Hi all . Sorry you feel crap unbuffy x

Nice to hear from you tfls hope alls well with you ?

Thanks all for your lovely words..... Yes , on one hand it " helps" to know Georgie didn t die for no resin ( does that make sense ) but on the other hand it is a chain of events that had they have happened at different times or not together Georgie could well have been with us now. That's the hardest pill to swallow lots of " what ifs" and lots of flukes that lento the worst possible outcome. E coli is so common and without symptons that the likelihood of this outcome is incredibly rare . Apart from to us and Georgie.

Again it's shit ; pure and simple.

Happy 6 week anniversary my darling Georgie love you loads, miss you loads and will see you at some point my darling xxxxx

Off to the gym to waste some time , my life seems to have become a way of killing time until I get what I want.

Sorry for downbeat post ....hope you all have a nice day xxxx
Miss

Again apologise for crap spelling and grammar still on crap iPod !!!!!

Unbuffy · 21/11/2010 17:11

Feeling bad about feeling bad and grumpy iyswim because things are so horrible and sad for you Louise. Will try to be more positive. Do hope things settle down for you soon - I just can't imagine your situation. The idea has me in tears so often. x

zayja · 21/11/2010 17:20

It is shit louise, so hard to understand. I suppose so many of your symptoms were so alike typical labor symptoms. Like you said, if only they had happened a bit differently so you could have known. Continue taking care of yourself and you will get what you want and deserve.

unbuffy sorry you're feeling crap. Just think, it won't be long now (even though it may seem like an eternity). You've come this far - hang in there!

Morning Grin!

Well I'm going to have a go at name checking on my phone, using the 'wrong' hand. So I'll apologise now..! Anything to keep myself awake during the night feeds. It's now 1am, I expect I'll finish during a much later feed.

Firstly I wanted to say how fab it's been to hear from so many of you since the new thread began. I really think this is a brilliant place to be, made brliant by all of you!

Meita I'm so glad that Ianto is doing so well. Your info about group b strep was really good. They don't routinely test for it here - why is that? It seems so silly not to test for something so dangerous. Do any areas routinely test? I hope you are sleeping soundly while I am busy feeding for half the night- how often is Ianto feeding now (please tell me there is hope of dropping some (a) night feed...)!

Louise I'm sorry to hear that you have had some tough days again. It is to be expected. If you imagine that time will make it feel less raw, each tough day you get through is another day towards feeling better. I think of you so often. Georgie's death was so close to Ruby's birth that I can't but feel so lucky that I have been blessed with a healthy baby. I really hope you are able to conceive again quickly.

What was going on with all the vomiting cats??? That's certain to tip a pregnant lady over the edge. Ooof.

Redhead I don't know much about large babies but do know that scans are not always as accurate as they could be. I think, but don't know for sure, that it will affect your chances of a homebirth because there are potentially more risks. Do you have a midwife that you trust who you can talk to? Ultimately you can choose a homebirth if you wish but you should make sure you have all the facts before you make that decision.

Happy I'm really glad that your baby has turned, well done! I have friends who used acupuncture which weened to work really well for them. Fx your baby doesn't turn again!

Viv I'm glad that your mw appointment went well. Sounds like a girl baby to me!

Jolls\ I'm also really pleased to hear that cheepz is doing so well. It was me who had asked about her. Please let her know that I was thinking of her.

Gilda you're a free woman then! Probably time to draft cleaning Grin!

Hello to muser, bunny, crochet. purple, magic & loopy, hope you are all sleeping soundly!

tfls I hope the birthing ball has worked it's magic for you too. It's a miracle cure for crying with Ruby! I am very jealous of you bring able to sleep for 5 hours in a row. I haven't had more than 2 since Ruby was born. At least there's hope...

Zayja there's loads of time for you baby to engage. If you want to help out bounce on a birthing ball - I can't recommend it highly enough! It does really work.

And last but not least a big hug for Alba...

So, it's now 3.51am. I'm going to post this in case I lose it and will make a new post with our news at the next feed. I hope I haven't missed anyone out, SB x

Ooooh, just realised you're awake (or were), Sam!!
Thought it was just me MNing at a stupid time of the morning. At least you have a proper excuse. I'm just restless and can't get back to sleep after my early morning trip to the loo!

Just been catching up with everyones news. Sorry not to have posted for AGES - been in the process of moving house and still don't have Internet at home, so only been lurking on my iPhone, and it's too difficult to post much on it.

Hi to all!!!
I'm at the impatient stage, and still not really feeling pregnant at all - can't wait until next midwife appt so I can hear the heartbeat again.

I'm eating like a beast!! Can't work out whether I'm genuinely hungry or just greedy (suspect it's the latter). I made Yorkshire puddings the other day at lunch time, with the intention of eating some then and keeping the rest for later. Erm.... I ate all TWELVE in one go!!!
DH was quite shocked when he came home and tried to feed me fruit all evening to balance things out! :)

Loopy - we do co-sleep with Ruby. I have done with all my children, I think it is so lovely for them to snuggle up with their mum when they are little. At the moment we are going to bed around 8.30 and I feed every three hours - usually 9pm, midnight, 3am and 6am when we get up. The feeds take about 30-45 minutes and with the settling down the whole thing lasts about an hour. Unless she is having a growth spurt, then she just feeds. As my other children are older and at school I also sleep with Ruby in the day for at least an hour. All in all it's ok but I will be glad when she goes four hours between feeds instead of three. Thanks for the links, I will look later when we are home from the school run.

Hope everyone has a good day, Sam x

Gi1da · 22/11/2010 09:48

Thanks to everyone on tens comments. Am definately going to give it a go. As has been said, might as well have as many options for pain relief available as possible!

So Day One at the Gilda Mat-Leave House..... so far have washed up, put washing on and and am squinting purposefully at the Blush filthy fridge. Not sure if this is nesting or distraction. Obviously I'm not that desperate to clean since I've now logged on...

Louise good to have some answers, although there is simply nothing you could have done differently and nothing to indicate that there was a problem. I guess all you can do right now is look after your health, keep your head together as much as you can, and know that these feelings will get easier. Georgie will always be part of your family and is much loved - and by so many people - what a very special girl.

SamB good grief - you must be shattered! I'm really worried how I will manage with such little and broken sleep. Am used to a good 8 hours solid, and get really grumpy on less. Wowed that you manage with your other children too, I can imagine being really tired and just being at home doing basic life-support tasks, but I can't imagine being that tired and actually having to function like a responsible human being!

Loopsy hug for yesterday, hope it was ok. Thanks for all your answers on my many questions - am checking out the link for Tens hire. Smile

Tigerbear helloooo! Smile at yorkiepud fest, nom nom, I am sure I would do the same if I had some in front of me!

Buffy sorry you are feeling so fed up, hope today is better. Am sure it's really tough playing the is this it or not waiting game. How has the puppy settled in by the way, not so little now I imagine?

Happy hope your crappy day got better.

Alba how's Project Iron going? Smile

Lovely to hear that Cheepz has been so busy, all sounds very positive.

Jolls - how are things with you?

TFLS respect to another sleep deprived lady! 5 hours does sound a lot more do-able, but still must be a marathon after almost 2 months. Do you manage to get a nap in the day?

Redhead sorry no advice from novice me, but am sure that everything will be fine, from all the threads I've seen it doesn't sound like size scans are all that accurate. Hope you get to have a home birth if you want one.

Wondering how Diggingforvictory is?

Clareanna how did your Fame event go? Have to admit I love my legwarmers. Blush

Viv will you find out if your heartbeat guesses are correct at your next scan? We didn't find out, but I kinda wish I knew. Hmm

Magic8ballisfulloflegsandarms how're you doing lovely? I keep getting feet stuck out on my right hand side, and have been wondering what it would be like with double limbage. Very cute to think of them nestling together though.

Purplehib probably depends on your area whether the nhs will offer you an early scan or not. I didn't get one and paid for a private scan at 10 weeks. Hope your work trip goes ok.

Big hellos to everyone that I have missed. Which everyone a happy Monday.

ps Thread Moggies no more puking or exhibitionist peeing ya hear?? Shock

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 22/11/2010 10:36

Sorry I popped in to check up on buffs status and never came back Blush. Not going to say not long to go as I know how fricking annoying that is! If you can be faffed have a little wander around - gravity and all that Wink Big hugs that buffbaby doesn't keep mummybuff waiting too long x

Sam I am loving your night feed posts!
Tiger Go girl!! Yorkshire puds are fab so I dont blame you - the baby needed them!

Hugs for Loopy due dates are hard but it makes it easier if you have somewhere to go to remember. x

Happy maternity leave Gi1da! magicdoublebubble behaved last night and left me to sleep. The kicks etc are not too hefty at the mo although one is head down and one breech and I could really tell yesterday on my poor bladder! 5 working weeks left!

Magicpuss excelled himself on friday night when we got home a little shell shocked from our first "how to survive twins" seminar! I am not even going to explain as just too gross.

Waves to Zayja and big hugs to Louisex

stuffedmk · 22/11/2010 10:43

Loopy hugs for DD, it's mine today, feel a bit odd but my little boy is keeping my mind off it using my bladder as a football Wink

Louise My thoughts are with you.

clareanna · 22/11/2010 11:22

Quick q - do you have to have your 28 week appt at 28 weeks?! Have just worked out that mine is in the middle of a team away day which I'm supposed o be running and can't get in any other time this week

Meita · 22/11/2010 11:57

good morning!

actually, samb, i was feeding ianto at the same time! but, whilst the bad news is that he still (or again)feeds quite often, the good news is that particularly the night feeds are now much shorter. i remember the dark days too well - ianto would feed every 4h, however what with trying to get him to take the breast, then bottle feeding, then expressing, then getting him settled, it might all take up to 2 hours, leaving me wide wide awake and only 2h to go to the next feed. now, he wakes up, i pull him over from the "arm's reach" type crib he is in (a godsend, that; can't recommend strong enough!), he latches on pretty much by himself, and before i know what's happened, i wake up again, realize that he has finished and is fast asleep, and put him back into his bed. no, it's not an uninterrupted night, but not too bad at all. that said, most of my nct group sleep through now, i.e. one long stretch of 5.5 to 7 hours per night. and for about a week, ianto slept midnight to 7am; then we changed the clocks and it all went haywire. now it's something like: 8pm, 11pm, 3.30am, 6:30am, 9:30 am, 12:30 pm, then once or twice more, before starting again. that said, he also seems to be growing like mad!

gi1da i was like that too -8h/night or i'd be grumpy and no good at anything. have to say i'm surprised at how well coped.but tbh, couldn't have persevered with the difficult feeding situation without much help from DP who was up every night and did virtually all the bottle feeds, and my mum who made food and kept the house half decent. when you get there, you will manage, and time flies - it already seems like the distant past to me now!

I think I might change my mn name to: SamBisfeedingagain Grin. I spend my whole time with by boobs out. Thanks for your post Meita, it's good to know we are 'normal'. I fed dd2 in bed and we nodded off together but this time I've been more aware of the warnings about SIDS and the dangers of co-sleeping. I wasn't worried at all previously and actually slept quite well. I think that I'm a bit neurotic actually, I need to worry less. More with the next feed, Sam x

Hi to all.

Thanks zayja, stuffed, loopy, gilda and Sam b for your kind words and wishes.

Had a good day today been out with a good friend of mine , who's actually my hairdresser, for lunch. We talked loads about Georgie she loved Georgie too. She was saying we should be here pushing Georgie around not talking about her not being here . But we will with georgies brother or sister in a years time telling them all about their big sister.

Just another person my little girl has "touched". My darling.

Hope everyones keeping well?

unbuffy whinge away!!! The world doesn t stop because of what we re going through.Going to take a week of antibiotics swab consultant took last thurs ; nad but felt a bit achey last night and want to make sure any infection cleared up post Georgie. Off to drs tomorrow am to double check same.

On a good note no vomiting cats here !!! Just 2 sulky ones as my little girl ( who s actually 10 years old ) cat , not child!!!! Kept us wide awake at the weekend when my parents were staying so I ve not " loved" her since and she's sulking big time !!!!!'

glad to hear you had a good day louise

trying to write a stupid essay: differences and similarities of epidermal and epithemial cell structures. urgh. I know Biology is part of my curriculum, but at which point does a midwife need to know the difference between the cells in your gut and in your skin? bah.
DH kindly bought me a guide to White Knight Chronicles today. The PS3 is beckoning...Hmm

Muser · 22/11/2010 22:55

louise it's good to see you had a good day. Hope there's many more of those to come.

Sam the feeding must be very tiring, hope things settle down soon enough. It's got to be worth it, right?

clareanna my 28 week check will be at 29 weeks as I couldn't do the appointments they had. I don't think it really matters.

Unbuffy every day is one day closer to that lovely baby of yours arriving. Hope it comes soon and gives you a break.

Hello to everyone else. Not much news from me. Been visiting nephews at the weekend, which was lovely. I handed in my maternity leave notice at work today, last day is 11 Feb. Hooray!

SamanthaB123 · 23/11/2010 04:05

Morning! Ruby has just gone four hours between feeds. Repeat four hours between feeds. 8.30 - 12.30. A bit of a shame she cried between 9.00 and 10.00 but even still. Another four hours next please.

Muser There is nothing like it. Nothing. Ruby is so loved, I could just spend all day watching her and playing with her. I don't give one iota about the lack of sleep, one way or another you do manage and being a mum is so rewarding.

Ivy Good luck with the essay, I have no idea what you are talking about Grin. It sounds fascinating though Hmm. I am doing a masters at the moment nand sympathise with essay writing. In fact I have something coming up. How I'll find the time I don't know...

Louise Grin

Magic Where do you live? I looked at metcheck after your post. Not a lot of snow due here but temperatures of -12? I need to shop for warmer clothes that fit.

Ok, feed over, more at 3am...or 3.48. Hello again!

Clare my 28 week appointment as a little later I think. There is a 'window' when it should be because blood tests are done.

Gilda I'm not sure if t sounds like your nesting has gone entirely to plan! How is the fridge looking now? Having had a really clean house I then had a really dirty house after Ruby was born. I'm just starting to get back on top of the situation now. To be honest Ruby's not that interested in housework so it's been a bit tough getting back into it.

Off for coffee with the ante-natal ladies in the morning. Everyone has had their babies now but some quite recently so I'm not sure how many turn up. I still find it a bit awkward with them but it's better than it was.

Right, nappy change next, hope you all have a good day, Sam x

Buffy A special message just for you...I remember all to well the angst at the end. I really feel for you and am thinking of you frequently. I tried all the things that you can do to self induce labour and nothing made a jot of a difference. It did all make me more annoyed that the baby didn't come though! I suspect babies come when they are good and ready irrespective of their poor mum's. Bearing in mind that the person running our household is currently Ruby, it's just a taste of what's to come really! If anything I did was useful it was bouncing on the ball. Ruby was in a good position which really aided a quick pushing stage (recorded as 5 minutes) so I'd recommend doing anything you can regarding optimal fetal positioning. Keep your chin up, you are so, so nearly there, SB x
