Hi Laylasmummy - I could have written your post myself! I'm 5+4. MC in September at 7 wks and am totally terrified.

Thought I had a tiny bit of nausea and possibly slightly sore/heavy boobs a few days ago but now nothing. My last pg didn't even get off the ground so to speak (when they scanned me when I started bleeding there was nothing there and they concluded it must have failed really early - i.e. before 6 weeks), so I'm terrified that's what's happening this time too.

Fingers crossed that it all works out fine for both of us and we turn out to be worrying totally unnecessarily!

laylasmummy09 · 12/01/2011 14:47

mee too ive got everything crossed for us, its absolutely terrifying and seems like ages til ill see a midwife let alone have a scan, good luck xxx

I had virtually no symptoms throughout my pregnancy - sore boobs, tiredness, a little nausea but nothing I couldn't have explained away. When we went for our 12 week scan I even commented to the sonographer, 'Oh there is something in there then!' because I had had no indication apart from the pregnancy test.

My pregnancy was perfectly healthy and DD was born well and a good weight so I really believe it is not something you can predict.

I also have a friend who had morning sickness up to 20 weeks with her first pregnancy and hardly anything with her second. She was convinced she was having a boy the second time round but had a second daughter.

I undersand that it can be worrying, I got fed up of hearing people with horrendous morning sickness being reassured by people saying that it was all the hormones meaning it was a good healthy pregnancy - load of rubbish in my opinion.

I know it's hard but try not to worry as there is nothing you can do at this stage except look after yourself and wait and see.

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 15:00

I know what you mean! I'm pushing my GP to arrange an 8 wk scan (three weeks from now and four weeks before the 12 wk scan), which he seems willing to do given my previous MC (and some other issues). If the hospital refuse to do one on the NHS then I'm going to bite the bullet and have one done privately. It costs £100 at a place I've found in london and I can't wait until 12 weeks - I'll have totally lost my marbles by then!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 12/01/2011 15:10

I'm 10 weeks and apart from being able to sleep on a twig, I haven't had a sniff of a symptom. Have convinced myself it's all over and am patiently waiting for a scan date.

Still getting huge big BFPs on the tests I insist on doing every other day Blush

SenoritaViva · 12/01/2011 15:12

Apart from expanding I had no symptoms through pregnancy, barely got any kicks or anything.

DC, age 3, happily sitting on sofa (and would willingly kick me if I trained her up).

laylasmummy09 · 12/01/2011 15:13

me too ive been looking at clinics that do it but ive heared some NHS hospitals do it for a smaller fee, if i have to wait til week 12 my head will have exploded with worry, and i feel mad for wanting nausea lol,
thanks fizzpops stories like yours are reassuring x

SenoritaViva - thanks for the positive story! It's ones like that that are keeping hope alive for me.

Gwendoline well done on only testing every other day! The last few days I've only done one test a day and I was proud of myself for cutting back from two Blush I'll hgave to cut down to every other day soon though or I'll brankrupt myself!

laylasmummy09 · 12/01/2011 15:16

good luck gwendoline fingers crossed for you too,let us know how you get on x

I'm 8w5 and although I'm tired, expanding and boobs have grow that's about it. Ive had 2 scans so I know there's a baby in there :)

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 15:20

Thanks Fizzpops too - missed your post first time!

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 15:22

To those who have/had sore/swollen boobs (or indeed other symptoms) did they fluctuate or just get progressively more? I think what's freaking me the most is I seemed to be developing symptoms but now they seem to have faded.

SMummyS · 12/01/2011 15:23

My boobs have 'off' days where running up the stairs hurt. I tried non wired bra but that made it so much worse :( I'm 34g pre pregnancy so dreading them getting bigger

laylasmummy09 · 12/01/2011 15:28

mine were painful one minute then nothing, today deffinitely nothing x

Thanks gingercat. I'm loving these positive stories!

Misty9 · 12/01/2011 16:00

hi laylasmummy09 - I'm also due on 9th Sept and I'm 5+5 today...and no particularly bad symptoms apart from tender boobs and a lot of bloating and gas (not that unusual for me though :))

Can't wait to get to 6 weeks on Friday...halfway to the scan! Although had a scare yesterday with light pink blood when I wiped, so will be offered early scan at 8 weeks but not sure whether to take it as heard you can't see much at that point.

Hopefully all our worrying will be over nothing.. xx

Misty9 · 12/01/2011 16:02

ps. I've read it's common not to start getting nausea until 6-7 weeks...sounds weird but when I felt a bit sick this morning I was sooo pleased!! :o

Misty9 · 12/01/2011 16:03

pps. have a look at this page - click on 'How Far Along Am I' and it gives you a pregnancy calendar with fascinating piccies of the developing foetus :)

saycheese · 12/01/2011 16:15

i've been had 4 children, first 3 i didnt even need a pregnancy test to tell me i was pregnant, even before my period was late i was sick, and pee'd a lot and its the only time i get headaches too, again very early on. first 3 were girls.
my last child was defiantly a surprise, i had no idea i was pregnant, until the test told me. even then i thought no way i would know if i was. i wasnt sick at all, had no symptoms whatsoever, it was only seeing the scan that made me believe i was actually pregnant. it was a boy.
i now believe that there is a difference the way your body reacts to different sex pregnancys?

Wombat33 · 12/01/2011 16:15

Wow amazing pictures! I really hope that is what's going on insiide me Smile

laylasmummy09 · 12/01/2011 16:16

I was very sick with DC1 and worried when I was not sick right from the beginning when pregnant with DC2. Sickness set in at about 7/8 weeks and lasted for 5 month. I had a MC in my first pregnancy as well so I totally understand where you are coming from. if your NHS hospital does not offer scans before 12 weeks (even with your history?), is there any chance you could afford a couple of quid on a private scan. you will probably feel so much better after knowing that the little one is doing fine!
