see you've been having such a rough time and hope you're feeling a bit better
Daisy I know very little but recently bought a second hand travel system. I did buy a new mattress for the carrycot online which was about 15, but apart from that I love it. Maybe go to a shop and check if they fit in your boot, we have a Ford Focus and can just get ours in! That's my baby knowledge exhausted
Dachs good news on the pram/pushchair purchase. I saw those they look fab!
Pink yay for bubbles, tis very exciting. Good to see another team yellow with you and Nix too :)

Phew long post but I'd missed so much! What do you ladies think about kick counting/pattern noticing? I'm trying to work out when to start paying attention, but remember my MW and Owl saying don't be too worried at this stage. Hmmm. I'm at the stage where it's addictive, I wait for the next kick as it's so yummy Grin

loopy it was released to the market this month :) (And I believe they've already sold out in the US) And yes, it's not cheap. But it's pretty and it's practical and after what we've spent on getting pg in the first place we decided there was no point trying to save money on the pram when i liked the bugaboo so much. £1,270 (before car seats - includes the chassis, two seat units, two carry cots and a twin car seat adaptor, plus rain covers and sun covers for the carry cots and the seats. Doesn't include the cup holder you can buy to attach to the handle). Blush

pink excited by your bubbleness :) Makes me think I might start feeling the pupkins soon :)

mamap FAB to see you here :) Sorry your staffing situation is troubling :(

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 21/04/2011 10:10

Happy due date indeed ivy

loopy - MrDachs only wants two, unfortunately. But I might be able to change his mind Wink

At least the twins will be comfortable, I hope :)

Feels kind of strange buying the pram when I still don't feel like anything is happening (although my jeans apparently no longer fit so I'm sitting here with them undone as it didn't occur to me that they felt a bit tight until I was sitting at my desk at work). Maybe the bump will appear soon :)

randomimposter · 21/04/2011 10:20
DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/04/2011 10:36

sorry jolls :( You can come round and have a play with it though :)

(I agree - it's a silly name. But it's a cool pram :) )

OrangeGloss · 21/04/2011 11:30

Happy due date Ivy

Dachs I do admire your choice it does look awesome, maybe MrDachs will come round to another :) I bet it won't be long before your pups are booting you good and proper. I appreciate your situation money-wise, why not get what you want, we'll be splurging on some things ourselves. Thanks for the kind words on the other thread they're appreciated :)

I also forgot to say thanks to everyone here for being understanding, twas an emotional day yesterday

Aresnal fan?

Mamap I missed your post, welcome to the this side of the journey. Sorry you're having trouble. Don't forget you can still freak out here too!

OrangeGloss · 21/04/2011 11:31
randomimposter · 21/04/2011 11:34

Orange, no am a perpetually unHappy Hammer, but used to go to Highbury a fair bit if West Ham were away as had close mates who were Gooners. That was in the last century before Arsenal became francais... Grin

VivClicquot · 21/04/2011 11:48

Morning!

I'm gonna do a list to mark ivy's due date (yay!) and also the addition of mamap- not least because today is my last day in the office and so I'm faffing and faffing and faffing before I get to walk out of here this afternoon for the last time for 11 months. Woooooo. Grin

orange - the crawling appears to have done precisely bugger all as MiniV still seems quite high. Sigh. To be fair though, it seems crawling around the office isn't deemed as appropriate, so I can only get some all-fours action (fnarrr) in at night.... Wink

jolls - I'm not a fan of stinky cheese, but you can stock up on some mature cheddar for me, if you like - albeit I don't think you'll be cracking it open for another 3 weeks at least.

Did a search for Osch btw and I don't think she's been on MN for months, but it seems rude to remove her. Any thoughts? And any news from our three other Waiting-to-Joiners? [/list nazi emoticon]

I love your purchasing justification, Dachs and fully approve. I think you should buy two cup holders to go with it Grin

Also, you wait. Give it another couple of weeks and I promise you none of your clothes will fit properly!

On the plus side, the later MiniIvy is, the longer this 'ere brie I've got waiting for you is maturing. Mmm, stinky runny brie.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/04/2011 12:51

jolls what did your postcode prediction exercise come up with?

PinkFondantFancy · 21/04/2011 13:12

dachs reckon you'll definitely start to feel something soon. And I am predicting a stressful morning before work coming up imminently where you officially have nothing at all that fits and you have to go in wearing some ridiculous combination of frankly unsuitable clothes and go on an emergency clothes shopping trip at lunchtime (this is how I was outed.....) I showed DH the donkey, he wanted it even though we're only having one Grin I don't think that will be happening somehow! hehehe it is very cool. You should definitely get the cup holder though, what were you thinking???? :)

ivy congratulations on your due date!

loops half price champers???????? Ooooh I'm going to buy some and hide it somewhere where DH can't find it Grin

jolls and dachs ooooh can I play postcode prediction too????? My opening bid is.............. Hungerford. What do you reckon???!?!?!?

DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/04/2011 14:51

right county, too far west though :)

pink I had to do the emergency shopping trip this morning - a mercy dash to M&S after my trousers became officially too uncomfortable to carry on wearing Blush

I would have ordered the cup holder but JL don't have it on their parts list so I'll have to order it from Bugaboo or somewhere else on the internet! :)
