Hurray! Well done muser fully cooked now! Can you believe it? We've come a long way this past year xx

clareanna · 06/02/2011 11:41

Welcome back viv hope you are tanned and relaxed and that the flight was ok.

Awful news about Amanda Holden- I am so sad for her

Muser · 06/02/2011 11:45

We really have clareanna. Can't believe in a few days you'll be cuddling your baby! Amazing.

I'm ready for this baby to arrive now. We're basically organised. Just my freezer filling to do. And I can live off pasta if needed. I want to meet my baby! Trying not to get too impatient though, there could still be a lot of weeks ahead!

Ba8y1 · 06/02/2011 16:18

Huge congrats dorcas - so exciting!

No news here - can't concentrate on anything so please forgive the lack of namechecking - hope everyone is well?!
NO signs whatsoever of anything at all - soooo fed up. clareanna I suspect you will queue jump on Thursday! Hope it goes well!

Having sweep tomo - am so not a patient person, but since I feel no different than for the last few weeks I do not think if will be successful! Have now switched to telling baby to stay put as it is obviously not the obedient type, but no still no luck!

DH is out buying pineapple and could possibly be encouraged into some naughtiness later - well as much as the spd will allow - rather hilarious attempt a couple of days ago - but that's a whole other thread!

Hope everyone with recent scans/news/ holidays (Envy) is doing well!

Hope to update you v soon! Smile

Congratulations Dorcas on the arrival of your little girl :) Looking forward to more details!

Well done on reaching cookedness Muser !

Welcome back Viv glad you had a great time, I bet the mizog weather has returned your ankles to normal Wink It did feel like spring was in the air on Thursday though :)

Been busy in magicland......Have now been booked for induction on 8/3 as they want to try and leave me until 38 weeks (Angry) although both consultant and midwife giggled and said unlikely as twins are growing at the rate of BIG singleton babies Shock!!! Had a false alarm on Tuesday morning and was on labour ward all day as was having uncomfortable tightenings which were too regular for my liking! Was on CTG most of the day and the tightenings did turn into contractions for a while. Things settled by themselves thankfully but have felt god fecking terrible since. Watched DD swimming yesterday and then went food shopping after....big mistake....I had to go sit in the car once we'd got to about the 6th isle I was so worn out. No chance of me nesting! Although DH is doing a bloody good job of nesting by proxy. Actually DH is like a single parent at the moment love 'im. Also been feeling headachey and sick loads and stomach is all over the place......mind you I couldn't even pin point my tummy or my lungs atm. Twins have def slowed in terms of boxing, just squirms and ripples now there is not much room in there......it's terrible but I wouldn't be sorry if they came early Confused Blush. Sorry for moaning AGAIN. Feel bad especially with such sad news about Amanda Holden :(

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 06/02/2011 16:47

good luck with sweep Ba8y1 !

Lotta123 · 06/02/2011 19:34

dorcas well done you on your marathon, look forward to reading birth story if you feel like sharing. Huge congratulations

Horrible horrible to hear about Amanda Holden, noone is immune to the cruelty of Mother Nature. Both my ds's were born at the same hospital and I have to say they are very lovely there. I'm sure she will be very well looked after and I hope the press leave them alone to grieve in peace. :(

Coming up to 34 wks now, so am starting on the evening Primrose daily. Never know, placebo effect or what but it makes me feel better. :)

Hi to everyone.

Good luck ba8y1 for your sweep.

magic I supported a lady with twins last year who ended up being induced at 40+3 Shock babies wre 7lb and 6lb 9 . Due to better prenatal care and healthier women more and more women are going closer to term with twins.

stuffedmk · 07/02/2011 09:34

Woohoo Dorcas Grin

FX that your sweep gets things moving ba8y

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 10:35

Magic i think its fab you are cooking them so well and are able to take them so near to term date... Well done you :) (even if you do feel fed up, hoooge and want them out!!) And wow...its fab that you are wanting to, and have the chance to try for a normal labour. Best of luck for it. Are you ready for them now....?

Good luck with the sweep baby

Welcome back Viv Grin sad that you didnt bring some of that lovely sunshine with you though :( I feel like my house is going to blow over today!! Hope you had a terrific time but glad to be home x

I too was very saddened by AH terribly sad news at 7 months. I hope she can grieve in peace away from the press.

I am now 14+1 and feeling as rough as a bag of spanners. Cannot wait to be able to hear the hb at some point.. will reassure me considering i keep having recurrent vivid dreams about MMC.. not good. Might just have to invest in a 16 week scan :)

Magic hope you're not too Shock at lia's post - imagine going overdue with them!!!

Just back from my deforestation session - OUCH - is all I can say.
Exchanged another maternity nightie from mothercare - I promise this is the last time... and off to see the King's Speech with my ma this afternoon... 3 days and counting...!

Gonnabe · 07/02/2011 15:47

Hi ladies
I am still off work and slowly driving myself mad - think I might just go back a bit earlier than the doc suggested. plus I keep eating cakes at home -not good!!

nickster I am def going to ask them to listen to the heartbeat at the midwife fingers crossed i get to 16 weeks - I am 13+4 - hopefully soon we will both start to believe that everything is going to be OK. Although the news about Amanda Holden did have me in tears.

DH is back tomorrow evening - i am going nuts on my own here - normally so independent but this pregnancy is turning me into a very needy and hormonal woman.

May be TMI but is anyone else suffering with a distinct lack of pelvic floor muscle?? I am only 13 weeks but i dont think its working anymore... very very worried. Am going to try and do some exercises.. is it too late for me?!

nickstermum · 07/02/2011 16:40

My pelvic floors dont work either :( exercise now all is not lost!

Cake is good

Hiya, Thanks for all the good luck vibes ladies, sweep was possibly the most painful thing I have yet to experience in pg - sorry don't mean to scare anyone, just wondering if it is meant to hurt that much??!!

Unlikely to work as cervix 'unfavourable' apparently - I'm not surprised its gone all shy if they describe it like that! Was lovely to have another scan though, but my chance of going into labour in the next 7-10 days is only 42% and the baby apparently already weighs ~ 8 lbs 12!! HELP!

How's everyone else today? Congrats on your 37wks Muser! Clareanna think you will almost definately be overtaking me on Thurs so hope all goes really well! Nickster I don't think pg gets any less anxiety inducing as it goes on does it? The time before you can feel it is horrid and as soon as I started feeling it move I became paranoid daily that it wasn't moving enough and now I'm paranoid that its been cooking too long...grr... can't see an end to the worry - perhaps when they bugger off to uni!!

Sorry for the rant - not enjoying being overdue AT ALL! Will name check better for next time Blush

(wanders off to obsess over the lack of pelvic floors that have been done over the last 9 mths....)

Hi, thank you for all your lovely messages and congratulations. Sorry I've not been back on sooner, I don't know where the days have gone! I can't believe my little girl is four days old already. She is absolutely gorgeous and we are loving every minute of being parents.
So, for those who are interested in the birth... After my sweep on Wednesday I started having mild contractions/ cramps. Around midnight they really got going, I was contracting every five minutes for about 40 seconds throughout the night, but when morning came they slowed down and became a bit more erratic. They continued throughout the day, but it wasn't until 9.00pm Thursday that they were long enough and close enough together to go into hospital. Got there, was examined and told I was only 3cm dilated, which was hugely disappointing after 21 hours, but I was fully effaced. They would have sent me home but there was a huge traffic jam outside the hospital so they let me stay in the ante-natal ward. Another few hours and I was dilated enough to get in the pool, which felt amazing. Six hours later I was ready to push, an hour of pushing and she was out and into the water! A very straightforward birth apparently, a small tear, a huge pile Shock, and the best feeling in the world to have her in my arms. I can't believe she is finally here.
Thank you so much everyone for all your help and support, I found it terrifying being pregnant after having lost our first baby and I could not have got through these last nine months without you.

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 08/02/2011 12:11

Glad you are doing well Dorcas and so lovely you had her in the pool. Enjoy those snuggles! Grin If you are uncomfortable downstairs Mothercare do a perineal coldpack which I can recommend.

Baby I think having a sweep can be pretty uncomfortable, having my waters broken with DD was possibly worse than my entire labour with her. Keep your chin up nothing is a given and baby might just decide today is the day. Keeping my fingers crossed that things get moving for you xxxxx

Gonnabe it is never too late, might just be the pressure on your bladder or maybe a UTI? My pelvic floors have been very much neglected until last weeks falsey, I don't know how the hell I haven't piddled myself so far Loops! Grin

Clare T W O days!!!!! Exciting! LOL at your mothercare trip. Hope you enjoyed the flicks.

Nicks your MW will check hb at your 16 week check. Hope you are feeling better today, thanks for your supportive words, if they came now I wouldn't be sorry but every week counts so the longer they cook the better as I really don't want to leave them behind in SCBU.

Lia hope the eve primrose is helping. There was a lady on the twins thread who went over 40 weeks and had a natural delivery. I so have a very supportive consultant and feel well looked after.

34 weeks today and feeling much more positive with the sun shining today!

Dorcas - didnt you do well.. amazing! Hope you are enjoying the blissful days!

Magic - I think this hacking cough isnt helping the old pelvic floor situation. I am trying my best to do the exercises now.. Im very worried what im going to be like when I actually have a big bump pressing on my bladder!!!

Did everyone watch OBEM last night? Didnt the lady with the heart condition do well, and the poor lady whose baby came out facing the wrong way - she did brilliantly! Im such a wimp I dont like seeing all the blood so have to keep a cushion nearby at all times!

DH is finally coming home today - someone to talk to in the evening.. thank goodness.

I am still worrying so much although i am feeling soo much better and the dreaded bleending hasnt shown its face since Thursday..can i dare to beleive it might be OK??

dorcas - lovely birth story - well done you - you must be exhausted though! have you decided on a name?! Grin

ba8y the race isn't over yet....! TBH sweeps and internals during labour were the MOST acutely painful thing about being pregnant! At least I should (hopefully) get get avoid both this time...

gonnabe and magic glad you a feeling more positive - it's amazing what a bit of sunlight can do.

We had our final family outing as a threesome today - took DS to a farm park to terrorise goats etc. I had to give myself a good talking to this morning, as I woke up from a pretty vivid RAGE dream where I had been shouting and screaming at everyone, and on waking still felt fully vicious - but managed to reign it in. Think all the walking today may have caused baby to engage, feeling very very achey this evening and like i constantly need to wee. Nothing contraction like thank goodness, but I'm going to stay on the sofa tomorrow and not move at all!
