gonnabe hoping for you its all ok :) xxx I say i can feel the odd flutter.. and sometimes not followed by wind, but you never know if i am right or not!!

GP said yesterday hb sometimes can be heard early but it can depend where baby is hiding, and how it is lying etc etc so not always possible. YOu are still under 14 weeks - your EPU should still see you for a scan with more bleeding? Its the reassurance you need too xxx

THONG??? OOF dont think so! Big knicks all the way over 'ere.

Best of luck for your scan Littlemiss I hope and am sure everything will be perfect x

stuffedmk · 04/02/2011 09:56

Gonnabe keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you!

littlemiss enjoy seeing bubs again today.

Dorcas looking forward to hearing some more news Grin

owlbooty · 04/02/2011 10:50

Grrr. Doctor did not like my urine sample and has demanded I see her for 'routine' appt (letter said 'not to worry'). Er - am 14 weeks up the duff and hormonal disaster area. Of course I am going to worry. Have got appt at 11.20, am now beside myself with stress.

Does anyone have a kipper they could slap me with, please?

Littlemiss hope the scan is utterly lovely, I'm sure it will be :)

Nix Giant pants all the way, oh yes.

SameOldJollster · 04/02/2011 11:06
clareanna · 04/02/2011 11:28

Hi all - just back from the hospital for my clerking appointment ahead of C-section.
All fine, they did bloods, urine test, MRSA swabs and BP.
I am to go in at 8am next thursday and am currently the only ELCS on the list, so chances are I'll get the consultant rather than the registrar. Have to take ranatadine x2 before going in to neutralise stomach acid.
They will not lower the screen as they said this affects the sterility of the operation, but will lift the baby up high so we get a good look.
Got asked twice if I worked at the hospital -due to questions I was asking! Nearly said "no, but i'm on mumsnet!!" Grin

So... all set for next Thursday and now off to Jamie Oliver's new restaurant for lunch - special pre-opening preview meal. Have packed the gaviscon.

Littlemiss good to hear from you - hope all well with your scan - come back and tell us how it went

owl try not to worry, it could be a little UTI or something. I was asked to go in about my bloods and was bricking it, but it was all ok. big hugs.

gonnabe hope all ok this morning

nickstermum · 04/02/2011 12:08

OWl am sure it will be fine honey... what do they test your wee for anyway? Mine dibbed it whilst i was there then slung it in the bin. clare is right could be a little UTI - or it could be nothing. If there is something there, better you can get treated for it now :) Keep us posted hon..

Please stop tantalising me Jolls Grin I actually had a piece of brie on nye at 8 weeks pg as my friend told me it was pasteurised and therefore safe (he is a biologist!) my dsis soon swiped it out my hands...was gutted! Have abstained but really really WANT it. and Yes SISTER! Clearly you are the younger one Grin

Am at the end of my first FT week back at work and am shagged! Trying to mumsnet work at home with a 7 kilo fatlump cat draped over my work...hes obviously starving cos he aint shifting Grin

owlbooty · 04/02/2011 12:22

Oooh, Clareanna all systems go, v exciting :)

Having now been to see the GP, I am now going to share some marvellous wee-related wisdom with you all.

  1. When peeing in a pot, do not use the first bit of pee as it will inevitably be contaminated. This will cause your GP to send you scary letters when actually, all they mean is, we need you to pee in another pot and we don't actually think there is anything wrong at all.
  1. Demand a bigger pot. Or, as they had no bigger pots, a sterile jug.

I think I may have raised some eyebrows as I sidled into the patient loos clutching my jug. This is sample number 3. I'm hoping for third time lucky.

It does not help that this week the insanity hormones have begun and everything is making me cry.

Nix I also have a massivehuge cat. Are you my scary twin or something?

PenguinsMummy · 04/02/2011 12:41

Hi all,

Good luck Dorcas - looking forward to hearing your lovely news

Littlemiss hope you have a lovely scan

Gonnabe FX all goes well for you

Clareanna all v exciting!! As fellow ELCS, have you done an actual birthplan or just had a chat with the consultant and what sorts of things did you cover?? Any advice gratefully received!

So glad it's Friday!! 5 weeks today is my last day at work - woohoo!! And off to a cottage week after next for a rest Grin

Owls good stuff... blardy hospitals giving you a fright like that...the vet has suggested i put 7kilocat on a diet Hmm i have 1 skinnyminny and 1 hoofer how do i manage that then? Loopy hope your iccle mog is doing ok Grin

tigerbear · 04/02/2011 13:36

Gonnabe are you ok?

Loopy the woman next to me in the queue had a LEOPARD PRINT ADULT SLEEPSUIT IN FLEECE - shudder!

clareanna can still get into my normal g-strings. Just got the big knickers in preparation for afterwards - can't seem my strings holding up with a great big brick of a maternity pad in them! (soooo not looking forward to that bit - the thought of shuffling around with something the size of a small pillow in my knickers is Not Nice!)

owl try not to worry - easier said than done though!

tigerbear · 04/02/2011 13:37

Sorry Owl, just saw your latest post - glad everything is ok.

Gonnabe · 04/02/2011 13:45

Lovely ladies - you do make me laugh with your food cravings - hadn't even thought of Brie till now!
I took myself off to st Thomas hospital in London this morning as I had googles walk in epu's and it was well worth the waiting around to see babys heartbeat. I literally can not believe it! Thanks so much for your lovely words - I'm hoping that's the last time I see blood for a long time!

Has dorcas posted??

Muser · 04/02/2011 13:56

Glad to hear it Gonnabe. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you, this time for no more bleeding. Your little bean seems to be holding on tight.

PMSL at the toddler step by the bed Grin

stuffedmk · 04/02/2011 16:58

I'm liking the lack of posting by Dorcas FX she's busy and her next post will be to move to the baby list.

owlbooty · 04/02/2011 17:05

Brilliant news, Gonnabe - so pleased for you :)

My mog is 7.5kg and I am convinced he is just big boned - impossible to put the lardy cat on a diet if there is a skinny cat in the house too, though - lardy cat will always just eat all the food.

Loops love the thought of the cat using the toddler step Grin

Nix thankfully I work in a medical environment so next time I'm just gonna nick a few of the larger pots. Am fed up with peeing on fingers. Yeah, I know, it's probably just me that can't do this right Grin

Pom poms at the ready for dorcas ! Hope all is going swimmingly.

Baby Dorcas arrived at half six this morning after a thirty hour labour, born in the birth pool. She is absolutely gorgeous, I'm exhausted but so happy. I can't believe she is finally here! She weighed in at a respectable 8lb 5oz. Will be back later to write a longer post but just wanted to let you all know!
