Fabulous news clare, so glad he's here safely, enjoy these first hours. I too love name. Looking forward to hearing more and seeing you on the postgrads thread at 3 in the morning like the rest of us!

AlbaDeTamble · 10/02/2011 16:46

Congratulations Clare, lovely name too. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully a little bit of sleep Smile

Gonnabe · 10/02/2011 16:50

Amazing news Clare what a super name! Enjoy the snuggles xx

Mamapower · 10/02/2011 17:46

Clare Congratulations on the arrival of your Tobias Smile

CaribouMoo · 10/02/2011 20:02

Clare huge congratulations to you and your family, I'm so happy for you and welcome to the world Toby!! When I saw your message on FB and his gorgeous picture I had to run to the loo at work to cry happy tears!

I know I'm hormonal and all that but I really feel emotional after the journey we've been on together. We MC around the same time, were cycle buddies then got BFPs within a month of each other, albiet mine sadly wasn't to be. We've all been through such a difficult time that its just amazing to see things work out well and hear some happy news. Over the moon for you!

Again though Louise there isn't a happy thought that goes past without thinking of you and Georgie. Just hoping you get another chance at happiness soon.

8s, you had me going for a while! Thought we were in for a double celebration. Although no news from ba8y or Lotta yet?

G1lda I used to do that with DD too, poke her to make sure she was alright when she was enjoying a lovely sleep. Then curse myself if she woke and I couldn't settle her. Oh the things we do! Buffs hope J survived the jabs, at least he can't give you that awful look yet, despairing of how you could let them hurt him!

SameOldJollster · 10/02/2011 20:02

clareanna have seen the pic on FB, what a handsome chap. And you are obviously totally in control posting photos so soon after a rather major op!!! Love and big squeeze to you and Mr CA and Big Bro.

Lotta123 · 10/02/2011 21:41

Congratulations Clareanna. Lovely name.

Congratulations Clareanna, so happy for you x x x

crochetcircle · 11/02/2011 08:04

Hello all,

Just a quickie as I'm on my phone. Congrats to clare first of all! Lovely name.

Had 20 week scan on Tuesday and it's a girl! Massive surprise as had convinced myself it was a boy. I'm really pleased and think I might even relax for a few weeks!

Apples I've been having BH too. It's my first so no idea if this is early/late. The monographer said not to worry unless they are painful or regular. I quite like the sudden definition around the baby. I think that's how I'd imagined pregnancy would feel - a little hard ball of baby.

Our house and garden is a building site, new bedroom going on the back of the flat. So far it's on time, to finish in a month. We'll only have the kitchen and redecorating the whole flat to do after that. Impending motherhood is a great motivator I find!

Good luck to all you ladies at the top of the thread.

PenguinsMummy · 11/02/2011 08:38

Conratulations Clareanna - lovely name.

My scan yesterday went well - fluid levels and baby growth completely normal so no idea why I am so big - just too many cakes I think Grin. Doctor measured me at 3 weeks ahead rather than the 5 weeks that the MW thought so think it's all fairly subjective anyway! But big relief that all is well and baby was wriggling around - just have a huge football bump. Grin

clareanna · 11/02/2011 09:34

Morning all! Toby currently snoozing so thought I'd pop on quickly to say thank you for all your good wishes!

Penguin - the c section is very odd- with labour you get those hours of transition where you're actively working towards meeting your baby - with c section you just walk through the door to the theatre!

Birth story- look away now!! Grin
I got a trainee anaethetist who took 7 attempts to get the spinal in.... Not too painful but certainly uncomfortable - back quite bruised now. The theatre staff made the experience very nice, Dh got to see Toby being lifted out, and they left the cord long sp he could trim it. A student nurse took loads of photos for us and they moved the observation cot to next to me so I could see them doing all the checks etc. During the night Toby has been coughing up mucus and old blood which is a bit scary but normal. He is getting his willy checked today as it's a bit swollen... I feel ok - Afterpains as uterus contracts are pretty bad and I've got to start moving around today...urgh. But he is totally completely worth it and I would do it again in a shot!

PenguinsMummy · 11/02/2011 10:22

Good to hear from you Clareanna and sounds like you are in good spirits!

I must admit I do find the whole idea of ELCS all very odd, especially as my labours with DD1&2 were fast and intense. I've had spinals when getting repaired after DD1&2 so hopefully it won't take 7 attempts to get it in!! Although I have "narrow, wriggly veins" apparently so it always takes quite a few gos (and bruises) to get the needle into my hand/arm. But needs must! Grin.

Hope you have lots of lovely cuddles with Toby today Grin

xxx

louisesh · 11/02/2011 13:40

Congrats Clare XXXXXX

Thanks Carib I too really, really.really hope i ll have good news soon.Last night we went back to the delivery ward and saw our lovely midwives .The remembrance book is absolutely gorgeous. We made our family entries and it was lovely to see my possey of midwives. They are so caring and all want to be at my section with GBOS [Georgie's brother or sister].They ve also started spending the remaing charity money on furnishing a room away from the ward for women delivering stillborn babies.

VivClicquot · 11/02/2011 13:56

Ah Louise, that's lovely - it must be really comforting to know that other bereaved mummies will have a nice area to go to in such awful circumstances. Like everyone else, I think of you often and hope you and your family are all doing as okay as you can be xxxx

clare - So glad you're feeling okay. Toby really is a proper little smasher :) xxx

louisesh · 11/02/2011 14:20

clare congratulations, one of my favourite names too Grin

HappyGirl1 · 11/02/2011 18:31

Awh Louise that sounds lovely, such a nice memory of your beautiful Georgie that other mum's will get to have a comforting room when going through such a terrible experience. I literally think of you every single day and look forward soooo much to your good news which is hopefully just around the corner xx

nickstermum · 11/02/2011 19:45

*louise its fab that Georgies charity money will be used in such a helpful way, something very close to your heart. I hope you find that BFP very very soon x

clare hope the feeding well continues and you get home very soon x that many attempts? OOF! Sore!! Nice of them to allow a studentpractice time huh?!

crochet congrats on team pink and a successful 20 week scan xx

penguin glad you have plenty of fluid around the baby and everything seems fine, great news.

Apples good stuff re the pickles. I too love the name branstons :) How many weeks are you now?!

OK Dilemma for you......DH wants to know the sex, i dont. He wants to tell DS as DS is adamant he is a baby sister and feels it will get him used to it. DH cant tell DS and not me.. DS will tell everyone!! hMMMM

Scan today - all great. Baby measuring 8.7cms now size bob on for 14+5 (how has it happened i am 15 weeks on sunday?!)

Placenta is anterior.. that could quite possibly have caused the bleed... i read its more likely?(happy to be corrected, not sure if i am making that up!!) Plenty of fluid around the baby, and no leaks :) i now am far enough along to fall into antenatal rather than epu....whoop!!

Happy end to a shitty week...although 3 days with feet up has been marvellous...xx

nickstermum · 11/02/2011 19:47

Meant to say also hope you have recovered viv from your journey from hols, and that the hb has not resumed!!

loopy i havent yet read your link, but i intend to...!

ooh brain not functioning.....

Waves to everyone moo magic buff and anyone else around this eve xx

CaribouMoo · 11/02/2011 21:32

Nicks that's fab news about the scan, must be such a relief after your horrible scare. I don't know what you can do about the sex dilema. With DD I didn't want to know and DH did (I won). Luckily this time we both did and I have actually found it useful as DD was going on about her sister. In a way I feel I've had time to prepare her and that she won't be disappointed its not another girl. I don't think its possible to let your DH find out without you finding out though!

I'm blooming knackered tonight and have an uncomfortable bump if you know what I mean. Think I'll be hitting the hay soon. Probably not the best time to attempt the list but here goes...

Hi all, I'm one step closer to joining you after my second scan today revealed a little bean with heartbeat Smile This will be my first and I have never made it far enough to see a little heartbeat on a scan and I did cry a few tears (of happiness). my dates have changed from 7+5 to 6+3 confirmed that my late ov caused this huge difference. I am hoping the next 5/6 weeks go by in a flash! Hope you are all well and thanks for keeping me sane this far with your words of wisdom and reassurance Smile
